Downloading to ipod

Ive had some trouble downloading to the iPod. In iTunes everything seems to go well, but when I look at the iPod(go into songs or anything), nothing is there. I check the memory and I have used about 10gb, but none of it shows up. I checked by going into My Computer and exploring the device, and in the controls folder there are many folders with all the songs, yet still it doesnt show up when I browse on the iPod. Is it because the songs are not compatible, they are all mp3 and play ok in iTunes. Please advise.

Did you name the albums and the artist. When importing from a CD if you are online it will do this automatically, other wise right click and enter it. If you don't then you can't find it in your iPod.

I've had this problem for quite a while. I plug the ipod in and it never downloads the certain songs. I have tried unchecking them and connecting the ipod then checking them back and connecting it again and it will say that it's copying the songs but they're still not on my ipod. Every once in a while it will say ERROR: one or more songs could not be downloaded to ipod touch. They will download to my ipod shuffle but not my ipod touch. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

First step: when you get that Error message in iTunes, there's a disclosure triangle that expands the dialog box and explains exactly why each song failed to sync. What does it say?

Actually, a "requested resource" error message (which I believe you are getting) most of the time has to do with iTunes having a problem with connecting to your iPod, rather than the iPod software update server (although a more rare possibility of this error message could occur in that sense).

Download issues : iPod Touch to Vers 3.1.1

I Have a IPod Touch 8GB on Version 2.2. I have just upgraded to ITunes on my PC to Vers 9.0.1 & am trying to download Apple iPod Touch Vers 3.1.1. I have purchased the software but it does not appear to want to download onto my PC. It says it should take up to 30 Minutes to download and after only a few seconds, i get a message to say it is downloading and click done. However it is not downloading. I've disabled the firewall etc and still no joy! Under the iPod Summary, it says a newer version (3.1.1) is available for download, but when i click on update, a message box comes up saying that i am not connected to the internet when i clearly am. This also happens when i click on the, ''restore'' button. Any suggestions would be greatly received. Thanks in advance.

I downloaded the ipod 1.2 updater on my itunes but did not do the new update to 7 provided today. No problems with my nano. I haven't noticed anything significant that the update has fixed. It simply says that it has "bug fixes" but I don't notice anything. Not sure if I am the only one that can say this and I don't know if it really matters that I didn't do the Itunes update too. Trying to download the iPod program to no avail

I have a 10.2 mac and am trying to download the iPod program - i downloaded the program, and installed it, but all that happens is the lemon attempts to open but then shuts down - is it because I dont have a 10.3 - and is there any way to upgrade... I know nothing about any of this so the less technical the response the better.

Im having that same problem, i have a windows formated ipod and i want to move all the music to my new macbook. and like you i want to do it from my ipod, not networking the comps together. im a bit worried though about using some of these "programs" that say they can do that, since apple seems to be against taking it straight from the ipod.

Possible fix for "problem downloading the IPOD software.." error

I have a click wheel IPOD and after dropping it was forced to restore to factory setting. When attempting to restore, Itunes nor my computer recognized my IPOD and when it finally did I got the message
"These was a problem downloading the Ipod software for the Ipod "Ipod." The requested resource was not found."
I did the 5 steps repeatedly over 2 days with no luck then today I combined advice from a bunch of postings and it worked!
Here's what worked:
1)Bought a new USB 2.0 connect cable.
2)Deleted the folder containing the firmware files: see

3)Delete Ipod updater
4)Restarted computer
5)Download updated Itunes

When I ran the exe file it asked if I wanted to "repair" or "reinstall" I choose "repair".
5)Reset ipod
6)Opened itunes, connected ipod, it took about 10 minutes for itunes to sync with the ipod.
7)Choose restore.
After that it went as normal.
