DPS app on Microsoft Surface?

How do I get my DPS iPad app towork on Microsoft Surface? Make a custom folio right?

Find yourself a Windows 8 developer - they're out there.
I re-published my DPS app for Windows 8 - desktop and tablet, including Surface - but Adobe DPS is not yet part of the process.
A friend published a little diagramming app for Win8 called Sekvenz (free 30-day trial http://sekvenz.com/I think) He looked at my app and said that since I already had all of the content, that he would help me re-craft it for Win8. There were a few give and takes, of course, but the app is now live (and free) in the Win8 store under the title "Todas las letras." It's a Spanish language children's book with interactivity, audio, and a letter-writing canvas.
It was my need for the trifecta, iPad, Android, Windows. I paid this guy in beer, your Win8 developer might have other requirements, though.
FWIW My experience of the Surface tablet is very good. I think that my publication looks very slick and runs smoothly. But I don't own a Surface, I agree that it has drawbacks, odd screen size, resolution, um, price.

  • 3D Apps on Microsoft Surface

    Hi,
I am wondering about how to build 3D apps that can run on Microsoft Surface. For example, can we build the app in another platform, like say, the Unity3D game engine, and then integrate it into Surface? Or does the entire app have to be built in Surface? If
so, is there any documentation on how we can bring in 3D models from a program like 3D Studio Max and manipulate them in Surface?
Here is what I mean by 3D app - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdATmq2XCy8&feature=related
Could you please give some pointers on how such an app can be created?
    Thanks.

    Hi Anupam,
For surface, developing a game and porting it as a Windows store app will suffice your requirement.A windows store app can be run on laptops, desktops and also surface running on Windows 8/8.1.Preferrably, try deploying your game as windows 8.1 store app
    unity3d 4.3 supports this.
Keep in mind that you have to use 3D models with mobile diffuse(texture),which consume less memory while loading/progressing of the game.
Avoid using heavy GameObjects like terrain.Instead go for a plane.Terrains are not recommended by unity on mobiles. On a tab,it will work but with consumes more memory.

  • Air apps on Microsoft Surface?

Microsofts challenge to the iPad is due out in mid October, which isnt that far away and we havent yet heard anything about getting Air apps on to it. Does anyone from Adobe want to comment?
It would seem a pretty good match. Microsoft needs quality apps for its new platform and if Air developers could just compile their exisiting iPad apps for Win8 Metro then I think a lot of people would do it (I would).
And technically it should be almost trivial given that Adobe and MS have already worked together on a version of the flash player for win 8 tablets.
so why no news on this?

  • Is there a work-around to enable Digital Photo Pro on the Microsoft Surface Pro ????

Is there a way to use Digital Photo Pro on the Microsoft Surface Pro?
As I understand the problem  DPP is unable detect the screen resolution of the tablet ( the defauilt res of the tablet
    is 1920 x1080) with a minimum of 1024 x768.
It would be usful if one could type in your working screen res into at startup if that's the only problem
___I've looked at other screen drivers from Intell but I realize if I could install thrm I'de lose the touch functionallity
Are there any other ideas out there???
    Thanks  artB

Canon DPP is Canon provided application for desktop/laptop computers and they don't have a version for any tablets as far as I'm aware (not even iOS or Android versions).
But there are other photo editing programs that would work.  I have an iPad.  While Apple has their own photo software (which isn't going to work on a Windows tablet) Adobe has an app called PS Touch.
PS Touch isn't nearly as full featured as Photoshop.  It limits the image resolution (it resizes any images that you import to it so they don't exceed the max resolution) but it does have most of the commonly used adjustments.  So if a person were just trying to get something out, it works in a pinch.
One other catch is that PS Touch can't deal with RAW images... so it's JPEG only.  But I can import JPEGs off the card into the iPad and then edit them -- not as well as I can if they're on a regular computer, but this is what I'ved when I'm away for a weekend with my camera.

  • Photoshop CS6 Brush pressure sensitivity not working on the Microsoft Surface Pro.

I have just purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro in anticipation of running Photoshop on it.  I installed Photoshop and tried to do some sketches.  I created a new file and started sketching.  I Immediately felt like something was wrong.  I checked my brush settings and saw the pressure sensitivity was not available.  Everytine I tried to turn it on it was marked with an exclamation point.
Does anybody know if Adobe is supporting the new pressure sensitive pen from microsoft, or if there is some sort of setting that I am missing?  I have tried sketchbook pro 2011, and that works amazingly well with the pen.  I hope someone can help me along here, because if this tablet can truely run photoshop, it would be a Game Changer.

Just curious.... has any of you tried the shape dynamics in photoshop and turning on pen pressure?
and in illustrator to modify the size to pressure and variation to maximum? (and of course select that brush preset that you just modified and draw with it using SHIFT+B for blob brush or B for regular brush)
I am also interested in purchasing a Surface pro so please report if this helps.
what I recently discovered in other forums is that Sketchbook Pro works flawlessly in desktop mode. Sketchbook Express in the APP mode doesn't support pressure yet.
there is no official confirmation that the surface pro uses a wacom digitizer, however a few artist friends of mine have gone to the microsoft store... brought their own wacom pens (cintiq 15x pen - older models that works with general tabletpcs) and the pro recognized it. which means that it is a wacom digitizer. it wouldn't make sense if a wacom pen works with a different digitizer board like N-trig.
also read in another forum about adobe using wintab and windows 8 wintab drivers are not there yet.
anyway... I'd be glad to know if this works or not
    thanks!

