DPC Latency problems ever fixed on P43 Neo?

I was thinking about buying the P43 Neo-F but I was wondering if the DPC problems were ever fixed in an official bios? It's been a long time since they were reported so they should be but I thought I should check first.

The latest version was released on 08/13/2009.  The name of the BIOS is A7519ICI.1A2. 
In case you should have DPC Latency Problems that lead to drop-outs during Live Audio and video streams, you can contact MSI Technical Support and they will officially provide you with this BIOS Release.  If you don't have any problems (no lags etc. related to DPC Latency Problems), then keep using the BIOS Versions of the standard release series.

Nope, as you can see it is quite up-to-date (it is updated on a regular basis (to keep it up-to-date with the standard series releases and the fixes these contain).

    I'm trying to fix my pc. I'm experiencing DPC Latency problem and it causes audio stuttering. I'm running Windows 8.1 x64. When I'm running LatencyMon, it shows me that some of my drivers give a really high latency.
    I was trying to install new drivers, turn off my soundcard (Sound blaster Audigy SE). The problem started to occur, just after a clean install of Windows 8.1, two days ago. Earlier I did not have any problems
    with DPC latency. The weird thing is, that I do not have any audio problems when playing games. The problems occur when I'm listening to music or watching movies. Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english.

    Hi,
    First, please let me know what player you use to listen to music or watch movies? I considered the codec conflict.
    If there is any third part player installed, please remove it to check the issue.
    If the issue still persists, please upload the .etl file here for further research.

    I have updated the last nvdia driver, the new bios and everything I found on this website, but It doesn't change anything...
    Apparently I'm not the only one to have this problem, but I don't know if it comes from Toshiba or from Nvdia.
    Do you know if it's normal to have four times "NVDIA High definition Audio" in the audio/video/games controllers ?
    When I seactivated it it's a litlle bit less worth (but still not good)...
    I'm using a preinstalled windows 7 64 bit version

  • MacBook Air  dpc latency problem

    My MacBook Air (2x 2.86 GHz, 128 GB SSD) has poor dpc latency values, prohibiting, e.g., recording of DAB (digital audio broadcast). The problem would seem to be caused by the "too slow" USB drivers. I wonder, whether there is a remedy for this available? For details related to dpc latency see

    PS: Elgato apparently does not provide software/drivers for recording DAB. So switching to Mac OS on my machine does not help.

    Thanks a lot for that hint, I followed your suggestions and it worked just fine. The scripts you provided in my case all appear to just switch off KbdMgr.exe without leaving me with a lot of choices. I still have to figure out whether this behaviour can be improved by editing your batch files. For the time being it probably would suffice to kill the process in the windows task manager and to switch it on again if needed by double clicking it in the c:\programs\boot camp directory. One then has to reenable the function keys manually, whereas all other tunings affected by boot camp are kept. This is slightly inconvenient, but it's ok. The differences may be due to the fact that I am dealing with a MacBook Air, not a MacBook Pro.

  • PODxt and GB2 latency problem - any fixes?

    I searched through the forum here as well as on Line6's website and so far have not found an answer to this, although it looks like other people are having similar problems. I used my PODxt with GB1 on my G4 800MHz iBook for the longest time with no problems at all, it worked beautifully. I bought a Power Mac dual 2GHz system a couple of weeks ago (new model with 10.4 on it - woohoo!) and today I hooked my POD up to it for the first time, only to find ou that there is about a quarter of a second latency in GB2 when recording with the POD.
    I have:
    Updated GB2 to the latest version
    Installed/reinstalled/updated all of the Line6 POD drivers and software
    Rebooted the system
    Power cycled the POD
    Tried every combination of audio in/out in the GB2 preferences
    I am not plugging the POD into a USB hub, it is plugged in to the USB port on the front of the Power Mac.
    As it is right now, GB2 is unusable with the POD, and it is really annoying me.
    Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks....

