DPS App Builder Login Fail when start in Folio Builder

After using Adobe Viewer to preview and check everything is OK in my folio, I clicked on "Create App" in Folio Builder. DPS App Builder then returns with "Sign in failed, please try again". If I start DPS App Builder individually, I can sign-in with my CC account without any problem. What is the problem? I used them on my machine to try to build apps and it actually worked before.

Yeah, I am a full CC and active subscriber. The install of App Builder was fresh, just did the update. I'll throw some new twists into the mix here, and I think it at least begins to narrow the landscape of the issue, but only to the degree that I think it isolated.
This problem issue, and a similar issue on another Mac where there is a sign in failure in App Builder, are all on managed computers, ones that my employer controls the admin [Univeristy]. On students' personal Macs, and my personal Mac at home, all is just fine, in fact just built a test app a few minutes ago. To me at least, this seems to be an issue of the App Builder not playing well in these kinds of user situations, namely when the user logged in has no admin control over the computer itself, only managed use of an account.
I will be consulting with my IT support, but honestly I think I am the one out in front on the DPS here and they may not be able to help at all. Which is bad since this course has a requirement that the students build their DPS app, test it and submit to the app store, but not all have Macs to use of thier own. I will also submit a question to Adobe regarding this.

Sounds like you may have deleted something you shouldn't have. Boot to an OS X DVD or a bootable backup, and using Disk Utility, do a repair disk, and while there repair permissions. Disconnect any peripherals, and reboot. If you get the same startup behavior, do a safe boot, by holding the shift key down when booting. If that works, try a normal boot. If neither step helps, you may need to relaod your operating system.

I have a question. (Might be simple to many).
Logon of user in client failed when starting a step.
Some of my scheduled jobs are getting cancelled due to the above error. It has been noted that the user corresponding to that job has been locked.
Can anybody suggest how to change the user of a Background Job (without deleting and re-creating the same).

You cannot change the owner of the job once it is in released status.
Better, create the job with same varient by an existing user and delete the cancelled job.

Mac App Store login fails, but Apple ID/password is correct.

OK, I just went to get an App, and login failed repeatedly (5 times). In between, I went to iTunes and opened up my account info, which required login, which worked. Same on iCloud on my browser.
Now, I go back about 10 minutes later, and now suddenly the Mac App Store login works.
Weird.

that is a great question you just brought up here and we luckily have an answer!
You cannot launch Firefox in private and non-private sessions simultaneously because the cookies and cache would be saved in your non-private session and therefore would ruin all the advantages that the private session brings to your web experience. I hope this could perhaps illuminate you a little bit. ;-)

Crystal reports "Database login failed" when using push method

I have a web application (ASP.NET, .NET v3.5), that pushes data to a CR 2008 report. On two servers one of the three reports returns a "Database login failed" error. I am stumped since there is no login, it's push not pull; in addition the problem is hard to debug since it works fine from my developers workstation. I have "updated" the xsd in that report, reinstalled the app, etc., non of which helped. If anyone has a solution or even ideas I'd appreciate the help.

What about following the troubleshooting steps as described in the blog;
Create an XML file off of your dataset. Make sure this is done just before you set the dataset to the report:
rpt.Load(rptPath)
myDataset.WriteXml(xmlPath, XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema)
rpt.SetDataSource(myDataset)
Copy the above created XML to your development system
Open the problem report in the Crystal Reports designer
In the Desigger, go to the Database menu and select u201CSet Datasource Locationu201D
In the u201CReplace with:u201D pane, expand the u201CCreate New Connectionu201D folder.
Double click the u201CADO .NET (XML)u201D icon
Browse to the location of the XML file you created in step (1)
Click on the path to the XML. The <Update> button should enable
Click on the <Update> button
Typically, either of the following will happen:
You will get a u201CMap Fieldsu201D dialog. This indicates that the XML written off of your dataset does not match what the report is expecting. This may be due to incorrect fields name, incorrect field type, etc. You will now need eliminate the difference.
Incorrect data or no data. There is an issue with your dataset and you need to determine why the data is not present in your dataset. Looking at the XML may be a good place to start.

