DP_FATAL_ERROR = Release inconsistent with running system

Hi all,
I have installed an application server for 4.7 ext.set 2 on windows while my central and database instance run on an AIX server.
After installing the application server it comes up ok and I log on.
Then when I install kernel patches for this application server (dialog instance)
It does not startup and I get the following error on dev_disp file.
CCMS: start to initalize 3.X shared alert area (first segment).
ERROR => platform patchno is 31 [dpxxdisp.c   14899]
ERROR => but my patchno   is 155 [dpxxdisp.c   14900]
DP_FATAL_ERROR => Release inconsistent with running system
DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***
If I place back the old kernel it comes up.
Please assist.
I extraced kernel patched on central instance host and I also followed notes for
setting up central transport directory in heterogeneous environment.
Any idea?

Hi,
Central instance is on latest kernel patch level (AIX_ORACLE-9_UNICODE)
and win appl server is on the same patch level (windows).
Any other idea????
It seems somehow that  some trash from the other kernel is left (but where??).

  • Why I can not release the memory except I run System.exit()

I have an application which runs over night. (more than 8 hours)
after a certain period I stopped the applicatin(but it doesn't exit from JVM) reset all the object and run System.gc().
I am sure ther is not references point to the object.
it seams JVM hold the memory and memory is not released.
    Questions:
    1. whether JVM will "hold" memory?
    2. Is there a method to focerly release memory?
    Thanks a lot!
    Qi

    Questions:
    1. whether JVM will "hold" memory?I've notice with version 1.4.0 that it starts to release memory when about 90% of the total memory allocated is free of use.
    2. Is there a method to focerly release memory?
    No.. But you can provide it with a hint by using the System.gc();

  • How enabled Single Sign-On with a System SAP WAS ABAP (Run application BSP)

    Hi.
I need to run any application BSP from a System SAP WAS ABAP, without entering SAP user and password. Using the windows authentication and without SAP Enterprise Portal.
What authentication methods I have to apply for enabled Single Sign-On with a System SAP WAS ABAP?.
And How can I enabled this method?.
    Best regards.
    Luis Gomez.

    Hi Ticiano,
SAP WebAS ABAP supports a number of authenticaiton mechanisms. See
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/02/d4d53aa8a9324de10000000a114084/frameset.htm]
A number of these authentication mechanisms can be combined with Windows authentication (e.g. SNC, client certificates, ...).
The decision what mechanism fits best depends on critieria like
    - SAP server platform
    - security requirements
    - extensibility (should same authentication mechanism be used for future SAP environments, which will be E-SOA based)
    - authentication from outside company domain
    - Use of SAP security library (SAPcryptolib)
You may want to look at the SAP Software Solution Partner Catalog, if you look for certified SSO solution vendors for SAP.

We were told by TAC this is a cosmetic issue only and not to worry.  However, the engineer inside me wants to know what the router is upset about and how to suppress the log message.  I'd also like to ask Cisco to create a cosmetic bug fix for 5.1.3 to resolve the log message if it is indeed truly cosmetic only in nature.
    Thanks!
    -ben

