DPM - Incorrect StartTime for Scheduled Jobs

Team,
With most that have used SC - Data Protection Manager, we have felt the built-in reporting lacking. We decided to search around for available summarization reports to better detail the backup tasks, etc, etc. In that search we discovered this widely used
community report found:
http://www.buchatech.com/2014/04/free-dpm-backup-summary-report/
Everything went smoothly importing, but when running the report we found the Created column displaying the incorrect time; off-set +4 hours as shown below:
*At the time of this image, it was 1.17PM EST
We then searched through the report, stripping away the SQL Query, located the table via the inner join responsible for the Created column which shows:
We checked the Windows Time on the Application Server, Database Server and respective Client servers all to find them set properly for Eastern Standard. At this point I am at a loss to explain how the time is logged in the database incorrectly while presented
properly in the DPM GUI, Quantum i40 Scalar appliance, and the Server OS.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Sending log files for scheduled jobs as attachment through mail

    Hi All,
Can any one please help me out to write a pl/sql program to send log files for scheduled jobs as attachment through mail.
    Thanks.

Why would anyone do that as this code has already been posted here a thousand times, it is all over the Internet, and the only thing you need to do is to search for it?
I agree it would cost you some effort, but you are getting paid for it, and we are not getting paid for delivering it on a golden plate on your doorstep, as you can not be bothered to use online resources.

  • Waiting for scheduling job to complete. Job ID...and it never completes

I have created my first Publication. It's a pretty basic single source document, single Dynamic Recipients list publication.
When I run it in Test mode (I haven't tried it in non-Test mode yet), the document(s) are never delivered.
When I view the Log File, everything looks fine. The second and last entry in the log says
"- The global delivery rule for this publication was met; publication processing will now begin."
The Status Message I see in the Publication History is:
"Waiting for scheduling job to complete. Job ID:3,879, name:Unviewed Invoices Report (Copy), kind:CrystalReport in Pending state (FBE 60509) [0 recipients processed.] "  and it never changes. I've tried this several times, creating new publications with the same source documents, and the same thing always happens.
    Any help would be appreciated.

All of the servers were configured correctly.
It turned out to be my source document, a report, had some field in it that BOE didn't like.
I removed a bunch of fields and added them back, one by one, and couldn't make the error occur again.
    Go figure.

  • DPM 2012 R2 Upgrade - Scheduled jobs not running

    Hi,
We're having an issue after upgrading to DPM 2012 R2 where the scheduled jobs are not running.
    We're running Server 2012 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2.
Looking at SQL jobs, if we run the job step we get an error.
    Message
[136] Job 18822c3e-8fe 7-47a2-bb6e-0feccecc2952 reported: The process could not be created for step 1 of job 0xA746B176EAD99943A14A57DAF684829F (reason: %1 is not a valid Win32 application)
However, if we place quotes around the triggerjob.exe path in the SQL default job step:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\DPM\DPM\bin\TriggerJob.exe" 9b30d213-b836-4b9e-97c2-db03c3eb39d7 18822c3e-8fe7-47a2-bb6e-0feccecc2952 server.domainname.com
    It is successful.
We've already uninstalled DPM 2012 R2 and re-installed, restored the database and run dpmsync -sync with the same result. We've checked the DCOM Config Launch and Activation Permissions for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager Service
    and has full access.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • OEM tables for scheduled jobs

    Hi,
What are the DB tables in which OEM is saving scheduled jobs that one can add inside the OEM web interface?
I have more than 100 jobs scheduled inside OEM and I want to get a report with job name, what that job is doing, etc. The kind of info that I can find in DBA_SCHEDULE% tables inside a DB.
I tried to get the info from DBA_SCHEDULER_JOBS but the jobs in this view are for DB only, and not the jobs that OEM is running against the databases registered with OEM.
    Thanks,

See if you find the information you want in the MGMT$JOB* views.

