Downloading ZEN V softw

Can anyone help me with downloading the relevant software so that my ZEN V can sync. with my PC as i've lost the disk that came with it, though all I want is to sync. music and use the musec player on my PC and maybe use it for CD burning, nothing else. I've tried unsuccessfully wondering if I should be downloading them in a certain order. i'm at my wits end thinking of binning the blasted thing. Please help!!

I don't think the Zen V works with WinME.
Microsoft? Windows? XP[/b] (Service Pack or higher) / XP 64-bit
You can get the software by clicking the Support menu on the Creative banner at the top of the page-->Downloads-->MP3 Players-->Zen-->Zen V, click Next, chose your Language and Operating System, click Go and select the software you need, but I think you need XP with Service Pack or 2 for it to work.

  • Download Zen Boot CD's and Compiling Network Drivers

Sorry for the last sevral posts. I have never been sent off on Linux
training to this is all relatively new to me.
Question 1) Are there a few websites that allow you to download Zen Boot
Cd's? Also, I would like to get my hands on a Zenworks 6.5 SP2 Zen Boot
    CD?
Question 2)we are using Zenworks 4.01 ir7 (2.4.31 kernel) and just got a
shipment of Dell Optiplex 745 computers in that use the Broadcom network
driver for the 5754 chipset. I went to Novell and got the Zenworks
4.01ir7 imaging source code (compiling the driver), got the newest
Broadcom Network driver for the 5754 chipset and it was tested with the
2.4.31 kernel and it works, I also have VMWAre Workstation and also
downloaded the Suse Enterprise Server 9 Virtual Machine Workstation from
    Novell as well.
Is this everything I will need in order to compile the new Broadcom 57xx
network driver for the 5754 chipset or will I need other utilties etc..?
Question 3) Is there good documentation on how to compile a network driver
or any other driver using the 2.4.31 kernel or any other kernel (i.e.
    2.6.xx_ for that matter?
Question 4) Once the driver is compiled what do I do next? Is there
something I have to import into my existing Zenworks 4.01 ir7 boot cd?
Thanks! Sorry for all the questions, I'm trying my best to learn some
about linux and would appreciate some guidance!

  • Help with the Zen Microphoto softw

I just received the Zen Micro Photo for chrsitmas and have been unable to load the software. I;m running WindowsME and it won;t download- says it's not supported by my system. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

The message its saying is correct. The Zen Micro Photo will not work with Windows ME. It was designed for Windows XP machines only, as it needs Windows Media Player 0 to be installed.
However! If you got a cd labeled "Easy CD" then you should be able to install Windows Media Player 9 and use your Micro Photo with that only. All Creative programs will not work and it will not show up in Windows Explorer either, just Windows Media Player 9.

  • Problems installing zen micro softw

    Hello
I bought myself recently a new 5GB Zen Micro Silver.
Most went well with installing the drivers and software (besides the fact that Zen Micro Media Explorer doesn't recognize when the zen is connected) and firmware as well.
The problems started when I wanted to update CMS (Creative Media Source) and ZMME (Zen Micro Media Explorer).
I downloaded both softwares from the support section in this site.
When I try to install CMS 3.30.2 , I extracted the files from the .exe , then the installing window goes down to taskbar and nothing! no setup window, no finish message... just nothing. In a quick check on the Task manager, the task is in "Non-responding' status.
When I try to install ZMME (not sure about the version, but it's from July 3 2005), again, it extracts the files from the .exe file , it DOES show a setup window and then suddently another window opens in the task bar, and when I go over it, an error message appears (-50:0x80040707) and closes both windows once I hit "ok".
    PLEASE HELP!

    Hi,
Sorry to hear you are having problems. Not something I've seen before, I'd say maybe reattempt the download in case of corruption but there are usually CRC errors from the install if that is the case.
A few installation tips would be.
) Turn off programs running inthe background. Run MSCONFIG in Services click the Hide MS Service and deselect all there. In startup turn off (uncheck) all programs there.
    2) Try clearingout the c:documents and settings/"username"/local settings/temp folder (its a hidden folder so make sure you have the view all files enabled in Windows Explorer options.
    Hope this helps

  • Trouble with Zen VPlus softw

I have a Zen VPlus. I just installed the programs on the installation CD to my laptop, but now I keep getting a "friendly reminder" to register my player. Which I have already done. This reminder will not go away, not even if I hit the (X) button in the upper right corner of the window. I also cannot uninstall the Creative Resistration part of the programming, which would have been the first way I would have tried to fix it.
    Anyone have any advice?

