DPS pricing/per download

Hi there, we are going to publish a weekly digital magazine for Apple/Android devices. We expect around 8-10.000 downloads of our app. But we are a little confused about the pricing per download. Do we pay every time somebody downloads the app or every time someone downloads one of our weekly issues?

Downloads of the app are irrelevant, only the folio downloads are
counted by Adobe.

wwhat's the cost for dps? I thought there was just a monthly fee per month you pay eg 500$. what is this thinv about paying depended on how small or big your company is, I don't think that should be the case as it's the same service each customer whether your magazine have a subscription base of a 100000 or 1000, should it?

What, if any, cost is there per download from Adobe in DPS Professional Edition?
Another thing: As a Professional Edition subscriber can I still create Single edition apps?
I ask this here because it is very difficult to get this info on your site.

Oddly, DPS Pro accounts are still on sale - speak to your Adobe representative in your region. They will be able to tell you how much, and also how many downloads you get with the account. And additionally the cost of fulfilment bundles of 1,000 etc.
If DPS Pro accounts aren't on sale in your region, you need to request a quote from your Adobe rep in your region, with specific app details, platforms, how many apps, how many downloads would you expect, and so on.

I just wanted to see if anyone could clarify some things for me on the DPS pricing, I'm set to launch my 1 time digital magazine so in doing this I must pay the $495 platform fee plus choose which .folio download option I want, my question is what happens if I purchase the 10,000 folio option but by magazine is only downloaded 5,000 times, what happens to the exta .folios? Thanks.

No problem! It's nice to have unlimited downloads without fees (Except of course the 30% cut that Apple takes...)
As for the time it takes for Apple to approve does vary a little bit. Usually it takes 6-7 days (I've never had an app approved less than 6 days), yet sometimes it can take 12-14 days depending on the amount of apps they are reviewing, the content you supply for the app, etc. There are at least 50 different factors that could go into their decision making and amount of time spent on reviewing your app. Keep in mind that if your app gets rejected, it can take longer as you then have to fix the "mistakes" and resubmit. Sometimes I've had that happen and I've had it take another 6-7 days before it would finally get approved. I had one multi-issue viewer app that took 5 weeks before it was finally approved.
I don't mean to scare you -- I just want to make you prepared for the monster called Apple and how their dictatorial style of app regulation can affect your app release date significantly!

DPS Pricing: Am I screwing anything up?

Hey all. I hate to find myself in short-term bugaboos here, but I'm trying to dissect Adobe's pricing model and make sure I communicate it correctly, lest my small agency venture into the territory of "unforseen hard costs".
We are looking to use the DPS platform to build an iPad based cookbook for a client. Pretty cut and dry. No subscriptions, gating, e-commerce or anything that might be construed as non-standard.
As I understand it, this is a single-use folio. Because we have a paid team subscription through the Creative Cloud, we will not incur any additional costs from Adobe to create our cookbook single-use folio in InDesign and publish it as an app.
We will incur a $99/year fee from Apple to register as a developer. Once we've undergone the lengthy approval process, we will then be able to have our published cookbook app distributed through the Apple App store. Because this is a single-use folio (i.e., there are no instances of multiple issues a la a Conde Nast magazine). If 100,000 people download this app, no additional fees are incurred.
Am I missing anything here? It seems like it's pretty simple - I'm just concerned about unanticipated surprises. Do I understand this pricing model correctly?

You're right that you can submit lots of apps but incorrect about keeping the app in the App Store after you cancel your iOS dev subscription.

If your iOS Developer Program membership expires, your apps will no longer be available on the App Store and you will not be able to submit new apps or updates. You will lose access to pre-release software, the Apple Developer Forums, the Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles, and Technical Support Incidents. However, you will still have access to iTunes Connect and free development resources.

AWS pricing per month

I'm not a technical guy and to be honest I'm struggling with some of the terminology on the pricing - can anyone help? (Shiven, thanks for your recent help on the FMS licence costing). Basically our service allows users to record video content live to a server and also to watch recorded content form the server. We currently have a handful of users and the video at this stage is very small files (i.e. no more than 20MB per upload/download). As you can tell, we're at the early days of start up and are trying to figure out the cost of switching to AWS now and how costs would scale as we develop. I wouldn't hold you to a price but would you be able to give me a rough estimate of what I should expect to pay per month based on say 100 people using the site across a month?

