DP in APO with Retail system (wholesale distribution business)

Dear All,
We are using a retail system for our wholesale distribution busines.
We want to know if we can use Demand planning functionality from APO with Retail. We understand that for Retail F&R is the right solution. However we do not want to use F&R in a wholesale distribution scenario.
Kindly let us know if anybody has tried using DP in a retail ERP environment because it has article masters and not material masters.

Rounding Profile Issue in Article Master - IS Retail System

Hi,
We have an Issue with the Rounding Profile in Article Master of IS Retail System.
Rounding Profile (50) Maintained at Purchasing View of Article Master (MM41 & MM42) and the same is getting copied to Logistic DC View and Logistic Stores of Article Master
Scenario: -
DC Rounding Profile is being incorrectly applied to Store to Distibution Ceter STO
Return STO between Stores (xx01 u2013 xx10) and Distribution Center (Site u2013 XXAA and XXBB)
Store is returning the Stock to the Distribution Center. While creation of Return STO, System is taking the Rounding Profile QTY maintained at Purchasing View of Article Master Record.
Configuration Done:
The Rounding Profile Field hide at the Logistic: DC View and Logistic: Store View of Article Master (OMSR  MARC-RDPRF).Hence the Rounding Profile Field at Both Logicstics View got disappeared in Article Master Screens. But still the entries are visible at MARC Table.
Issue:-
The system is picking the Wrong Qty (50) instead of 1 Qty while creation of Return STO between Stores and Distribution Center.The System is prompting the Qty 50 (Which is maintained in Purchasing View of Article Master but No Rounding Profile is maintained at Logistic: DC View and Logistic: Stores View of the same Article).
REQUIREMENT:
While creation of Return STO between the Stores and Distribution Center the Rounding Profile should be inactive.
The system should pick up the Right Qty entered instead of Rounding Profile Qty.
Your valuable suggestions or advises are highly appreciated...

Free goods in Retail system

Hello Guys,
I have done all required steps to maintain Free Goods (in Retail system). Maintained following condition tables:
1. Company/Material
2. Sales org/Material
3. Sales org./Distr. Channel/Material
4. Sales org./Distr. Channel/Plant/Material
5. Sales org./Plant/Material
Maintained a pricing procedure and and assigned all item catogories... maintained Codition records.....
And result is that first 3 tables are working, but last 2 not....
Help required plz..:)

Check the Access sequence - Access number used for the respective table No
As a good practice always:
1.Please use the Access sequence - Access number starting with 10 & increment with 10
2.When you are saving the Access Sequence, after assigning relevant Table No, Pls go to the Fields level, Check the respective fiels are copied fully, and then Save.

SAP APO with SAP R/3 integration

Standard APO and R/3 CIF integration does not need additional ABAP coding.
However if you are going to enhance any master or transaction data while transfer via CIF using BADI or User-exits then good amount of ABAP expertise is required.
Per my understanding USer-exits are classical ABAP while BADI are Object-oriented.
While I cannot comment if there will be "immense" amount of coding to be done but CIF user exits remain a critical component of any implementation. Its not the "amount" but "complexity" - need to understand the source system and target system behaiour and then accordingly modify, that matters.
Thumbrule - if its master data modification then its simple. If its transaction data modification then its can become quite complex.

Workstation specs -- Any problems with this system quote?

Here are the specs I have been quoted. I'm not terribly knowledgeable about hardware, does anyone see any problems with this system? I have recently started shooting and editing weddings, engagements and corporate videos. I think it may be bit more than I need, but I would much prefer that to less than I need. I would have selected the Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD over the Intel 520, and Areca's ARC-1882i over the Intel SAS controller you list, but those are preferences not essential changes.

How to activate Retail system

Hello guys,
I need some urgent solution about how to activate EA-Retail extension set!!
I went to SPRO to activate. there it shows it is active... but in SPRO still plants are as Plant( which should change to Site)
also I can't run any Retail system tcode (Like MM41, MM42 etc.)
Please advise with the steps?

Is there any separate Tcode to create Merchandise Category Reference articles in IS-RETAIL system.
Whether Merchandise Category reference article is created as normal article in MM41 only?
Whether we can assign any of the article that is created in that merchandise category as reference article in WG21 (or) is there any separate Tcode to create Reference articles.

With Tcode WG21 u can create MC ref. article. It is a way to create MC ref article. No need to use MM41.

Activation of Batch Specific Unit of Measure in IS-Retail System

In our scenario for Articles, Client work with kg, but also want to keep track of the number of pieces.
I am trying to MAP this Process using Batch Specific Unit of Measure functionality in IS-Retail.
Is it Possible to Use the Batch Specific Unit of Measure functionality in IS-Retail System.
In Article Master, I couldnt find any "Classification View" or "Proportion/Product unit" Tab.
Also is it possible to capture the Batch Characteristics through Interface ???

using Adapter is compmetely depend on Source or Taget system, betetr to talk with RMS system people like how they will take data from other systems,besed on that you can decided.

My client has a requirement to implement IS-Retail & IS-wholesales in one box to manage huge operations related to wholesales and retail across the globe. The retail business accounts for 20% which will be expanded in future; rest 80% is wholesales.

How to convert Articles in Legacy system to SAP system (Whether we need to change number range (Internal or External) of Article Type during Upload time???)
We need to extend each variant of generic article for purchasing, sales, logistics DC and Store View since each variant article is brought at different price in Different DCu2019s. (Once we create Generic article, then only we will come to know the variant codes u2013 How to handle this scenario during GO-Live)

Uploading articles should be done in all cases always with IDOC type ARTMAS
Converting can be done with migration workbench LSMW
Number ranges can be internally or externaly. It doesnt matter in migration.
If you plan to use internal numbers for article numbers, then define a numberrange
set the counter higher than your current number of articles.
Migrate the articles in the created number gap range.
Please do not mix up master data and prices.
With ARTMAS you can migrate the views and pure master data. I recommend to use the WRKKEY fields at the end of the IDOC to speed up processing.
Always don't forget to define REFRENCE DC and REFERENCE STORE setting in customizing. Article master will work only if these settings are correct.
To simplify process, create manually some reference articles. That helps a lot.
For all other things or hints, we need more details.
It can be very easy up to very sophisticated. The artcicle master is a nice piece of software, very flexible, but also very bad, if you use it by a wrong way.....

ReSizing to existing retail system if activate batch management

Hi Experts
We have a SAP ERP retail system, the retail industry solution was implemented a few years ago.
We are implementing improvements on the existing Retail System (post golive activities), we add modifications in master data activating the batch management to materials.
We will be have additional users too.
We are adding load on the system with the additional users and we are increasing the disk requeriments for additional information (to the batch management) in the existing table records and
to the future records.
We have the latest version of the retail sizing questionnaire "Retail_Sizing_20080715.xls" obtained from http://service.sap.com/sizing but
I need to know if we have to fill it to obtain the new hardware estimation (taking into account it is not a new configuration, is a post golive activity).
Our scenario need a re-sizing because we are extending an existing system by load (additional users) and we need the calculation for disk requeriments to the additional
information and the calculation for CPU and memory requeriments to minimize the impact of these changes on the system performance.
Is the retail sizing questionnaire right to our scenario?
How I can to calculate the new load on the system?
Is right calculate the future load in our retail system monitoring the current resource utilization to CPU, table growth (and including new fields), and memory usage?

you can use transaction BD10 to extract articles. Note that you should change to message type "ARTMAS" instead of "MATMAS".

I am trying to charge an material hierarchy on BW. The R3 we are extracting the data from is a Retail one. I know that retail material hierarchy is different in retail in comparation with other systems.
