Downloading Skype in MacBook Air

I have downloaded Skype for Mac and it is shown in the download files and also as a device. I can open it and use it but once I shut down the computer Skype disappears as if it has not been downloaded properly. Does anybody know what to do?

Follow Skype's installation instructions pictured below. Drag the Skype app to your Applications folder, and authenticate:
The "volume" icon resembling the following disappears when you shut down.
Don't routinely launch Skype from there. Its sole purpose is for you to install Skype on your Mac. Once you do that it's no longer needed. Drag it to the Trash to unmount it.
If you want Skype to launch every time you log in, add the Skype app to your Login Items.

You want to download (I assume you meant upload) it to iCloud? If that's what you mean, you can't. iCloud will already have movies purchased from the iTunes store, which can be redownloaded (depending on your location) from your purchased list. Movies from other sources cannot be stored in iCloud, except digital copies or purchased DVDs that are compatible with iTunes.

Only, the 2008 and 2011 versions of Office for Mac will run on your MacBook Air.
There is no MS Office 2007 for Mac, only Windows.

I have been unable to download the Photoshop software that I just purchased. I have read through the FAQ several times and have executed the steps that were listed there.
When I click on download the instructions appear telling me that Download Installer with load first, etc. I click “OK” and I am returned to the same page I started at. Noting happens. I get No Download Installer, no Photoshop.
I am running Lion on a MacBook Air connected the a 2T storage device. No other hardware is connected.
Now what?

What do you have listed in your Applications folder? If installed properly you should have a folder titled Adobe Photoshop CS6 and you can locate the program inside that folder.
If you still are unable to locate the program then the next step would be to review the installation log to determine the point of failure. For Mac OS X version 10.6.8, the Java updates will come through Software Updates:
Click here if you're running OS X Lion v10.7.5 or OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.3, or later
Use one of these methods:
For a new installation of Java 7:
Download the latest Java 7 version from www.java.com/download/mac_download.jsp.
Open the downloaded disk image.
Open the installer within and follow the onscreen instructions.
If Java 7 is already installed:
Choose Apple menu () > System Preferences….
Choose View > Java to open the Java Control Panel app.
Click the Update tab.
Click Update Now button and follow the onscreen instructions.

Open Software Update and install all available updates. Additional updates may become available after installation.

Any Lion you buy off the AppStore can be re-downloaded repeatedly by you for use on different systems owned by you.
Note that if you sell those systems, new Apple licensing issues require and additional step of you. Any Lion you buy is yours ... ownership cannot be transferred to the new owner. If you sell the Lion-upgraded system, you must restore the original OSX and the new owner must buy his/her own Lion.

Java on the Web (not to be confused with JavaScript, to which it's not related, despite the similarity of the names) is a weak point in the security of any system. Java is, among other things, a platform for running complex applications in a web page, on the client. That was always a bad idea, and Java's developers have proven themselves incapable of implementing it without also creating a portal for malware to enter. Past Java exploits are the closest thing there has ever been to a Windows-style "virus" affecting OS X. Merely loading a page with malicious Java content could be harmful. Fortunately, Java on the Web is mostly extinct. Only a few outmoded sites still use it. Try to hasten the process of extinction by avoiding those sites, if you have a choice. Forget about playing games or other non-essential uses of Java.
Java is not included in OS X 10.7 and later. Discrete Java installers are distributed by Apple and by Oracle (the developer of Java.) Don't use either one unless you need it. Most people don't. If Java is installed, disable it — not JavaScript — in your browsers. In Safari, this is done by unchecking the box marked Enable Java in the Security tab of the preferences dialog.
Regardless of version, experience has shown that Java on the Web can't be trusted. If you must use a Java applet for a specific task, enable Java only when needed for the task and disable it immediately when done. Close all other browser windows and tabs, and don't visit any other sites while Java is active. Never enable Java on a public web page that carries third-party advertising. Use it, when necessary, only on well-known, login-protected, secure websites without ads. In Safari 6 or later, you'll see a lock icon in the address bar with the abbreviation "https" when visiting a secure site.

You need to set up an Apple App Store account in order to be able to dowload software from the App Store. An App Store account requires an Apple Id (normally this is your email address). If you don't have one you can set one up. Note this is the same id you use for iTunes so if you have an iTunes account use those credentials.
If you have a new MBA 2011 (i.e. one bought after about July this year) it will already be running Lion. To make sure go to the Apple menu (top left corner of screen) and select About this Mac. If the version of Mac OS X shown is 10.7 then that is Lion.
