Downloads not in itunes
Downloading music videos or songs through one itunes account but with multiple devices (mac, iphone, ipad and apple TV). Some downloads are not ending up in the Itunes library, which is a pain as it seems to be really hit and miss. I am having to search my hard drive then open them up with Itunes to get them into my Itunes library.
Probably a simple settings change required but I cant find it - can anyone help?

The store sells downloads in protected AAC format, that is ALL they sell. They can't be directly changed to mp3. When you change import options in iTunes, that only affects the CD's you are importing into iTunes, not store downloads. If you need your purchase in mp3, you will have to burn it to an audio CD, use the audio CD to re-rip into iTunes as mp3.

Because the computer my iPhone is hooked up to does not have internet, I need to download the 3.1 update from a different computer and then run it from my own computer. Download the file, then in iTunes with the iPhone connected, press the Option key (Mac OS) or the Shift key (Windows) and click Update, then navigate to the downloaded .ipsw file. -

I have 100's of CDs that I have downloaded to my itunes library and they are in the library playable but they do not show up in the C drive under the iTunes Music folder under users. Why are they in the libary and not in the itunes music folder. Win 7 OS. When I look in the library under the get info screen it says they are in the folder itunes music, under the c: drive but when I actually go to that folder to look for them they are not there....HELP!

Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences.
Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
Click the Advanced pane. iTunes displays the location of your iTunes Media folder.

Use the Reset button to reset it's location to the default (which is the iTunes folder).
Click the Change button to select a folder for a new location. Once you change this location:
If you make a new or alternate iTunes library, the new location will be used by that library.
Existing files will not be moved unless you choose File > Library > Organize library and choose the option to "Consolidate files."

Try starting Aperture with the command and option keys held down. You'll get 3 options.
Try each, starting at the top, in order, checking after each to see if it fixes the issue. -
I have tried everything I can try, I figured downloading them from Itunes they would go straight onto my Nano, but it wont let me put any of them on there, I cannot find anything anywhere on the internet, nothing, I am so furious, I have converted them to any and every possible format, and this fking thing will not load one of them, so before I finally lose it(my temper) and destroy my brand new Nano, can someone please please help me, I am generally pretty well versed in this kind of stuff, and can figure things out, but nothing I do will let me do anything, I am stuck, and this is not acceptable, and will possibly be the last time I purchase anything other then a desktop from Apple, they are not making things easier and more convienent, they are making things harder and more monotonous, can somebody please point me to what im doing, or not doing? thank youj
In iTunes, do Store->View my AppleID
Click "Deuthorize ALL"
Then, on any computers you still have, do Store->Authorize this computer. If there are less than 5, you will have no problem.
You can only do "deauthorize all" once a year, so in the future, if you ever throw a computer away, remember do to "Store->Deauthorize this computer" first. -
I recently downloaded a book "In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day" and iBooks tells me its incorrectly formatted even though I downloaded this from iTunes and have the latest version of the iBooks app. What is going on? I want a refund if this doesn't work. My other books open fine.

Before asking for a refund, also try deleting the book and redownloading it.
If you find that the iBookstore is does not meet your needs, you can try one of the others like Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Googlebooks, or Sony.

When I go to download from my iTunes account, it has started to say that I have to verify my ID. When only last week I was able to download ok. The questions it asks me are not relevant to me and I need to know how to reset the questions. For example, it asks who is my favourite teacher? I am over 50 years old and have not been in a classroom for almost 40 years, so I would not have ever answered a question like that in the first place as I would not know a name of a teacher. Ok. so I updated to iOS 5. Downloaded it from iTunes and all. But in the middle of installing the iOS, i fell asleep. not knowing my computer was at a low battery charge my computer shut down. I did a DFU already and it worked but i'm not sure if it the os is complete. Is It??
Restore to factory settings. That will use the latest iOS and then restore from a backup.

I can no longer download music from itunes store. It happened when I was trying to download songs dragged into a playlist. I tried to download more than one at a time. It stopped. Now I cant download at all. Even rebooted my machine.
OK thanks I will try that. I just don't understand why I still can't download new videos as I've deleted the software I installed and I've changed my camera settings back to what they were before when I could download into iPhoto. I perhaps should have mentioned it's iPhoto '08 version 7.1.5. Is there any way of putting iPhoto back as the "default download and view" programme?
It could be as simple as longer (larger) videos - iPhoto does not always handle larger video files well

iPhoto is not a download and view program - it is a photo management database program that imports photos - Image Capture is a download program - Preview is a view program
The default program to download your photos is set in the preference panel of either iPhoto or image capture
