Dr4-a problem: locks up computer! HELP!
I have a dr4-a dvd burner, and it is giving me HUGE problems!
Very often when I insert a cdrom, the coputer will lock up ,and I am forced to press reset. The front power button does not work. This happens with both autoboot cdroms (like the nero cd that came with it) nd my own cds (for example, maxmax colorful).
Here is my setup:
p4 2.4c 800 mhz fsb
1 gig ram
asus p4p800 deluxe motherboard
wb 80 gig hd
msi dr4-a dvd (GRR!!)
a cheap 56k softmodem
The dvd is hooked up as secondary master. No hd is hooked up as secondary slave. Right now, an old cdrom is hooked up.
I installed the latest 2.3 firmware.
I completely reinstalled windows xp with all (or 99%) of the patches.
Also, this is my replacement drive. The originanal gave me the same problems. Now the store is saying that my computer is the problem.

WebCam Live Locking Up Computer--HELP!!!
HEPL ME PLEASE!!! I purchased the new WedCam Live, and it has appeared to have wrecked my Laptop. After initially loading the soft ware, it was working file. After turning off and rebooting my computer, the computer appears to be running some unknown program. I am unable to log onto internet explorer, I am unable to open "my computer" to delete all the WebCam Live software, absolutly nothing is able to be done. I do't want to lose all my valuable information on my computer (documents, pictures, ect). I have attempted to reload the sofeware but still nothing happens. CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!:womansad:
Did you try to boot up in safe mode and delete the software there?

Itunes is locking my computer up...Help
When I open iTunes the cursor instantly goes to the rainbow ball. Outside of iTunes the cursor is normal but if it try to force quit iTunes or click anything else it locks my computer up completely. I have tried waiting it out eventually my monitor goes to a blue screen. I NEED HELP. I cannot listen to music and i am afraid to plug in my iPhone or iPod.
Log in as new user and start itunes. If you're not having problems doing this in your new account, check your other software in your normal account for conflicts with itunes.
If you can't open itunes using your new account, remove itunes and reinstall a new copy: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224

my iphone 4 doesnt show up in itunes. it is also locked on the 'connect to itunes screen' when unplugged from the computer. help me!
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I cannot open iCal because of a problem. Can anybody help me? The computer will not allow it to open and sends a message to apple each time. The icon has gone from the dock, but ical works on my iPad and I am afraid to sync it with my computer in case it wipes everything .
I have the exact same problem. I have not changed anything. This is probably a bug or something that has gone bad with Mac OS X (10.7.2). I have not found any solution for this on the web.

My ipod touch is locked in expanded mode. I can not get to the controls. It happens everytime I do an itunes update. I have tried a soft and a hard reset which fixes the problem but then during syncing the screen expands again and locks up. Help.

Since uninstalling / reinstalling iTunes I am not able to sync iPhotos with my Apple TV with the following warning message stating that this is due to a 'problem on your computer. The disk could not be read from or written to'. Please help!

To tell the truth I forgot to mention that I already did what you said, even more I tried all "reset" options including:
Reset all settings
Erase All content and settings
Reset Network settings
Etc

I downloaded OS X Lion on my iMac and I'm having problems with my computer waking up after hibernating. I can get to the login screen but my mouse will be frozen. The only fix's is a hard reboot. Any help would be great!
Try resetting the SMC and the PRAM.

Since I downloading the new FireFox, it crashes every hour or so, then will keep crashing when I try restart it. Only restarting my computer helps, but then it will crash again. 90% of the time, when sending crash report(s), a mesage that there was a problem sending it appears. Please fix the problem and/or tell me what I can do.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPod.
Take special note of the article about using recovery mode. Many times, that is the only way to bypass the pass code and restore the device.