Hi Elvin,
I think I understand your situation. AWS costing can vary depending upon the various AWS tools you use to assist your solution. External volumes, Elastic IPs to mention a few.
As per my understanding, you are looking for a basic VOD solution with not much load. So you can probably give the 'Large' instance a try and see what it costs you over a period of days.
The costing model is on a per hour basis. So you can do your calculations accordingly.
Once you decide to scale up, you will need the Larger instances or probably even a combination of them to get going. But I suggest you at least get a hands on with the least costly instance first and then decide.
Let me know if you have any other concerns.

Pricing Procedure Download Problem

Through initial load i am trying to download the pricing procedure from ECC6 to CRM 5.
When i check the download monitor the status is "Green"
When i check the CRM table "PRCC_COND_PP" the pricing procedure which i have download from ECC6 to CRM 5 it is there.
When i check in the SPRO->CRM->BF->PRICING->DEFINE SETTINGS FOR PRICING->CREATE PRICING PROCEDURE
Here i did not find the download pricing procedure.
I even tried repeating the download and by creating individual request also but i did not get the pricing procedure in the "PRC_PRICPROC_CRM"
Can anybody help me out?

Are you downloading the standard object DNL_CUST_CNDALL or you have created your own Z/Y object ?
If you are using the standard object you should be getting all those entries in CRM. Check whether you have maintained any filter for this object ?

Pricing record download

Hi all,
Pricing as I know is in the form of Condition records in R/3. These condition records are created in R/3 and downloaded to CRM.
My question is when an existing condition record is modified or a new condition record is added will the data automatically get downloaded to CRM from R/3?
or
Should the data be downloaded by downloading the condition adapter object again.
It would be great, if you could share this information.

delta download event is maintained by the crm system atomaticly after successful finish of the initial download.
should come within minutes of the save to the crm system...
can see thew events also in r3ac4

DPS App Builder Download Issue

I guess I hijacked another thread, but I should have posted this separately since the issues are different. Here is my problem.
I am a CCloud subscriber.
In my case, I have do not have any sign-in errors with the Builder...The App building process "works" for a Single Edition App, but then on the final screen nothing is listed under "Downloads." Under App Details it says : Activate App, App Type: Built-in Single Edition App. When you click Activate it gives this message: Activate your Single Edition app by purchasing a serial number from the Adobe Store.
What's going on?
Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, here's what I will suggest.
Drag and drop DPS app builder to trash
Empty your trash
Reboot your machine
Launch InDesign and go to the "help" menu and check for updates.
Make sure Indesign is on the latest update
Re-download the latest version here https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/SignIn.html
Login to your folio builder panel with your credentials
Click and highlight your folio and go up to the flyout menu and click "create app"
Let me know the new result

Hi,
if the DPS App Builder is not installed and you if you try to download it in the Digitalpublishing Account within Firefox, the download does not start. It works for Safari and Chrome. Please add the link again to download it wether the DPS App Builder is installed or not.

Please note, that the international pricing chart, only consist of the Professional Edition, and has 10.000 downloads as minimum, instead of 5.000 (annual) downloads, as in the link below?

Scale pricing Per Each quantity

I have a scenario that I am trying to implement in pricing and I am not sure if scale pricing will work or not. Here is the scenario.
A Customer needs to be charged based on the weight of the material entered PER EACH QUANTITY. The pricing should be as follows
From 0 to 5 pounds --> 50$
From 5.1 to 10 pounds --> 100$
From 10.1 to 20 pounds --> 150$ and
From 20.1 to 50 pounds --> 200$
A material X weighs 7 pounds in the material master. If 3 quantity is entered at the line item for the material X, the total weight is 21 pounds in the sales order. Now the customer should NOT be charged 200$ based on the total weight of the quantity but should be charge as
100$(for 7 pounds for 1st quantity) +
100$ (for 7 pounds for the 2nd quantity) +
100$ (for 7 pounds for the 3rd quantity) = 300$ Total.
The standard scales configuration takes the total weight of the 3 quantity entered for material X (777=21 pounds) and then applies the scale pricing and calculates 200$ instead of 300$.
Any ideas?

Thank for the reply. the graduated scale config was over calculating the value and did not work for this requirement.
However I was able to resolve the issue by creating a new scale base formula. For anyone who is interested below is the solution.
Pricing condition has the following setting
Condition class = A (Discount or surcharge).
Calculation type = C (quantity).
Do Not use fixed amount This is to allow the system to multiply the quantity with the amount calculated based on the scale condition record.
Scale basis = (weight - net or gross what ever is needed per the requirement)
Code for the formula
data lv_ntgew like mara-ntgew.
select ntgew from mara
into lv_ntgew
where matnr = komp-matnr.
endselect.
xkwert = lv_ntgew.
The system calculates the scale base from the material master and then the amount from the condition record is multiplied by the quantity to give the condition value.