    Hi,
    You could try this article.
    Best of luck.

  • JUKEBOX ZEN XTRA SOFTW

    Hi,
I have a Jukebox Zen XTRA model MP3 player but am unable to find application software that would recognize it and would allow me to organize/upload songs. So far, I have unsuccessfully tried the "Creative MediaSource Software Update version 2.03.29" under the support section but please let me know if there is any other software available that could help.
    thanks in advance,

A word of warning while you are looking through all the software available...... Don't update the Firmware to the Plays-for-Sure version unless you have done a search on this forum first. Lots of people have had difficulty installing it and have bricked their Zen Xtra in the process. I still have the original .20.08 firmware and am extremely happy with it. My ZenXtra 30GB is still going strong and I use it for storing audiobooks and music. It is the old "Don't fix it if it ain't broke".
If your player already has had the "Plays-forSure" Firmware sucessfully installed, then I would say, lucky you.

  • Cannot completely uninstall Nomad Zen Xtra softw

I needed to uninstall the software that came with the nomad zen xtra 40GiG player. So i first uninstalled the software and then the drivers, however in my computer it still displayed the adapter to the player as a dri've. Now mind me I wouldnt care much but now whenever I plug in any usb device my computer cannot detect it because the current slot is taken.
So I installed advance uninstalled pro 2004 and looked arround yet there was no trace of the driver, software or anything even related to creative. So I did the next step, I used Registery Mechanic and found some broken registrys which I promptley deleted, but now on loadup I still have that dri've, the only diffrence is the nomad icon does not appear there anymore, its replaced by the default icon that any file recieves when it cannot be linked to a software.
    How can I remove it's
    any Ideas?
    Using Windows XP SP2
    with USB 2.0
    Thank you for your time

Use Driver Cleaner Pro http://www.drivercleaner.net/ free ware that cleans out drivers,.sys.ini,inf and registry settings.
It cleans completely and does not dump to the recycle bin so use caution,I use JV6 which I find not only better at cleaning but much safer than System Mechanic(in fi've years of use It has never hosed my system) you can find the last free version(full function-no time limit) @ http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=jv6 or the new pay version @ http://www.jv6.org/
Many functions to clean, including full scan and search by software(I would try this method)
If you have a Creative Sound card SB Li've or Audigy they include a driver clean up utility CTZAPXX.exe look for it in the C:\Program Files|Creative\Program folder or on your Install disc,it may be available here on Creative Support site or a google search will return many hits.
If you can't find it P.M. me and i will e-mail or post it up on a web site for you.
<B><I>Just one more caution on working in your registry, always a good idea to back up the registry or set a "restore point" prior to altering the registry,if your not comfortable doing these things stop and ask some one for assistance</I></B>
Good luck and report back any success

  • Got a Vision M, do I need to delete my zen touch softw

    Hi,
I just brought a vision M. I still have my zen touch, and want to keep it.
To install the new software do I need to delete the old software, or will it just install on top (without deleting my old music)

The battery won't be effected if you don't let it run down to be dead. Honestly it charges faster on the USB cable if the device is on and plugged in. So if it has charged enough to turn on, I would turn it on and plug it in so its recognized by windows and it will charge faster. Just don't let the battery run down, as the limitation with USB charging devices is that they get much less current to charge on if windows can't recognize it.
So if you run the battery down to close to dead, it will take you that much longer to recharge so its best to keep the units mostly charged.

  • Installing Zen Sleek Photo 20 GB software over Zen Sleek softwa

I have a Zen Sleek 20 GB that can't/won't be fixed. I just purchased a refurbished Zen Sleek Photo GB. My question is - can I just install the Zen Sleek Photo software over the Zen Sleek's software Or, do I have to uninstall the Zen Sleek's software first Thanks

It's probably a good idea to uninstall your Zen Sleek's software before installing the Zen Sleek Photo's.
That said, I run 4 different Creative .mp3 players on my computer and haven't had issues with them. Still, it's probably a good idea to uninstall the older software.

