Downloading Safari via Windows computer

Hi all
I want to download the standalone installer of Safari 3.1 for Mac via a Windows computer, but all the links take me to the Windows download page.
Does anyone have another link?
Thanks
Stefan

I have the opposite problem I am trying to download Safari for windows from a Mac but apple has introduced this block now so you can only download files relating to the operating system you are using!
direct links for Windows simply load the mac version on a mac and direct links for the mac version download a windows version on a mac.
This restriction is frustrating at least, some of us like to have flash memory with BOTH verions on so we can use it on whatever version of machine we have and diret downloads is not often possible due to firewalls. Please Apple remove this OS specific restriction give us back our links to the other operating system

  • I recently downloaded safari for windows on my computer.

    Hello my name is Alexandra,
I  downloaded safari for windows on my computer about a month ago. It worked fine until a couple of days ago. I can't view any of the images, even the images on the apple home page. How can I fix this?

    Welcome!
First, see that images are enabled. Do Edit menu > Preferences and click the "Appearance" tab. There is a box labeled "Display images when the page opens" that needs to be checked:

I recently bought an Ipod touch 2nd gen, (Ebay). It's in great shape and seemed to be wiped clean.
When I connect (via windows computer) to Itunes with usb cord the Ipod icon shows, but the only function you can do is eject. When its in the upper right hand corner and you click on it all you get is a done button, when it's in the side bar right click and your only option is eject, left click has no effect. If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.
I purchased a song with Itunes on the Ipod itself, and it transferred to my library on the computer automatically .
I have an Iphone 5 and a nano that are still functioning with Itunes thru computer so I'm thinking the issue is with the Ipod touch. I've reset it several times, rebooted it, with no change.
nothing on the internet has helped, I called tech support and got disconnected. Should I take it to a retail store? I just don't know where to go next, I'm of course willing to pay for tech or repair. looking for suggestions.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Can't Download Safari for Windows from a Mac

    Hello All,
iTunes is no problem, but Safari and QuickTime won't let a Mac download the Windows versions. With iTunes, one can click a link to go to the Windows version, but there is no link for Safari or QuickTime. I have a stand-alone Windows XP SP3 computer. Although I don't use it on the Internet, I test web sites locally on it, so I need Safari to ensure compatibility. Does anyone know how to get to the Windows version from a Mac?
    Jim

    Sanjac--
I'm not sure you can; it's determined by your op system. Even if you could load Safari for Windows on a Mac, you'd actually have to be running Windows--and if that were the case, I suspect you wouldn't have had to post the question.
    Best of luck-

  • Trouble downloading Safari for Windows

Hi, I did move out from US, to Latin America. Since that, I had been trouble trying to download the Safari English version; but neither Apple support page nor CNET, Softonic, etc., files servers web sites, allow me to get the right version requested, instead I got always the Spanish version. Does somebody knows how to solve this matter?
    Thanks

Doublechecking ... are you sure you want to install Safari for Windows? Apple stopped development on that quite a while ago. If you want to use a webkit-based browser, it might be safer to use Chrome, from a security standpoint.

  • Find my music to download to new window computer

I bought a new Lenovo touch screen computer.  I cannot seem to find my photos and music that should be in the cloud to download to my new computer.

    Hey Tim,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into a bit of an issue finding music and photos that were  synced from your iPhone 5 to your new computer. The articles linked below may be able to help you resolve the issue; the first will walk you through importing photos from your iPhone and describe where they go, the second describes how iTunes organizes media and where music is stored.

  • Can't Download Safari $ on Windows Vista

I click "Download Safari 4" and it goes to a new page that says "Thank You For Downloading Safari 4" but Safari 4 isn't downloaded on my machine.

I am having all kinds of trouble with 10g XE on Vista Ultimate 64-bit. The first time I tried to install it caused a blue screen during the service registry, causing me to have to manually delete the services (sc delete from the command line) before reinstalling. The second time it states that it installed successfully, but now it is missing most of the essential files like EXPRESS.DBF, SYSTEM.DBF, CONTROL.DBF etc. so I cannot mount the database. I tried running XE.bat manually but it complains that these files are missing. I googled on how to create these, but most are restore oriented. What I read describes running commands to create them from the database, but since I don't have a database mounted I am out of luck. I think I will uninstall and try to reinstall one more time tonight. Wish me luck! :)

  • Downloading apps via Windows for iPhone

I downloaded an app from the store via my Windows 8 computer and it was "processed."  My iPhone 4 was connected to the machine;  but how do I get it onto the phone?  Complete noob here with iPhone as of today.  I don't see it anywhere on the phone or the computer now.

    You sync it.
    You should read the manual:

  • Downloading Safari For Windows On A Mac?

Is there a way that you can download the Windows version of the Safari installer while using a Mac?
Every time I try, it takes me to the Mac page with only options to download for Tiger or Leopard.

If you are running Safari 3.1 and enable the Develop menu from the Advanced Preferences, you can temporarily tell web servers that you are actually using a Windows version of Firefox. Doing so will let sites that customize page delivery like Apple's present the Windows-specific pages.

  • Can't download Safari because Windows Installer can't be accessed

Any help would be appreciated as to why by computer can't access Windows Installer?
    Thanks

Is that on a 64-bit system, john?
If so, even though it's about a different application (and even if you're on Windows 7 rather than Vista), I'd try the following document:
Vista Home Premium (x64) and installing Itunes - SOLUTION
The theory here is that last time I checked, the SafariSetup.exe installer include a 64-bit bonjour installer (for installs on 64-bit systems). So in principle, the same problem as discussed in the link can hit a Safari install (even though I'm not sure I've seen an example of it in the flesh before).

  • Streaming radio through Safari via Windows Media?

I am trying again and again to try and get some streaming internet radio (non itunes stations) on my system at work, and have no luck.
I am using Safari and have the latest version of Windows Media Player for Macs installed. Yet, everytime it tries to load I am given this message :
The page “------” has content of MIME type “application/x-mplayer2”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:
it leads me to the Windows Media page and no plug-in seems to exist.
Is there an application I could use to direct any internet radio streams through iTunes? or any other methods I could use to listen to the radio?
any and all help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi, jason, welcome to Apple's user-to-user discussion forums.
As Jim said, there are some WMP formats (codecs) that are not supported in WMP/Mac, which was last updated three years ago. This is especially true for any Windows media with current Microsoft digital rights management which Microsoft has said will never be available for the Macintosh.
There can be problems even with formats WMP/Mac supports. Bad coding can be one of the problems. Microsoft says that WMP/Mac, for example, will often reject a poorly coded asx file while the same file would be played by WMP/Win. And playing Windows media can be inconsistent. I have seen cases in which a file would play on a computer one day and not the next, or one one Mac but not the next.
As Microsoft is no longer developing WMP/Mac, they are recommending the now free Flip4Mac plugin and player. This plugin is supposed to play Windows streams through Quicktime, but it does not work consistently so I and some others have disabled it for streams which can be done in the preference pane that is added to System Preferences. Other users have had not problems using Flip4Mac for streams. I still use the desktop Flip4Mac viewer which has not caused me any problems.