    Well, I tried updating everything, both my PodXT and my XTlive, the USB drivers, and whatever else Line6 had. Still no luck with GB2. So I reached into the mothball closet and pulled out my M-Audio Duo USB A/D conveter. I plugged the XT line out into that and then ran the USB right into the Powerbook. Works like a champ. So it's clearly not a USB issue, it's just that the Mac, or at least GB2 and the pods don't play well together.
    I think I saw latency in Logic Express, as well, but I can't be sure because I can't figure out how to play audio back through the Pod, so I can't actually hear anything. But the meters react later.
    To recap: Pod to GB2... bad. Pod to USB device to GB2... good.

    Hi, I'd like to avail of the latest BIOS fix for the DPC latency problem on my MSI P43 Neo-F (MS-7519) 1.0.
    I'm currently using BIOS 1.9, I haven't flashed to 1.A yet. Does 1.A include a fix or is there another BIOS that's as up-to-date as 1.9 or 1.A that would have the fix, with any links to download? I'm thinking along the lines of the A7519ICI.1xx series, whatever is the latest.

    OK, so here's the story. I couldn't relax with those voltages showing up as they were, so I flashed my BIOS to A7519IMS.1A0 (1.A), which is the latest public release for the P43 Neo-F. I was previously on A7519IMS.190 (1.9) before today.
    When I flashed to A7519ICI.104, I noticed the version number was actually 1.10B4 (which I'm guessing can actually be expressed as 1.AB4 - a beta version for the latest public release, 1.A). The flash to A7519ICI.104 solved the DPC Latency issue, as when I used A7519IMS.190 (1.9) it was spiking.
    There is a happy ending. The flash to A7519IMS.1A0 (1.A) has also shown no spikes in the DPC Latency test. It seems the fix must be present in the latest public release BIOS for the P43 Neo-F after-all!
    This screen-shot was taken just a moment ago, proof that the issue has been resolved without a modified BIOS:

  • ** SOLVED ** MSI P43 Neo DPC Latency

    Hi,
    I'm having problems with audio stuttering - that I didn't have with my previous Asrock P43R1600Twins. Running dpclat, I'm getting spikes even at idle. The screenie is about the best it runs - this deteriorates!
    All the drivers are the latest, no wireless LAN. Other than this, it's a flyer. Dead stable, no other problems at all.
    Any ideas?

    Did you download and read the PDF on the PDC tool? If not do so as it shows how to ID the problem though the process of elimination.
    Is device manager clean, no ?,! or unknown devices? No addon cards other than video?

    Did you install the chipset drivers before installing the other drivers?
    The sound and Lan drivers on the MSI sight are not the latest available. Realtek has newer ones available. I use these on my P35 Neo2-FR without problems but be warned MSI could have custom drivers that may be different than the ones from Realtek.

  • Help! Is my P43 NEO mobo the problem?

    Forgive me for being a novice. I don't really know what to do.
    I built a new computer with the following
    MSI P43 Neo (MS-7519) BIOS V1.3 (A7519IMS)
    ATI Radeon HD 4830
    2GB OCZ DDRAM2.
    Seagate SATA Hard Drive.
    LG DVD RW.
    Intel E5200
    It blue screened every time I tried to play 3D games, with ATI2DVAG.dll error. I updated all the ATI drivers, but it didn't work.
    So I sent the Radeon card back.
    Worried that the Mobo wasn't compatible with that card, I bought a ATI Radeon HD4850 instead.
    Now I get a ATI3DVAG.dll error whenever I try to play 3D games.
    Are ATI cards just not compatable with this motherboard? Or is it my memory? Or something else? Do I flash the BIOS.
    I'm running WIN XP. I was on Service pack 2, but upgraded to service pack 3 to try and fix the problem.
    Nothing works. That's two cards now, and I still can't play 3D games. It usually crashes within minutes.When the computer boots up and the MSI logo is shown, it makes two beeps. It didn't do this with the last card, but now it does. Does that mean it's the memory?
    Any ideas? I don't know where to go from here.

