Drag and drop technology

Is it possible to drag and drop images in Captivate 3 to
recreate assembling an object. What I would like to create is an
assessment that requries the learner to build something from the
components they just learned about. There is a proper way to
assemble it so failure captions would be necessary or something
that indicates to them if they assembled it correctly. I am
doubtful but thought I would ask.

Paul's widget proves it is indeed possible, but you will find
you can't do it using Captivate alone. You will have to create
something in Flash or Swish, then drop that into a slide as an
animation object.

Drag and Drop Functionality within the SAP Portal

Does anyone know if SAP Netweaver Portal 6.0 sp18 supports drag and drop technology. A good comparison would be Google where a user can drag iViews around and place them where they would like.
We are trying to build something similar to Google Gadgets with iViews and we would like our users to be able to add, remove, drag, and drop them in the Portal.
Has anyone done something similar to where I would be able to leverage them for further questions.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am wanting to use a similar functionality to Yahoo where people can just drag the iViews they want into the page and saving their personalised settings. I am unable to find information as to what Portal release supports this functionality and how it works. Would you be able to help?

Drag and Drop operation of SWT is not working in windows 7

I have created VB script to elevate all administrator permissions to user and launched my application but not able to drop image to label in my application on Windows 7. It works fine if I remove User Account Setting (UAC). Please help how I can solve it.

There is absolutely NO way to drag and drop newly purchased music from the Purchased list on the phone into my iTunes library? I'm finding it hard to believe that something so simple cannot be done!

I like to make MP3 CD's when I have people over, or when my friends have people over so I can just pop them into the CD player and let them play all night without having to worry about changing the CD or anything. Well, Apple's music is in AAC format, so I have to convert the songs to MP3 files using the converter in iTunes. So I'll convert them to MP3's and just delete the AAC file so I don't have doubles. The problem is, the next time I plug the phone into my laptop to transfer new purchases, iTunes thinks that the songs I converted aren't there anymore because the phone has them as AAC files, and iTunes has them as MP3 files, so it doubles the music again...EVERY time!! It's very frustrating! So this is why instead of clicking Transfer Purchases, I would like to be able to just drag and drop the songs I want from the Purchased list on the phone into my iTunes library. I hope I explained this right...lol. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I'm able to do that. I'm hoping maybe somebody here can help me out and give me some pointers on what to do about this. That stinks! I can actually do that at my house...I just plug my iPhone right into the wire that's plugged into my receiver in my living room...but some of my friends aren't "technology savvy"...lol...so they just have DVD players and I'll put the CD in there because it will read an MP3 disc. What's funny, is I have the phone set to "Manually Manage Music", and when I plugged it into the laptop just now, the one song I downloaded last night on the phone, transferred over to the iTunesl library. That NEVER happens. And it only transferred the one song...it didn't double the other songs like it ususally does. I swear, iTunes does what it wants, when it wants sometimes...lol. Drag and Drop file from a jsp to local machine

Hello All,
We have got a user requirement where, currently we have an attachment section in our JSP, where users are provided with the file download links,
as the user clicks those links the file download pop appears.
But now they ask for a drag and drop functionality, so that the link icon which they see on the JSP, if they drag it to there local machine, the file is downloaded
to the machine. Am not sure if it can be done from a web page. Any ideas if at all this is feasible. Or any direction where i can look through.

It's a MS proprietary technology and it would work in only one certain webbrowser developed by the same company, so you would exclude about 40% of the world wide web population from using the functionality. Just use the standard technologies.

Sure you can build it, I just don't think anyone has, you could also use their solution as well in an APEX page it's just a matter of integration.

I am using the Project Gantt component and want to drag and drop inside the component. I want to drag a timeline from one row and drop it to another row. And also drag a timeline from a row and drop it another place in the same row. Can I make the component a dragsource and droptarget?

Running application from installer in vista prevents drag and drop

Running a desktop application from Vista and Windows 7 through a wizzard, prevents doing a drag and drop from the desktop or another windows explorer to our java application.
We are using a windows wizard to install the application once it finishes it launches the application within the application the drag and drop work perfectly, but I can not drag from desktop or external windows explorer into my application, dragging from the application to the desktop or to another windows explorer is working fine.
If we run the application by clicking directly on the exe file (generated by the installer app), the application launches and do not present the anomaly (Drag and drop into a out side the applications work fine).
So the issue might be related to the way the installer executes the application, that maybe have a different configuration or windows permissions are not set correctly when started by the installer.
Both ways of launching the application have the same working directory the only difference i found was in the system environment (System.getenv()) the one that works has a SESSIONNAME key with a CONSOLE value in it, could this be the problem?
Any idea on how to workaround this issue or some idea to look at the installer will be kindly appreciated.

One idea is to use [Java Webstart|http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/javawebstart/index.jsp] *(<- link)* as your installer. It might not fix the D'n'D problem, but at least if you get to the point of telling Sun about it, they will care (at least) one iota about fixing it.

