Downloads fail - File & Font sync disabled OSX Mavericks

this is more of a bug report than a question but im leaving it here for whoever can fix the problem.
I am running OSX 10.9 (mavericks) and everytime i open the Creative cloud desktop application, it says at the bottom "File and Font syncing is Off - Resume sync"
but when i resume, it takes a few seconds generally and then stops syncing and returns with that message again (also there is a pause icon on the cc menu bar icon)
and i now have an update for Flash professional CC, but whenever i try to update, it prompts me for my password, then after i type it in, after a few seconds  it says "The update failed, the file appears to be corrupted, try again in a few minutes"
but it never works...
anyway! no other issues just wondering if there is a fix?

Toggle_Norvell did you search the installation log for the word error?  Which Flash Professional CC update exactly are you trying to apply?  As a general suggestion you could remove your current installation, reinstall, and try applying the update again.  Without knowing the exact error though you are facing it is difficult to determine if this will resolve your current difficulties or not.  You may also want to review Installation failed. For File sync difficulties you will need to work directly with our support team.

    Before Mavericks, when I updated a file on my mac, I would just drop & drag to dropbox. When I tried it today instead of the file being put in dropbox, it put a folder, and in the folder were many files, I had to click the "preview" to see the file.  I want to be able just to click on the file, not a folder in dropbox to see my document.  (This particular one was a numbers spreadsheet)

    I think I figured it out.  I went to the Dropbox forum.  So I guess if I want Dropbox to work the same for me as it did before, I have to downgrade pages & numbers, does that sound correct?  Ridiculous!  The reason I am using dropbox for my very personal files is so none of those files are on my computer.  That is why I didnt have dropbox on my computer-and it is now since I downloaded the newest version.  This is beyond frustrating.  So, for now, according to this information below, would you suggest I downgrade my pages and numbers until this can get resolved??
    Thanks for contacting Dropbox Support! The latest version of iWork (upgraded with Mavericks) changes the way files are saved. Instead of individual files, changes are now stored in file packages (archive folders). This prevents the Dropbox application from correctly synchronizing those changes. Our engineers are aware of this issue and are working on a fix to synchronize the new iWork files, however we can’t give you an exact timeline on when this fix will become available.
    Currently, the only workaround available to keep these files in sync is to downgrade to the previous version of iWork. To downgrade you can go to your Applications folder and install the previous version of iWork by running the installation file in the iWork 09 folder that the upgrade should’ve left in place.
    We apologize for the inconvenience this might cause.

  • Multiple Applications failing to launch in Mac OSX Mavericks

    Hi there,
    I recently updated my Mac Pro to Mac OSX Mavericks (OS X 10.9.2), and since that time, I have experienced multiple applications in my Adobe CC Subscription failing to launch. As a first step, I attempted to uninstall the applications so that I could reinstall them and see if that fixed the problem. However, when I go to uninstall the applications, I get the same message (crash report) that I get when I attempt to launch them, so I'm unable to uninstall the applications.
    I'm not sure what the protocal is, or where I can send the crash reports to get a better idea of what is going wrong. Below I've listed a series of applications that are failing to launch, then the applications that are launching and running perfectly fine, along with some information about the computer I'm running on to see if the hardware might be out-of-date and adding to the problem.

  • Photo stream does not sync mac OSX mavericks

    I have macbook air running mavericks 10.9.2 and when I setup photostream it only synced back for about 2 months, want it to collect all prior photostream photos from my iphone/ipad.  It has stayed just the 2 months data for a few days now so convinced it will never update.  any way to force the update?  May be a bug.  Thoughts?
    Also, it seems that the photostream may have been locking up my wifi connection.  After disabling photostream it is working again but with some hangups, but not as percistant as it was before.  Thoughts?

  • Download Failed, File Could Be Corrupted

    While trying to download a song, the purchase would stop downloading and iTunes would claim the file is corrupt before giving me error code -10000.
    I went to a different computer, synced with the same iTunes Library and accounts and tried to download the song from that computer instead, and I received the same error message. Kind of lame that I can't download it after I paid $0.99, you know?
    My question is who would I talk to about this problem? I remember I downloaded an American Idol single a couple years ago and the quality was horrible, but iTunes gave me credit for the purchase so I may download it again after the problem was fixed. If the file is corrupted, I hope that I may be able to do that again.

    Hi,
    After we got the email for early access being accepted, we updated the Adobe Creative Cloud app, then closed/opened the app.   Still says "Coming Soon"  also tried restarting.
    Got the email this morning, is there a considerable delay?

    I lost all my Adobe Photoshop files + everything else on my IMAC when it crashed. They reinstalled Operating System.  But now i must install programs such as MS Word & Adobe indesign suite.
    Please help me determine what is the bestway to backup Adobe layered  PSD files? I believe these are my choices to be assured this doesn't ever hapen again. Please comment.
    Buy Apple Airport Time capsule $280.  But I am not sure if it can store PSD layers. Can it or do you have to have Apple Apperture  software to act be sure layers are saved

    My backup plan is to use Time Machine to make a backup to an external disk drive plus I also do a clone of my system disk. So far between the bootable clone and the Time Machine backup this plan has covered all of my needs.

    If you go to  > About This Mac > More Info > Storage what do you see? Does it appear that your hard drive is empty? If you have a Time Machine Backup you can restore from it, or manually migrate your files back.

