DPM2012SP1 RU3, Symantec SEP 12.1RU3 and IBM x3550M4 BSOD

Not directly a question, and not even directly a MS/DPM issue, I'm just sharing info if someone happens to run into a similar situation.
We had a case where our DPM2012 SP1 RU3, installed on Server 2012 and running on IBM x3550 M4 with all the latest firmwares and updates installed, kept on power-cycling itself without any prior notice or event logs (on either Windows or IBM IMM).
We suspected a hardware issue, and changed half of the parts to the server, and the moved into reinstalling the OS and DPM.
None worked, until it was discovered by IBM support that it was Symantec's "teefer2.sys" interfering apparently with some parts of the DPM/VSS in suchs maner that it kept on crashing the whole server.
After uninstalling the Symantec, the server and DPM has been stable as a rock.

Sorry to hear that, I am Chetan Savade from Symantec Technical Support Team.
Teefer is the firewall driver. Teefer get the packets from network interface.
If possible please involve Symantec support team and provide them necessary logs to reproduce same issue to find a permanent solution.

ISE and Symantec SEP 11 Interworkering Question

Hi guys,
I have a question about ISE and Symantec SEP 11.
In my customer envrionment, they want to build a wireless byod work place. But the endpoints are installed SEP software.
Do you know the workflow for the SEP, when it check the system is not secrity then put my endpoints to the guest VLAN.
In my opinion, the endpoints should authenticationed and authorized by ISE first.
Then, the endpoints should connect to internet successfully.
Now, if the endpoints using SEP software to check the system status.
What should the SEP do if the system is not safe?
Is the SEP return a signal to Switch, let it change the Vlan configuration of the interface to the Guest Vlan ?
But this action will cause the AP disconnect to the WLC, and makes all the clients which is connect to this AP is disconnect.
Somebody knows it ?

Thanks for your reply.
I've search the SEP web site and found some work flow. And I combine them to my environment.
I'm not sure it's right, the flow is:
1. Client computer connects and send logon through EAP.
2. The WLC forwards the user name and passwrod to the LAN Enforcer.
3. The LAN Enforcer forwards the username and password to the ISE server.
4. The ISE server generates and EAP challenge.
5. The LAN Enforcer receives the EAP challenge and adds the Host Integrity check.
6. The LAN Enforcer checks the Host Integrity results and forwards them to the ISE server.
7. The ISE server performs EAP authentication and sends the result to the LAN Enforcer.
8. The LAN Enforcer receives the authenticaiton result and forwards it and the action to take to the WLC.
9. If the client passes the EAP and Host Integrity challenges, the WLC allows network access.
But when i configure the WLC, the RADIUS server address is the ISE server ip address. That means WLC forwards the username and password to the ISE server directly, and it will not through to the LAN Enforcer.
So this is very confused me.
Do you know why?

How to synchronize PI service registry and IBM WSRR

In our current project we have developed one web service which resides in SAP CE and is registered in SAP PI Service Registry.
But our client has IBM websphere that acts as a middleware for all ther services (interfaces/web services)
Now, I need to understand how to synchronize SAP PI Service Registry with IBM WSRR (Websphere Services Registry and Repository)
What are the steps/configurations need to be performed at PI end and IBM WSRR end?

RFC calls with SAP JCO and IBM resource adapter for SAP - basic tuning

Hi experts,
we are working on a java portal connected to a backend system SAP by calling RFCs.
On our first integration tests, it appears to be quite slow fetching data from SAP by calling the remote functions from the custom portal. We are using SAP JCo 3.0.6 and IBM resource adapter for SAP 7.0.0.3 to integrate SAP with our portal.
Is there any basic tuning to achieve to improve performances or any hint of where to tune in SAP ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jamal,
I understand you have already checked performance issues in the SAP Server. We had some problems with certain RFC calls and it turned out to be a badly developed ABAP sentence.
I'd recommend you to use httpwatch or another tool to check the response times from the browser, so you can point accurately where the is.

mmmh. Did you compared the select count(*) from your_table; in the two cases.
If the result is not good and nobody has deleted rows between migration and your test, you migration need to be replayed.
Which migration did you select, Transportable database or exp/imp...?

Weblogic 8.1 App Server and IBM MQ Series 5.2 Issue

 I am trying to create a bridge between Weblogic 8.1 App Server and IBM MQ Series 5.2 and i am facing issues.
 Bridge works fine if i use QualityOfService="Atmost-once" and i am getting following error when i use
 QualityOfService="Duplicate-okay".

It is weird that nothing shows up in the log after you turned on the debug.
 Actually I knew somebody has run into the same problem once.
 The problem disappeared after he did something on the MQSeries side (like
 restart the system and something else). I did not know exactly what he did.
 I am not sure if that will help you but worth trying.
 If that does work either, I'd suggest that you contact the BEA Customer Support
 and somebody will look at it for you in depth.

How to determine which one to use?Native MQ refers to a proprietary api provided by IBM in multiple languages including java so that applications running on these can communicate mq. 2. If native MQ can be used here, what are the steps to configure Native MQ on WLS in my situation?SOA suite provides a MQ Resource Adaptor which can be used to connect to MQ. The developers of this resource adapter would have used the native api to enable the adaptor to talk to MQ, so that you dont have to worry about it. However you will need to configure the properties of your local MQ ( qmgr , q name etc). This is done in the outbound connection pool properties of the resource adaptor.

Since your MQ installation is in a remote machine you will have to configure the following properties specific to your environment - hostname, port, server connection channel, along with the queue manager name and queue name
3. Do I need any foreign servers or message bridges to be configured?Not required for your case if you are using MQ Adaptor. Since MQ also provides a JMS transport , you would have required foreign servers if you have to use JMS Adaptor instead of MQ Adaptor. Native MQ is expected to be faster than MQ JMS as it doesn't have the extra JMS layer.

Submitform as pdf mailto with cc and IBM Lotus inotes blank address

I have a form with a standard button to send the entire pdf by mail. My mail client is IBM Lotus iNotes. When I include a cc variable or two address in the address field, both address and cc field is left blank in inotes when it opens. I have adobe professional 9.0 and IBM Lotus iNotes 8.5.2. This is my button javascript code on its click event:

I think it's an iNotes problem. I've compared both urls created while is launching iNotes and when cTo: has one single address, the url presents the SendTo field filled, but when cTo has two address, there is no SendTo field in the url.

These urls are built by iNotes I suppose and iNotes doesn`t work properly in this matter.