  • Zen Sleek Softw

I've upgraded my Zen?Sleek firmware.Following that I tried to install the upgrade software but the result was the following error during installation:0x80040707?In Safe Mode I managed to install all updates for my Zen Sleek apart from the one which asks 'please connect your player'. Since i'm in Safe Mode the drivers are not loaded and i cannot continue the installation. I can still use the Creative products, such as Import Manager, CD Ripping Wizard and Sync Manager etc. by opening the .exe's in the Program Files. I also installed all the software and updates on a second PC (Dell laptop) and everything works fine!Does anybody know how to enable drivers in Safe Mode?

  • Reinstalling Zen Micro Softw

My computer had a heat problem. New parts
installed , etc but had to reload the Operating
System. I am trying to install using the
Installation CD but on the Welcom screen it
tells me that DemoShield Player has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
    inconvenience.
When I click on the error report I get:
    AppName: demo32.exe AppVer: 7.52.00.007
    ModName: quicktime.qts
    ModVer: 7.0.2.20 Offset: 000d9b55
I have tried this over 0 times and shut down and
restarted and the same thing happens. Please
help. I didn't have this problem when I first
loaded this on my system. Thanks

    phillyohgal,
There's a issues with some older version of quicktime. Try installing the latest version of quicktime available from the internet before running the installation CD. Alternati'vely, you can uninstall quicktime from the computer first before running the installation CD.

  • Burning mp3 cds on zen mirco softw

the creative solutions software has apparently got a default setting for its mp3 burn list thats alphabetical which means no matter what order i put the tracks (theres lots of them) on the list it reorders them. which is a complete wind up. also the file names in joliet? script will only be accepted if they are less than 64 characters which many of them arent.can anybody help please.
    regards lloyd

    - First of all, lloydlove is burning a data CD, not audio CD. My guess is that when he replied SSR that he is burning "audio", he was actually referring to burning MP3 files into a MP3 data CD.
    - When burning in to an MP3 data CD, the notion of track order does not apply. There is no such thing as track order for MP3 data CD. An MP3 data CD simply contains MP3 files. You can choose to view the files in whichever order you want by clicking the Windows Explorer's column. For example, to view by Filename order, by file date order, etc. You can also view by artist order, album order if you enable the artist and album column in WIndows Explorer. So, this is not a problem with MediaSource.
    - The current MediaSource uses Joliet format. I do not see any settings to use otherwise. So, for now, you have to bear with the limitation of the filename.

  • Firmware Download

First, my 5GB zen micro was frozen and i couldn't get it to play anything, so i performed a disk cleanup from the recovery menu. Then i rebooted and after my library got rebuilt, it said "firmware problem".
I then ran Reload Firmware, and Format All, but neither worked. I then went to the downloads link of the creative website and downloaded Zen Micro_PCFW_LB__02_05_PDE. I then proceded to run the program and the screen said my current player firmware version was .0.03; and my upgrade file version was .02.05. When i clicked on upgrade, however, an error popped up. It said,
"-Creative MediaSource is interfering with the flash program. Please close the application" Then i checked, and Creative MediaSource was never runnning. And after several failed attempts, i need help. So, how can i sucessfully download the .02.05 firmware version? (I have Window XP, if that helps any).

Thanks so much!!! But i have one more question. Before this whole filmware thing happened, i wasn't able to listen to any of the songs i put on from my cd's. I uploaded all my cd's onto my comp from windows media player 0 right when i got windows XP. Then when i got my 5 GB zen micro, i imported the music straight from my comp to the device. I think it is a problem with the format of those files being in wma, and not mp3. If that is true, how do i change it's

  • Zen Cast Organizer? Zen X

Has anyone downloaded the latest Zencast organizer? its in the download section released 2day. i was wondering if anyone downloadded it and seen an improvement. Does Zen Cast organizer load everything quicker to view ur music on ur computer? or is it the same. Basically im trying to ask . SHould i Download Zen Cast? because i haven't downloaded it at all. Please respond.

I would also like to know how the Program works with non-video playing players, like the Zen Xtra. There are a lot of angry Zen Vision:M owners who are beyond frustrated with the program and it converting MP3 -> AVI.
When it transfers the files to the device, where does it put them, how to you get to them on the player?
I am thinking if it would be possible, with some kind of registery hack or something to convince the software that the device it is copying the podcasts to is a Zen Xtra, or simialr, and it can't play video.Message Edited by alloneword on 09-09-2006 02:47 PM