  • Maverick download fails

    I am having problems downloading Maverick, I either get download fails, or it tries to install and an error message stating the file is corrupted or altered.

    I was able to download Maverick installation file from App Store, but when auto-running it (I had OS X Lion, MacBook Pro 15"), always got error message that the file was corrupted. Which it wasn't. I downloaded it multiple times in different networks. Always the same error message when trying to run it, even though I had also run repair in Disk Utility during boot (Command+R). Eventually I figured it out to copy the "Install OS X Mavericks" file from Applications folder to my external USB HD to another folder (by drag-and-dropping it), and when running it from the new location, installation went smoothly! The error message was very misleading.
    Be advised: If you have Microsoft Office, I recommend you to uninstall it or at least update it to the latest version from Microsoft web site prior to upgrading to Mavericks. I had lot's of headache cleaning it up (Outlook was crashing, Powerpoint was causing font issues that were crashing etc. etc.). I still haven't re-installed MS Office though.

  • Home/Files/Fonts all fail to load

    For the last few weeks, my Home screen in the desktop application has been stuck on the spinning loading circle.  Previously it loaded without incident and nothing noticeably changed on my part that changed the behavior.  I decided that since I didn't really use the Home section I didn't care that much.  However, when I got access to the File and Font syncing rollout, I discovered that those screens are now exhibiting the same behavior.  I'm using the most recent version of the app (1.1.1.220) on Windows 7 64-bit.  I have tried uninstalling and renaming the OOBE folders without any change.  Restarting never changes it either.  The Apps tab and the Behance tab both load what they should without any issues.  I've also tried completely disabling my firewall (no change) as well as temporarily disabling antivirus (also no change).  I've also looked over the discussions here, but the only relevant similar issues I found either had no follow up or said they were resolved with reboots.  So I'm rather out of ideas -- is there anything else I can try to get this resolved?
    One other slightly odd bit of behavior -- after reinstalling the desktop app, if I try to exit now, it gives me a dialog box that says "Are you sure you want to quit? Quitting will cancel any application installations."  However, there aren't any pending application installations and everything is up to date; would it use that one if it's trying to sync files or fonts but not completing it?

    I'm sure someone someday will search and come across this, and I'd hate to leave you without a resolution. 
    I'm posting this in a few threads to try to catch everyone currently having the problem.
    The good news is that I found a way to fix this.
    The bad news is that it involves uninstalling everything.
    I spent many hours with tech support yesterday running through options unsuccessfully, and can very thoroughly assure you that uninstalling the desktop app, renaming any number of folders, and new user accounts all will not help you.  From doing a lot of research on various similar problems, it appears that it's possible for this to spontaneously resolve within a couple of hours.  A few others have said that turning off the OS notification options on everything in the preferences menu then turning them back on might fix it.  If it doesn't, though, you're stuck with fixing it yourself.
    The best theory I found was that it's caused by updating or installing a program without doing it through CC.  If you've downloaded an installer and run that or clicked "Check for updates" in the help menu inside one of the other apps, this is you.  Other people have noted that if you know which app you did this with, you can uninstall that one to fix it.  If you have no idea, the simplest path is to just uninstall everything.  You can try doing things one at a time, but you'll need to reboot every time the uninstaller tell you to do so and then see if it's fixed.  (Personally, I got sick of that by the second time through.)  I do remember clicking "Check for updates" right around the time this started for me, but I don't know which program it was in, just that I knew it would trigger the updates I knew existed but CC wasn't acknowledging.
    I will also note that once I had everything uninstalled, I ran the Cleaner Tool and did a "Clean All". If you're going to or need to do that, make sure you've backed up all of your preferences, customizations, plugins, and so forth as needed.

    You have to make the backup yourself. That's your only protection against file loss whether accidental or catastrophic. In fact you should have at least two of them - each done differently and on separate drives.
    If your files truly were "erased" then you can see if they can be recovered:
    General File Recovery
    If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.
    The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

    Basic Backup
    For some people Time Machine will be more than adequate. Time Machine is part of OS X. There are two components:
    1. A Time Machine preferences panel as part of System Preferences;
    2. A Time Machine application located in the Applications folder. It is
         used to manage backups and to restore backups. Time Machine
         requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the
         drive being backed up.
    3. Time Machine requires a backup drive that is at least double the
         capacity of the drive(s) it backs up.
    Alternatively, get an external drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner
      2. Get Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. Synk Pro
      6. Tri-Backup
    Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore.  Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files. For help with using Time Machine visit Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with all things Time Machine.
    Although you can buy a complete external drive system, you can also put one together if you are so inclined.  It's relatively easy and only requires a Phillips head screwdriver (typically.)  You can purchase hard drives separately.  This gives you an opportunity to shop for the best prices on a hard drive of your choice.  Reliable brands include Seagate, Hitachi, Western Digital, Toshiba, and Fujitsu.  You can find reviews and benchmarks on many drives at Storage Review.
    Enclosures for FireWire and USB are readily available.  You can find only FireWire enclosures, only USB enclosures, and enclosures that feature multiple ports.  I would stress getting enclosures that use the Oxford chipsets especially for Firewire drives (911, 921, 922, for example.)  You can find enclosures at places such as;

      4. Firewire Direct
      5. California Drives
      6. NewEgg
    All you need do is remove a case cover, mount the hard drive in the enclosure and connect the cables, then re-attach the case cover.  Usually the only tool required is a small or medium Phillips screwdriver.
