Downloading Reader for another PC

I want to download Adobe reader for a friend who has a very slow dial-up connection. Is it possible to down version 9.0 and save it to a portable device for download on another Windows-based PC?

I know that this is an old thread, but I
still have the same problem.
I need to download and save to my hard drive then put on jump drive to take and update a friends
computer who is still on a Dial-up connection.
When i just go to down load the latest version of Adobe Reader it wants to install it on my pc.
That is fine but how do i then get it to friends pc.

Adding to sarbin's instructions, you should probably run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from MS . That will show you what is compatible and what is not.

Downloading VISS for another computer

I have been using Verizon Internet Security Suite on my PC for a year. Just bought a new one and can't figure out how to download it for this one. My subscription says its for up to 3 computers...have only been using it on one so far. Help?

Look for this ICON on your desktop of the PC you are trying to download VISS to.
If you see it, then simply double click it and you'll be able to download the VISS. You'll see it on the first page after it opens (be patient it loads slow on my machine)

Downloading Reader for an unconnected friend

I have a friend who needs Reader but who does not have an Internet connection (no, really!) I tried going down the "distribute Reader" path for assistance but ran into a broken link. Does anybody if/where I can find the complete installation software for me to download then install on my friend's machine?

Downloading Reader for Windows using a Mac Computer

I have a dual boot Imac going online on Mac partition only.
I want to download, onto the Mac OS partition, the Adobe Reader that is compatible with Windows XP so that I can transfer it to the partition using Windows XP.
The Adobe Reader download site recognizes a Mac OS and offers me only the Reader compatible with Mac OS. (I specifically choose NOT to go online using Windows XP part of the Imac.)

Downloaded mavericks for one mac can i use the same download to install on another mac

I have downloaded for 12 hours initial installation on one mac for mavericks, and all installed successfully. Rather than download again for another mac, can I use the same download and copy on to the other mac..and if yes, where will I find it?

All you need to do is go to System Preferences > App Store and uncheck the automatic install of updates box, then download the Mavericks installer, and copy to a flash drive. You will need a flash drive of 8 G B or more since the installer is around 5.3 GB. The installer will be in Finder > Applications. You can then copy that flash drive installer to the Applications folders in all the Macs you have that are capable of running Mavericks, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
When the installer runs, the last step in the installtion is for the installer to erase itself. So makng a copy before the installer runs is essential if you want to avoid redownloading.
Installing from the same installer does not cause problems for Macs on the same network.

After my laptop crashed the second day of class, I had to send it away for repair for 8-12 weeks. I have had to reset it up from scratch and have set-up Firefox. There is a online college math program that they recommend using Firefox with. In the past I have never had a problem with Adobe anything. The program also requires the newest Adobe Flash Player and Reader. I have repeatedly tried downloading, rebooting and restarting the the downloaded .exe files for both (making sure there is only one version running at a time in the file folder and in task manager background). I have used all possible settings for adobe products permissions to work across all firewall, antivirus, web protection, Mozilla and my computer systemin general, even Internet Explorer (Hate it).
The files download to my downloads file folder through Firefox, however, when I double-click to install them I get the "Do you want to run", "yes", then "Windows smartscreen is unavailable do you want to run anyway, "Yes", then absolutely nothing happens. No wizards, no installing, nothing or I get a "Only one single instance of this file must run." and again nothing. Tried it with nothing open, but the "install" and with the browser open. Neither works. It's usually listed in |Task Manager Background apps, but uses no memory, no CPU, nothing.
I've also tried contacting the school program's IT division (3 hours) nothing, the program itself's IT department (2 hours and they disconnected me) or the best anyone could offer was use another browser. Can't get the only other option, Chrome, to work on my computer at all! I've tried all Mozilla and Adobe support/knowledge bases/zines, etc... I'm just a Joe schmo not a developer or IT person and a 4 finger typist at best. What I am is 2 weeks behind in my online class and ready to pitch the f#$***g thing across the room. I was able to borrow a laptop from a friend until I got mine back, but that isn't an option anymore.
Also tried finding an older version - no luck, All support sites keep telling me to find the Firefox "Adobe Plug-in" and just update from there. I have searched all Mozilla Plug-ins, add-ons, etc... but nothing, just download(s) for non-adobe flash players that the math program won't use. No matter How much I try to get it to.
AUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Help.

For Flash, could you try downloading the "full" installers from this page:

In the first table, there are two rows for Windows: one for the ActiveX control for IE, and one for the plugin for Firefox. You might want to grab both. And try the .msi files instead of the .exe files to see whether those work better.
Will either of those install?
It's odd that on a newly rebuilt system your More System Details shows that you have a user.js file, which is an optional settings files used to override your previous session settings. This is not part of the standard Firefox installation, so if you did not create that file yourself, you may want to investigate or delete it. I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

If all .exe files are blocked, antivirus software is most likely configured to block them. See if you can download these with your antivirus and/or security software disabled.

Check to make sure that in iTunes Preferences that Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases is check or check in the iTunes Store under Purchased to see if it rests there. If you still cannot locate them, the report the issue to the iTunes Store.

Problems with downloading Reader 10 X (Windows OS) - is there an uninstaller .exe for Reader 9?

Having problems downloading Reader 10 X. Is there a "uninstaller" .exe file available to remove all previous versions, references, and language fonts for Reader 9 ? There is an "uninstaller" .exe for FlashPlayer. Please advise. Thank you.

Based on my Add/Remove/Programs, I had Adobe Reader 9.4.5 installed (no other versions were listed). Using the "remove" option in the Add/Remove/Program listing, I uninstalled Adobe Reader 9.4.5. When I tried to download Reader 10.1.1 from Adobe, there was an error stating the download could not complete because there were earlier versions installed. Looking through "my deskstop" and "C" drive, I found there was Adobe Reader 9.2.0 .exe. file. Also, another issue is the Language fonts listed in Add/Remove/Programs are not easily detected because the name doesn't begin with Adobe. When you sort by name, you will find Chinese Language Reader Font, Korean Language Reader Font, etc. This requires people to searah for all references to Adobe Reader. Having an "uninstaller" for Reader would make it much easier for people to ensure the uninstall of Reader is complete - removing all previous versions, references and language fonts, before they attempt to install the latest version for Adobe Reader. You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad.
If you haven't synced to a computer them (from here) :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
