DPS App Builder Sign and Download p12 problem

I'm working on my first multi-folio app. I have created the app in DPS App Builder, but when downloading the .ipa file, the Sign and Download dialogue flags the p12 file.
I recreated the p12 and mobileprovision files, rebuilt the app, and the same problem occurs. I looked at the forum and there was a suggestion that those files be placed in the root folder, but the situation is unchanged.
According to the Key Chain and my Apple Dev account, all certificates are valid.
My IOS dist and development certificates were created a several months prior. Don't know that it has anything to do with the mobileprovision and p12 certs which have been newly created today, but wanted to mention it in case I have to redo all certification files to get past this one step.
Any insight appreciated.
Rob

I figured it out. I was confusing the p12 file for the push notifications with the original developer p12 file. All fixed.

  • Cant sign to DPS app builder in to download distribution ZIP file

I cant sign in to DPS app builder, with the very same P12 and distribution certificate I used to create the app. the app is visible in the DPS app builder. however I just cant download it. Right before download it asks me to sign in... i define paths for P12 file and distribution certificate and i type my pass for P12 file... but after a while it returns me sign ion error message - conatantly.
Btw, my folio and article in it doenst have any special chars (only a-z). Thank you.

Try the following if you are a Creative Cloud customer:
    1) Make sure DPS App Builder is no longer running on your machine. Go to the DPS App Builder menu and make sure you quit, so it's really shut down.
    2) Sign out of Folio Builder Panel in InDesign, then close InDesign.
    3) Run InDesign and sign into Folio Builder Panel
    4) From Folio Builder Panel select Create App in the flyout menu and proceed with the app creation process.
If you are getting a signing failure, rather than a sign in failure, try the three solutions at http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/app-builder-error-signingfailed.html.

  • DPS App Builder - certificates and account issue

    Hi,
I'm working on an App for a client who's going to use it internally with his employees.
My company has an Enterprise account and I'm a member of it.
Working with the Creative Cloud - not using the same email address as the Admin of the Enterprise account.
I finished creating the InDesign files, the certificates etc. I can launch "Create the app" in InDesign and fill the first steps in DPS App Builder but when I try to add the certificates it says:
"App ID inside the mobileprovision file contains "*". This type of mobileprovision app ID is only applicable for Enterprise signed builds. You will need to re-generate this file with a valid app ID."
Can the problem comes from the fact that I'm not logged into CC with the Enterprise Admin email address? Or because I'm set in the Enterprise Account as a member and not Admin?
    Thank you for your help!

  • DPS App builder - signing in failed

    Hello,
Im trying to download a viewer for testing and it doesn't work. Keeps sending the message "signing failed, please try again".
I tryed again and again and... doesnt work. I tryed to download other viewers and i have the same problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Pedro

I have had this issue since friday - and it is still happening. Spent the last hour only using the first three articles and it all seems to work fine. Add the next article and the 'Signing Failed' error comes up - so there is nothing wrong with my certificates.
I have a conference tomorrow at which I am meant ot be showcasing this - and I can not get it to work! What an utter joke - Adobe get you to pay every month for Cloud membership - and this is a fundamental part of the DPS suite. This is obivioulsy a huge glitch and is a common problem from what I understand!
Everythng was working fine up until Friday - I am now going to have to show case an incoplete app to the EMEA leaderhsip of my firm! Come one Adobe - get your freaking act together!

  • Problems downloading in the DPS App builder

I am having problems creating my test app in the DPS App builder.
I can create and send app from (InDesign CS6) the folio builder–to the DPS App builder, but when I reach the final screen nothing appears listed under the "Downloads" area. The app type only appears as "built-in single edition app" and directs me to 'activate app' and purchase a serial number, which is not what i want to do. I just want to download it to iTunes to test it on my personal iPad.
It's the same issue from this thread..
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4786587
I followed the steps closely (installing updates to InDesign, reinstalling the DPS App builder) but it is still not working.
    I'm really stuck, help!!!
    Ryan

Any CC membership will do. You need to firtly go to InDesign and use the create app link from Folio builder Panel, that will launch your DPS App Builder, sign in with your CCM id and create an app. You should be able to download the build, if not then we may need to delete your previous build, send me a PM with your Viewer Builder id.

  • Cannot download developer app (.ipa) in DPS App Builder

I built my articles in InDesign CC 9.2.1, previewed the folio on my desktop and iPad. No problems.
I followed the instructions in the Step-by-Step Guide to Publishing iPad apps. Created the p12 certificates and mobile provisioning files. No problems.
Built the app following the steps on page 49. Select folio... Create app... Signed in... App Details panel... Icons and splash screens... Selected mobile provision files... Create app...
    Everything worked....
But now I've hit a brick wall.
In the DPS App Builder I cannot download the developer app (.ipa) to test on my iPad...
I get a red outline around the developer p12 input field.
I've checked and re-output the developer p12 file and the password... tried again and again...
How can I fix this and move forward?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    OK it worked... fifth try...
I exported a new p12 development certificate from Keychain access (as described on pages 19-20).
Then I logged back into the DPS App Builder... Manage... download developer app (.ipa)... selected the new developer p12... and password....
... after getting a "server error"... tried again and it worked...
For the record I did not do anything different in each of my five attempts... but this time it worked and I was able to download the .ipa file to my desktop...

