DPS crashes
Have tried installing the latest DPS updates for the authoring tools and the Folio builder for InDesign CS5, (I uninstalled the older versions first) but nothing happened, nothing worked at all, normally would expect to see the tools in the extensions manager window, nothing there and no tools available to use. Have uninstalled everything and reinstalled an older version of the authoring tools and the latest version of the Folio builder. I now have authoring tools which crash the whole thing.
Any ideas?
Yeah, with v31 dev app everything is fine. The only trouble is that it is not yet approved by Apple. They want a "Restore all purchases" button but it only appears after publishing a retail folio, whereas our magazine is free.

Above, my App ID was changed to "com.example" to protected the actual ID.
Nothing much to the code - been in use for over a year:
adobeDPS.initializationComplete.addOnce(function () {
var transaction = adobeDPS.receiptService.availableSubscriptions[productId].purchase();
transaction.completedSignal.addOnce(function (transaction) {
// This does not seem to be reached
}, this);
}, this);
It displays available subscriptions, prompts for sign in, displays confirmation, and success iOS standard messaging. After the purchase was successfully, the app immediately crashes.

Hello,
I've built a v31 app ( iOS ) with Adobe DPS Builder and installed it on the ipad.
This first time i open the app it crashes, working fine the next time i start it.
I've tried to upload this version to itunes, but it was rejected because of this issue.
Is it a known problem? Is it something with my app version?
The last version that was ok was v29. v30 had problems with logins and v31 is crashing on first startup.
I can't build v29 apps anymore..
Thank you,
Diogo NevesDiogo,
We became aware of a potential crash recently and are working on a fix. It may be the same crash you are experiencing. The crash isn't happening all the time, and it will only happen on first launch. Unfortunately, it's not easy to reproduce consistently, so if you uninstall and reinstall the app, then launch you might not see the problem again.
We hope to have a public fix released quickly.
I'm not aware of V30 login problems that would prevent you from using that version. What exact issue were you experiencing?

Single Edition DPS Apps Crashing in iOS 8?
Hi Guys,
I've just been told by some readers that as soon as they have updated to iOS 8, past apps I have released - single editions, not multi-folio for iPad - just crash. They either open and crash as soon as you scroll, or crash straight away.
What is going on? Is this an update that needs to happen on Adobe's end and has yet to occur?
Cheers
ChrisHi Neil,
I think I am having the same problem as the OP. This is the error I got:
----- 2.2 -----
We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, when reviewed on iPad running iOS 8, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
Content does not load. This occurs upon launch.
If I just recreate the app with the "create app" in the folio builder will this correct the problem? Would I need to also change the provisioning profiles or anything or just a straight rebuild will fix this? Are their any updates I need to download first before I rebuild?
If it makes any different it's a single edition app. I know being a CC member would be better. The owner of the app refused to go that route. Dumb, I know.
Any help is appreciated. -

OSX Lion and ID CS5 DPS tools crashing
Hi there,
I'm currently facing InDesign CS5 crashes whenever I click on the "open/folder" icon in the overlay panel or folio builder panel (choosing images for a sequence or importing articles for example). I've tried to update all the components to their latest version including the Folio Builder update of August 4th with no success, ID keeps closing as soon as I click the open icon. Any ideas? Is this a documented issue? I repeat ID CS5 and not 5.5...
Thanks
L.The good news is that they're aware of it. The bad news is that I don't know if it's an Adobe bug or an Apple bug.

DPS Viewer app crashes when entering the browse (thumbnail) mode
Hi!
We recently submitted a v.30 multifolio newsstand app for our magazine and published 2 free folios (v.26 and v.30). The app crashes (almost) every time the user hits the thumbnail view button or the scrubber. Same issues copied to a different account and viewed with another viewer app of the same version work fine. Any thoughts?
Thanks!Yeah, with v31 dev app everything is fine. The only trouble is that it is not yet approved by Apple. They want a "Restore all purchases" button but it only appears after publishing a retail folio, whereas our magazine is free.

