Downloads to a computer or device not previously associated with an Apple ID?

Apple sends me emails telling me that my Apple ID was used to download an app from the App Store to a computer or device that had not previously been associated with my Apple ID.  Apple advises me reset my password.
I have reset my password about 20 times and have contacted Apple support.  Apple always shifts the solution to me, but they have never prevented the download to devices that are not associated with my Apple ID and my Apple account.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestions, but....
Someone is only using my Apple ID alone without the correct credentials.
Apple should know that it is not me when they allow the download to a different computer or device that has never been associated with my Apple account.
I cannot believe they are able to crack my elaborate password and use it, because I am a retired security professional and only I and Apple have my password.
My problem has been ongoing for four months.  Apple cancels my password every time and I cannot log onto anything Apple.  I have reset my password about 20 times.
I have excellent malware and excellent internet and email security software which I run at least once a week, so I don't think that is the problem.
Apple also erases my credit card data.  So they are taking appropriate precautions to prevent bigger problems, but they don't seem to be addressing the fundamental issue, i.e., they are allowing unauthorized computers to devices to download free apps as long as the computer or device supples the Apple ID, which just happens to be your primary email address (as required by Apple).
In desperation, I reset my iPad and started over from scratch. I lost all of my data, but I thought I had solved my problem until a few days ago when I got the dreaded emails from Apple and had to reset my password and credit card info.
If you have any other suggestions please let me know, since this same problem exists for others in other discussion areas, and if you go to youtube, you can see that some hackers will tell the world how to hack into your Apple account or Apple process.
Thanks.

You cannot associate this device with a different Apple ID for 30 days. When I click OK it turns th downloads off..Can someone help me? • How can i re download movies onto my iPad if the device 'is already associated with another apple id'?

Every time I try to play a movie/tv show on my ipad that i've bought but haven't downloaded, a message comes up saying 'This device is already associated with an apple id, you can download past purchases on this device with just one apple id every 90 days. Well I changed the email for the same account, however I used '.com' instead of '.co.uk' which obviously caused alot of complications. After about an hour on the phone this is all sorted out now and I am left with one apple id, but this is still happening. If this makes no sense to anyone I don't blame you as it took me a good half hour to get my own head round it.

    Hi there
I'm getting a similar problem with my Macbook Pro. itunes match was working fine until two days ago when i created another 'user id' for the laptop and then an itunes account for that user under their profile. Now i cant turn on itunes match on my itunes under my user account. Contacted Apple today who said to use the Express Lane and email the problem and they might be able to make an 'exception' on the account. Otherwise I'll have to wait 88 days to access a lot of my music on the macbook pro. itunes match is still working on the iphone 4S and ipad2.
Can anyone help? The only thought was too re-stream the laptop. Ive already tried deauthorising the other user but it made no difference.
    Thanks
    Jules

  • Can you please reset the "This Device Is Already Associated With an Apple ID"

So, i had an ipod touch 4th generation 64gb and have bought any movies and music. I got an ipod touch 5th gen 64gb for christmas and backed up all my stuff from previous ipod (4th) to it. My plan was to Use the 5th gen for games an photos ans social networks. And the 4th gen for Movies an music. On the 4th gen I created a new apple ID. When I went to the store I logged into my son's apple ID, to get one movie i had purchased for him, so i could have it on my device, so i wouldn't have to buy it again. After i downloaded that, i logged in back to my original ID, not the one i used to make a new one (4th), so i could get the movies i have bought previously. When i tried to do this, this came up- "This Device Is Already Associated With an Apple ID". So now i can't download the movies i had purchased previously. Can someone tell me how to reset this. Because I really dont want to wait 90 days to download these movies.

Sorry but there is no way to override the 90 day timer once it starts.

  • This Devices is already associated with an apple ID?!

Okay so heres the issue, my gf wanted to play with my iphone so I said yes apparently this was a mistake -___-. i didnt find out till today when i suscribed to itunes match.... apparently she logged into her account and downloaded some books from her account so she could read them.. so now im getting this error.. "This device is already associated with an Apple ID". So how do i fix this and who do i contact and all that. Anyhelp would be Awesome! thanyou

Here's what I want to do: I have a US and a Canada iTunes account, and separate IDs for each. Songs and movies from each account coexist happily on my main Mac. I want to download a past purchase movie from the US account but am getting this warning. I don't want the Canadian account to get blocked for 90 days so I am clicking cancel.
Now, what if I download the US movie to my son's Mac (where I have a  little used login) and then copy it across to my main Mac? I'm getting the warning on that computer as well, but my assumption is that it's warning me about my son's AppleID, and he's at college for the next 90 days. Ie, he won't care. Is my understanding correct that it's the computer that gets locked for 90 days, not the Apple ID? That seems to be what the message says. I don't want to find out that my Canada store account is locked out of past purchases, etc if I go this route.

