Downloading XI pro trial when I'm already running XI standard?

Hi, I currently own XI standard (Windows 8) and would like to try XI pro, primarily for pdf --> ppt. However, when I try to download the XI pro trial the download assistant states that I'm already running a more updated version and the XI pro trial download is halted. Do I need to uninstall XI standard first? Other suggestions? Thanks

Stantheman yes you will need to remove any previous installations of Acrobat prior to install Adobe Acrobat XI Professional on Windows 8.

in QT, go to QT Player > about QT Player
if it shows a QT pro logo you have upgraded to pro OK
If not, did you include the full details in the registered to box, eg> "Mr John Smith"
also, copy and paste the reg code from Apples email, dont type it in.

Creative Cloud will only list programs for which your machine meets the system requirements. Check the requirements and compare to your machine to see if/where the incompatibility arises.

It sounds like you've installed Mavericks. You can confirm this by clicking on the Apple located at the top left of the screen and choosing "About This Mac" from the menu. You should see a window appear with the text "Version 10.9.1" near the middle.
If it says "Version 10.9.1", then you've installed Mavericks. It still says "Download" in the App Store because you can still download the operating system after installing it. This is useful if you want to download it for a friend, or create a USB boot drive.

How do I download Premier Pro trial on Mac Core 2 Duo 10.6.8?

Trying to download a Premiere Pro Trial on Mac Core 2 Duo 10.6.8. Even the oldest version of Premiere Pro is fine but I am not given an option when I try and download. Have also tried on Firefox. When I click download Adobe says that my system no longer supports this version and no where can I include the details of my system.
Please help. I suck at this sorta biz and it's rather urgent!

As an aside, Premiere Elements 13 (latest version of Premiere Elements) no longer supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OSX 10.7. And, if you look at the Premiere CC 2014 System Requirements, it looks like your 10.6.8 is not supported.

How do I download Mavericks when I am already running it?

I want to make a boot memory stick for Mavericks, but I can´t seem to download Mavericks from the App store. Is that because I am already running the latest version? If so does anyone know how I can download it?

All ok now. If I search for Mavericks, I get all the applications relating to Mavericks, if I click on Mavericks (the OS) it takes me into the info page, when I select Mavericks its asks for Password as normal but nothing happens. But if I click download next to Mavericks in the search results box it works. Strange

Acrobat X Pro (trial) giving different output then Acrobat X Standard

I downloaded and used Acrobat-X Pro (trial version) on a 200 page MS WORD file that was full of photos and it created a 133MB PDF (I ran in Press mode). The trial ran out, so I deinstalled and then installed a licensed Acrobat-X Standard version. I created a PDF using the very same file (again in 'Press' mode in case that has some bearing) and now the PDF file is only 107MB AND worse yet the contrast in the photos is higher and colors are a bit brighter!! (neither of which I want because I have already published the PDF of Acro-X version). What is the difference between the two Acrobat-X versions (Pro vs Standard) that would cause the Acro-X Standard version PDF to be 20% smaller and the images to be different than Acro-X Pro?

You should be grateful that it won't open b/c you can't un-install it!!! If you really want it, buy it and then run it. I can't get my "Trial" version to un-install.

I've been using FF for years and lately have been having issues with internet access. Worked through the troubleshooting suggestions and got it working, but last night FF couldn't connect to internet after something updated and my Norton anti virus was gone too and I couldn't fix it. The last resort was to delete my ff and download new, so I did. When I clicked on run I got a pop up asking what program I wanted to open it with and of course nothing worked. By then it was 1:30 am so I quit. Today I'm having the same issue and I'm at the end of my rope trying to figure out what to do. I'm so disgusted and can't stand it.

Detecting serial ports when program is already running

hi, i've tried detecting the available ports of my computer usingEnumeration portList = CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers ();
while (portList.hasMoreElements()) { ... }, i use it when my program starts to run and it works well. but i have a button which can give users option to change the port for which he wants to use.. and a port may not be available when the porgram started and may be available when the program is already running (i'm using a serial-to-USB cable so i can just plug and unplug it), i'm using the same code as above but it only detects the ports that i detected from the beginning, not including the new ports... does anyone know what i'm doing wrong? thanks!

Downloaded AA Pro trial version on my MAC it expired, I uninstalled it and I still cannot see pdf's

Can someone help? I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro for a free trial on my MAC and realized how expensive it was and decided not to buy it. I was unable to open up pdf documents so I uninstalled the Pro and now I can open pdf that are in my "documents" but some of the professional publications that I subscribe to have a web version of the publiation in a web pdf format and all I'm getting is a black screen. Any thoughts suggestions? I feel like AA has taken my computer hostage. It shouldn't be like this! Help??? Thanks in advance!

install a pdf reader for your browser.
installing adobe acrobat reader will do that for you: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
untick mcafee unless you're certain you want it.

Try using a different browser for the download.
As an aletrnative you can download the trial version of the software thru the site linked below which does not involve the download manager.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.
