Drafts in my trash for every email message I create?

Why do I have dozens of save drafts in my trash for every email message I create?
If is ridiculous! If I take ten minutes working on an email I have more than a dozens drafts in trash showing me the stages of the message being composed. My trash is cluttered with partial drafts. This is new behavior that started 11/11/13.

Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box markedAllow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
{ sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use  another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
 ▹ Restart
from the menu bar.

  • Two Alerts for every email message. Gmail?

for only the past few months, my 3GS iphone began alerting me twice for every e-mail message received. I think it may be tied to using gmail, specifically.
It appears that when gmail gets a message, the phone will make it's new alert sound and a new number badge will appear over the mail icon.
When I open up the app, there will be no new messages in the inbox. Upon opening the inbox, the mail app will then initiate checking for mail on the server, and will download the files. When they are downloaded to the inbox, then the iphone will alert me a second time.
Of course this sometimes happens without initiating a check with the mail app by opening it -- when it's fetch schedule completes and finds something new and downloads it to the inbox on its own, it will also ring a second alert.
Does anyone know how to stop this from happening. I don't remember making any changes to the account info when this mysteriously began.

I had the same issue as well. It is just the way gmail works with the mail app on the iPhone. What I did was set up Google Sync through exchange and now have my gmail pushed along with contacts and calendar. Then I turned off the original gmail account I set up on the iPhone. Now when I get a new mail, there is only one alert and when you go into the mailbox the email has already been downloaded and is waiting to be read.

  • I upgraded the software on my iphone 4 and now it's downloading every email message from all my accounts (all previously read). 200 at a time. Manual delete is a problem since there are 3500. Suggestions?

Wow, just posting and it seems that there is a solution that is working for me...
What I've did is I turned off iTunes Match on my iPhone, then turned in on again. Now in my iTunes library on my mac I can get the duplicates to be matched or uploaded to iCloud with a right-click, add to iCloud. iTunes Match starts to check the songs and everything is done correctly. Pretty nice!

  • Setting Importance Level for a email message using javax.mail.* API

Setting Importance Level for a email message using javax.mail.* API
From what I understand we can set Flag on Email Message. How can we set Importance Leve: High/Low for an email message?
    Thanks
    Purvi

Most of the message Flags work only for IMAP mailboxes. POP3 supports only the DELETED flag. It must be understood that Javamail is a framework which provides all the features available in a standard mailing system. But whether or not a particular feature works is a functionality of the particular implementation being used.
Thus for example POP3 cannot differentiate read from unread messages in a mailbox though Javamail provides that feature.

I had absolutely no problems before with Snow Loepard.
I have reindexed mail and my startup drive. I have followed discussions regarding this matter and tried everything - a waste of time.
This is VERY serious for me - I have many thousands of messages that I archive and need to reference for work and clients, and now I cannot find them.

I found out that I needed a $100 mini displayport to dual-link dvi adapter to make my $30" cinema display work with my macbook pro

When I found out that solved the problem, I took it back because that was too expensive for a stupid adapter, and it still didn't work perfectly.

  • OS X asking for admin login for every email sent in Apple Mail

I am having an issue where I am getting the administrator prompt for every email I send through Apple Mail (Yosemite 10.10.2). Not to be confused with the email account specific password issues that are common... Here is the prompt:
I get this prompt with every email I attempt to send. I am assuming that this is a Keychain issue, but I ran Keychain First Aid which didn't find any issues and also Reset my Default Keychain and that hasn't cured the issue. The only other thing I am wondering is if it might have something to do with an old install of Server that was on this machine from Mavericks.
    Any ideas?

Turns out this was related to a preference I hadn't seen before that was on after upgrading to Yosemite. Each email was set to send with a digital signature and as soon as I turned that off, the prompt went away.
Follow up question: was that the expected behavior for that setting? Should it have been prompting me for each email sent if I did indeed want to sign each email?

  • How often does my Curve 9300 check for new email messages?

    Hello everyone,
I hope that you are all well.
I use a Curve 9300 (3G) and assumed that it checked for and retrieved new emails all of the time. However, it seems that it only retreives new messages from my email account every so often. Could someone please let me know how often it checks for new emails?
Also, when I run a Diagnostic Test in the Mobile Network Options menu the result says NO when it tests to see if it is connected to my email account. When I ran tests a while ago the result was YES. Could someone please let me know if this is anything to worry about?
    Many thanks.

