Drag and Drop an Attached AutoCad File in a PDF Portfolio to and Open Drawing in AutoCad

I currently Printed all my Details to PDF and combined them all into a catalog to view them. I them attached all the AutoCad files to the PDF. I can open the AutoCad file in the pdf, but it will open it as a new drawing int AutoCad. I would like to Drag and drop from the PDF file to a drawing that is already opened in AutoCad. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hello,
I think you posted this question in the wrong forum: this is one of the Captivate forums and I do not see a relation to it, but can be wrong.

How do I attach a file to an email which is already open on the iphone5?  ie I have already opened an email and started typing it.  How do I simply attach a photo to the email?

Go to the Photos App, select a photo and then select Copy from the Share icon (box with arrow).
Return to Mail and paste the photo where you want it.

How to protect a pdf-file in a pdf-portfolio against extraction?

    You can't.
Portfolios are just a single-page document with a bunch of attached files - the act of opening one of those attachments is identical to the act of "extracting" it into a new document, so blocking it would stop the Portfolio from working.

  • Add a watermark to multiple files within a PDF Portfolio in Acrobat X Pro?

Can I add a watermark to multiple files within a PDF Portfolio in Acrobat X Pro? If so, how?  It appears as though it is a removed option.

I've figured this out. (kind of) not using PDF Portfolio; where you could apply watermark to multiple files in Acrobat 9.
I'm answering my own question in case there are others looking to add a watermark to multiple files.
Step 1: Open a single file
    Step 2: Tools>Pages>Watermark>Add Watermark
Step 3: In bottom of Watermark Edit Box, Select "Apply to Multiple"
    Step 4: Select "Add Files
    etc etc.

  • How to attach a file to a PDF form

    Hi there,
I have this great form all set up with buttons allowing the user to save a copy to their pc, submit the form by email and print a copy but the button I've added allowing the user to submit additional documents with the form (using the menu action 'Attach a file') does not seem to work?  I've enabled user rights and when I first open the form and attempt to attach a doc I get a message saying that this function does not work and I have to save another copy of the form.  I do this and then the attach command works but when I submit the form (to myself) I can't see the attachment anywhere? What am I doing wrong?
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Roger

Actually, if you extend your PDF form with LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES (or ES2) your users with Adobe Reader can attach files. If you use Acrobat Professional to extend your PDF form your users with Adobe Reader cannot attach files.

  • Extracting files out a PDF portfolio

This is my situation: I made a portfolio with several documents, including PDFs, DOCs and CHMs. Everything works the way it supposed to for PDFs and DOCs, I can read them and extract them, but not with the CHMs. I can't neither view or extract them, when I try to extract them it says "Acrobat no puede abrir el archivo adjunto porque la configuracion de archivos adjuntos PDF no permite abrir este tipo de archivo" which is something like "Acrobat can not open the attached file because the configuration of PDF attached files doesn't allow to open this type of file". The files are stuck inside the portfolio and I really need them back. My two-part question is: Is there a way to extract those files? and if not, What kind of files can be safely saved inside a portfolio?

CHM is a compiled help package for Windows, and as such is treated as a compressed archive by Acrobat. Compressed files are not permitted as members of a PDF portfolio, so they cannot be opened or extracted unless you edit your registry to override the security settings for Acrobat - something we don't advise, but if you search these forums there are a couple of posts that show the keys to edit.

  • Cannot open email attachments that are .msg files from a PDF portfolio

    I have been creating
PDF portifolios comprised of emails and their attachments. When I open .xls, .doc, .txt, .html attached messages they open fine. when I try to open an attached .msg file, I get an error message that the file cannot be read or that it it damaged. please advise what I need to do to be able to open these files
    thanks

John, thanks for the suggestion. The messasge was created by outlook and is an email message. I brought it back into outlook and still cannot open it. I think it is more of an issue of the file not being converted properly by acrobat, but I can;t tell for sure.
    thanks

  • Attaching files to a pdf in Adobe Reader

    Hi
I found these instructions on the web on how to attach a file to a PDF document, however, when i get to step 3 (underlined in the instructions below)  "Click the "Add" button at the top pof the attachment navigation panel to open the "Add Attchment" dialog box.
I do not see an "Add" button available.
I want our users to be able to open our forms and attach scanned documents onto the PDF form in order to submit documentation related to their benefits.  Why do I not see an "Add" button?
How do I get an "Add" button.  The version we are using is Adobe Reader 9.3.  The instructions below are for Adobe 8, but if this can be done in Adobe 8, then i can't imagine it can not be done in Adobe 9.3?
    Thank.

