Drag and drop CS6

FOr some reason I can't drag and drop files into carious CS6 applications from Windows Explorer. Not even from Bridge.
I get the circle with line through it dragging to open Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects.
The only way to get items in is to file>open...
Is drag and drop off, bugged, other?

Another quirky deal is that some of the icos for the various CS6 Suite programs went to a default Windows icon.
I had to restore the icons manually on about four programs. Goofy newness has to wear off oe something...
I have had the same problem occasionally and this is easily solved by rebuilding the Windows icon cache.

Hey guys, we recently updated to Fireworks CS6 (from CS5) @ work and while I do love the speed upgrade, there is one thing different that I cannot get past, I cannot drag and drop a document onto the Fireworks menu bar, I need to Open > File every time, its time consuming and frustrating... why would you drop this feature in CS6? :| Am I missing something?

Ah, so it does work in Fireworks CS6—just not on your setup at work. Again, is this a Mac or Windows OS?
After re-reading your initial post, I realized I'm not clear on what you mean by dragging and dropping a document "onto the Fireworks menu bar". I was initally picturing dragging a document onto the Fireworks application icon in the Mac OS dock (or the Windows equivalent to this, if there is one).
Are you actually talking about the command menu that appears across the top of the application interface? If so, I can't open a document using this method in either CS5 or CS6.

Fireworks CS6 Drag and Drop?

I recently got the Fireworks CS6 trial to just well...try it out. I was unable to drag and drop images on to the program, instead when I try to the cursor changes to an icon with a circle and a line going diagonally across it..Any solutions?

Are you dragging and dropping an image onto the canvas of an open document? Or are you dragging an image onto the application icon (e.g. in the dock) in order to open the file in Fireworks? I'm able to do both on Mac OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).
However, there's other ways to accomplish both of those tasks—for example, using File > Import or File > Open.

Firefox Drag and Drop Image to AI CS6 - displaces art on art board...

When dragging and dropping an image from FF 20/21 into AI CS6, it forces elements on the art board to be displaced.
The image dragged into the app will plop into the middle of the art board, and anything in the file just gets moved.
Where it gets moved to is inconsistent- but it appears to always move on a diagonal.
Probably one of the weirdest things I've ever seen AI do, in 10+ years...

It turns out that this doesn't only happen in Firefox, but the results appear (at this point) to be completely random.
It happens in some instances in Chrome, but less frequently.
Also, I have some examples where it is not happening at all in Firefox.
Can't find a common thread for the problem- it's not a browser version or AI version thing, it's not a file version thing, it's not even, seemingly, the results of the objects being dragged out of the browser.

I can't seem to drag and drop more than one video on my timeline ? Only the audio will appear ?

Hello, I've been working on Premiere for a year now
I installed 2014 a week ago, and until today I haven't had any problems.
When I drag and drop the first video, everything works fine, until I try to drop another video.
The second video won't appear on the timeline, except for it's audio
Which is weird to me because everything worked well on the CS6
My sequence settings are

"What happens when you import the files onto a non-quicktime sequence?", well I don't know how to create a sequence before dragging a file on the timeline on this premiere, so I dragged the "Second video" first and it created a sequence with AVC Intra 100 1080i

what's weird is that I could add the second video once, but not twice, and I can add the "first" video several times (it's weird because the sequence was created from the second video's properties)
To answer your last question, the same thing happens too. I can create another sequence with the "Second video", add the "First video" 10 times but I won't be able to add the second video a second time.
On the other hand, when i created another sequence with the "first video", I will be able to add the first video as much as I want, but I won't even be able to add the "second" video once.

Drag and drop images in Dreamweaver

I've been meaning to ask this for a while. Cannot drag images into live view in Dreamweaver Cs6. Windows 7. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This happens randomly on all three machines. What's causing this. This is one of those that you see countless people saying the exact same thing same thing, but no answers. Aggravating. Any help?

Well this is from the link you posted. I've been dragging and dropping in Dreamweaver for years, and I'm doing it now so I'm not sure what you mean. These are three of the options (from the article) for insert image. I restarted Dreamweaver and now I'm able to drag and drop...for now. It seems to be intermittent and I'm wondering what's causing it. All of my machines do this.
Drag an image from the Assets panel (Window > Assets) to the desired location in the Document window; then skip to step 3.
Drag an image from the Files panel to the desired location in the Document window; then skip to step 3.

