Drag and Drop Mp3s stop working

I have 30 GB IPOD video. Till a couple of days, I was always able to drag and drop, folders containing mp3 files that I created in past from CDs etc and stored on my hard disc, directly on to my IPOD and it would add them to my IPOD music library. Now It appears doing so but I Cant see the newly added songs any more. I also noticed that the number of songs do not show any increase either.
I tried fist update etc. I tried to install the lates software etc. Then I did a restore which does a wipe and load. None of these seem to work. Finally I noticed just about the only way to add new sets of mp3s is first add them to my Itunes Music library on my hard disk and then drag them from Itunes library to my ipod. Essentially what used to be a one step process now has become into two steps which I hate.

Chris I am afraid you are wrong. Drag and drop directly to ipod without first establishing those songs in Itunes library worked fine in all previous versions of Itunes software. However, in the newest version, if you tried to do that it didnt work. Otherwise I would not ask the question. I have been using it and quite experienced as such and I have eliminated all the possible solutions.
However, I did find a solution. Instead of dragging and droping on the the right sided of your Ipop/ Music space... if you dropped to the left of "music" right on to the title column space it works just fine. This obviously is a bug and no need to fight over that. I am sure Apple guys would fix it in the later versions. However, I have to spend a couple of days frustrated trying all the stupid *** solutions like (update this update that.. nonsensical solutions that people suggest thinking the other guy asking the question is toltal idiot. By the way this happens a lot).

So I may just be dense, but my drag and drop function isn't working anymore. I've been searching the internet for anything that might help, and I've tried all the solutions that I've seen. So those ideas on the other thread didn't help. I think if I reinstalled leopard it may fix it, but the problem there is I don't have the disk at school with me. Having no foresight ruins things.
Would that be the only option or does anyone have other thoughts?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Drag-and-drop no longer working in FF

All drag-and-drop features stopped working on my FF 21.
That is, I can no longer:
- Drag items to bookmarks or rearrange the bookmarks
- Drag words to the search box or links to the URL box
- Change the order of tabs
- Rearrange items on toolbars
- Move text in text boxes
- etc.
Safe mode exhibits the same problems.
Please advise.

I am having this problem as well. It persists even with all my extensions and add-ons disabled, and even in Safe Mode.
I tried both solutions above. I downloaded FF21 installer, uninstalled FF, then reinstalled. Still cannot drag and drop anything. So I reset Firefox. Still no drag and drop. No rearranging tabs, no dragging images on web pages, you get the idea.

Why cant i drag and drop mp3 files into my itunes library in itunes 11.1.1?

I recently lost a hard drive with most of my music on it. i removed and reinstalled itunes and set it to work on my other hard drive. i was able to drag and drop mp3 files that i had and put them into my library. After the latest updates, now it only gives my the cirlcle with the slash though it when i try, not sure what changed

Can't drag and drop mp3s to trekstor i.beat, keeps disconnecting the device

Hi, am using snow leopard. In the past was perfectly able to use non ipod mp3 players. Now all of a sudden can't transfer mp3 via drag and drop to my new Trekstor i.beat. Yesterday tried an Archos, also did not work. What happens:
when I drag and drop mp3 from desktop to player, the window copy to trekstor opens and starts to tell me how much time it will need for copying and then nothing happens for a while and then I get the message: "hard disk was not correctly disconnected" and the device is being disconnected. I then get the message: finder could not ...because data could not be read or written" (mistake: - 36)
Sometimes I can drag and drop jpgs, but never mp3s. They are normal mp3s, not protected.
Can anyone help? And no, I don't want to buy an iPod. Thanx

they are normal mp3 players and don't need to be compatible with apple. They can function as USB devices and normally be loaded with mp3s. I've tried this with other macs and it works fine. It used to work on my mac, too, but for some reason does not work anymore. There is something wrong with my software or settings and I would be very grateful if somebody could help me solve this problem.

Drag and drop doesn't work after upgrading to Yosemite

It is strange. Since upgrading yesterday to Yosemite, my drag and drop does not working consistently. I use drag and drop all of the time, into emails, moving files from one folder to another, moving music from finder to itunes, etc. It seems each time I try to drag a file, initially the Finder window I am dragging from crashes and re-starts. Once it re-starts, I actually am able to move a file as normal for about a minute or two. After a minute or two, if I try to drag and drop a file, again it crashes and re-opens.
Does anyone have any ideas? I did submit a bug notice to Apple, but thought maybe someone would have a fix.

After upgrading my iMac to Yos, I could only select and copy files to relocate them. Frustrating for a couple of days. I eventually found that the setting on my trackpad was for three fingers over a selected file/folder window/etc moved the item to where I wanted. It had automatically changed to this preference. Its called a 'three finger drag'. The video shows a pane being moved but it also applies to all files etc. It can found in preferences/trackpad/point & click. Here you can turn it off if that is hat is causing the issue. Otherwise no software solutions I'm aware of. Good luck.

I can't drag and drop mp3 files directly to my shuffle

i have a ipod shuffle (2nd gen). i cant drag and drop mp3 files via itunes. it only allows me to put them into library and then sync it. but i dont want to sync, i just want to put mp3s directly into shuffle.

with my old ipod (ipod nano 1st gen) i could easily drag and drop my mp3s from windows explorer to ipod by using itunes. is it itunes new version problem so that i couldnt drag and drop manually, or ipod shuffle problem.

I want to drag and drop elements of a listbox to another position inside ob the listbox.
That works very fine as long as I use LabView during the programming of the VI.
If I build the VI to a application drag and drop is not working anymore.
What is the problem?

Drag and drop photos not working

With Aperture 3.5 you can no longer Drag a photo to another app, such as iMessage and drop the photo into that app.
The target Apps do not see the Drag operation and therefore ignore it (don't show the + when ready to accept the dropped photo).
Drage and Drop continues to work on earlier Aperture releases even if you update to Mavericks.

And it works with iMessages.
After enabling the previews in Aperture's preferences you need to generate them. The previews settings will only automatically create previews for new photos. To generate them for older images, use the command "Photos > Update Preview".
How large are the images, that you try to drag? For very small images Aperture will not create previews at all, if the images have not been adjusted.

Try this first. On your hard drive, go to Users / yourself / Library / Preferences.
In that Preferences folder there is a file called com.apple.finder.plist.
Trash that file and restart.

Illustrator extension - Drag and drop is not working on mac

During testing my extension on Mac,I noticed that drag and drop doesn't work as expected. Therefore I have created a new simple extension with two lists.
