It could also be just an intermittent fault. You normally get this error when the Software Updater is unable to download the firmware properly. Try again in a day or two and see what happens. If it fails again, you could try another computer or you could also get the phone updated at your local Nokia Care Point.

  • Downloading Update Failed - Internal Module Error

Trying to update my Nokia 6630, and each time it completes the 25mb download before giving me the error.
    Downloading update failes
    Internal module error
Is this because my phone is a a Vodafone fone, and therefore locked by their software to some description? Or is it a more sinister (or simpler) error?

  • Source URL mis-configuration - "Request to download update failed errors"

If you are getting the following error when trying to download patches:
Request to download update 123456-01 failed. Update download
    requests are not possible since the signing certificate is not valid.This can be caused if the patchpro.patch.source has been incorrectly defined without a trailing slash either in the configuration file or supplied as a parameter to the smpatch command. For example, a user may have defined;
         https://getupdates.sun.com/solaris
    Instead of;
         https://getupdates.sun.com/solaris/
This issue has been raised in change request 6396877 and should be resolved in future version of Update Connection to append the trailing slash to the source.

I just can't replicate this in my lab environment, and I am thinking that this is some sort of collateral damage done by the July patch applied by the customer that breaks SQL replication and also causes WSUS Sync issues.  We didn't ever remove that
patch but instead implemented the SQL workarounds but this may just have resolved 'some' of the issues the patch caused.  The annoying thing is that the day we implemented the workaround and proceeded to uninstall/reinstall WSUS and resync SCCM, Microsoft
released the updated version of the patch later that day (UK time) - wonderful timing.

Some 3rd party security software causes this, ie;Norton, check the settings to be sure it is not blocking HPSA from connecting to the internet.
Download and Install the latest version of HPSA from this webpage and try it again

  • Finnickey wireless- downloading updates fail but i can still surf web!!!

    hey all,
I'm proud to say that i just purchased a new iMac. unfortunately, the only form of internet access in my area thus far has been dial-up. however, when i booted up my iMac for the first time, it found a network called "default" that is giving a very strong signal! to my delight, safari opend right up and i was surfing the net high-speed! oddly, when i run "software update" it starts downloading the updates fine, however, if i just let it be, the "estimated time" gets larger and larger until it just says, "--remaining". ultimately the download fails and it says, "...be sure you can connec to the internet." the thing is, i DO have internet access the whole time! and if found that if i'm activel "surfing" the web, and giving it new pages to load, the downloads will continue and stay and at consistent amount of "time remaining". can anyone tell me what might be going on? it is so bizarre. also, i've been told by many companies that high-speed is not available in my area. CLEARLY it is! is there a way i can find out where the signal is coming from or any info about the network? thanx a million! sorry so long.
    David

    thanx a bunch!

  • There was a problem updating InDesign CC For more information see the specific error below.  Update Failed Download error.  Press Retry to try again or contact customer support.(49)