Drag and drop to illustrator

Hi All,
Using CS6 Mac, I am un successful in dragging and dropping a scanned image from PS to Illustrator.
In the past i was able to do this with CS3 PC.
Is this task possible?

Well, try it the way I suggested in post #1:
with both documents open, drag the layer of the Photoshop scan onto the open Adobe Illustrator document.
(...and I promise not even to ask why you're doing that. )

Drag and Drop Photos in Design View?

I feel like I'm going insane! I've used Dreamweaver for probably a decade now and the latest CC won't allow me to drop pictures into design view? I'm using MAC OSX Mavericks. Has this been disabled somehow?

In my view it is to add:
1. You have to store/save your file first. (see screenshot of my German DW) > click OK.
2. You have to store/save your image into your rootfolder, DW "invites you to do this (see screenshot of my German DW). Click OK.
and behold, now your image appears.

I am designing a panel for Illustrator CS6 that displays colors in a datagrid as follows,

I want to be able to apply color to any art by using the drag-n-drop from the panel to the document. Is it possible that I am able to detect the art on which the color was dropped so that I can apply the color?

I came upon the NativeDragManager class of the CS Extension. We can use it to drag and drop objects from the panel to the application document. For this we use the ClipBoard and specify the format of the clipboard data. There are quite a few formats, namely, bitmap, text, url, file, etc. However, I couldn't use any of these so that I might drag a color from my panel to the document.
Here is a code to drag and drop a text from panel to document,

Drag and drop not working on Mac

By testing my extension in a Mac I noticed that drag and drop doesn't work as expected. Therefore I have created a new simple extension with only one list and a simple data provider:

this should allow the user to reorder the items in the list by dragging them.
It works fine in Windows as extension for Photoshop CS6 and also in Mac as AIR application but it doesn't works as Photoshop CS6 extension in Mac (Lion); I can neither see the drop line between items.
Is this a known problem and which is the workaround ?

Native drag and drop works but no others, have tested in Lion and Mountain Lion. Can't drag elements in a list to reorder them and can't drag between lists.
It seems the only event fired is dragcomplete, the drag indicator is not shown but I can skin the dragged item.
Have tried adding manual drag-drop control ( http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=dragdrop_5.html ) without luck

How to reduce size of drag and dropped screenshot without extreme pixilation / loss of quality?

Using CS6 with OS 10.9.4 I'm dragging and dropping a screenshot with a resolution of 1135x1006 pixels into file with a size of 5760x3600. the image is a rendering of a planet created in a different program and I need to compare its size to another planet already in photoshop. This means I need to decrease its size quite a lit to get it to the correct proportion. When I do this the image winds up looking like a 100x100 thumbnail or something, its terrible. I'm a photoshop newbie and even though I have read other online discussions about similar issues I don't understand what they are talking about. Here is the large planet I'm comparing the small planet to.
And when I import the image of the smaller planet and resize it it looks like this:
I can't have this sort of thing going on especially if I want to export the file at any decent resolution such as 2880x1800 or 3840x2160.
Please help.

I want to drag Square A (Square_1) from the first position marked with "STAR" into the white square (Target_1), i've already made the script, but everytime i drop the square A on the white square (Target_1), it won't fit exactly on the white square (Target_1). if A and that white square both had reg points in their centers or both at the upper left, you would not have a problem. as it is with the white square with upper left reg point and A with center reg point, you can use:
event.target.x = Target_1.x+Target_1.width/2;
        event.target.y = Target_1.y+Target_1.height/2;
but it would be better to use consistant reg points throughout your app.

Drag and drop moves other art around.

Bug? Anyone else experience placing an image into a layout via drag-and-drop and having existing imagery on the artboard get pushed around? Man CS6 really sucks.

Thanks. D&D isn't much faster than right-clicking, copy and paste in Illy. Does that shift things? Just curious as a means of isloating. Could try placing as well just to eleminating any art hitting Illy having the effect you are describing.
Is snap to pixel grid on? Not that it should affect the other items in Illy.
Also, have you tried updating Illy?

Just installed the latest updates for dreamweaver (CS6), and now the drag and drop function in the Bindings menu, does not work.
Is this just a new Adobe Dreamweaver feature or is this something, that will be fixed.
Can someone from Adobe answer this, or are customers just supposed to help each other.
