Downloads Wont Initiate NEED HELP

Hey, I'm new to the discussions but this is the last place I can turn to. Recently Safari has just decided not to start downloads (which is really not fun cus I'm a bit of a gamer and need my updates). I've been searching for an answer but all anyone tells me to do is "check the help section", but the help section gives solutions assuming the download has started. Thats the whole problem though, it's not that the download is slow or begins and cant finish it just wont start period. It's not a matter of settings, I haven't changed anything since it started happening, so I don't know where to go with this. If anyone has had the same problem or can help me, please do so, anything helps. Thanks!

Welcome to the users to users Apple forum.
Did you trash the download.plist
Open Finder and follow this pad ... HD>Users>Home_Folder>Library>Safari folder>Download.plist
Before you trash the Download.plist make sure Safari is NOT running. Quit Safari.
After you found the Download.plist by following the pad above select it once and trash it.
Now empty the trash can.
Now open Safari again and try to download anything.

The iPad is telling you it has entered the recovery mode - you need to follow the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 for connecting to a computer running iTunes by way of the recovery mode.

I spent the better part of this morning finding Adobe/Photoshop elements 11 tutorials. I wanted to try changing faces on group pictures. I downloaded what I thought would work. Now I need help finding out if this "elements 11" is included with what I downloaded so that I may try to use this feature. Please talk to me about this.

My pages document wont open NEED HELP ASAP

when I go to open a pages document on my mac book pro, the document I'm trying to open is pale and i can't open it. I NEED HELP ASAP.

How did you install Pages & what version? What model of Mac are you using & what version of OS X?

Itunes wont open- need help!

Whenever i try to open my itunes it says "itunes has encountered an error and needs to close." Ive tried repairing itunes, reinstalling itunes, uninstalling quicktime and installing the standalone version, and then installn ewido anti-mallware and trying to remove some of those inected files. Nothing has worked and ive read through some of the post at i cant find anything else. Please leave me some suggestions! thanks

The first thing I'd suggest is to get a good antispyware checker and give it a go at your system. Some recent spyware has been reported by other users to shut down iTunes or prevents it from launching. From user reports, Ewido seems to be the best at catching it. You can download a free version of Ewido here.
If that doesn't cure the problem, try deleting the iTunes preference files:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
and
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Data\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
You might have to turn on "show hidden files" to find them. (Right click "my computer", select open, select Tools menu -> Folder Options. Select View tab, "show hidden files" radio button is in the center scrolling panel.) Delete them. This will force iTunes to run the setup assistance the next time you run it and you'll have to go back and set any preferences you've changed from the default.

My itunes wont open after upgraded to 8 , ive uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and quicktime and still wont work. i found a topic to possibly help me but i dont know how to tranfer my music to an external disk drive without being able to open itunes. i am getting so frustrated. please help

A usb hard drive that Windows sees doesn't need software for a simple back up.
Format the hard drive Disk Management, if it doesn't come already formatted, and then drag and drop the iTunes folder and whatever other data you want to back up to it.
What you're describing doesn't sound like something iTunes did. If you're having general install troubles you have another problem with your system and it's time for a little troubleshooting to find out what's really going on.

Book i downloaded wont open, please help !

I downloaded a book on iTunes. Its in the .epub format and i really cant open it. I downloaded Calibre but it says my book is protected and wont open. I put the book on a Kobo but it doesnt work either.

ITunes 6 wont open Need Help!!

I recently installed the newest version of iTunes (6.0.4.2). Every time i try to launch it i get an error message that reads "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" in the error report it says

I have no idea what any of this means or what is causing my iTunes to not open but its really starting to frustrate me, i have tried reinstalling it several times and i still get the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close
the first thing that i check for when people report getting that message when they try to launch their itunes is a broken QuickTime.
try to open your QuickTime. does it launch properly, or do you get an error message?
if you get an error message, the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.0.4 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.0.4 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

Downloaded new software; need help getting started...

I get many pages with all the new info but I just want to make a call. No symbol or sign about where to make a call
Hardware: Laptop windows 7, Lenovo; I also have a fullsized HP tabletop and an iPad.
Oper.sys: Windows 7 on laptop, Windows XP on table top (use it little)
Skype version: latest I think downloaded today.
Internet: Xplonet satelite.
I am not very good at computers but I know that when I opened Skype I had a sign to press to make a call. Now nothing only Explore Prices Downloads and Help. But no help only answers that mean nothing to me. How can I learn this completely new system?