hi Ben, the ddts is fixed in 52x forward. There is no smu planned for prior releases.
you can schedule a periodic selective clear of the log buffer via:
RP/0/RSP0/CPU0:A9K-BNG#clear log events delete [option] [field]
the logging correlator, here is a little write up on that (copy/paste from my kb)
    XR nag Killer
The short version  (i.e. here's the code to make it happen!)
    !! enter config mode...
    conf t
!! this removes the correlator so you can edit it...
no logging correlator apply rule kill-annoyances all-of-router
    !!! define the rule
logging correlator rule kill-annoyances type nonstateful
      timeout 600000
!!! this is the "root cause" one... make sure you pick something that happens frequently
    rootcause PLATFORM ENVMON FAN_FAIL
!!! these are all the NON root cause events. this is what gets squashed along with the root cause.
!!! add things here that you want squashed.
      nonrootcause
      alarm PLATFORM ENVMON FAN_CLEAR
      alarm PLATFORM ENVMON FANTRAY_FAIL
      alarm PLATFORM ENVMON ENV_CONDITION
      alarm PLATFORM ENVMON FANTRAY_CLEAR
!!! timeouts are currently maxed at ten minutes... (smu anyone?)
      timeout-rootcause 600000
    !!! this re-applies the correlator
logging correlator apply rule kill-annoyances all-of-router
    !!! now commit the thing
    commit
    !!! done...
On a somewhat related note, if anyone is not already familiar with the
"logging correlator" function -- it can be used to greatly reduce the
amount of "noise" generated by all these various little things that are
broken (like single fan tray systems!)
An example config that I have on my box is as follows:
logging correlator rule fan type nonstateful
      timeout 600000
      rootcause PLATFORM ENVMON FAN_FAIL
      nonrootcause
      alarm PLATFORM ENVMON FAN_CLEAR
      alarm PLATFORM ENVMON FANTRAY_FAIL
      alarm PLATFORM ENVMON ENV_CONDITION
      alarm PLATFORM ENVMON FANTRAY_CLEAR
      timeout-rootcause 600000
    logging correlator apply rule fan
      all-of-router
    >>
    Which essentially says the following:
    >>
    1) a message of format "PLATFORM-ENVMON-FAN_FAIL" is a 'root cause' event.
the timeout for root cause events is set to 600000ms (ten minutes), so
no matter how many of these events I see, I will only actually throw a
    syslog every ten minutes.
    2) underneath this 'root cause' event are a number of 'nonrootcause'
events.  If I see any of these events within the timeout specified (again,
ten minutes) of a 'root cause' I will also suppress these messages -- the
theory here is that I already know the root cause and don't want to clutter
myself up with all the side effects.    In reality we're just hacking the
correlator to get rid of messages, but hey -- it works.  ;-)
    >>
    3) this particular "correlator rule" is applied to the whole router (you
*can* do all sorts of funky stuff with where you apply it if you want).
    4) in real environments the idea is to have lots of different correlators
for different events... but what I do is basically maintain a great big
list of known syslog messages that I don't want to have splattering my
screen, and the correlator gobbles them all up for me.
    >>
    Limitations:
    >>
    5) UPDATE: you can now set timeouts up to 7200000 seconds (LONG time...)
    >>
    6) the only really annoying part is that you have to unapply the rule
before you can edit it... so the process is "unapply rule, commit, change
rule, apply rule, commit" instead of just "change rule".  But hey, it's
    better than nothing.
    >>
    7) if you want to see the messages that got suppressed/correlated, use the
"show logging correlator buffer all-in-buffer" command -- and sit back and
be amazed at how much console bandwidth you've saved.  ;-)
    >>
    Hope people find this helpful...

  • Can a Macbook Pro 5.5 with operating system MAC OS 10.5.8 be updated?

Can a Mac book Pro 5.5 with operating system MAC OS 10.5.8 be updated?  I tried to back up an Iphone 5s and was informed that it needed a newer ITUNES software but then tried to update I TUNES software and could not because it is not compatible with MAC OS 10.5.8

A 13" 2009 machine? Sure, you can even run Mavericks (and install up to 8GB of RAM), but you'll have to upgrade to Snow Leopard (latest release was 10.6.8 - you can purchase the disc from the Apple online store -> http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard - $20 and FREE SHIPPING!!!).
After updating to Snow Leopard, then you can upgrade to Mavericks free. I don't know how much RAM you presently have, but your machine will accept up to 8GB of 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMMs RAM. I would recommend upgrading your RAM, if you haven't already, before installing Mavericks, though.

    Hi Chuck,
TenFourFox is the most up to date browser for our PPCs, they even have G4 & G5 optimized versions...
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
I'd avoid vesrion 24 though, as it no longer supports plug-ins like Flash.
SeaMonkey seems pretty fast also, with many options...
    http://www.seamonkey-project.org/
    http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/
Might also look into iCab & OmniWeb versions.
    Also...
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a leter version installed.

(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • Firefox 4 is apparently not compatibile with MacOS 10.5.8 PPC since after downloading and trying to open a pop-up says it is not compatible with my system. This version is probably for MacOS 10.5 Intel users. Unless there's another reason?

When Firefox 4 was proposed, I immediately checked the system requirements for Mac user:
    "MacOS 5
    MacOS 6"
So I downloaded it, since my OS is 10.5.8 (PPC), I thought I was fine. When downloaded, the Firefox icon showed a Stop sign in the middle: maybe a new logo? But when trying to open it, a window popped up saying this version was not compatible with my system. Therefore, using Time Machine, I reverted back to Firefox 3.6.16.
If this is the case, you should absolutely warn '''PPC''' users not to download Firefox 4. Your version is probably for '''Intel''' versions.
Unless you come up with a fix, I won't be able to use Firefox 4 until I change computers, having updated my system to the last possible upgrade.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • How do I get a cd out of my imac with no system?