Premiere Pro keeps crashing when using overwrite (.) shortcut in Source Monitor
When editing a clip in the source monitor and then using the (.) key to overwrite the clip onto my timeline Premiere Pro keeps crashing. If I select the Timeline window and then press the (.) key it works fine, but if the Source Monitor is highlighted and I press (.) it crashes every time and shows these windows:
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
[/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/mightykilt/shared/
adobe/Mediacore/Backened/Make/Mac/../../Src/
Sequence/LinkContainer.cpp-184]
and then opens this one:
Adobe Premiere Pro
Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires
Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to
save your current project.
It saves my current project as a copy, which is good, but I've now ended up with lots of copies of the same project as it keeps on crashing. In order to work I have to make sure that the Timeline is highlighted before I use the shortcut. It makes for very precarious and tense editing!

I'm using a MacBookPro 15", OS X 10.8.4 and editing footage filmed at 24fps 1920x1080 on my Canon 550D/T2i. All .MOV files.
I purchased my software from iSoftware.co.uk. I'm worried that could be the problem.
Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.
SamA crash with a very similar error message was fixed in the new CC release. The bug report in that case involved creating a multi-cam sequence, so it might not be directly related.
If you have a chance to download the CC trial, we'd be interested to know whether the crash remains in the new version. -
Adobe Content Viewer keeps crashing
Hi everyone.
I'm building my first publication and I'm having some trouble.
I have an article with a infographic of aprox. 5500px in height. It has some logos on it and I did some pop-ups with object state to explain the logos. The pop-ups just contain some text, the logo image and some of them have links. There's also a button to close it.
After 8 pop-ups (I need 12) the iPad can't handle and the Content Viewer crashes. I restarded the iPad, removed the folio and downloaded again, unninstalled the Content Viewer, downloaded again. Still crashing.
The I went back to Indesign. First I just pasted the infographic from Ilustrator to Indesign. Then I exported as a image (PNG and JPEG). Didn't work. Then I cut in several images with 750px in height and 1020px in width. Still nothing.
If there's less than 8 pop-ups, it works. But there's another article with regular size (1024x768) that has a image with 10 pop-ups and it's working fine. And I did in the same way I did with the infographic.
So it's a combination of pop-ups and big images that's making the Content Viewer crash.
My options now are linking the contents of the pop-ups to an article and then linking them back (using navto://) or change the infographic to a regular article and the user can go sliding down from area to area.
Before I do any of these, do you have any ideas?
Thank you in advance.For me it`s the DPS that isn`t utilizing the hardware right. There`s some - or what seems to be - heavy games running on iPad without a problem. When I put some images with less than 600kb in total with some other objects, the viewer crashes. It`s a little frustrating.
Anyway, thanks for your awser. -
InDesign CS6 Text Tool Crashes App
As soon as I try to choose the text tool in InDesign CS6, it completely crashes (will included my entire crash log below)
I actually found this thread before starting mine.
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4798907#4798907
However that did not help me at all. Deleting the preferences is not a solution to my issue (was really hoping it would be that easy).
I am on an up to date Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Macbook Pro Retina.
I immediately checked out my Fonts, and nothing seems out of the ordinary. In fact this Macbook itself is a rather new acquisition, so I have the standards, the Adobe Fonts that come with CS5 & CS6, and exactly 3 fonts I have installed on my own (already tried disabling them in Font Book, still the same issue).
InDesign CS5 works no problems. It is only InDesign CS6. I just recently was able to get the CS6 Suite through work prior to the holidays, so this is the first time I have used InDesign CS6 since installing it.
I actually also manually went through all of my fonts, 1 by 1, and disabled any I did not need. I also Validated Fonts, found 14 issues, either disabled or removed the issues completely, validated them again, and no more issues. So really not sure what else I can do with my Fonts, they are more streamlined than they ever have been in the past.
So any and all ideas are welcome. I prefer to use the CS6 version since it was purchased and should work. TIA for any help offered.
Here is the entire Crash Log.