First, you have a misunderstanding that the handheld device "checks" for messages. They don't.
RIM's technology on which the company and popularity was built is that RIM servers go out to your email server and checks for new mail and "pushes" those messages to your handheld BlackBerry.
On a normal POP3 email server, that occurs every 15 minutes and if new messages are found they are pushed and the RIM server checks again in 2 minutes for a few cycles, and after 3-4 cycles of two minute checks, if no new messages are found, it reverts to 15 minutes.
On an IMAP email server, the push is instant. An example of this might gmail accounts, yahoo mail, and private domains hosted by GoDaddy.

  • How Do I Backup Outlook for Mac email messages

I want to keep important email messages that have crucial information. I thought I backed up my email by exporting to a memory stick. But it has an extension of .olm and I have no idea how I can open then if I ever need to get the information from the emails.
Is there a better way to back up my email so that I can access it easily in the future?
When I do get an easy way how do I open the emai?

I recommend referring to the following document for instructions on how to troubleshoot this: http://docs.businesscatalyst.com/user-manual#!/site-settings/email-users/cannot-send-email s

  • Counter in mapping for every succesfull message....

Counter to be maintained for every execution of map.Requirement is to generate sequence number which should be like counter.Whenever this map runs and file is created, sequnece numberhas to be generated and it should be appended accordingly when it runs for second time.Like on a particular day, if this interface runs once, counter should be populated as once and next time when it runs it should be incremented to 2

    wat I understood is
first time ur mapping is run the counter value is set to 1 and is mapped to target.
second time the same mapping is run counter shud be incremented by one and mapped to target field.
this is wat u r looking for.
    if yes:
what u can do is u can maintain one table which shud hold the interface no and count no.
first time when mapping runs the table will be updated with count value one. when the mapping run second time the counter value will be incremented n it will update the data in that table.
u have to use the lookup.

  • Can you filter for unread email messages

Has anyone figured out how to filter the inbox for unread messages?  This would be very handy; I use it all the time in the web based Gmail client; "is:unread".  I can do it on my Blackberry so I can't believe it can't be done on the iphone.

    ...and remove this part:
    <Map>
    <MapEntry key='exclude' value='administrators'/>
</Map>getUsers may operate with one or two arguments. not three.
The whole thing should look like this:
    <invoke class='com.waveset.ui.FormUtil' name='getUsers'>

       <map>

  • IOS8:  Gap for Delete Email Message

Is anybody else seeing this (below)?  If so, I'd like to encourage you to report it as a bug on http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.  I have done so, but the more people who report it the better.
Under iOS 8 on my iPhone (I can't recall seeing this on my iPad), often when I delete a message, it leaves a gap in the inbox display:
As you probably guessed, I send to myself four messages, entitled "Test 1" ... "Test 4", and then I deleted "Test 3" (only). The inbox display shows a gap where that message used to be.  The earlier messages failed to "slide up" in the list.
First of all, I interpret this to be a bug.  I suppose one could suggest that it's a feature to ... make it easy to see where in your inbox messages have been deleted from, or something like that, but that seems pretty unlikely.  If so, it's clearly a huge waste of very-limited space.

Thanks for reaching out to us lyndie. Having email come through on your device is always a benefit but not having the ability to remove the account is frustrating. I understand how you feel. I have 6 email accounts and get overwhelmed when I have to check them all. Listed below are some steps to remove a personal email account from your Spectrum 2.
    1) From a home screen, select Apps.
    2) From the Apps tab, select Settings.
    3) From the PERSONAL section, select Accounts & sync.
    4) Select Email.
    5) Select the appropriate email account
    6) Select Menu ( located below the display).
    7) Select Remove account.
    8) Select OK.
Please let me know if the above information is helpful. Also after making the changes power cycle your device.

  • Setting for keeping email messages unoppened?

When I receive an email at work in Outlook it is repeated to my BB. When I open it on my BB, it will show open in Outlook. I would like to see the email shown as unopened in Outlook even though I have opened it on my BB. Is there a way to do this without choosing "Marked Unopened" each time on my BB?

You can turn off wireless message reconciliation with the following:
Open Messages >> Options >> Email Reconciliation >> Set Wireless Reconcile to Off
The only problem with doing that is it will not reconcile other things such as filed messages or message deletions.
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask before you reboot the BES.

    # Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
    # Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
    # This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.
I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]
