DPS not displaying round corner in Edge animation

Hello, I have a somewhat simple edge animation with round buttons made with rounded shapes. The button display other elemts in the animation when clicked.
When imported to DPS and preview in content viewer, all circles are rendered as squares. Any suggestions? Script behaviors work fine, just the shape changes.

Yes it works fine in a browser.
Btw I found the solution...
I changed the round corner setting from % to px and now works fine in DPS, I dunno if that is considered a bug or not

Why won't my adobe edge animations play from the start each time they are loaded on an Adobe DPS layout?

Hi there
I have an adobe DPS document with several pages, and edge animations on each page. I want each animation to play from the start when each page is opened, however, the playback seems to be very inconsistent. Some animations play from the start, others half way through, and some playback incorrectly. I want to also be able to return to each page and have the animations reload, instead of just displaying the final frame of the animation.
I have played around with the delay time which doesnt seem to fix it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Edge animation not displaying in IE9

I have a simple, small edge animation implemented in my muse file and it displays fine in Firefox, but not in IE9. Any ideas?

Can we define terms so we know we're talking about the same thing? When you say "capture or insert animation" I'm a little confused about several parts of that description. Is your animation a SWF file (ShockWave Flash)? Or is it perhaps a FLV (FLash Video)? Or might it be an inserted AVI file (Windows audio-video) such as you might take from a video camera?
So I guess, first, my confusion has to do with the definition of the "animation" file, since in the strictest terms, any of those might qualify as animation, but in fact, each might be treated differently.
I am also somewhat confused by your use of the word "capture". How do you capture the animation. Are you referring to a full-motion slide within the project? Or are you using some other program to "capture" something that is animated in nature?

DPS and Edge: Video not playing, Fonts not displayed

I am struggeling with using edge exports for my DPS magazine. The compositions work just perfect in the browser but when imported in DPS:
- Embedded fonts are not displayed
- Video (used as Background) won't play

Interactive elements always will come to the top no matter what layer they are on. Although you can layer multiple interactive elements. The way around this is to make things like text and images MSO (Multi State Objects) and then layer them. Just set the MSO to cycle once and stop at last image and turn off transition so basically you just have the image or text doing one cycle but you don't see it happen. Then they can live on top of things like video and any interactive element.
To create the interactive video I would make each video an MSO with a blank box the same size as the video.
So take the first video and make a blank box the same size. Group them into a MSO. This gives the video an off state basically.
Do that for each and stack the MSO videos. Be sure to add a button to close each MSO video. (Go to state 1, the blank box or off state.) You can have a Go To State button in your MSO for the off state.

Typekit font not displaying in iPad DPS app (created by Indesign) in Web Content (Edge Animate)

I think I have tried every permutation to make this work, but I am probably missing something.
I am creating a single DPS iPad app with InDesign, and I am using a Typekit font throughout. So far so good.
I have created an Edge Animate project using the same Typekit font. In preview mode, it is fine as well.
However, when I place the Edge Animate project into a frame in InDesign and use the Web Content Folio Overlay (regardless of whether I use the .oam file or link directly .html output published by Animate), the Typekit font will not show up in the Edge Animate portion of the DPS app and will instead use a fallback font.
Can anyone suggest a way to make Typekit fonts in Edge Animate work when embedded in a DPS app? (For what it's worth, I have the same problem when embedding html output from Tumult Hype, so it seems unlikely that this is an issue with Edge Animate at all and probably has more to do with something in the way the DPS app is dealing with embedded html content.)

Believe me, I understand the pain. Unfortunately there's only so much we can do at Adobe as the EULAs provided by the foundries for their respective fonts are very explicit in where you can and can not use them.
For example, packaging an InDeisgn file and sending it off for pre-press with the fonts included in the package is in direct violation of most font EULAs. In a studio environment, you're only allowed to have a font installed on n number of computers and need to have multiple licenses to accomidate >n number of seats. When creating a PDF, fonts explicitly have to be subsetted before embedding into the PDF.
That's just to paint a picture of the fragile state of using fonts in print, usage in digital mediums is just another bee in your bonnet when it comes to considering when you can and cannot use a font.
Services like Typekit Desktop are trying to make this easier by removing a lot of those pain and condierations for you, by blanketing all these fonts under a single license you're free to use for print and the web. There's still some gotchyas, but we're aiming to greatly reduce how much you have to think about it where we can.
So yes there's a bit of education when it comes to mixing embedded HTML content/fonts with DPS, but at least there's options

Edge animation-images are not displayed on my dreamweaver-site

Hello, could someone please help me?
My animation, which is inserted into a Dreamweaver-website, shows no pictures - only text elements when you open the page in the browser. In the live view and preview in the browser the images are displayed but on the Website they are not display. I have already set the file permissions to 777 - but it did not help.
When i open the Animation without my Dreamweaver-site - only the Animation in the browser the Images are displayed correctly.

DPS and simple Edge animation - help

Hi-
I am having problems getting a very simple edge animation to work in my adobe digital publishing folio.
I have several kinds of other advanced web overlays using css3 transformations, other using jquery that work perfectly.
I thought I would save some time and try using edge for one simple animation, but nothing shows in the content overlay desktop preview or the ipad previewer. Or sometimes it all just spins and spins the desktop previewer never launches, and I have to force quit out of InDesign and restart my computer.
I have tried uploading the whole file folder as HTMLResources.zip as well as just linking to the index.html file.
My InDesign DPS is the most recent version CS 5.5 and Edge is the most recent preview.
I have also tried these tips - that were posed in a previous thread:
The first tip is to rename the InDesign layer after placing the animation.
In the Layers panel locate the sub-layer that represents the placed HTML. It may be named <rectangle>. You can locate it more easily if the animation is selected. When an object is selected the square to the right of the object will display in color.
Rename the sub-layer in such a way that removes the angle brackets. (Anything meaningful, just no brackets.) There’s some evidence that the angle brackets are causing issues when the content goes to DPS.
The next tip is around settings for making the animation play when you display the page. Here are the settings.
Auto-play = ON
Delay = 0.125
Can anyone see something that I may be doing wrong? Is Edge compatible with DPS?