I've checked and checked and the only thing running on that box is the node manager!
The console will start a managed server on the local system (i.e. the system

Login fails when connecting to SQL Server 2008

There were 3 databases and a report server database on sql server 2008 r2. All were renamed. Now, when trying to connect to sql server I am getting a login failed error for default database. I'm guessing because the default db name was changed. How
can I fix this so that I can connect to the db server\instance?

a SQL Server login name to connect to instance via SQL Server authentication, when you change the default database name, it will

I recommend you change the default database any existing database on your server like master via clicking on Option , or you can run following statement for username
to replace your original database name with master.

Folio Builder login fail

Hi,
I've a trial version of InDesign CS5.5 with Digital Publishing tools instaled but i can't login in the folio Builder Panel. I used the same ID in both Adobe.com and Folio Builder Panel.
How can I resolve that problem?

Animation will not work on when previewing in Folio builder

I have created a simple animation in Edge Animate, but when I place it in InDesign and preview it only displays the poster image. When clicked it fades to nothing.
This is the process I followed thus far:
Created shapes in illustrator and saved it as a SVG.
Imported SVG in Edge animate, made a simple animation of the shapes getting larger and made a poster snap
Gone to publish settings
Ticked Animate Deployment Package and saved in Target direectory .\publish\animate_package
In indesign placed the edge .oam file in
gone to the folio builder and gone to preview > preview on desktop

When preparing a demo we had a similar experience. We animated an SVG file from Illustrator in Edge Animate.
The preview looked fine in a Browser.
From InDesign, the placed OAM package would not play in the Desktop Content Viewer, did not play on a connected iPad and did not play when it was exported with the Folio Builder in the iPad Content Viewer.
I renamed the .oam file to .zip and unzipped it.
In the resulting folder you will find an Assets folder with an .html file.
I created a Web overlay in InDesign and selected the .html file from the Assets folder (and set the Autoplay checkbox)
The preview in the Desktop Content Viewer showed nothing, but the animation played on a directly connected iPad and when exported from the Folio Builder in the iPad Content Viewer.
I tried also to use the html export version from Edge Animate, but that does not work.
The animation needs 2 javascripts that are included in a folder "edge_includes" in the OAM file (and in the "Assets" folder), but that folder is missing and they are only referenced from the web in the exported html from Edge Animate and that does not seem to load in the folio.
So it can work with a little effort: unzip the .oam file and use the html from the Assets folder.

I have tried with varying attachment file names and it consistently only happens if there is a capital in the extension. For example:
.pdf - Works
.PDF - does not work
.Pdf - does not work
.pDf - does not work
It also seems to happen across document types, PDF, DOCX, XLSX, etc. So that doesn't seem to be dependent either.
Anyone run into this before or is there a KB article or a setting that I am missing somewhere that explains how to resolve this?Thanks!

By default, there are 8 bindings for DOCX. Do you see any other bindings available?

X6 app. Manager fails to start

Model: nokia x6 16GB
problem: inside application manager when I try opening installed apps, it just shows processing for few sec n goes back to app. manager menu.
Tried removing software which I installed before the prop started but no use.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I think you probably have too many applications installed on your X6. If you can ditch a few more non essential apps then your app manager should start working again. This issue has been discussed at length before, check out the following thread...

Anonymous user login - failed to start EP server

I changed UME properties to allow anonymous access on EP.
1. Created a user "anonymous" on ABAP system ( i m using ABAP system for users no ldap)
2. On ep.. System admin ->system configuration -> UM configuration -> Direct editing
3. Changed ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids to "anonymous"
4. ume.login.anonymous_user.mode = 1. This property was already 1.. so kept it as it is
5. Save all changes and restarted the Server using MMC control. Ep dint start

Whenever I try to send a message with thunderbird, I get the error "Login to server smtp.googlemail.com failed." I've tried both ports listed by the gmail help article. Connection security is set to SSL/TLS, authentication: normal password, and username is my full email address.
I can receive emails just fine, but I can't send any. I have 2-step authentication turned on and have generated an app password for thunderbird. How do I fix this?

Dev subscription app - Apple login fails

Hi there,
We have a live 'multi-folio with iTunes subscription' app to which we're adding social sharing. I've created a development version using the same details as live, but with a different title ID, so we can test with different folios (there's an additional help page in the folios, explaining the sharing).
The development app installs (on a phone) ok, but when opened and the user is challenged for Apple login details (to subscribe or recover previous content) no combination of username/password is accepted, even though the same details work ok for downloading others apps etc. Have we messed something up in the rebuild, it's not something I've seen before?
