DP5 & mac mini w/ Alesis interface io|14 problem

Anyone using DP5 w/ mac mini and the Alesis io|14 audio interface?
Everything is setup correctly as far as I can see. The HDM(Alesis Hardware Direct monitoring) is working and I see movement. The problem is that DP tracks show no sign of life when I try to record.

1. I downloaded and installed the driver -- alesisio14_26macupdate012908
-- with the unit unplugged.
2. Launched DP and Configure Audio System. (A) Set it to Alesis Firewire/
Master Device. (B) Set Clock Modes/Alesis Firewire, [C] set the sampling
rate and sampling format to match the 24 bit/48 MHz setting of my main
system.
3. Launched DP and then the "bundles" menu. In bundles, I set up channels 7
thru 14 as stereo input pairs. (In Alesis HMD I learned that ADAT inputs are
permanently set to those channels like my M-Audio unit. The first six
channels are analog inputs.) Next, I set up channels 1&2 as outputs
(analog).
4. I set up a DP stereo audio track using channels 7&8 as inputs and 1&2 as
outputs. (Again, the I/O 14 has default channels 7&8 as ADAT and 1&2 as
analog outputs.)

    Hey iWeb plubishing problems,
I would first check to make sure that you meet the system requirements for OS X to support Documents in the Cloud. For that your Mac’s needs to be running at least OS X Lion 10.7.5 or later to make sure that everything syncs. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • My mac mini late 2012 is having resolution problems?

My mac mini late 2012 is having resolution problems?
Tried resetting PRAM and SMC but still nothing works.
Sometimes is goes back to normal. But then suddenly when I startup or wake up from sleep it changes to resolution 800x600 and stays there..
I'm using my Thunderbolt port with my minidisplay port to vga, because i don't have a HD monitor.
    Does anyone have a solution?

Hmmm, not sure on the startup, but on the sleep angle...
    Well first...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
    Then maybe...
See if it's related to this...
The 2012 macs (and later apparently) not waking normally from sleep after hours being in sleep. (noted here ...

  • Mac Mini and Audio Interface Hum

    Hie Guys,
Whenever my mac mini connect to line 6 pod xt live via USB, it gives annoying hum that never goes away unless I touch the handlebar of the line 6 pod xt live or certain parts of my guitar. It is proven , when I unplug the usb the hum dissappears.
I suspect it is more to mac mini grounding issue but i cannot be certain. Tried some possible solution and yet to try using ground lift isolator and isolator transformer.
Appreciate is anyone can suggest some help here.
    Thanks,

    I am using:
the Apple wireless keyboard, which uses bluetooth
Microsoft Mouse 4000, which uses some 2.4GHz wireless transmission to a USB dongle
    an iPhone USB sync cable
I will switch to a wired mouse and see if it subsides.
    Thanks for that suggestion!

  • Mac Mini with a Samsung smart TV problem

Hello Everybody. This is my first time in here !
I hope someone would be able to share ideas or views about my issue.
I have a Mac Mini I used to plug into a Panasonic TV, using a a Mini Display to HDMI cable. Since the Mini Display port does not carry audio, I used a mini jack stereo to RCA cable from the Mac's speaker socket to the TV's audio. Everything worked pretty OK.
I just bought a new Samsung smart TV and planned to do the same thing. However, I was horrified to discover that the audio won't carry. From a little bit of research I have made, it turns out that the TV disables the audio once it realizes the DVI does not carry any, and therefore no sound is heard even though the RCA's connected.
One way to go around it was to rename the HDMI source to DVI - PC, but it doesn't work 100% of the time (for some reason) and did not work in my case.
So far, the Samsung guys I've spoked to you haven't been very helpful and offered that I use the TV's optical sound IN (which the TV doesn't have), and even then they did not know if it worked 100%.
I've found out that Mini Display + Stereo to HDMI adapter exists, but it's very expensive here (over 50 pounds, almost $100) and I'd like to find alternatives - The TV's speakers are pretty good and I'd like to avoid buying speakers, if I could work it out with simple cable work.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

I ma having the same issue, I have one of the original Mini Mac and was connect to my Panasonic TV and everything worked fine.
I have bought a Samsung after been told by the shop it was the best and compatable only to find I like the person above cannot get any sound.
    All ideas welcome.

