Downloads disappear

When I download a podcast it goes through the process, then disappears.

Are you looking in the iPod app to see if it is in there? You can also do a search for it. Go to your home screen and swipe to the right to bring up the search feature. Type in the name of the podcast and if it shows up in the search, tap on it and it should start to play. Let it play for a short period of time, tap done, then see if it is in the iPod app.

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

Mountain Lion download disappeared.

Hi, I need your help. I've purchased Mountain Lion, and I tried to download it. I've reached 4.22 GB out of 4.34 GB when suddenly the internet connection disconnected. When I tried to connect again, my download disappeared. I've tried to go to Purchase on Mac App Store but it isn't there. Now I have to re-download it again from the beginning. That really *****. Is there any way I can resume my download? It is only 100 MB left..

Often in accidents such as this the purchase has become hidden in your account. Open the Mac App Store, sign into your account by clicking the Account link in the Quick Links on the right side of the Featured pane and in your account look for the section In the iCloud. This is where you can unhide any apps that are hidden. If Mt Lion is there unhide it and you should be able to download again from the Purchased pane. I don't know if it will resume or do another complete download.

Downloads disappear from folder

I have downloaded some music and when it has completed the task, the download file disappears. Hasn't done this before, files always remain in download folder.

Launch Finder.
Finder > File > Find
When the Finder window opens up, enter the name of the music file in the search box at the top right corner.
It will show up in the Finder under “Name”.
Right click on it and select “Reveal in Finder” from contextual menu.
The resulting Finder window will show the location.

Downloads disappeared from dock, finder, and applications

the downloads icon disappeared from dock, from applications, and gone in finder. one day it was there, the next it was gone.
i made a new folder and put it in dock and added it to finder, but my downloads are not going into the file even though that's where i direct it to go.
where did the original go and how can i get it back.?

Downloads disappear after finishing?

So about 5 days ago this problem started.
I've tried everything, uninstalling, reinstalling, installing older versions of Firefox, everything in the help file about this, going into about:config to set scanning to false, uninstalling my virus program (avast), etc.
They only thing I didn't try is restore points because they didn't go back far enough.
What could this possibly be? The moment the download finished it's absolutely gone.

I go to download and everything seems fine, even in the destination folder. Then once complete it disappears and is not on computer. I have done all the suggestions and reset configurations.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Downloads disappear instantly Snow Leopard

For several weeks downloads to my Mac Pro (10.6.8 with Parallels) have been disappearing the instant the download completes, regardless of where the download is coming from. Any ideas how to fix this?

I really appreciate your effort to help here but I'm not convinced that the Amazon Cloudplayer is loaded with bugs. I've found that system to be flawed in the past and believe this download failure is partly due to that even if there is a problem also with the OS.
The file that entered the computer after the latest attempt to download some .mp3s was not an .mp3 but rather this:

a very small file, which, when clicked on, does nothing but open an IE window that remaind permanently in a "Connecting..." mode.
I think I'll need to revisit this problem with another fresh example that steers clear of the Amazon Cloudplayer arises. Being able to download a file to the Mac is obviously an important function.
In the meantime, thanks for your attention to this.

I have developed this problem in the last two months. I try to download files, anything from a jpg on hotmail to a service patch. It tells me it's downloading, gives me the time remaining bar and al lthat, says it's going to a temprary folder (or where I have assigned it to go), the bar message dissapears and the file is....NOWHERE. It seems to disappear. It does not appear in a folder I assign it to. There is nothing in my temporary folders. I havebeen messing with this for a couple weeks..I can not figure it out.
help ?

try removing norton and start downloads then if its sucessful surely there s a problem with norton

Older magazine downloads disappear from 'Newstand'..