  • Load Balancing for scheduled job in XMII V12

    Hi XMII experts,
We are going to schedule a lots of jobs in XMII V12.
On our production server we have several JAVA Application servers.
Do you know if there is some kind of load balancing between java instance when we schedule jobs in XMII V12 ?
    Regards
    Jean-Louis

    Hi,
If there is so many Applications in one Production server, then it will be overloaded. Suppose Java Applications and xMII Application are consuming lots of memory space and you are going to schedule lots of jobs in xMII, then it will be overloaded.
First you need to check how much memory your Java Applications and xMII Aplication is consuming. If it exceeds the RAM then system will be hanged.
    Thanks,

  • Offset after trigger for scheduling jobs

We are using IR 11.1.2.1. While trying to schedule a job, would it be an option to schedule a certain number of hours after a trigger goes on(like say, 2 hours after a trigger goes on). If yea, where can I find this option?
    Thanks.

There is an option called "Externally triggered event" in workspace,I think you can use that option,Please check the following documentation

  • How to stop a scheduled job using OMB*Plus ?

    Hello everyone,
I use a OMB*Plus script to deploy a project in various environments. This includes scheduled jobs.
In this context, I need to stop the schedules of the previous versions to avoid a script crash.
I found the OMBSTOP command thad could do, but I need to retrieve the job ID of the schedule I want to stop. And I don't know how to get the Job ID.
I could get it from a previous launch and save it somewhere, but it wouldn't work if the schedule was manually stopped and restarted. Maybe is there a command that lists the running / scheduled jobs and their IDs? I didn't find it.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Cedric.

Frankly, I cannot see where this is available via pure OMB+, however you could back-door it if if you can figure out how to get these values from the public views (I would guess from the "Scheduling Views" section at http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/owb.102/b28225/toc.htm).
Then you could use my SQL library from OMB+ to get these values and stop the schedules before deploying. you can save this file as omb_sql_library.tcl and then just "source /path/to/omb_sql_library.tcl in your own script to make the functions available in your script.

So you would want to connect to the control center, query for scheduled jobs, stop them, and then continue on with your deployment. I assume that you also need to pause and check that an scheduled job in mid-run has time to exit before moving ahead. You could do a sleep loop querying against system tables looking for active sessions running mappings and waiting until they are all done or something if you really want to bulletproof the process.
    Hope this helps,
    Mike

  • Report Queue Manager  - Scheduled Jobs

Question: How/where does the Queue Manager store info for scheduled jobs?

It is possible (IN 9iAS) to configure the Reports Server to store all requests in a database table. The Table(s) / View(s) are created by the script rw_server.sql located in $ORACLE_HOME/reports/admin/sql
To configure this options, create the table and view with the rw_server.sql script, then add these lines in the
<reports server name>.conf file <jobStatusRepository class="oracle.reports.server.JobRepositoryDB"> <property name="repositoryConn" value="user/password@tnsalias" confidential="yes" encrypted="no"/> </jobStatusRepository> The "value" attribute of the property "repositoryConn" should be a user/password@tnsalias that will be used to connect to the database. The account must have access to the tables created by the script rw_server.sql The combination confidential="yes" and encrypted="no" will provoke the encryption of the value attribute once the Report Server is re-started : After the Reports Server has started you will find: <jobStatusRepository class="oracle.reports.server.JobRepositoryDB"> <property name="repositoryConn" value="ihjFFBFD3jk5Xfrd5HeX5w3dE/E=" confidential="yes" encrypted="yes"/> </jobStatusRepository> Description of the rw_server_queue view columns can be found in the script rw_server.sql itself.

  • Launchd and scheduled jobs

From what I've read, you can't rely on launchd for scheduled jobs - in my case I want to back up at 3am in the morning - upon it being woken by another application.
Now that cron is disabled - how can I achieve this scheduled tasks?
I cannot believe that Apple have released into production a component that simply does not work ( that relies on the machine being on 100% without sleeping etc ).