Posted the entire text from the error window, when trying to update, using the normal NON-TECHIE way to update any and all Adobe CC products, via the Creative Cloud updater installed when Adobe Creative Cloud subscription was purchased when first offered.
    The following occurs, ad nauseam:
There was a problem updating InDesign CC
For more information see the specific error below.
    Update Failed
Download error.  Press Retry to try again or contact customer support.(49)
Here's the crux of my frustration:
    (1) Customer Service is NOT contact-able, to receive LIVE help.
    (2) There is NO way for me to mitigate this "Download error", being a student learning InDesign, and NOT in any way capable of tweaking folders/files here and there.
    Therefore, the real question:
Given that a significant number of subscribers are having the above referenced issue with attempting to download the current update for InDesign, WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO, in order to get our contractually paid-for updates to our legally and contractually paid-for Adobe software, specifically in my case, InDesgin's current update?
Please, NO TECHNICAL mumbo-jumbo which most likely will cause the overwhelming majority of users, like me, to seriously corrupt their computer files, but rather an honest, straightforward "what to do" from real CS/Engineers working for Adobe, as to how to FIX this issue, period.
    ===========================================================
    UPDATE:
Here is a way in which I think I was able to "update" my InDesign CC application:
    (1) Sign-In to your Adobe Account
    https://www.adobe.com/
    (2) Click on the MENU icon
    (3) Click on the product InDesign icon
Your browser should display the page for Adobe InDesign CC
    https://www.adobe.com/products/indesign.html?promoid=KLXLU
    (4) Click on the Download icon,
Your browser should now display the page to download InDesign,
    https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/indesign
    (5) a Pop-Up window should open, and display:
      Launch Application
This link needs to be opened with an application.
with the first option to select being the CreativeCloud(URIHandler)
    (5) Select this application and click OK.
What happened when I followed steps (1) thorugh (5) is that:
    (a) InDesign CC(2014) was installed,
    (b) InDesign CC, updated, and then
    (c) InDesign CC(2014), also updated.
Why this all worked, is a mystery to me.
Looks like a separate, "new" version of InDesign, InDesign CC(2014), was installed, the existing "old" InDesign was updated, and then the newly installed Indesign CC(2014) was further updated.
A BIT MORE, when I launched my InDesign CC app, and checked to see if there were Updates Available, there in fact was an Adobe InDesign CC 64 bit (9.2.2) update.
I clicked on UPDATE and my "old" InDesign CC app was "successfully updated."
FURTHER INFO:  I may have neglected to list some important info ... OS:  Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center, 64-bit
Confused, I am able to launch BOTH of these apps, and hopefully I may use one of these versions of the InDesign CC app, to do some InDesign work.
    Will keep y'all posted!

  • Creative Cloud update fails with "the download appears to be corrupted" when tried through our company's firewall, but succeeds if the computer is taken outside the firewall

Creative Cloud update fails with "the download appears to be corrupted" when tried through our company's firewall, but succeeds if the computer is taken outside the firewall. The IT guys have opened up the ports and URL's specified in the Adobe documentation.  I have also captured the network traffic of both the failed and successful downloads for IT to examine (using Little Snitch), however they can find nothing to account for the problem.  Adobe just seems to "give up and die" after about 2-3 minutes.  Why is this?  How can I or IT fix this?
Can I send the above log files to someone familiar with these issues for examination?

Kc2232 I would recommend reviewing the installation log for the update to determine why it is failing to install. For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Storeand turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • Still getting "Software Update Failed" when attempting to download iOS 7 on iPhone 4S.

I've tried countless times now to download iOS 7 on my 4S which is currently running iOS 6.1.3. It downloads completely then in the "Preparing Update..." stage it gives me an error box saying "Software Update Failed. An error occurred downloading iOS 7.0." The same thing happens every time, I've rebooted and reset my pone several times as well as logging in an out of my Apple ID all with no success. It's not like it takes an unusual amount of time downloading or anything, and once it finishes downloading it shows less storage in the "About" section in "Settings" but goes back to where it was once it gives the error message. Just a note, I was able to download iOS 7 on my iPad 3 the day the software was released without a long waiting period or any hassle. I appreciate any input. Thank you.

Thanks for the response. I have 16.5 GB of available space at the moment. I've tried it connected to a wall charger and connected to my wifi, my schools wifi, and my gyms wifi all with no success. I have not tried it from iTunes but after posting this question a few suggestioned discussions came up, one of which recommended backing up to iCloud or iTune and then performing a complete restore. I'm in the process of doing that now, whether it works or doesn't work I will get back to either way. Thanks again.

  • When trying to download the IOS 7.1.1 update I continue to get a message that the update failed?  Please advise!

When trying to download the ISO 7.1.1 update, my iPad goes through the downloading  process and then goes to the preparing mode and after a while returns a message that the "Software Update Failed, an error occurred downloading IOS 7.1.1 ."  Any suggestions?

Make sure anti-virus and other security software is disabled.
    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