We're actually using your Lynda tutorial for our training, it's such a great resource thank you.
Here's a thread I was reading which wasn't helpful for myself although I did try some solutions that were relevant to me.
Re: InDesign CS 6 Folio Builder crashing
Solutions tried:
- Re installing InDesign CS6
- Downloaded DPS updates directly from Adobe
- One post suggested deleting my cache file/folders which would result in any folios I've made deleted however this
is the first time I've used the DPS tools in Adobe so I didn't worry.
- I've also deleted/reset my preferences
Is there anything else you can suggest? -
My DPS presentation quit unexpectedly from the Adobe Viewer app on the ipad.
I notified that it's happen only in my article that contents a lot of multi-states objects and buttons in the same pages. In 3 pages, I made about 20 buttons creating 20 pop-up window (multi-states objects) and each state has 2 buttons inside. (one linking to a page in the same article an one other to close the pop-up window.) All the fonctions work but then crash after 4 or 5 times activated. Every pop-up window links to a different page in the article. My presentation has about 60 pages. (each contents a link to come back to one of the 3 pages and 2 others to a page in a different article of the folio -navto:// )
Does my article's page content too much links? Too much buttons?
Does Adobe Viewer application can support that much interactivity in a same article?
Are there a maximum pages for an article?
The format of my article is in PNG, is it better in PDF? Can it be the problem?
I'm looking for a solution, I have tried a lot of things but each time it's crashing again.
Thank you or your help!Hi Neil,
Thank you very much for your answer. Finally I found the problem, and it wasn't about the number of links, overlays or buttons. Good news, the Adobe Viewer can support all of them! Maybe iPads are more performant than we expected!
The problem that caused the inexpectedly quitting was in my overlays. My presentation contents 3 pages as a repertoire of logos that links to a page of description of each of them. With my pop-up windows, I created a mask in transparency that covers all 3 pages by making a rectangle 3times the size of a regular page. Don't know if you understand.. ?! But the point is: it's not possible to create an overlay that interracts on multiple pages on the same time. The overlays had to be inside the workspace, 1024 X 768px in the iPad's case.
Also, I tried to import as PDF instead of PNG, but it created a blur when I arrived to the linking page on the article. PNG is probably better.
Thank you again for your help!!

Application crashes at random intervals
We created and installed a new DPS based application on one of our iPads. The application starts up and loads content in. The application crashes when left open (crash occurs anywhere between 30 seconds of opening and hours later).
The application runs fine on three of our other iPads. That same application does not crash at all on those iPads.
On our application that crashes, we get at least one instance of this error every time the canvas loads (most times it will be multiple versions of this error):
"[Error] ReferenceError: Can't find variable: adobeDPS"
We've tried rebuilding and reinstalling the application on the device that it crashes on and the crashes still continue to occur.
If you need anymore information please feel free to ask, I will be watching this discussion over the next few days.
Thanks,
VicoAs I forgot to include it in the post yesterday, the main crash exception type we are receiving is "EXC_CRASH (SIGSEGV)".

Is it possible to embedded this code into DPS?
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
adobeDPS.initializationComplete.addOnce(
function () {var analytics = adobeDPS.analyticsService;
analytics.variables[analytics.predefined.variables.customVariable1] = “publishing”;
analytics.variables[analytics.predefined.variables.customVariable2] = “app”;
analytics.variables[analytics.predefined.variables.customVariable3] = “oando”;
analytics.variables[analytics.predefined.variables.customVariable4] = “ipad magazine”;
analytics.variables[analytics.predefined.variables.customVariable5] = “tablet”;
</script>
</head>
<body>
<!-- blank -->
</body>
</html>
Been asked to try and embed this into the pages of a DPS document for extra tracking - or so I am told, however it seems to
hang the upload process to DPS, well completely bombs Indesign, when this is placed as a Webcontent overlay.
Is this the correct way to do this?Your advice at least stopped the crashing, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be sending any values. Basically what we are looking for is a static value to be fired into the Custom Variables ideally via the Content Views Event if not then via a Custom Event. Any clues how can we make this happen? I have set all the interactions up on the overlay that seem relevant, is there something else we need to be doing to see the variables in the script?