    Annoyed with Final Cut Pro JVC import problem; will they ever fix this?
    I've shot footage on JVC GY-HD111E in the UK in 720p/25p PAL mode.
    I'm trying to import lots of short clips (average 10 seconds) into Final Cut Pro (latest version with 720p/25p support) with a new Mac Pro maxed out with ram and 3 extra internal HDs.
    Problem is, on a scene-break i.e. pause/stop, Final Cut detects this and creates a new clip, but it takes about 5 seconds to 'searching for media" before it starts the new clip. Because some clips are only very short, this 5 second delay sometimes means I only get the final few frames of a clip, rather than the entire 5 seconds or so of it.
    JVC UK are blaming Apple and are saying it is up to them to fix it as Premiere and Edius does not have this problem.
    However, Symbiosis in the UK (who do HD-Connect box) say that the JVC ProHD cameras do not wrap the shots up properly at the end, they are kind of left open and this creates problems on scene-breaks.
    I've tried turning off the "create new clip on timecode break" etc, but it does not make any difference, when I do this it simply quits capturing on a scene break. Besides I have about 300 cutaways like this and I don't want to spend the rest of the year breaking them up on the timeline as this would be a futile and long workflow.
    I'm importing and working on a native HDV 720p/25p timeline and this is the way I want to work. I've already imported and edited 4 hours of footage, but these 4 hours were easy as all 4 tapes had no start/stop points, they were recorded continuously from beginning to end of tape for 64 minutes each time so importing was no problem; 1 clip per tape.
    But now I've come to my 5 tapes containing hundreds of cutaways I'm kind of screwed and need some advise on how I can import them natively in HDV without losing this 5 seconds off the beginning of each clip whilst FCP searches for the media each time.
    I've been told this issue is definately with FCP, any ideas how I can get around this?

    I haven't heard of this JVC/FCP problem, so I can't comment on it. However, whoever shot the cutaways didn't do you, the editor, any favors.
    I've been doing video since 1984, and I've got to say, anyone who shoots a scene that is only 5 or 6 seconds long on tape is making a huge mistake, and it's been that way since the beginning of computerized editing in the late 70s.
    Shoot at least 5 seconds of pre-roll before the shot begins, then roll tape for at least 5 seconds after you've got the shot. That's the protocol I've followed for 22 years now. Tape is cheap, edit suite time isn't.
    But laying down only 5 to 6 seconds for a scene is wrong, IMO.

  • VLC audio problems on T400 - DPC Latency Issue?

    Hi Folks,
    When I try to use VLC player to play any video on my T400, I get audio stutters and other strange effects.  I'm wondering if it might have to do with all the audio DPC Latency issues this model has had.  Does anyone else have these issues?  Windows media player seems to work just fine, by the way.  DPC Latency is high when either program is playing, but remains high when VLC has paused playback (whereas windows media player doesn't induce high DPC Latency when paused).
    I've tried tweaking the buffer of VLC player, and a million other things, but nothing seems to help.  Hence my suspicion of DPC Latency issues.

  • S20 Audio Stutter / DPC Latency...can't fix it. Need help!

    I recently (last week) bought a Lenovo S20 (Xeon W3520 with memory upgrade to 6GB). I mainly
    use this workstation as a DAW for audio recording / editing. Instead of the preinstalled Windows XP (32bit)
    and the Vista Business that comes with the DAW, I installed Windows 7. Everything went fine,
    system is stable, ThinkVantage drivers are up to date. A NVIDIA GeForce 260 is used as graphic card.
    But for audio applications my S20 as it is right now, is simply unusable. I get drop outs/stutter even with the on board sound, if I play back a mp3 or wav file. I deactived unnessary devices / background programs, tested it with HT on/off, tested it without Speedstepping and without Turbo Mode. No difference. I get a regular DPC spike every 15 seconds. And the spikes are really high (16ms). No difference if I plug in an EMU 1820 PCI card instead of the on board sound. Disabling the on board LAN didn't make a difference either.