How to Attach a File to a PDF Document
    By an eHow Contributor
I want to do this! What's This?
You can easily attach files to your Adobe Acrobat PDF document by using the attachment navigational panel. This panel allows you to quickly attach any type of file to your PDF document if you need to send a corresponding file along with your PDF document. Find out how you can utilize the power of Adobe Acrobat by attaching other files to your PDF document.
    Difficulty: Easy
    Instructions
    Things You'll Need:
    Adobe Acrobat 8
Start Adobe Acrobat, and open a PDF document to which you would like to attach an additional file.
Choose the "View" menu, point to "Navigation Panels" and click to select "Attachments" so a checkmark appears before the selection and the attachment navigation panel opens at the bottom of the screen.
Click the "Add" button at the top of the attachment navigation panel to open the "Add Attachment" dialog box.
Use the "Look in" drop-down list and click on your computer files in the "Attach a File" dialog box to browse to find the file you have saved and want to attach to the open PDF document.
Click to select the file you want to attach, and click the "Open" button to close the "Add Attachment" dialog box and add the file to the attachment navigation panel. The file is now attached to the open PDF document and will be included any time the PDF document is opened or emailed.

    Hi Graffiti
Collaboratively some co workers and I figured out a roundabout way to attach files in adobe reader (not the full blow adobe acrobat reader).
Via Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro I created a blank form with the "comment/mark up" tools enabled.  Then I merged that file with the other PDF form that was formatted with fields, radial buttons etc.
I had to create the blank form for the attachments separately because if I tried to enable the "comment/mark up' tool on the form with fields and radial buttons it disabled the fields.
Once created separately and then merged the functionality worked.  Does that make sense?
The comment markup tool then allowed me to attach files via the "attach file as a comment" option.
With all that said.... I would like to know if this functionality works in all versions of Adobe reader and if not at which level it will not.
In addition, is there a way to make sure that the "comment/mark up tool bar" automatically populates when the form is opened.  This would be helpful, as otherwise will have to walk our users through additional steps.
    Do you have any ideas???
    Thanks for your feedback!

  • How to attach a file to the mail

How to attach a file to the mail

I know that this can be done when going to any PDF program and push (send as  email)
This also can done with multiple files or even with separate pages from that PDF file (Many programs can do that, like: PDF expert, Adobe Reader, iBooks, PDF Provider, Documents, etc)
But what if I begin to wright an email, then I wanted to attach a file (such as PDF, or word, or any file) , FOR BASIC APPLE MAIL IT IS UNAVAILABLE
You can attach Photo or Video but not PDF or other document
There are some email programs that can attach files to email such as my.mail (as you can see from the photo)
But why Apple don't provide such simple service ???

  • Can't open "mime-attachment.ics" file...

I have my emails forwarded to the email account I use on my iPhone. Everything comes across fine, except calendar invitations. These come across with an attached "mime-attachment.ics" file...I just want to open it so I can see the time being proposed... don't need it to update my calendar. Can't find an app that will open an .ics file... any suggestions?

tongadog is absolutely right. You cannot receive an email with an invitation and open the .ics attachment to see what you are invited to. Not only the iPhone email application should be able to understand the attachment and display the description of the calendar invitation, date, time, location and so on, but one should be able to tap on it and have the invitation sent to the calendar. This is very very obvious and basic requirement. If Apple wants the iPhone to live in the business environment this is a fundamental functionality. People in the Windows environment constantly sent these types of invitations and people with Blackberrys continuously laugh at me because I cannot see the content on my iPhone and I am lost as to when the next meeting is. Please Apple, this should be an easy one for you!!! By the way, it is not a 3.0 or 3.1 issue, it's always been like this, I've been suffering from this for a year and a half.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro converting multimedia files in PDF Portfolio

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and it says that it can convert multimedia files in a PDF portfolio
but when I try to convert wmv files in gives me a conversion error. The user's guide clearly outlines that this program can convert multimedia files - MOV, AVI and WMV files to PDF files within a PDF Portfolio. Am I missing something? Why won't this work?

You have not indicated what version of AA9 or OS you have. The current version is 9.5.5. You can do updates from the Help menu usually. If that fails, download updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install them in order.

  • Troubleshooting Adobe Acrobat PDF Portfolios and Flash Player

Urgent Issue. We have a large number of corporate reference files in Adobe PDF Portfolios, created in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.
    (1) Since Adobe moved the Flash Player to a separate stand-alone app, the contents of the existing PDF Portfolios are not visible or accessible.
    (2) I created a new PDF Portfolio to troubleshoot the problem. After adding files to the Portfolio the files are not visible either. Adding the same file a second time triggers a message that the file already exists, but the file is not visible in any of the layouts.
I get a message that I need to have Adobe Flash Player as a separate app when I open existing PDF Portfolios and it provides a link to the download page. But my computer already has Flash Player 11 installed as a separate app.
How do I get Flash Player and Adobe Acrobat 9 to play together to restore the original functionality?

I found the followinginformation on Adobe’s website which indicates rendering flash content wasturned off in v9.5.1 - http://blogs.adobe.com/asset/2012/04/background-on-security-bulletin-apsb12-08.
    html
When you get the error, itrefers you to a webpage with a link for a flash player download:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-acrobat-flash-player-download.html#mai
    n_download
Please note that The Adobe flash player you have installed on your machien is different from the NPAPI version of flash player. So you need to have both of these versions of Falsh player installed on your machine.