  • Mac Mini have a 1680x1050 wake up problem?

I have a mac mini that when connected to a 22 inch monitor with resolution of 1680 X 1050, the mini will sometimes wake from sleep or a display turned off with a gray - blank - screen. It is random - I then have to hit the on button to bring the video back. When I re-connected my 19 inch monitor with a 1280 x 1024 resolution, it works fine.  Is this a problem with the video card?  Thank you, JimFromElgin

  • Mac Mini Vs. Fritz Box 7390, ethernet problem (LAN)

    Hey wellwishers,
A few days ago my internet provider came in and installed the fibre optics internet. They came with a new modem as well, the Fritz!Box 7390. While connecting all my devices, everything seemed to work just fine, until I lined up my Mac mini. For some reason only the wireless internet seems to work. The wired connection also seems to be recognized just fine (IP configurated, green icon in front, etc.) but it doesn't seem to work at all. The browsers and programs just show there is no internet connection.
I've called the internet provider, and after several attempts of fixing it (by changing IP's and whatever) they redirected me to Apple, saying the Mac mini's with the "Farallon Network Cards" tend to show problems with this modem. There was a way of fixing it but I had to update the driver. (Mac mini is up to date)
So I had google do the dirty work for me, and I found some things to do such as removing/renaming the network preferences file, resetting the router, trying diffirent cables and check on another network to determain if it actually was the modem or the Mac mini. Been there, done that, yet I still didn't get it to work properly on the Fritz!Box only.
I've been told that I should find an update for my network card, but I haven't found a way on how to do that yet.
Where can I find devices updates like that? Anyone here seen a problem like this before with the Fritz!Box 7390? This is 2/3, hoping to find a solution here. Else I have to knock on the door of the Fritz!Box company themselves..
    Thanks!
edit: Its a Mac mini. (Mid 2011)
Had OS X Snow Leopard. Re-installed the files hoping that would work, but it didn't. Decided to just update to OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.1, hoping that would work..

    No driver required.
Does that cable work OK on another computer?
Does Network Properties show cable unplugged?
On the the other end of the cable is the light lit by the connected port?

  • Mac mini server Mid 2011 Maverick upgrade problem

Help needed I have a mac mini server mid 2011
    2x500gb hard drives
Hard Drive one is Macintosh HD
Hard Drive Two is Server HD
I upgraded to mavericks osx onto drive one Macintosh HD
I went to upgrade os x server for mavericks and it went to install on hard drive one Macintosh HD not the Server HD
So I formated both drives which partition map scheme is GUID Partition Table on both drives.
I done a new Install of Mavericks on drive one Macintosh HD that works fine
I downloaded OS X Server again and it is installing on hard drive one Macintosh HD and not Server HD
and it will not give me an option to Install on the Server HD.
I have also looked in the system preferances Startup disk and now I have a question mark showing.
When I open it it only shows Macintosh HD and NOT the Server HD
    Can someone please advise
I'm not bad on computers but this has stuped me.
Iif anyone can help please can you explain in easy terms if there is any.
    Thank you

Server.app will install on the same disk OS X resides on.
What I think you are seeking here is to have the server data on the other disk, and that is configured via Server.app, once you have Server.app installed.  Launch Server.app and select the server name at the top of the left column and then go to the Settings on the right side, and select where you want the service data there.

  • 2012 Mac Mini and WD MyBook External HDD Problems

I just bought a 2012 Mac Mini (2.5Ghz i5 version) and I can't get my WD external drive to work with it. I just tested the drive with my mid-2010 MacBook Pro, and it works just fine, pops right up and I can view/edit the files on there. When I move it back to the Mini though, the WD drive turns on and the drive starts to move like its turning on, but nothing shows up on the Mini, either on the desktop, Finder or through the Disk Utility.
Any suggestions? To my knowledge the WD drive I have is USB 2.0/3.0 compatible, and I know that the Mini has all USB 3.0 ports so I'm confused as to why it isn't working.
    Thanks in advance.

If you have Disk Utility open when you attach it to the Mini, does it show for an instant in DU?
Is it a Bus powered drive or does it have an A/C PSU?

  • Mac mini core solo 1.5 sleep problems

computer will not awake from sleep mode. anyone got the same issues?

