Downloading video from iPhone GS to Mac with Aperture

Hi. I'm struggling with the new iPhone, I use Aperture to manage my photos, and have the phone set to sync with that program rather than iPhoto. When I sync, I do not see my video available to import either in Aperture or iTunes. Any thoughts? Apple's help is not helping, they make it sound like video automagically downloads from the phone. Thanks.

This just got me too. It's a bit stupid but the trick is to make sure you have at least one still photo in the phone camera roll. When importing that photo Aperture will ask you if you want other files (ie the videos) downloaded too. So just take a quick snap before you sync.

This what I've tried so far:
Downloaded photos from the iPhone to the computer. Videos and photos transferred without problem.
Plugged in the iPod Touch (2) and all photos synced just fine, but no video appeared.
While the iPod was connected I looked In the menu bar of iPhoto, when I chose movies, none were listed.
I cannot find an item listed in the settings menues that seem relevant.
I have emailed the movies successfully from the iPhone 4s.

what do you mean downloading videos from iPhone? you mean to get the videos you shoot on your iphone to your computer? This is covered in the User Guide.

Getting movies (not just video) from iPhone 3GS to Mac

I did the following in order (question at end)
captured video using iPhone 3GS
synced video from iPhone to iPhoto on Mac
imported iPhoto video to iMovie
created movie in iMovie
used "Share" feature in iMovie to share the movie in iTunes (so I could play on Apple TV)
synced movie back to iPhone
deleted movie from Mac (where iTunes was accessing it)
Now, the movie content only resides on my iPhone...can I get it back from the iPhone onto my Mac (so I can eventually get it back into iTunes)?

Thanks to Grognard for suggesting this:
Step one: turn off and on your iPhone.
Step Two : launch iTunes and iPhoto
Step three : connect the iPhone to the computer
Then importation will be possible.
Clearly this still seems to be a glitch -- these kinds of work-arounds are a huge pain. Hope an update will solve the problem.

I have a iPhone 4s iOS 7.1.2 and a 2012 MacBook 13" OSX 2.9 i7 dual core on Mavericks 10.9.5
I'm using iPhoto 9.4.3 on my Mac
The issue: after filming several biking videos on my iphone, I ran out of space.
So I 'shared' in a icloud folder I have called 'Bikes'.
I then deleted the video files on my iphone.
The issue: when I got home and tried to sync my iphone pictures and videos to the Mac,
only the photos were synced to the library and the icloud photostream album.
The videos were nowhere.
The videos seem to be only available to view on the iphone icloud album.
The only way to share the video is to share the entire album and force the sharees to open an icloud account (something I do not want to inflict on friends).
Creating a smart album on iphoto to find all videos doesn't help either as the videos aren't on the hard drive, they're on icloud.
How can I get back control of my video content? I simply want to download MY OWN videos to MY OWN hard drive.
Would an upgrade to Yosemite help me? Would this enable one to access one's own video content in icloud and be able to download it to one's own hard drive?
Anyone else frustrated by iphoto/icloud video limitations?

But I'm cool with creating private and shared albums, thing is, they are not the same depending on whether you view them from an iPhone and MacBook.
The same iCloud/photo stream album eg. 'Bikes' contains pictures and videos when viewed from an iPhone but when viewed from a MacBook, the videos have mysteriously disappeared.
All I want to do is:
1/ Download the video files from iPhone iCloud to my iPhone (4s on iOS 7.1.2) Camera Roll (not possible)
2/ Download from MacBook iPhoto/Photos stream/album to my MacBook hard drive, but it's not currently possible (osx 10.9.5).
The only place where these particular videos are is in the iPhone version of iCloud/photo stream album. I (increasingly regrettably) deleted the original videos from my iPhone Camera Roll after I had added the videos to the iCloud photo stream album. I know I can easily download photos from my iphone/icloud photostream album but downloading a selected video gives me a greyed out sharing option button.
Reading about Yosemite upgrades on my 2012 MacBook (2.9 i7 dual core, 8Go RAM) I am very, very wary about upgrading my MacBook to Yosemite and Photo just for this issue, especially if I still can't access my video file and have to face hours of data recovery/formatting and full reinstall! Not to mention risking having incompatibility issues with my database/analytics software!

This would be done the same way you would get pictures or video from a digital camera. On a Mac, I believe it is with iPhoto, but you import the file like a picture.

Open iphoto
Connect iphone
Import pics/vids
1.Open iPhoto
2.Connect your iphone 6 to Mac
3.iphoto will display your photo on iphone, just choose whatever you want to transfer.
4.Click "Import selected" on the right top. Or you can click "Import ** photos" if you want to transfer all photos from iphone to Mac.
That's it. Very simple steps to tranfer pictures from iphone to Mac.

Cannot transfer videos from iPhone 4s to PC with Vista--HELP!!

Have valuable videos of my Dad (his health is declining rapidly) on my iPhone 4s. I want to download them to my PC, which uses Vista. This has been incredibly difficult. I used the most updated version of QuickTime, with no luck. The videos will transfer, but I cannot open them. Would purchasing QuickTime Pro help, or is this a waste of money? I have so many videos on my phone that I can't back it up. Need to transfer them ASAP.

I know how important these are to you and will do my best to help. The first question I have is how are you importing these videos? Any error messages received when attempting to play these videos? Video importing does require Quicktime 7.6.2 or later. Below, I have listed the article on how to import your photos. I took some video over christmas using my iphone 4 and ever since i have been trying to back up these videos for safe keeping. When i tried to back up to my computer's c drive only the smallest file would load, the other 2 the icon would appear but no data was present in properties. so i then tried to drag and drop to my seagate 3tb GoFlex hard drive and i would also get icons but no data. It seems to me this would be a simple process anyone know the answer? I have windows xp and can seem to move everything else around without any problem just seems to be video as the problem?
