Downloading system update finally... hoorah

received a system message saying it would be available 'over the next week'. update came as ota push. phone is in so cal FYI.

Good luck on that one. Some people have gotten it already, and some people like you and I, are still waiting. There is no way of putting an exact date on it. I have seen someone that is in the same city as me get the update already, and I'm left wondering why I don't have it yet. We have to just try to be patient and know that it is coming and will hopefully be here soon. There is an article out there on popherald.com that says it could be out to everyone by this weekend, but I don't know how reliable the source for that article is. I would say just hang in there. It's only a matter of time.

Pre-Download System Updates to use w/MDT 2012

Is their any way to pre-download these system updates and install them during a deployment using MDT 2012?
Wish to speed up the deployment?

I assume you're wanting to automatically install drivers?
Download the driver packs for your models from here: http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht074984

I can't download system updates

Ican download apps from the Apple Apps Store but when I try to download system OS updates the downlad speed drops

Does the download continue?

Downloading system update for MacBook - not

I've been trying to download the update from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11. After a half hour I get the message it has timed out and be sure I'm connected to the net. I am connected. I stay connected via DSL. I opened the Energy Saver control panel and checked to see that all settings are "Never" for the sleep cycle. I don't use that sleep choice. Tried to download an update for Capture 4 and the same thing happened. I paid for that DL and would like to use it. I've never had this non-download problem in 13 years of using Macs. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this so downloads are possible with the MacBook? No DL problem with iBook G4.

No idea if Apple knows about your issue. For OS X Mountain Lion, i believe 10.8.5 is the last OS update we'll see.

Thinkvantage System Update 3.14.0031 Failure

T400. Vista
Ran SU and received message notice "Your copy of SU needs to be updated". When I click OK, the download tries to begin, but immediately get error box "system failed to download. Make sure you have an active network connection".
Close.
Next message box "SU failed to install. You can also install from lenovo.com/support."
I downloaded System Update 3.14.0031 and installed. Rebooted and ran getting the same result as above.
Edit: Same problem on a different computer running XP. Must be an issue at lenovo.

What does happen and what should i do if i accidently close mac while system update?

Because one day I accidently i had to go somewhere while my mac have an update so i shut down the mac.
What should i do because only my window partition(from boot camp) works and not my mac.
When i choose my mac(via holding alt then choosing the partition i want to start), it looks like its starting but then it somehow automaticaly restart.
Please tell me what to do so i can use back my mac partition again.

If its not enough about description of event its more like:
Downloaded system update completed
Restart and installing update
while installing update i shut down my mac by accident
when i try to start my mac partition(boot camp) it restarts auto
then i didnt try to start it again
Should worry?

"System Update Downloaded"

I have an HP 8 G2 1411 tablet. Every time I turn it on or swipe to unlock, the "System Update Downloaded" message appears along with an icon. So ... what do I do next??

Thanks. Tried that several times; didn't work (although it's worked before on my Lollypop OS tablets -- this tablet is Kit Kat). Finally got system update to execute by pulling down Status Bar and launching it from there.

Lenovo System Update 5.0.3 failes to download packages

Hello,
SU shows an error dialog saying "An error occurred while downloading packages.".
I reinstalled SU and Solution Center and updated BIOS. But it still does not work...
I checked several posts in this community.

Lenovo System Update 5.03 on T430u doesn't report software updates
And I knew that tvsu_log_xxx.txt has important information for debugging.
It turned out that SU failed to download "HelloLevel_9_08_00.xml" for the following reason.
"An error ocurred while setting the digital certificates for this download"
What is this? Do the digital certificates mean SSL certificate?
Anyone know how to solve this?

I'm having a similar problem with 5.0.5. Whenever it gets to "Downloading Package Information", it will show "15% Lenovo Help Center" and it dies there. Errors below in the log.
If I look at the XML file mentioned below, it's zero-length (empty).

In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?

I am having problem with TVSU 4.0 on a Windows 7 64 bit system where it gets to about 17-18% and consistently gives me "An error occurred while downloading packages"
I've made sure no firewalls are active. Am not using an Proxy servers and have turned off "automatically detect settings" in Internet Options. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall and no change. I've also tried to run as an Administrator and no luck either.
I reviewed the logs that are located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\System Update\logs
I've highlighted in BOLD the entries below I feel may be the issue, but not sure how to resolve it. I did notice download.lenovo.com link when I try to reach it directly shows file not found???

I want to create an "up to date" installation disk from my own one. So after installing the system shouldn't need to download any update. Is that possible? If so, how? Thanks.

I know how to make an installation disk without things that I won't use and that can be burnt in a single layer DVD. But I want to make one that would be up to date with all the updates that have been released until now included.
Is that possible? How do I download the updates? How do y include them in the DVD? I would be great if I don't have to isntall them manually after installing the macosx.
I think there should be two ways of doing so:
1.- Include the updates in the DVD and execute them after the system installation.
2.- That the installation itself were up to date.

I don't believe it is. TimeCapsule restore would be limited to the same platform it was backed up from?
I think what the OP is after is the idea of slipstreamed DVD including Snow Leopard *&* the latest combo updates. In the Windows world this is referred to as a slipstreamed install.
For example you could have the latest build of SL plus the latest combo update slipstreamed in and this should work flexibly across a number of platforms.
Unfortunately though I don't know if it's possible with OSX. It's a real time-saver in the Windows world though if you have a number of machines to deploy or if you're constantly building/assembling VMs for example.
