Downloading video without a computer?

A friend of mine will be overseas for over a month and will not have access to a computer while she is there - is there a way for me to upload video so that she may download it using wifi and watch it on her Iphone?

No - as already provided, transferring iTunes content from an iTunes library requires a direct connection with iTunes on the computer via USB. Movies/video cannot be purchased and downloaded via the iTunes store access on an iPhone.

How do I download video to my computer?

I'm new to the world of video. I just bought a Sony DCR-HC21 camcorder and I would like to import the video to iMovie4 the same way I import my photos to iPhoto. The camera did not come with a firewire cable, and I assume that I will need this to import the video.
Once I get the firewire cable, does iMovie work like iPhoto, just connect the camera and import or do I need thirdparty software to import video?

Get a good quality, shielded cable. There have been numerous postings about problems where it turned out the poster's cheap FW cable had gone bad.
(I have NO idea if the cables from allelectronics.com are good or bad)

iTunes will not play WMV files (it will convert unprotected WMA). You'll have to convert your WMV files to a format iTunes can accept.

Quicktime Pro won't let me download video

I've just upgraded Quicktime to Quicktime Pro so that I can download video from my Canon digital camcorder for use with Logger Pro for my physics classes.
Quicktime now shows several options that weren't available with just the player, but it does not show the option to open a "New Video Recording" as the online help file says it should. I have my camcorder connected to my pc by firewire and it works fine to download video to my computer with Windows Movie Maker.
Any ideas?

QuickTime Pro for Windows does not allow "New Video Recording". Audio files only.
New video recording is only a feature of the Mac version of the Pro upgrade.
Use Movie Maker to create your files and convert them to QuickTIme formats using the Pro upgrade.

Cannot get Firefox to download videos

After uploading a YouTube viseo. stopping download, Firefox will not show panel to download video to my computer. Please advise action needed. Was OK yesterday!

Using add-on Easy YouTube downloader 6.5 Usually I get a video up on Firefox, immediately stop the download, click 'download' choose Flv 360 and expect to see a panel showing video details which I click OK. When I try to view my downloaded video footage all my computer gives me is a jpeg image.

I just purchased a Canon Vixia HF R300 camcorder, downloaded the Pixela Transfer Version 2.5, and imported a sample video from my camera to my four-year-old Dell laptop that runs of Windows XP. The Pixela program showed that the import was completed without a problem, but then when I tried to play the video all that my computer would give me is a single jpeg image from the video. That' it. Just one still of the opening shot. What happened to the video?
Thanks for you help. It's enough that I have to purchase an external mic in order to escape the sound of the camera, now I can't even play my videos on my computer. Dang.

The movies from your camcorder are stored in the MTS or MP4 format, depending on the settings.
When transferring movies, please ensure that your camera is in the movie playback mode.

You'll want to enable Manually Manage Music and Videos. Once you do that you'll be able to drag and drop the music from the computer to the iPod.

If the music you are wanting to have on your iphone was purchased through itunes you can then go to your front display to settings>itunes and app store from there you have a toggled switch that allows you to automatically download music and apps by toggling the switch. You will need to toggle the switch below these switchs that allows for cellular data to be enabled if this has not already been enabled. This then will automatically download music and apps directly to your device with no additional charge to you.