  • Itunes Video Lag on the microsoft surface Pro

    HI,
I recently purchased a Microsoft surface pro and installed itunes on it to watch all of my store bought series, however i noticed that as soon as i started to watch my purchases the HD content especially would stutter, lag and de sync from the audio playing.
i was wondering if anyone had similar problems or if anyone knows of a solution
so far i have tried switching the audio from itunes properties, and it did not work.
    thanks

  • How do I open multiple PDF windows on microsoft Surface?

How do I open multiple windows on microsoft Surface? I'm a grad student and would like to have multiple PDF windows open or availible while I use Microsoft Word. Is this possible?

Other user asked a similar question a couple days ago - except the question was in French and the other app was Microsoft Excel (not Word).
Please see the option (b) for running two apps side by side in this post.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5719712#5719712
It may not be an ideal solution for you.  But this may be the only option you have if your device is running the Windows RT operating system.  You can install Adobe Reader XI (desktop app) if your device is running the Windows 8 operating system.

  • CSD on Microsoft Surface

    Hi all,
Is CSD compatible with the Microsoft Surface running Windows RT? How about Windows 8?
If so, what features are available? (Basic host scanning, advanced endpoint assessment, secure vault, etc).
    Thanks!
    Xavier

The Surface Pro - coming out in a few months, not to be confused with the standard Surface tablet now shipping - is essentially just a regular Intel i5 Ivy Bridge notebook PC running windows 8, in a very small tablet/touchscreen form factor. It's supposed to run existing Windows desktop apps just fine, just like any other Windows 8 PC.
But unless Adobe updates Lightroom specifically for Windows 8 - I would expect it to work exactly like it does on my Windows 7 touchscreen laptop today. Your finger on the touchscreen would simply act as a mouse - albeit a very large, low-resolution mouse. On other words - pretty useless in apps like Lightroom with lots of very small, precise controls. You'd either use the Surface Pro trackpad or plug in a mouse if you wanted to do any serious work.
EDIT:  people have said there's also supposed to be some type of active-digitizer pen support for the Surface Pro, but it's not yet clear. For Lightroom, pen input would be much more useful than touch input.

  • Skype on Microsoft Surface RT

    Hi,
I'm not really sure if this is the right forum for my problem. (If not please move this topic).
I am using Skpye on my Microsoft Surface RT.
Until a few days everything was ok but than my Skype app disappeared. A reinstall from the shop was not successful. So I decided to reset the Windows RT to factory default.
After the reinstallation the Skype app appeared again. But it did not connect.
the only error message i get is: "Oops ... there was a problem We were unable to sign you in"
But I didn't got the chance to type in my Username or password.
How do I get it to work again?
I also tried to update the app but since updates are only available via the shop and the shop does not give me a update I assume I am on the latest version.
    What can I do.
    Thanks and best regards.
    Bob

    Run Windows Update.

  • When will Adobe digital Edition be available for Microsofts Surface (Wondows RT)?

When will Adobe digital Edition be available for Microsofts Surface (Wondows RT)?

Probaly never.  It isn't available on any other tablet OSs.
You need to install 3rd party apps such as Bluefire, Aldiko, Overdrive or similar to read eBooks. (sometimes they have something pre-installed).
    Unfortuately some of these apps are not yet available for Microsoft Surface;
I guess they will be made available when/if Windows RT becomes a mainstream tablet OS.

  • Experiencing very small text using adobe connect on my new Microsoft Surface 3. Any solutions?

Experiencing very small text using adobe connect on my new Microsoft Surface 3. Any solutions?

I've heard of this happening before, "it seems that you may be having problems with display scaling of Microsoft Surface. Display scaling effects the way content and controls appear on the screen.
Have you tried messing with scaling at all?
You can try this options: Upgrade Surface Pro from Windows 8 to Windos 8.1, disable display scalling, or reduce display scaling for windows.
Here is some info I found: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/apps-and-windows-store/app-display-issues

  • Microsoft Surface ans Netprotect plus

Wht can't I down the bt netprotect plu onto my microsoft surface 2?

If it's the standard Surface, running Windows RT, then it won't let you download software from anything but the Windows app store.
Quite frankly, I wouldn't want to run anything as huge and bloated as NetProtect Plus (which is just a re-badged McAfee suite) on anything but a reasonably high-powered computer anyway.  My desktop PC copes fine with it, but my old Asus netbook ground to a halt whenever McAfee started doing anything.

  • Microsoft surface and laser jet 2420

i have a microsoft surface tablet. when i try to install my laser jet 2420, it installs it under "other devices" instead of under printers. is there a way to move it?

    Hi,
Can you see "HP Printer Control" app ? Your printer should be in that group. You can move icon from other area to that group. Please use the following information:

  • Unlocking secure PDFs on the Microsoft surface RT

I recently bought a Windows Surface RT and the adobe application from the market place does not let me unlock secure PDF. I am currently attending the University of Phoenix and all of our text books are Apollo E-Books that are secured by protectedpdf password management. I was wondering if there will be patches for the windows RT platform that will fix this issue? If these patches are expected to occur, in what time frame wold I be looking at?

If you had an Intel-based desktop machine, laptop, or tablet, you could install Adobe Reader XI (desktop app with the traditional Windows UI) and open the DRM-protected PDF documents from University of Phoenix.
    http://www.universityofphoenix.com/ebooks/ppdf.asp
Unfortunately, Adobe Reader XI does not run on Microsoft Surface with Windows RT.  (More Intel-based tablets from Microsoft, Samsung, HP, Dell, etc. running Windows 8 will be released this year.)  Currently, Adobe Reader for mobile devices (iOS, Android, and Windows tablets) cannot open the DRM-protected PDF documents from University of Phoenix using the third-party technology called Vitrium's Protectedpdf due to the lack of full JavaScript support.