I am very sorry if this is the wrong area to post this question but I looked for a long time without being able to find an appropriate place to star this discussion. I am a current subscriber to Thrasher Skateboarding magazine, and WIRED magazine.. and I like the concept of Newstand.. however whenever I download the new issue of a magzine it appears in 'Newstand' in replacement of the prebious issues or any magazines I have. So I never have any more then 1 magazine on the shelf at a time. For insstane I downloaded the October issue of WIRED... and it appeared in Newstand, and then when the November issue came out and I downloaded it.. the October issue disappeared and the new issue was the only one there. None of my other magazine downloads are in it either. Leaving me with only one magazine in Newstand at any given time.
Can anyone explain why this is to me and how I fix it so all magazines (from subscribtion and one of purposes as well) appear in Newstand?

Hi there. Each of the magazines in Newsstand are actually individual apps in their own right. Newsstand is just a 'shelf' where these apps sit, instead of being on your desktop (like other non-magazine apps). Therefore, there's no way to set how the magazines behave collectively. Instead, each magazine is configured inside each app. For example, I have the Guardian Newspaoer app within Newsstand - in order to set how it shows previous editions, I have to go into the app via Newsstand, then go to settings within the app itself and set it to 'forget editions older than 1 week.' There is only ever one Guardian app in Newsstand and I access the various editions that I've downloaded within the Guardian App. Your magazines should work in the same way. Hope this helps.

Are you using Firefox 3.6 or Firefox 4?? Your "More system details..." link shows that you have turned off storing of history using a Firefox 4 preference (places.history.enabled), but your post says Firefox 3.6.17.
Anyway, the general history setting affects not only site URLs, but also downloads. To treat them separately, go to
Tools > Options > Privacy
and change to Custom history settings. Does that solve it?

How do I receive a picture message after the notification to download disappeared?

I received a notification of a text msg not received. I was expecting to receive a photo from someone, so I knew I would have to download it. I clicked on the wrong thing and the notification disappeared. Now there is nothing for me to click on to download this message, and I don't see anything showing about a failed message. How do I retrieve this? Device is a Droid Razr M.

LenaA_VZW, I actually ended up chatting with someone from Verizon support about this the other day and we weren't able to resolve it. We checked the available memory, and actually I had recently deleted 300+ photos and some apps so I should be ok on that end. I don't think I have a memory card in the phone. In the 2 years I have had this phone, I have never been able to send photos, but I was always able to receive them. Oddly enough, I was able to send a photo when we were troubleshooting the other day, but I wasn't able to receive. She had me put my phone in safe mode and she tried to send me a photo in safe mode, but it still didn't work. In the end, the last option she had for me to try was to backup my phone and then do a complete reset, but I didn't want to try that yet as I didn't want to risk losing anything. It would be nice if I could resolve this, but I'm planning to upgrade to a new phone probably in about 6 months, so if I have to just deal with not being able to receive picture texts until then, I will. If you have any suggestions or ideas of what could fix this though, I definitely will try!

Can't DownloadFirefox for Mac. download disappears from download window in safari. pop up windows are not blocked.

I have watched firefox download. Once it is complete it disappears from the download window in Safari.
My pop up blocker is shut off.
I can download when I am in Administrator mode but not under individual username account.

You should be able to check in Safari to find where downloads are going, in Preferences > General. You can also change the download directory for Safari. If you cannot get Safari to work on that computer, maybe download Firefox on some other computer and transfer the file on a flash stick or CD.

Creative Cloud downloads disappearing from Windows 7 desktop

When ever I download an application from Adobe Creative Cloud it will open the first time just fine, but once I close that application out it disappears from my desktop and side panel and becomes an empty script.
The applications download to my hard drive and i see them there I just can not access them for some reason. I have tried to disable firewalls and other security programs but that did not work, im at a loss of what
it could be and have not been able to find anyone else with this problem so far. This is a new PC build so I may need to download a few thing that im not aware of for these applications to stay on my desktop/side panel.
I have downloaded flash player and other adobe recommended products and they too seem to vanish, or not work for me.