    It's not that only Pro-Audio doesn't work on my machine. If I simply recover the Vista Business DVDs and try to play a Wav-File or Mp3 with Windows MediaPlayer I get dropouts every 15-16s - without anything else installed. Also websites for example hang if this spike occour. In my opinion this is a serious fault in my system (not to mention that I bought the workstation for Pro-Audio usage, which I simply can't do as it is right now).
    I first thought that it's maybe related to the hardware I build in (Graphic Card, SoundCard), but since it happens without any graphic card / additional soundcard installed it has to be a problem with the basis configuration.
    I'm calling Lenovo support tomorrow. I really need a replacement, since the workstation is outperformed by my old Q6600 system without any problems. And I'm really feeling like I wasted a lot of money for nothing

  • Videoprt.sys is giving me high dpc latency. Does anyone know a fix?

    Hiya. I am optimizing my windows-partition. Killing all unessecary drivers, services and processes goes a long way. Also due to sloppy coding in XP kernel, I need to set processes to idle priority, to avoid CPU2 stalling CPU1 when maxed. I have also set win32priorityseparation to 25, which is superficially similar to a low-latency linux-config I did.
    However still, I have a module "Videoprt.sys" which reports 1.5ms DPC latency. (Using RATTv3) Dpc latency checker also reports DPC latency of 1.5ms. I see computers out there with 10uS DPC latency
    Does anyone know a fix for this?

  • [SOLVED] Very strange P43 Neo-F + sata drive problem in vista...

    Well I'd been running Windows 7 flawlessly apart from a few non-related motherboard problems, so I decided to install Vista.
    Basically my main OS drive (sata) is always detected, but then occasionally (more often than not) my secondary sata drives will simply not be listed in device manager once the system is booted up. Now, I've seen this problem before, and it was sorted by right clicking 'my computer' going to 'manage' and setting the drives up to be detected. But this simply isn't the case here.They don't appear anywhere!
    It sometimes sorts itself out once I click 'Scan for hardware changes' in device manager and they magically appear as if ive just plugged in a USB device, which is fine I guess...but each time it swaps the damn drive letters around! So having media library's in Winamp, etc or putting a shortcut toolbar to my music on the taskbar is all but pointless!
    All of my hardware apart from Bluetooth has drivers installed for it, and nothing seems to be conflicting at all. Does anyone have any idea why this is
    happening? because in all my years of computing I've never seen something as strange as this...
    As far as I  know I have the latest Intel INF drivers installed (9.0.0.1011)

    My drives in BIOS are set to IDE mode (which has always been fine for me in the past). I set it to AHCI Mode to check if it boots but it just sticks on the same screen (flashing underscore). I'm sure it's driver related but I'm totally out of options now...you'd think installing the ones provided on the MSI site would get it working... :/
    Another thing is under 'Storage Controllers' in device manager, there is only an IDE Controller. I'm sure there should be a SATA one there, too?

  • MSI P43 Neo - warm reboot problem

    As well as my DPC latency issues, I now seem to have a problem with warm restarts - the POST screen stalls just after USB Controller.... that is before the results of the memory check appear. A reset generally fires it back up, though not everytime. Might need to go back to BIOS 1.5.
    Looks a bit like the BIOS on these is still "work in progress"
     

    This is becoming a real pain in the ass, having to keep resetting to get the board to complete the POST....
    This is where it locks up - I'm trying running without DRAM "Enhanced Setting" set to Auto (i.e. disabled) to see if that affects the problem - I note that the memory runs slightly slower like this, so perhaps.....

  • P43 Neo Problem

    So, i've bought an MSI P43 Neo motherboard with the folowing components : an E8400 CPU, 4 Gb of A-data Memory, Ati radeon 4870 1gb Ram. And i have this problem : when i shutdown computer, it shuts down only the LCD, the pc stays on. i have to shut it down myself from the front side buton. After that, when i turn it on again it gives me blue screen and it resets himself. It's doing this for 4-5 times after i get to enter in windows again. i have to mention that only at restart/shutdown it makes this problems. when it is on windows, the system is very stable. So, what shoult i do? What is the problem?  :(

    Please look at the PSU (Power Supply Unit) itself.  There should be a sticker on it that should tell you the brand, model name and the current limits (A) for all main voltage rails.  Write down the Information and post it here.