Drag and drop a bounded task flow in a jspx page

I am using jdeveloper 11.1.2.1 I had created a Bounded task flow which contains a jsff
page.While i am trying to drag and drop this Bounded task flow as a region in jspx page
am getting the error as
Cannot create a region from a taskflow containing facelets fragements in a
jspx page.

fragment is .jsff (JspXML type)-- main page must be of JSP XML type (.jspx )

Drag and drop mail to mailboxes not working

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion on my MacBook Pro, when I attempt to drag and drop an e-mail message from my inbox to another mailbox (folder), has stopped working. I can still move mail to different mailboxes from the Toolbar / Message / Move to.
I'm using Apple Mail 6.0. I've looked, but do not see any functions in Mail Preferences or Mailbox functions that enables or disables this feature. Am I looking in the wrong place or missing something?

It's actually much worst than that. THe MOVE command works only intermittently to move blocks of messages. This is true for both the MOVE button in the toolbar and for attempting tm move by using the control-click menu for a selected group of messages.
Mail 5.2 under Lion does not fail in this way. I am running two systems with the same collections of mail on each.
I moved back to Apple Mail because of the end-of-life status of TBird. TB has lots of bells and whistles that make for easy use and it has handled by 30K/6.5GB mail collection without difficulty. It also provides a lot of features that Mail does not have, including very helpful statistics during operations.
I looked at a variety of Mail replacements inculding all the commercial stuff. But nothing really dominates the marketplace andl the vendors seem frail. It's clear that the big money is in cloud-service e-mail handling, not apps to run on machines you own and control.
I imagined that Apple developed and maintained software would be more reliable and sustainable in the long run. It is distressing that the company's test and QA processes did not catch this but I suppose that Apple too is planning on letting Mail wither as their cloud service gains users and market share. Why sell an app once when you can charge a monthly fee for the service. It's perhaps cheeky to say but the cloud isn't a technological model it's a business model.

Drag and drop Mail saving

Is there a way of drag and drop mail saving err.. within mail.
Let me explain I use Entourage simply because I can select all the messages (in any of Entourages folders) and drag them onto finder and it create individual mail files. Though this can't be done by default in mail I wonder if there is a work round. I know you can select all your emails in mail and do a save as but this save all the emails as one chuck of text. Plus the Entourage version saves your attachments within the individual files.

Drag and drop screen sharing

I have been able to successfully connect to another iMac on my wirless network with screen sharing. I cannot figure out how take a file on the remote desktop and drag and drop it on to the compuer that I am working on using screen sharing...

I want to Sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes however I get an error message from iTunes each time I connect the phone to the PC saying that I should restore to factory settings. Frustrating because it's already annoying enough that I can't drag and drop mp3's!!!

I have never been so frustrated before in my life with any phone. I find it obnoxious as it is that I cannot simply drag and drop files (especially MP3's) straight from my PC directly into my phone, which I have been used to doing up until now. Everyone who convinced me to get the iPhone has instructed me that my frustration can be fixed by downloading iTunes and syncing it all up via that program (which I have never used before). So, I downloaded the program successfully, however when I connect the iPhone 4 to the PC and iTunes is open, I get an error message that 'iTunes cannot read the content of the iPhone "iPhone" and that I should go to the Preferences tab of the iPhone and select 'restore' to restore this phone to factory settings. First of all, I don't understand why I need to do that. I have already downloaded apps and other important things in the 2 days that I have the phone. I am also scared that it will erase my contacts. This is such a headache. Music is very imporatant to me, but I am getting so frustrated that I don't have freedom over the phone which I thought was supposed to be one of the best out there. I would really appreciate help in this matter. I am sure the phone is great but I am on the verge of taking it back and getting something else.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

When I drag and drop an icon from the address bar to the desktop is does creat the shortcut but will not display the website icon, only the firefox icon, how can I display website icons?

When I drag and drop a website icon from the Forefox address bar to the desk top, the short cut is created but the icon that appears is the firefox Icon. I want to disply the icon from the website that the short cut refers to. I have checked all I can think of in my computer to no avail.

You have to assign the favicon yourself to the desktop shortcut (right-click the shortcut: Properties) after you have dragged the link to the desktop.
You can usually find the favicon in Tools >Page Info > Media and save the icon there.
Otherwise use the main domain of the website and add favicon.ico (e.g. mozilla.com/favicon.ico ) to display the favicon in a tab and save that image to a folder.

Hi, Im not a frequent forum poster, as most of my questions can be found already answered on them!
This is a question Ive had for a long time and it amazes me that no-one else seems to ask it. I check at each OS upgrade but its never there...
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
I was able to do this years ago in MS Outlook, and utilized it all the time when I needed to push things back, now I have to open the event and select an new date in the drop-down calendar for each & every event I want to move to a new month at the end of the month.
If its definitely not possible, how to you ask apple to consider including it - it doesnt seem like a particularly difficult task.

No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).
If you have a suggestion for Apple to change that method use: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback.
