DPS - what about IAP (In App Purchase)?

Is there any way, or will there be in the near future - to produce an app using DPS - but on the In App Purchse model? i.e. - a free (LITE) version then given the user a chance to upgrade to the full and complete version?

Depends on what kind of purchase it was. If it was non-replenisable, such as access to bonus features or levels, then you should be able to "purchase" it again without charge. Otherwise you should use the report a problem links in your account history.

  • What is an in-app purchase?

what is an "in-App" purchase? I am noticing alot of charges on my account for these and my daughter says she is not downloading them..

For details about In-App Purchases, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4009
Your daughter may not realize that she's making the purchases, or she may just not be telling the truth. In any case, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on the iOS device your daughter. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case your daughter gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately. • I have to reinstall WIN 7 Pro on my PC, what about the CC app's? Can I reinstall them later again?

I have to reinstall WIN 7 Pro on my PC, what about the CC app's? Can I reinstall them later again?

The CC has been activated twice on 26th April &28th April 2014. You need to deactivate it first from any of the CC installed .
    (Activation & Deactivation Help)
The other option is to deactivate it while installing for the third time. this will deactivate CC from both the earlier installed machines(I understand, it is being reinstalled on one of machine which had CC).
To reactivate it on the one of the previous machine, you need to launch any product, there shall be a prompt
, in that prompt there will be an option to " license the software", please click on that & sign in.
It will reactivate the CC on the first machine.

  • Switching DPS publication account with In-App Purchases

We have this scenario and wanted to know the Adobe recommendations.
One customer has a multfolio app on the App Store with in-app purchases enabled. The issues had been selling for quite some months. For some reason, he needs to change the DPS publication account he uses to publish the folios.  If he copy the current folios to the new account and publish them with the same Product ID and updates the secret shared key, without touching anything else  within the In-App Purchases in iTunes Connect, will that Restore the purchases when final users updates the app and want to download their already purchased items?
I appreciate yout thoughts about this issue
    Leo

There are two different Android platforms--Amazon and Google. DPS apps support in-app purchases for individual folios in both platforms, but DPS apps support subscriptions only on Amazon. Support for Google Play subscriptions should be available later this year if all goes according to plan.
For details, see the publishing guide:

  • HT4009 What if an In-App purchase never downloaded to begin with?

I made an In-App purchase a few days ago and have been trying to contact the company to at least Talk to a representative and figure out what went wrong, but they have been in general, unhelpful, and haven't responded. The only email I've recieved simply confirmed that I sent in an email. Any ideas on what I should do?

  • InDesign DPS and iTunes Connect: In-App Purchase won't appear

    Greetings Adobeans,
first of all: I'm not a native speaker, so please forgive me my maybe erronenous english.
To my question / problem: The company I'm employed publishes a multi-folio-tourguide-app. It is produced with InDesign DPS and the App Builder, published via Folio Producer and should now be sold at iTunes to the Apple iPad, so the publishing process leads inevitable to iTunes Connect. We already launched the multi-folio-app itself along with a free folio as a free, non-consumable in-app purchase. The app is now online, downloadable and our first folio works fine - even it stays "Waiting for Upload" ... I think, the multi-folio-app tells iTunes Connect to get the data out of the Folio Producer, but I don't know the exact details of how this works.
The next step was to publish a second, priced in-app purchase.
Our steps were (they might be useful for a solution, I guess):
    - publishing the folio in the Folio Producer (Status: Public - Trade),
    - creating a non-consumable in-app purchase at iTunes Connect, using the same Product-ID as the folio in the Folio Producer,
    - and uploading a update for the entire app, because Apple and Adobe say so.
But the folio never appeared in the app. It the iTunes Connect-menu it just stays "Waiting for Upload", like our first, but it won't appear at all.
My wisdom as a graphic designer has come to it's end a long time ago, Apple told us, that they don't look at these in-app purchases at all and we should ask Adobe for help ... and well, Adobe Help Services sent me to here.
So, I would be deeply grateful for any help or enlightement.
    Greetings from Germany,
    Der Bäcker Scholz

If your non-consumable in-app purchase in iTunes Connect is still "Waiting for Upload," it means it's not approved yet. You need to provide the screenshot and complete the in-app purchase submission to Apple. They should approved rather quickly. After a while (sometimes as long as 24 hours), your published folio will appear in your app.
In the future, submit your in-app purchases to Apple well in advance of publishing the folio. That way, you can publish the folio as Public and Retail, and it will appear in your app right away.

  • InDesign DPS und iTunes Connect: In-App Purchase will nicht funktionieren

    Hallo liebe Adobenten,

  • Want to buy a new iPod touch, what about the bought apps?

I am thinking about changing my iPod touch first generation to a new one.
Can I transfer all my apps to the new item or do I have to buy them again?
    Who has experience here?