  • I'm getting the "App Activate" error when I try to download my bundles from the DPS App Builder.

I have a Single-App subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud.
According to this FAQ (link: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html#single-app) I should be able to publish unlimited single .folios with DPS with my Single-App subscription to the Creative Cloud. Here is the exact paragraph I'm refering to from that FAQ:
As a Creative Cloud member, do I have access to Digital Publishing Suite?
Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition is not available to free Creative Cloud members. Creative Cloud single-app and complete members have an unlimited Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition license. Creative Cloud for teams members also have an unlimited Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition license.
When I build the app in the DPS App Builder and reach the end of the process, I'm getting the error where it asks me to provide a Single Edition subscription serial to download the developer bundles for my app.
I have tried all the methods described on this forum to solve this problem, including deleting and reinstalling the DPS App Builder, deleting the old apps and creating new ones after redownloading the DPS App Builder, deleting the DPS App Builder, signing out of my Folio Builder in InDesign, redownloading the DPS App Builder, signing into my Folio Builder in InDesign again, etc., to no avail.
Can anyone help? This is a time-sensitive issue and I'm trying to get this app into the Apple submission process immediately. I can answer any questions if you all have troubleshooting advice for me.
    Thanks,
    David

Thank you for the information and the response. We will be upgrading to the full version of Creative Cloud to publish our single .folio.
I do want to remark on the issues created by Adobe's inconsistent explanation of how DPS can be used with the Creative Cloud. After reading that FAQ, I also spoke with an "Adobe Agent" through the chat system that pops up on various product pages and asked the agent as specifically as I could if the Single-app version of Creative Cloud would allow me to publish single .folios through DPS. In no uncertain terms the agent said the Single-app version would be fine, and referred me to the order page to begin the order process.
I spoke with another agent over chat in the morning on Saturday and they also said I should be able to publish single .folios with the Singe-app subscription to Creative Cloud. When I presented my App Activation problem to the agent, the agent said I should just wait 24-48 hours for my subscription to Creative Cloud to process so I could create my app.
This has been a very vexing process that has cost my team valuable app review time. If I had not encountered the FAQ and two agents who specifically told me that I could use the Single-app version of Creative Cloud to publish my .folio, I would have been happy to go straight to purchasing the full version of Creative Cloud.
    Thanks again for the assistance.

  • How to move an App from one mac to DPS App builder on another mac

When I try to download the Developer app, after adding new UDIDs to the provisioning certificate, I get an error stating the app was built on a different machine. Everything works great when completed from the original Mac that I did the build on. (this was created on a "freelance design" machine and now needs to move to the company machine. I have tried to delete the app and start over, howeve the "Delete" option is grayed out. Using the single edition app.

If you are a Creative Cloud subscriber, you would need to have InDesign Installed on the new Mac. Then you need to click on 'Create App' from Folio Builder Panel in InDesign on the new Mac. That will launch DPS App Builder and embedd the folio in your App. So bottomline is that you need to do this process on the new Mac.
If you however purchased DPS Single Edition ($395) you may export the Folio from Folio Producer and then import the folio in DPS App Builder and continue buliding the App.
I can delete the app for you, send me your DPS App Builder id and App name via Private Message.

If you are DPS single edition user, then you need to enter serial number to activate app.
But it would be more helpful if you let us know which DPS edition you have?

  • I'm subscribe creative cloud membership, but the individual membership limits to produce iPad only app. How can I solve this problem? DPS app builder is not showing ipad iphone option, and membership is requiring enterprise subscription.

    Hi,
I'm operating digital publishing company, and I'm an individual subscriber of CC.
When I use DPS app builder for making ipad+iphone app, the DPS is only showing iPad option as default.
And it's not possible to enroll Newsstand app either.
How can I make ipad+iphone app which is fully supporting newsstand?
Is it possible upgrading from individual to professional/enterprise subscriber?

You will need at least a professional DPS account. Creative Cloud allows only single edition iPad apps.

  • Problems with DPS app builder and distribution mobileprovision

We followed all the steps when building the distribution mobile provisioning file, but the DPS app builder won't let us get past the certificate screen. It says that our file is not "Not a distribution mobileprovision file".
The file is a distribution mobileprovision file.
    Any help or ideas?

Please PM me the e-mail ID used to activate the serial(i.e appbuilder login e-mail) and I'll reset the serial and get back to you provided the serial number was never used to publish a live app