    Comment on jord's response above:
There shouldn't be any problem with putting a computer with an audio interface to sleep. The main reason we turn off auto-sleeping on a computer with Logic is so the computer doesn't spontaneously put itself to sleep while recording. I've never had sleep troubles using Digi 002, Firebox, Saffire, FF800 or Metric Halo 2882 +DSP. Of course, I don't use an auto-sleep timer, but I always put the computer to sleep at least once a day, and never shut downthe system or unplug the audio interface.
On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some interfaces which don't like to be put to sleep. Those are likely devices which provide their own, slightly buggy, device driver (kext.)

  • 2010 Mac Mini sound skipping

Have a 2010 Mac Mini Server 4 GB RAM 2.66 Ghz running OSX Server 10.6.7.
Ever since I purchased in February 2011, the machine has had skipping audio regardless of the source - You Tube or other internet streaming, local quick time movie playback, i-tunes, you name it - it ihas audio skipping and stuttering.
I also have two 2nd Gen Apple TV's that run via Home Share from this Mac Mini.  There are no audio problems when the Apple TV's playback movies or music.  Perfect playback.
My Mac Mini is connected to my LCD TV directly via HDMI.  Have tried various different resolutions. Is this a driver problem with the Mac Mini, an interface problem with the HDMI, or what?  It is a very annoying problem that ruins the Mac experience for a family that has just cast off windows completely to go Mac!
    Please help!
Wondering if this could be a PAL/NTSC problem.  I am an American living in Sweden and purchased the Mac Mini in the US while on vacation.  The PAL 50 Mhz setting is greyed out in the display preferences.  Could this be a part of the culprit?

    Hey David,
My issue was resolved by ensuring that I was using a PAL resolution and frequency (720p @ 50 Hz or 1080p @ 50 Hz) for my PAL TV. Anything else causes audio stuttering through my HDMI cable.
Don't ask me why. Try this on your setup by using only the one of your TV's native resolutions and frequencies (Should say NTSC Television on every native TV resolution if you are in the US, PAL Television in Europe). If you do have an NTSC TV, then you might be able to use all of the 60 Hz frequency resolutions without HDMI audio out problems, but I wouldn't count on it.
From what I've researched on the issue, it is only TV's that have this problem, and it is a strange one, as it is actually a  display setting problem with an audio error symptom.

  • Mac Mini and IMac intergration

I'm preparing a presentation for my bosses who dislike having to basically halt production on other projects when exporting the print ready files of one in Indesign. (you can't package one file in indesign and work on another)
A idea i had was to find a way to take a mac mini backup and interface it so i could use my Dell XPS m1210 laptop or 17 In Imac as just the monitor.
any way i can link another computer with the Mini and just use the monitor?

    NekoLLX wrote:
    Does that make sense?
    Not really
But I think I know what you're getting at...I just answered a similar question in another post...If you're just doing this occasionally you could use Apple Remote Desktop (or a free VNC client) to control your mini's "screen". Basically on your mini go to the Sharing control panel and turn on the Apple Remote Desktop service. Then click Access Privileges button and turn on "VNC viewers may control screen with password" and assign a non-trivial password.
now on your PC or another Mac download a free VNC client. (I use the Apple Remote Desktop app ($500) so am not familiar with free clients but I hear "Chicken Of The VNC" mentioned alot) and use client to connect to mini...
If it works then you should be able to start up the mini w/out a monitor (headless) and then connect to it using VNC. you may have issues with finding mini, however, if your network/subnet changes. Maybe Bonjour will help?!?

  • Projector + Mac mini

I recently bought a Toshiba MT200 projector and I'm looking at purchasing a new Mac mini (1.66GHz Intel Core Duo).
The projector's native resolution is 854x480 pixels and I just wondered, when I connect the Mac mini to it via DVI, will the Mac mini scale the interface to this exact resolution?
I've connected my iBook G4 via mini-VGA to the VGA port on the projector and, using Screen Spanning Doctor, 854x480 isn't available, only the usual 640x480, 800x600 etc.
Will the resolutions be any different when connecting the Mac mini directly via DVI to the projector as the only display?

I've never tried it personally, but I doubt it. People have normal monitor issues so a projector is bound to put the mini up in a fit. It should work at 640x480 (stretched or not) but I doubt that it will automatically adjust if it will at all.
    Good luck