Are you sure that you are logged in to Skype application installed on your computer and not just to your Account page on the Web. The last will not provide you any access to your contacts or call option.
What exactly is the version of Skype installed on your computer? In Skype go to Help -> About Skype.
If you have not yet installed Skype on your computer, then you need to do this now.

SCCM Clients stuck downloaded Windows Updates(Need Help)

I am using SCCM 2007 software update for my site. I created a deployment for windows XP patches and it applied successfully on the collection. But now i am seeing in Enforcement states for a deployment, Clients are stuck "downloaded Update(s)" stage,
I have check client logs also but does not find any error.
Can any one help me out over this

Kindly stop trying to bump your post by entering information that doesn't help anyone. On the client side what does it look like. Does the patch say failed when it installs? Do the client even see anything. You can stop the Windows
Update service. Delete the software distribution folder and restart it and it should recreate the folder and attempt to download the patches again and install. Remember the community is here to help when possible. By your posts I assume this
is an emergency so you might want to contact CSS, searching the internet or find a private consultant that could help you faster than we could. Sometimes there just isn't enough information for us to fix a problem. I have seen this problem
every month and every month a machine has a different problem as to why the error occurs. It could be
Previous required patch is broken
Windows update is messed up
WMI issue
Patch downloaded is corrupt. Delete the cache folder and see if the client will retry
Machine simply needs a reboot and it will complete whatever it is doing, retry and install
Client needs to be repair
Take a step back from the problem and write down some problems/solutions so you can track what you are doing and so you can find a direction.

How do add a toolbar to the yahoo firefox? I have a program already downloaded. I need help adding the toolbar.

I use Roboform and after I downloaded Yahoo Firefox it no longer appeared as one of my toolbars. How do I get it back? I need it for those sites I visit once and a while and filling out forms. I'm using MS 8.1. Thanks.

If Firefox was able to load and activate the Roboform extension, then you should be able to turn on the toolbar using one of these methods:
* right-click a blank area of the tab bar, then click on Roboform
* right-click the "+" button on the tab bar, then click on Roboform
* "3-bar" menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars > Roboform
* (classic menu bar) View menu > Toolbars > Roboform
If Roboform does not appear on the available toolbar list, could you check to confirm that it is enabled on the Add-ons page? Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. In the list on the right, the disabled extensions are at the bottom of the list.

Q10 wont boot need help urgent

one day after taking out my q10 from charge while using i, it switched of instanly and wont start so i pluged the charger in it showed the bat is charging but later on it showed the error to change the bat so i did but still it wont start infact when i plug it in to charge the red led comes then on the screen blackberry comes and then back to charging i placed the baterry in my other q10 the battery was more than half

Cannot send pictures in e-mail after downloading firefox 4 need help

when writing an e-mail I cannot put an attachment when trying to sent. The attachment button in the e-mail is gone and attachments cannot be inserted in to be sent.have tried several times and pictures are not allowed to come up for me to pick what I want to send.

I had the same problem. I'm running 10.5 but on a Motorola chip. The Firefox download page is not clear on OS and machine requirements. To fix the problem, trash the newly installed Firefox 4. Download Firefox 3.6.16 and reinstall. All of your preferences and bookmarks will still be there as they are contained in a different place. Hope this helps.

Zen Microphoto Firmware got deleted, Computer wont recognize, NEED HELP!

One day my zen wouldnt boot up, so i went through the maintenence menu and rebooted, cleaned up, and even formatted the hard dri've, but it still wouldnt boot up. I then stupidly went to the reload firmware button. From then on, I have not been able to get the automatic update or the downloaded firmware update to recognize the zen. My computer will recognize it but the update wont. I have scoured the web to try and find an answer to why it wont recognize the player or how to fix it, but to no avail.

Well got good news!! I got it!!! IT TOTALLY has to do with WMP . But here's the catch. My PC only had WMP 0?but it had upgrades and hotfixes to it. I think somewhere between the original WMP0 and WMP there was a bug. So I plugged it into my husband's computer that had the basic WMP0 and it took like 20 mins. I'm currently installing all my music back on!!?Good luck to everyone!!