    Hi Stewart:
I can't speak to 10.4.3, but in 10.4.2, I just rebuilt my /etc/crontab file the way I wanted it, because cron still is a part of 10.4.2, and my Mac stays on 24x7.
Looking at the "OEM" version of Tiger's crontab, it appears that what they did was basically make a crontab file full of comment lines, so I guess when cron parsed it, there was nothing there telling cron that it had to launch something.
So, if you make a bonafide crontab file, I think (in 10.4.3) you'll be okay. If you don't recall the format for the crontab file, or don't have access to an old legacy one from 10.2 or so (I never had 10.3 so don't know whether they used cron or launchd), I can post mine here, if you'd like, that you could use as a model. I'll check back sometime later this week and see if you'd like me to post it here.
Anyhow, after I made a new crontab file, I had asked on this forum how to disable the launchd daily/weekly/monthly stuff. Although it isn't important to do so, I figured, why run it more often than once daily/weekly/monthly, at what I understood would be random times of day, if the jobs would even be run at all, based on all the reports about undesired behavior caused by reboot, sleep, etc.?
Some smart person on this forum told me that I could take the three com.apple.periodic-daily/weekly/monthly.plist files and save them off somewhere else other than in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons. So I just tarballed 'em (tar -cvvvzf com.apple.periodic-\*.plist.tgz com.apple.periodic-monthly.plist com.apple.periodic-weekly.plist com.apple.periodic-daily.plist) and left the tarball right there in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons, then deleted the originals. If I ever need 'em again I can just "tar -xvvvzf com.apple.periodic-\*.plist.tgz".
So as near as I can tell, I don't even have to fuss about whether the daily/weekly/monthly jobs are being launched by launchd, and as near as I can tell, the daily/weekly/monthly jobs are being run daily, weekly, and monthly, as appropriate, and at the desired times of day, by cron and crontab.

  • DPM 2010 Scheduled Jobs Disappear rather than Run

I have a situation where I have a DPM server that appears to be functioning fine, but none of the scheduled jobs run.  No errors are given, there are no Alerts, and there is nothing in the Event log (Application and System) which indicates a failure.
All my Protection Groups show a green tick to indicate that they are fine, but the last successful backup for all of them is Friday the 8th of February.
If I go to Monitoring and Jobs I see the jobs scheduled, but when the time comes for the job to run, it does not go into the "All jobs in progress", it just merely disappears, like thus:
    And a few minutes later,
As you can see, the jobs disappear from the queue, and the total number of jobs decreases accordingly.  These jobs do not go into any of the other 3 Statusses (Completed, Failed or In Progress), they just disappear without a trace.
There is some unallocated space, albeit not much (Used space: 21 155,05 GB Unallocated space: 469,16 GB). If space was an issue I would expect to see errors to indicate this.
DPM 2010 running version 3.0.8193.0 (hotfix rollup package 6) using remote instance of SQL 2008 which is functioning fine.  I have tried stopping/starting the services, and even rebooted the server twice.  The remote instance of SQL server is using
a domain account as its service account.  There are no pending Windows updates, i.e. it is fully up-to-date.
The System Center Data Protection Manager 2010 Troubleshooting Guide (July 2010) does not show how to troubleshoot this particular probelm.
Does anybody know how to resolve this issue or which logs might help me troubleshoot it?

    OK,
Did you change the SQL Agent user account ?
If so, DPM enters the SQL Agent account name into the registry and later we check that account each time the DPM engine launches.  The internal interfaces to DPM are secured using this account so the account name needs to match the account the SQL Agent
    is using.
    Step 1
In the registry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Setup alter  both
SqlAgentAccountName and SchedulerJobOwnerName keys to reflect the SQL Agent user account being used.
    Step 2
Update DCOM launch and access permissions to match what was granted to the Microsoft$DPM$Acct account.

The error says "System.IO.FileNotFoundException" so there must be a file missing.  Download process monitor from here:
