is it possible to download a movie to your ipod straight from windows media player or iTunes, havn't found a way yet. do i have to download a decrypter or is there a faster and easier way?

If your movie contains multiplexed flies ("muxed"), then Quicktime won't do it. You'll end up with video and no audio for your movie when playing it back on your iPod.

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.

Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
SharePod is also freeware.

Nano doesn't load and play video, BUT if your just wanting to transfer a video file from one PC to another you can do that.

Downloading Video: Converting Video (Movie to IPOD)

HELP!!! I am soooo frustrated with Quick Time Pro!!! I am just trying to download a video to my IPOD and the video converts and downloads fine using Quick Time Pro but there is no volume when i open the converted file. I have tried a number of different videos and installing the Pro Key again and nothing seems to work. It is also so annoying that it takes over an hour to download each video!! Before I convert the file the volume is fine.
If anyone has run into this problem, please let me know!!!

I am having a similar problem.
I ust upgraded to Quicktime Pro in order to convert existing video/movie files to either MPG-4, Quicktime Movie and/or iPod format, to play on my iPod.
It seems the conversion works fine, as it appears in my file folder as either MPG-4 or Quicktime Movie. When I open the files (either format), Quicktime application opens but will not play the file. The title of the file appears across the top of the application, but when I click play, the timer and timer bar runs across the screen rapidly with nothing happening!!!

How can I download videos/movies using idownload app?

I bought the Idownload app for my iPad a few days back, but I can't download any video/movie. When I tap on a link, it gives me the following options: open or download. After choosing download video and specifying path and name for the file, it only downloads a file less than 200 kb. What should I do? I would also appreciate if someone can give me names of websites from which I can download full length American movies.

We cannot help you to obtain illegal copies of feature films. Unless there is a legal download store selling such movies in your country, such as the iTunes Store or Amazon, you will need to purchase DVDs and watch them on your computer.

Download videos on my ipod

i bought a new video ipod for the single reason to watch videos on my ipod and they wont synce. I called the tech support and they wouldnt tell me but they said it could be done, so can someone tell me how i put downloaded music videos on my ipod

How to transfer video/movie to ipod from iTunes?

Recently, I have got my new iPod Touch 4G. I succesfully transfered songs/apps from iTunes to my iPod Touch. But I don't know how to transfer video/movie to my iPod. I can't add a movie/video clip to iTunes ( File-> Add file to Library).
Is there any video format conversion required?

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Downloading "HOME" movies to iPod

My new iPod works great -- syncs photos and music just fine. But now I've tried to download home-made movies. NOT purcahsed Music Store movies. Just movies from my own digital camera of family events. Converted them to Quicktime. No matter what QT format I attempt, iPod won't accept them.....? I just called Apple's iPod team and the guy said, literally, that as far as he know the iPod only accepts commercial films and shows bought from the iTunes store! surely this can't the truth....! iTunes accepts my homemade movies fine....and I can sync them just fine to my new Apple TV (which, by the way, I LOVE)....... What gives? Is this true? I this is all wrong, please write me back, because I have another question: Now that I've added these QT files to my Mac's movies folder, the iTunes devise manager recognize and sees the movies under the MOVIES tab. But if I click on SYNC, i get that warning that syncing them to the iPod will erase all my exiting movies and photos and music! What good is that. Thanks -- actually I just discovered this answer right before you replied. Turns out that the MOVIES tab in the iPod device manager does, in fact, contro iPod syncing for commercially bought movies.
You don't even need it. you load the movie into iTunes, then control-click and choose the "convert to iPod format." Now you have two copies of the movies in iTunes. Then you just drag the new one down below into the iPod's MOVIE album (assuming, of course, your device manager is set for Manual management)

Importing Videos & Movies to IPOD

Can I import DVDs that I own into my itunes library? Or do I have to purchase them from itunes store.
I thought I would be able to import the ones I already own. Any help?

You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) and use the external Adobe Reader application or Preview application instead.

PDF files may also be found under another entry like Portable document.

I want to play a downloaded video from my ipod touch on my tv, everything I've read so far talks about jailbreaking my ipod and this is something I really don't want to do. My tv has HDMI, USB and AV cable ports, I've tried plugging in via the USB with the standard cable but nothing happens, do I need a different cable or an app to make it work. Thanks.

You need an adopter, See:

or using AirPlay with an Apple TV
Note that only the 5G iPod mirrors the iPod's screen on a TV. The 4G and below only display TV out with apps that support TV out

Because it's a rather complexed operation and HD is so much larger (more pixels) to try to get right.
So there are much better way's
• record with use of tripod or any other stabilizing method
• when recording use Optical Image Stabilizing (if Your Camera has this)
• ev. use electronic ImageStabilizing - but this Zooms in a bit and cost's a bit of resolution
(This cost is same as what happens in any post-recording ImageStabilization as in iMovie or FinalCut)
Most often one use a combination of all three of them.
