DPS App Builder - certificates and account issue

Hi,
I'm working on an App for a client who's going to use it internally with his employees.
My company has an Enterprise account and I'm a member of it.
Working with the Creative Cloud - not using the same email address as the Admin of the Enterprise account.
I finished creating the InDesign files, the certificates etc. I can launch "Create the app" in InDesign and fill the first steps in DPS App Builder but when I try to add the certificates it says:
"App ID inside the mobileprovision file contains "*". This type of mobileprovision app ID is only applicable for Enterprise signed builds. You will need to re-generate this file with a valid app ID."
Can the problem comes from the fact that I'm not logged into CC with the Enterprise Admin email address? Or because I'm set in the Enterprise Account as a member and not Admin?
Thank you for your help!
Sophie_HH

I figured it out. I was confusing the p12 file for the push notifications with the original developer p12 file. All fixed.

  • DPS App Builder Sign and Download p12 problem

I'm working on my first multi-folio app. I have created the app in DPS App Builder, but when downloading the .ipa file, the Sign and Download dialogue flags the p12 file.
I recreated the p12 and mobileprovision files, rebuilt the app, and the same problem occurs. I looked at the forum and there was a suggestion that those files be placed in the root folder, but the situation is unchanged.
According to the Key Chain and my Apple Dev account, all certificates are valid.
My IOS dist and development certificates were created a several months prior. Don't know that it has anything to do with the mobileprovision and p12 certs which have been newly created today, but wanted to mention it in case I have to redo all certification files to get past this one step.
    Any insight appreciated.

If you are DPS single edition user, then you need to enter serial number to activate app.
But it would be more helpful if you let us know which DPS edition you have?

  • How to move an App from one mac to DPS App builder on another mac

When I try to download the Developer app, after adding new UDIDs to the provisioning certificate, I get an error stating the app was built on a different machine. Everything works great when completed from the original Mac that I did the build on. (this was created on a "freelance design" machine and now needs to move to the company machine. I have tried to delete the app and start over, howeve the "Delete" option is grayed out. Using the single edition app.

If you are a Creative Cloud subscriber, you would need to have InDesign Installed on the new Mac. Then you need to click on 'Create App' from Folio Builder Panel in InDesign on the new Mac. That will launch DPS App Builder and embedd the folio in your App. So bottomline is that you need to do this process on the new Mac.
If you however purchased DPS Single Edition ($395) you may export the Folio from Folio Producer and then import the folio in DPS App Builder and continue buliding the App.
I can delete the app for you, send me your DPS App Builder id and App name via Private Message.

  • Cant sign to DPS app builder in to download distribution ZIP file

I cant sign in to DPS app builder, with the very same P12 and distribution certificate I used to create the app. the app is visible in the DPS app builder. however I just cant download it. Right before download it asks me to sign in... i define paths for P12 file and distribution certificate and i type my pass for P12 file... but after a while it returns me sign ion error message - conatantly.
Btw, my folio and article in it doenst have any special chars (only a-z). Thank you.

Try the following if you are a Creative Cloud customer:
    1) Make sure DPS App Builder is no longer running on your machine. Go to the DPS App Builder menu and make sure you quit, so it's really shut down.
    2) Sign out of Folio Builder Panel in InDesign, then close InDesign.
    3) Run InDesign and sign into Folio Builder Panel
    4) From Folio Builder Panel select Create App in the flyout menu and proceed with the app creation process.
If you are getting a signing failure, rather than a sign in failure, try the three solutions at http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/app-builder-error-signingfailed.html.

  • Title ID doesn't recognize DPS App builder user

I'm in the process of creating my first app with the Professional edition. I added a new user and set the user to DPS App Builder. When I try to use the DPS App Builder user email in the DPS App Builder, it's not recognized. I've tried signing out, reinstalling DPS App Builder. Not sure what else to do? Also should note that I don't have a user designated as an Application user. It seems like you only need any Application user if you are creating a custom viewer, which I'm not, since I'm using the Professional edition. Could this be the cause?
I also tried to set the DPS App Builder user as Account Administrator, but I get an error - "Sorry. An error occurred. Please try again."

App builder role : Used to login to App builder to create App
Application Role: Used as the "Title ID" in App builder when creating an app. This is the same email ID from which your folios are published for that particular app you are about to create
So, make sure you have two ID's, one with App builder role and another with application role to be able to create an app in a Pro account
    Thanks

  • I'm subscribe creative cloud membership, but the individual membership limits to produce iPad only app. How can I solve this problem? DPS app builder is not showing ipad iphone option, and membership is requiring enterprise subscription.

    Hi,
I'm operating digital publishing company, and I'm an individual subscriber of CC.
When I use DPS app builder for making ipad+iphone app, the DPS is only showing iPad option as default.
And it's not possible to enroll Newsstand app either.
How can I make ipad+iphone app which is fully supporting newsstand?
Is it possible upgrading from individual to professional/enterprise subscriber?