Dumped coffee on my 2nd gen Touch. Bought a 3rd gen. Plugged it in. iTunes asked me if I wanted to reload it with everything from my old Touch and it did.
Any Touch you sync to the account can be loaded with the purchased apps as well. I can load my 1st gen with the same apps (as long as they work on the 1st gen).
    Best of luck.

  • Ipad 1 what about old map app

I understand that I have to stay with ios 5.1.1 and therefore will not get the new apple apps but I did not get the affect for my current map and youtube app.
will the maps and traffic information not maintained anymore? will content are getting old, and new youtube videos are missing? sorry I didn't get it.

Very disappointed that my device went from that point to essentially useless in 3 years. I've read the "all tech ends up like this" threads & find those responses insulting. I invested in a product & a company that had a stellar reputation & I'd like to believe there's more to this situation than just tough luck buddy.
Your complaint is not with Apple or the device, your complaint is with the application developers. The applications that you generally use on a device are not developed by, nor are they maintained by Apple. They are developed by and maintained by 3rd party developers and other major software companies. It is their decision what versions of iOS they decide to support as they update their devices. In attempts to save money, many of them discontinue support for older iOS versions, and/or do not have their current versions support older iOS.
Hop on to one of their support forums and ask them why they no longer provide an application that supports the iOS that your iPad runs. See what kind of answer they provide.

i've just done this. you just need to make sure you backup your old ipod touch first, then when you plug in your new ipod touch, rather than setting it up as new, restore it to the backup. as previously pointed out, as long as everything is in your itunes library on your computer it will just replace it all and your new ipod will look just like the old one.

  • Security can protect the client, what about protecting the app from client?

This is not about code obfuscation or preventing decompilation.
I'm actually interested in trying to build an extensible application without a managed full-time server (the clients may go mobile and become disconnected) that can protect itself from not necessarily a malicious user, but more like an incompetent one.
As I looked into using Eclipse RCP, I realised that this is going to be too fragile (delete a single file and it's all going to fail) or even worse, an unapproved plugin could be installed.
As a client, I can require that jars be signed and everything, but how as an application can I require that the client VM is running secure?
Short of Sun's "Sun Secure Global Desktop" product, does anyone see any obvious solutions?
    Thanks in advance.

300+ users that, honestly, can break a bowling ball in 500 ways. This is a perfect reason to use a web app, until you find out that we've been asked to provide offline capability.
Most frameworks/environments (hibernate/cayenne, RCP, JPF) all have configuration files that can be messed up by well meaning users and support staff. In a way, I'd love to have that info available from a web server, but we're back to offline support.
A possible solution is a local (in office) server to manage the apps for local clients, I'd just like to make sure we've thought about everything before we commit resources and staff. To properly support offline, we're probably going to need this anyway.
I'm just wondering if anyone's managed to begin to address any of these kinds of issues.

  • I have an issue about my recent app purchase

I recently purchased an app which was limited-time-free (one-day-free) when I downloaded it. The issue is that I was charged a few days later. I reported this to itune customer service and got a refund (so simply this part is done). I also asked them to keep the app for me since I got it for limited-time-free.
Now the problem is that I can find this app using "Check for Available Downloads" in iTunes. However, I cannot find it or it does not show in my App Store -> Purchased, which is weird. Is there anyway to move this app to my purchased list? Thanks.

You'll need to talk to Apple again.

  • Account disabled for security reasons - what about the music I purchased ?

Hello to you all Apple/Mac lovers ,
I have a problem : my iTunes/Apple ID was disabled for "security reasons". That I suppose I can understand - although I can't figure out what danger I represent for Apple and iTunes.
The problem though is that I purchased some music on the iTunes Store and now I need to re-enter my account ID and password to listen to it - but since the account was deleted the iTunes Store accept or recognize the ID/password combination and it tells me why : "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons.". This is how I first learned my account had been disabled.
How can I listen to my music now ? Thanks in advance for your advice !
    Charles

Yes I got it to work your link was the right one. Here's how it works : the security reason was that I or someone else tried to use my account and entered a wrong password 5 times or 10 times in a row. That's why my account was blocked. So all I - or anyone - has to do is to ask for a new password using Apple's password recovery tool, iForgot. There was on link on that page you sent me, or on one of the help and FAQ pages it linked to, so that's how I got there and that's how I did it. Thanks a lot !!

  • So I've bought a new pc and have HomeShared all my music/apps from the old to the new iTunes.  When I plug my phone into the new computer, what will happen?  I just want to be sure my contacts/calenders will be the same.  What about the music/apps?

I have no problem resorting the apps and losing the playlists from the other iTunes.  I just want to be sure nothing will be lost.

I would suggest backing up your iphone before doing anything. You can do that by right-clicking on the name of your iphone from the source list on the left side of itunes.
    I hope this helps!
