DPC3825 - Can't select WEP security setting

Hi, I initially posted this on the Cisco homecommunity but I was told to ask here, so here I go:
I just set up a DPC3825 wireless router, and I wanted to use WEP security settings so my DS Lite can connect to the internet, but it appear the only options in the Wireless > Wireless Security dropdown list are :
WPA-Personal
WPA2-Personal
WPA or WPA2-Personal
Disable.
Anyone know what's going on?

Thank you for your question. Unfortunatly you were misinformed. This community is for Cisco Small Business Products which the DPC3825 is not.
However we did some research for you and found out that this is an internet service provider (ISP) supported product. In otherwords you need to contact your ISP or technology reseller that you purchased this from to help you with your question.

How can I configure FireFox security setting globally for all users on a PC? Is there something I can do in group policies or throught the registry to insure all users have the same settings?

Our Bank's core processor has rewritten their product to run in a web browser. Their browser of choice is Firefox 3.6. The specifications from our core processor specify specific security and settings parameters that must be adhered to by all users for their product to run properly. Is there a way to globally configure these settings via the registry or group policies to insure everyone who logs in to a given workstation opens Firefox with the same settings? Can't select-all to set up folder to share photos via email

Following directions, I imported photos from cds, and created files for them. Except for a few early efforts, I can no longer share multiple photos via email. The select-all feature will highlight but not outline all photos, only one, and that is the only one that ends up in the email.

I'm so sorry, I wasn't aware I was posting in the 08 arena. iPhoto 6.0.6.
Directions were from help, but also googled for iphoto. The pictures are in the mac. I hit the + button to, pardon my miserable mac vocabulary, to create a folder. I thought that is what it is called. I used to be able to go to SHARE, after creating said "folder" or whatever you call it, and then after choosing "select all", all the photos in that -- whatever you call it -- would appear in the body of the email, and all I had to do was move them around, add text, and send it off.
Now, when I hit "select all" only one photo, the one on the far left, is "highlighted" in blue. In some cases I can get all the photos in that, whatever you call it, surrounded by a gray box, with only one encircled in blue. But only the one highlighted ends up in the email.
I'm sorry for being such a moron, but I remember when Apple was easy enough to use that you didn't have to have a ten year old in your house to show you how to use it. And there was no specialized language.

I don't have a wireless router and I don't want to use a usb port to connect to the printer, so I decided to use the peer to peer method of connecting. Understanding that it is not very secure, but I disconnect as soon as I finish sending the print job.

Oh, sorry. You are trying to access the printer's Embedded Web Server. That is where you can establish the WEP security for the ad-hoc network. You do this by typing the IP address into a browser's address bar as you would if you wanted to go directly to a website.
If it does not find your printer, perhaps you have a firewall blocking communication. If your antivirus software has a firewall, disable it to see if that is the problem.

Choose the strongest security available on your router, preferably WPA2 using AES encryption and a long complex passphrase with at least 14 characters (the maximum is 63 characters).

Can't set WEP security, why?

I have a Belkin 54mb Airport Card (seen in Profiler as Airport Extreme) in my Mac running OSX 10.4.8. The card works fine with my Netgear DG834G modem/router but I can't set the security option.
I set the password in the 'Wireless Settings' page re-start after but when I key in the password Airport can't find the network. I then have to reset the modem to factory settings.
Anyone out there using this modem/router who can offer any help?

Thanks to those helped, thanks. The problem was this:
When setting up WEP security with this modem, you use the standard 10 digit 'Hex' password, ex 1234567890 but when you assign this password to the Network and Airport on your mac you must prefix it with a dolar sign, (so the pasword becomes $1234567890), apparently the dollar sign forces the Netwotk Prefs and Airport to read the numbers as 'Hex' code, as opposed to just numbers.
Hope this may help others who have this problem.

The trial can only be loaded 1 time as far as I know. You could try http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, and reboot. Then try an install again, but my guess is you will have to purchase Acrobat at this point.

All I can suggest right now is back up first the try to reset the printing system, (all printers in the list will be removed).
Then connect directly to the printer via ethernet or to the Mac using USB and restart the efforts you have made up until now.
As for router settings, it's possible but not likely that your router only allows a small number of clients. It's also posible that you have MAC address filtering on, lastly are you using the correct wireless protocol, (802.11a/b/g WEP or WPA etc)?

Playbook - can't select country or get past set up!

I'm so frustrated with this device! I want to use it but I can't get past the set up.
I get to the point where it has a drop screen to select Country but there is nothing there to pick from. As a result I can't agree to the blackberry agreement and can't do anything with the actual playbook.
I've had it for a week now. I tried with the tech boys at work but they couldn't figure it out. I'm not very tech savy but can normally figure this stuff out!!

I have also similar kind of issue - Country name not populating in drop down list.
Solution:
- Tried and tested solution
While connecting to Wi-Fi just check for the Authentication Type. I have tried with "WPA-Psk/WPA-Psk2" and it works for me. Please make sure that the Router and the BB Playbook both were using the same authentication type. Default value for routers are generally "WEP" so change it.
- Solution not tested but found in some forums.
I have heard one more solution. Shutdown your BB. Then install Desktop Manager in your Computer (PC). Connect you BB playbook with your Laptop. Once your Playbook is connected then only start it. Hopefully it will load and solve your problem. This does not even require Wi-Fi connection.

I can't make any purchases as I keep getting asked to set up questions etc. problem is the third question box won't drop down for me to select a question.

Just adding my two cents. Brand new iPhone my wife got yesterday, trying to download some apps, prompts for security question. First two questions can be selected and an answer put in fine, 3rd question will not prompt a list of options. It's as if no options are there for the 3rd question and so the button does nothing.
Until it's resolved I can't seem to use the app store at all.
Brand new iphone, fully up to date, brand new apple id.
There's at least 2 threads on this subject have posted this to both of them to try and generate some noise.

How to re-set up WEP security on a WRT100

I'm visiting at my aunt's house and her Linksys was not working properly, so I reset it to factory default, and it's working now, except now I cannot seem to find the how-to page on how to set up the WEP security again (or another security variation...whatever is appropriate now for a home-based router). Can someone sent me the url for instructions on how to do this? And is it crazy to try doing this without an ethernet cable connecting the laptop to her router? Thanks!

For you to be able to set up the security, it is imperative that you connect a cable from a computer to the router. But this is just temporary unless you are finished changing all the settings. You can do it wirelessly, but you will have to re-login again and again to the set up page because you will be disconnected every time you change a setting. Please refer to the link below:

Can no longer use WEP security on my G3 clamshell

This morning I updated OS 10.3.9 with the security update that was just released and now I have to disable my WEP security. What happened? My G5 still works fine with my Airport Extreme base station

Still hoping for some help. After updating Panther with the 2006 02 security update, I can no longer connect to my wireless network with WEP security activated. Internet Connect finds the network, and Airport is turned on, but it just spins and I have to do a force quit. I have the network and the base station passwords in my keychain, so it doesn't ask for them. My G5 hooks in fine. As soon as I turn off WEP security, resetting the base station from my G5, the G3 ibook connects automatically. I went to a lot of expense to upgrade this old iBook (Panther, airport card, new battery, upped the ram to 320 megs) and Apple suppposedly still supports it with Panther. I really don't want to be providing internet access for the whole neighborhood.