You will need at least a professional DPS account. Creative Cloud allows only single edition iPad apps.

  • DPS App Builder Download Issue

I guess I hijacked another thread, but I should have posted this separately since the issues are different. Here is my problem.
    I am a CCloud subscriber.
In my case, I have do not have any sign-in errors with the Builder...The App building process "works" for a Single Edition App, but then on the final screen nothing is listed under "Downloads." Under App Details it says : Activate App, App Type: Built-in Single Edition App. When you click Activate it gives this message: Activate your Single Edition app by purchasing a serial number from the Adobe Store.
    What's going on?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, here's what I will suggest.
Drag and drop DPS app builder to trash
    Empty your trash
    Reboot your machine
Launch InDesign and go to the "help" menu and check for updates.
Make sure Indesign is on the latest update
Re-download the latest version here https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/SignIn.html
Login to your folio builder panel with your credentials
Click and highlight your folio and go up to the flyout menu and click "create app"
Let me know the new result

  • Problems with DPS app builder and distribution mobileprovision

We followed all the steps when building the distribution mobile provisioning file, but the DPS app builder won't let us get past the certificate screen. It says that our file is not "Not a distribution mobileprovision file".
The file is a distribution mobileprovision file.
    Any help or ideas?

Please PM me the e-mail ID used to activate the serial(i.e appbuilder login e-mail) and I'll reset the serial and get back to you provided the serial number was never used to publish a live app

I cant login to DPS App Builder. Get this error: ERROR This account does not have permission to access App Builder. Learn more about how to resolve this problem.

    Then you either need to:
    1) Sign up for Creative Cloud so you can build a Single Edition app. Be warned though: this approach will no longer be valid as of May 1st when we retire support for Single Edition in Creative Cloud, and Single Edition apps are only on iPad devices.
    2) Sign up for a full DPS license. You can request pricing information by filling in Adobe | Request for consultation.

  • I have a problem, i can't generate with DPS App Builder "App distribuzione.zip" to be sent to Apple to publish APP, this is the error message: is not a valid distribution certificate Apple. What do I do?

As Bern510 says, you'll need to recreate certificates that are valid. I suggest following our step-by-step publishing guide, which walks through how to obtain certificates correctly.

  • DPS APP Builder Error Code 1

    Hello,
I'm getting an Error Code 1 message when trying to download the test APP from the DPS APP Builder. I've tried re-building the document (a process that takes almost 8 hours in my case as our APP features 110 articles including almost 1000 images), updating it, generating new certificates and any other workaround mentioned in a previous discussion about this same subject. Nothing worked for me.
The only workaround I haven't tried is deleting the folio from ~/Library/Preferences/StageManager.BD092818F67280F4B42B04877600987F01 11B594.1/Local Store/dmp.
Apparently, there's nothing called "StageManager" in my MacBook Pro. Not in this route neither in any other route.
Any idea about how to solve this? (if possible without re-building once again the whole document) We can't wait until the error code 1 bug is fixed in future Adobe updates as we need to submit the APP to Apple next week.
    Thanks for your time.

    Anyone can help??
    Update my latest experimental results.
I found that issue was folio package related.
Because when I use another folio package to the same app item in App Builder, this error message does not appear.
But the original package in exchange, this error information occurs.
Are there helpful to solve this problem?

  • DPS App Builder Login Fail when start in Folio Builder

After using Adobe Viewer to preview and check everything is OK in my folio, I clicked on "Create App" in Folio Builder.  DPS App Builder then returns with "Sign in failed, please try again".  If I start DPS App Builder individually, I can sign-in with my CC account without any problem.  What is the problem?  I used them on my machine to try to build apps and it actually worked before.

    Bob
Yeah, I am a full CC and active subscriber. The install of App Builder was fresh, just did the update. I'll throw some new twists into the mix here, and I think it at least begins to narrow the landscape of the issue, but only to the degree that I think it isolated.
This problem issue, and a similar issue on another Mac where there is a sign in failure in App Builder, are all on managed computers, ones that my employer controls the admin [Univeristy]. On students' personal Macs, and my personal Mac at home, all is just fine, in fact just built a test app a few minutes ago. To me at least, this seems to be an issue of the App Builder not playing well in these kinds of user situations, namely when the user logged in has no admin control over the computer itself, only managed use of an account.
I will be consulting with my IT support, but honestly I think I am the one out in front on the DPS here and they may not be able to help at all. Which is bad since this course has a requirement that the students build their DPS app, test it and submit to the app store, but not all have Macs to use of thier own. I will also submit a question to Adobe regarding this.
Thanks for your help. I'll post the outcome.