  • I had 2 Apple IDs but now Apple implemented new conditions and i can't use one of them after 90 days using the prior one..! - "This Device Is Already Associated With an Apple ID"

I have two Apple IDs because i travel frequently between Mexico and the US, and the apple stores offer different products, so i like to download music, movies and TV series from both sites.
Apparently apple changed the conditions, becauise until a few days ago i could log our from one account and log in from my other one. Yesterday i was at Miami International Airport and wanted to download a few chapters from one of my TV series (Walking Dead) to watch on my way to Mexico City, but a pop up window came up saying "this device is already associated with an apple id". Curoiously, the ID to which i was connected to was precisely the one under which i had bought weeks ago the chapters i was wanting to download from the cloud. So it says i have to wait 90 days to change apple id.... weard! probably i accepted these terms when dowloading a new IOS version, so legally I'm dead in complaining, but why is it that if i am paying for all that i buy as a model citizen i am now blocked from jumping from one apple id to another one???? I can certainly buy another ipad and have one with one id and another one with the other, but is there any other way i can keep the two in just one device?? If i don't use i-could would anything change? This is really making me mad, and is the first time i have thought of moving our of mac products into samsung or others and buy my music and movies somewhere else where stupid restrictions like this one do not exist. Please help with a solution!

OK, but in my ipad, the apple id i have in itues is already the one  iwant to have, but th one i used to sin in for i-coud is the other one. Any tip as to how to change the apple id for icloud and any idea how to know what apps i bought with the other apple id so as to delete them from my ipad to avoid being asked to enter another apple id every time they get updated? thanks!

  • Family Sharing and Device is already associated with an Apple ID

I apparently have no idea how Family Sharing works.
I have had an Apple ID for as long as they have existed. As my daughters grew up and got iPods and iPhones, they always use this ID for iTunes. Now with Family Share we thought they could each have their own Apple IDs and keep the music we already purchased, purchase music in the future and I would pay for it.
So the very first time my daughter tries to purchase a song she does so with a gift card. She redeemed the card under her account and purchased $15 worth of music. However, it won't let her download the music she purchased. An alert pops up and says:
"This Device is Already Associated with an Apple ID: If you download past purchases with your Apple ID, you cannot auto-download or download past-purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days.  CANCEL or TRANSFER"
All she is trying to do is download the songs she purchased with her gift card and she is getting this notice. The songs did not download when she purchased them, I don't know why.

Not 100% on this but it sounds similar to what i had.  My wife and i shared an apple id for the same reason.  When we went to family sharing we had to create a new id for her.
Your future is with family sharing for sure, it is great once established and perfect for you...so i would go ahead and click the transfer.  all your old purchases (which i assume is under your id) will be available under your heading and can be re-downloaded.
the 90 day warning applies to the old apple id (i.e. yours) with that device only. it will now be associated with your daughters.
you may also want to go to https://supportprofile.apple.com/ and change any registered products associated with your id

  • This Device Is Already Associated With an Apple ID

I was having trouble logging into FaceTime and connecting to wifi. So I wiped my iPad mini and reset to factory settings.
I was able to get my iPad mini working after wiping it and rebuilding it manually as a new device.
Now, I have a new problem - my apple id.
    I can't use iTunes match.
I can't download books from iBooks.
The error I'm getting is as follows:
"This Device Is Already Associated With an Apple ID."
"You can download past purchases on this device with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This device can be used with another Apple ID in 34 days."
    What is this?
I paid for this content and the iTunes Match service and now I can't use it?  ***?
Does anyone know how to fix this?

This looks like a known issue from years ago. It's a design flaw in IOS.
When you setup a new device, it asks for your iclould login. This login is used and entered into the iTunes store by default. Then, if you change the iTunes logging to the correct one, it locks you out.
This issue was caused by the following:
    1. iTunes came out years ago. It requires an email.
    2. MobileMe came out later and prevented everyone from usign the same email they used in iTunes. The default email was [email protected] of course. This design flaw, by definition, created two apple id's for everyone. Perhaps this is why Steve Jobs fired the mobileme product manager?
    3. MobileMe becomes iCloud.
    4. Since everyone has two appleid's, and apparently there is no way to merge them, everyone who sets up a new IOS device and enters their iCloud id will be setting their iTunes id up incorrectly by default. Users that then realize this and change iTunes to the correct apple id will be locked out for 90 days.
It seems to me this design flaw will affect every new iOS user who sets up a new device, has an iCloud account and a iTunes account.
    What a cluster f.
More on this design flaw below.

This is really a problem. I've paid for extra iCloud storage. I've paid for iTunes Match. I've purchased thousands of dollars worth of music, books, and movies. For the next 90 days, I can't download any of this stuff to my iPad mini.
