Downloading songs from second computer

I have purchased and downloaded songs on my authorized cottage computer but cannot sync them to my ipod without losing all my songs. How do I get these songs onto my ipod and home computer. Home sharing is turned on and I have authorized both computers.(I have just figured out that for home sharing to work both computers need to be in the same house.) Am out of luck?

Not really, the Shuffle works differently from other iPods and is designed to be linked to only one computer. What is wrong with your CD drive?

  • I've downloaded songs from my computer to my ipad and some of them still need downloading but it wont download

I downloaded songs from my computer (that I got from my iPhone) to my iPad and some of them have a cloud symbol next to them and I tap it and it says Download Over Mobile? I haven't got Wi-fi or a sim card in it but that doesn't matter because I've already downloaded 1 album and it works. How come these songs won't play?!

  • Is it possible to download songs from another computer?

I have a new ipod shuffle that i just got it recently. I dont have internet connection currently because I'm travelling. Is it possible to download songs from another computer. My main computer would be my laptop.

Yes but it would probably overwrite the songs currently on your iPod when it syncs to the new computer.

How do i sync photos from my computer to my ipad?

The same way you sync everything else.  The songs will have to be in itunes in order to put them on the ipad.
Open itunes, connect ipad, select what you want to sync, sync.

  • Home sharing deleting songs from second computer

    Hi,
I set up home sharing using my apple ID account on my computer and my husbands. When he transfers a song from my library, it just copies it from mine but when I transfer a song from his computer to mine, it erases it from his! How do I stop this? I can't seem to find any infromation about this. Why does it erase the songs? I thought it was only copying them.

OK, if you have your music on your iPod and the iPod is set to manage music manually and you are satisfed with your backup arrangements...
Just select the tracks you want to delete in itunes and then press the delete key. If your tracks are in the iTunes music folder you will be given the option of deleting the files from your PC.
If the tracks are not in the iTunes music folder, they will just be deleted from the library - which holds inforamtion about tracks rather than the tracks themselves. You then have to find the tracks in Windows and delete them from there.
BTW if you look in iTunes help under "deleting" you will find more information about it.

  • Copying songs from second computer onto iPod

I have my iPod synced with my home iMac, but want to add some playlists from my powerbook. I'm sure I used to be able to do this. Now, when I try to drag a playlist onto my iPod, nothing will happen.
I don't want to resync my iPod with my laptop's iTunes; I only want to add to it from my laptop.
    Any help?
    Thanks,
    Rob

  • Downloading songs from a different computer with out reformatting my i pod

Hey there, it's probably a common question. Is there any way to download songs from a different computer with out having to reformat the ipod and lose all my songs i have on there. I've tried it once and it wiped my ipod clean of all my songs. Very annoying. cheers

    Hello noboo79,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
On the computer you have initially the set the iPod up on and for, you can enable the "manually manage music and videos" option from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes. This will allow you to sync contect to the iPod from multiple computers. Otherwise, there is no other way.
Here is more on using your iPod with multiple computers as well as manually managing your iPod's contents.

  • How to download MP3 songs from my computer harddrive to IPOD?

This a used IPOD that I just bought.
I restored it to its factory settings by using Itunes software.
Now I am trying to download some MP3 songs from my computer so that I can listen to them using the IPOD. I don't even know this is possible. I used Windows Explorer and droped the songs to IPOD 'drive'. IPOD says 'no music' and I can't play any of the songs using IPOD, but the songs are showing up in the Windows Expolorer. I can play them using Windows media player also. What am I doing wrong?

You need to use iTunes to put music on the iPod so that it can be played.