It seems to me that the culprit lies in the generic name of the object <rectangle>, not necessarily in the Edge animation.
I had an issue with a simple button object that went away after renaming <rectangle> (the contents of the button was a simple rectangle filled with a RGB color) to something else.
The issue leads to a none working button in the Desktop Content Viewer to preview the folio or the article.

I'm using an edge animation on the Samsung Galaxy and it won't allow me to swipe over to go to the next page. Does anyone have a solution to this, or can this not be done? Please advise.

Another user had the same problem and came up with this workaround:
With regards to using it in DPS, it's not an ideal solution but I imported it as a web overlay rather than an html article and made it smaller than full page so there is a border around the edge on which the user can swipe to turn the page and tap to see menu options.

Why won't my Edge animation play in DPS?

I've created a very simple animation of svg elements fading from 0-100% opacity (no code) in Adobe Edge. When I import it into folio (set for for iPad) the animation would not play. When I preview it on desktop, I would only see the poster image and then quickly fade to white. From what I've read in one of the other forums, I have the Edge animation set up for retina (2048x1536), and then in InDesign: 1024, in folio: 2048; however, still no luck. I published the animation for Animate Deployment Package (oam), really can't think of anything else that might have gone wrong...

Thank you so much for for your help, I was able to download the zip file. As it turns out I wasn't using the latest edge animate and indesign. After updating everything, as well as downloading the DPS destop tool kit http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5571 I tried to open the file you sent me. I got the error message: An error has occured while generating article preview. Could not find the adobe content viewer. So I tried to download the content viewer again but still, same message. I really can't figure out why...

Why doesn't Edge animation display in IE on PCs?

In this Muse project (very simple) the Edge animation doesn't display in IE on PCs. Its OK on Macs (Safari and FireFox) and on iPhone.

I am trying to place an interactive info graphic — created in EDGE animate — on a page of an article in DPS. I would like the reader to be able to click on the animation graphic and have it launch full screen and then be interactive — for the reader to be able to move thru the various screens, charts and graphs. I've tried placing it as an imbedded HTML document, as an animation, etc. but I'm not having any luck. Is this possible to do and if so, how? I am a DPS Pro user, creating my articles/folios in InDesignCC on a Mac running OSX 10.9.2. I have had success placing videos, audio, slide shows, scrolling frames, etc. just not the EDGE animation. BTW the file I'm placing has an .oam extention. The interactivity works great in EDGE. Any ideas? THX

AFAIK, that’s not possible. When you place an OAM file you are creating a web content overlay and the frame is going to act as a view port.
You could I suppose create an MSO and then use a full screen size Edge file that would launch as the second state when you tap a button.

Edge animation in DPS: Always rasterized?

I have been making my first very simple animation with typography in Adobe Edge Previev CS 6.1. Everything OK but... I start with illustrator files with SVG. When placed in InDesign (as *.oam file), uploaded (PDF format) with DPS and shown in Adobe Conten Viewer, it is rasterized.
I know that Overlays are in general rasterized but I had the (seemingly wrong?) idea that Edge animations were treated in a different way and that they were not always rasterized.
So, the question is: Is there anyway I could place an animation in DPS so that is not rasterized. I mean: Placed PDFs retain in DPS their vector quailities and they look gorgeous at any size. Is that not possible yet with animations? (Will it ever be in a near future?).

Smooth Edge Animations in DPS.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to smooth out the playing of Edge animations in DPS? My Edge animations play smooth as butter in any browser but stutter a little in DPS on the iPad-3. I know many have suggested not having such complex animations but that just limits the creativity and that's not what we are looking for.
Is there anything I can change in Edge to smooth the animation out?
I have tried playing with the Preloader settings, changing from "Immediate" (default) to "Polite" with no visible difference.
I have read that you can set off stage elements to "Off" from "Always On" but I don't get that one completely because eventually they all make there way on stage and if they are set to "Off" they don't show up when moved on stage.
I don't believe there is anything more than setting Edge animations to delay by 0.125 seconds in Indesign that affect Edge animations.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Macquarie Group have a nice DPS app with simple animations on most articles giving the overall folio a nice lift. I'm wondering if anyone wants to say how these animations were done OR how best to do them? Are they best done as Edge Animations, Photoshop Animations or buttons with animated gifs??

Why are animated gifs not displaying animations in the preview?
My coworkers and I are not seeing a animation in the preview pane in Adobe Bridge CS6 even when clicking the play button in the preview window. However, we do see a graphic of the first frame and one person sees 1 frame when clicking play and one other frame and then the animation stops, however, that is not the complete animation.
I'm using Windows 7 32 bit
My coworkers are using a mac.
One coworker has apple OS Mountain Lion with a Intel Quad-Core Xeon – 64 bit system.
Is this fixable or in the works as a patch? Otherwise we have to open these docs in a browser in order to view them properly.

I've just come to the realization that some animated gifs do play fine and others do not. A coworker of mine suggests that if it's an animation made via Adobe Photoshop, it'll work in bridge but will not if it's made using something else.