I have an iMac Mid 2007 with no system on it. I put in a Snow Leopard OS disk and booted from that in order to instal the system. The install failed three times with the message that certain support files couldn't be copied. I had verified and repaired the disk a couple of times while trying to do this install.
So I thought that I'd buy a Lion disk and install Lion that way. However, the Snow Leopard disk is still in the machine. Is there any way I can get that disk out of the machine without having to take the machine to be repaired? When I boot from the disk, I didn't notice anything in the menus for ejecting and there's no disk icon at that stage to drag to the trash -- there's no trash.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Oh, that's where I got the $69 from. I didn't realise it was a usb stick. Well that would solve the problem.
I can't remember where I got the Leopard disk, it's been a while. And I know this really sounds stupid, but I can't tell whether the disk is gray or white :-)
Since I last wrote, I came across this:
About Lion Recovery Disk Assistant v1.0
Built right into OS X Lion, Lion Recovery lets you repair disks or reinstall OS X Lion without the need for a physical disc.
"The Lion Recovery Disk Assistant lets you create Lion Recovery on an external drive that has all of the same capabilities as the built-in Lion Recovery: reinstall Lion, repair the disk using Disk Utility, restore from a Time Machine backup, or browse the web with Safari.
Note: In order to create an external Lion Recovery using the Lion Recovery Assistant, the Mac must have an existing Recovery HD.
To create an external Lion Recovery, download the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant application. Insert an external drive, launch the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant,  select the drive where you would like to install, and follow the on screen instructions.
When the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant completes, the new partition will not be visible in the Finder or Disk Utility. To access Lion Recovery, reboot the computer while holding the Option key. Select Recovery HD from the Startup Manager. "
Since I have another iMac running Lion which has the recovery HD on it, do you think that I could create Lion Recovery on an external drive on that machine and then then boot to that external drive from the systemless machine and install from the external to the systemless machine?
    Thanks.

  • My system freezes during start-up "for first time" after running System Recovery.

    HP G62-227CL
    Win 7 (64 bit)
No error message, per se; just a frozen screen during reboot.
Months ago, my computer suddenly started glitching on me.  I shut down and tried a reboot.  The system froze on the boot screen with the flying colors.  Tried system recovery several times  but must have done something wrong because it would not run.  Resolved to buy a new hard drive and reinstall from recovery discs.  Delayed for no good reason until today, months later.
Before buying new hard drive, decided to run System Recovery again.  It worked!  I tried the option that deleted everything and restored to original factory settings and software.  Everything appeared to work like a charm: hard drive reformatted, software reinstalled, system prompted me for a reboot.  I did.  Windows started to start, "Setup preparting your computer for the first use" appears . . . and freezes.  For hours.  Hard drive indicator light is off.
BTW, made sure that the Wi-Fi button was on as I read about Recovery issues if it was off when the program ran.
Rebooted.  Hit F11.  Ran maintenance and checked hard drive for errors.  There are errors.  Unfortunately, the default setting of CHKDSK does not repair them.   Opted for a command prompt.  Rand CHKDSK again with "/f /r" option seen in other posts.  I'm too ignorant here to get the program to run properly, I guess.  I ran CHKDSK on both drive X and C.  No errors found . . . sort of.  I know they exist because the system will not boot up.  (Yes, I tried again.)  Back at command prompt, I tried to run CHKDSK on drive C again.  This time I received a message that I would first have to unmount (dismount?) the drive.  As I do not know what this means, I opted for "no" and have decided to post this message for assistance.
So.  Suggestions on what I do next?  More specifically: how do I get CHKDSK to repair the errors it found?  I believe the message was: "Errors in $130 of sector . . ."  It displays this message twice at 62% completion.  Freezes for a long time.  Gets going again only to slow to a crawl again around 70% but for not as long.  Then returns back to the start screen of System Recovery.
Ran System Recovery again for kicks.  Again, appeared to work like a charm.  Unfortunately, the laptop is once again sitting frozen on the "Preparing . . . for first use" screen again.  It is getting hotter the longer it sits.  The fan is now audibly running at higher rpms . . . if any of that helps.  I'm shutting it down and waiting for your advice.
    Thanks!

Hello Miles1966.  I understand you're experiencing some issues with your notebook freezing.
This does sound like a hard drive problem.  The freezes, missing HDD indicator light, and inability to perform a recovery are all symptoms of a failing hard drive.  You had been using CHKDISK previously but have you tried running the diagnostic which is built into the BIOS?  Try following these steps and post the result of the diagnostic.  I suggest running the memory test as well just in case.
Let me know the result of these diagnostics.  I hope you have a great day!
