Drag lock indicator for trackpad (mouse) cursor

Anyone know how to get a drag lock indicator for the trackpad (mouse) cursor. When using the track pad, I'm often finding that my final click does not release the item I was dragging and then I inadvertently drag it across my screen, as I go to my next function. Would be nice if there was some type of indicator that would pop up on the cursor so you knew when drag lock is active.

Idiot question - How do I re-install Leopard? No matter what I do, it kicks the disk out on restart. I have tried using the 'install' command on the disk, nothing. It kicks the disk out and boots from the hard drive. I have tried rebooting holding down the 'c' key to force it to read from the drive, it still kicks the disk out and boots from the hard drive. What else should I do?

Someone suggested a solution involving permissions. I fixed my permissions. Drag and drop is still not working.
There was also a set of commands to type into terminal that would supposedly fix the issue, or perhaps it was a Spotlight issue that the thread had morphed into. I did that. Drag and drop is still not working.
Am I just totally hosed? Help!

Lock indicator for Profit Centers

Hello,
I have a problem with the Transaction KCH5n, KE52 and KE5X. If I change the Lock indicator for Profit Centers in the Transaktion KCH5n I can not see the changing of that indicator within the report KE5X. The lock indicator is still as it was before that changing. Furthermore, I have the same result in table CEPC - no changing.
However, if I make the changing in Trx KE52 I can see it in all Trx's and tables.
Does somebody has had that problem before as well and know a solution

Have you activated it after you locked it? First it goes to inactive status. In KCH5N once you have set the indicator, the activation status goes red. Select that profit center and then click on activate icon. A dialog box appears with the check box enabled for that changed profit center. Click on green tick icon to activate.

Lock Indicator for appraisals

Hello,
Can someone suggest me the table where the lock indicator for an appraisal doc be saved.
When I open an appraisal document, i get a message saying that "Appraisal has been locked by you"... can you please suggest me where exactly the thing is saved.

Hi,
If you want to view and unlock it, use PHAP_ADMIN you will find the lock/unlock option under 'Goto' -> 'Locked Appraisal Documents'.
The other way of doing it is through function module HRHAP_SHOW_LOCKED_DOCUMENTS run it with or without an add on application (PA,LSO etc)

What is Drag Lock in Magic Trackpad?

I could see in the video on the Track Pad preferences page some of what Drag Lock (a one finger option). However, I found when I enabled it, my ability to drag things such as windows or icons or pictures in an open window did not work even though I had One Finger Dragging checked (as well as Tap to Click).
If I unchecked Drag Lock, the dragging started working.

I am considering the purchase of a Magic Trackpad, however I may go with the Magic Mouse instead. The problem I'm having is with Drag and Drop across multiple monitors (which is what I have). There is simply not enough surface space on the Trackpad to get me over the the precise location where I want to drop my object.
Hopefully the mouse will work better. I'll probably poke around online a bit to see what others think.

Drag lock with Magic Trackpad closes window

I'm trying to use drag lock but it closes the window when I double tap the top of the window. As far as I understand, the double tap is supposed to enable drag lock. What am I doing wrong?

You have to do a tap-tap + hold not a tap-tap. If you let go of your finger on the second tap you get a double click instead of dragging. That is, if you have the tap to click option enabled.

My magic trackpad mouse cursor disappears

I have a Macbook Pro, running Snow Leopard and from time to time my mousecursor just disappears. It's not while I'm typing but when i just hover over the screen. This happens especially when using iPhoto and Safara but also with some other applications. The cursor usually appears again when I move it over the dock and back into the application but it's kind of annoying. Any ideas how i can resolve this problem permanently? Thank you!

Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue. Have you tried trashing the mouse preferences? Tried the suggestions mentioned in the Intel-based Apple Portables: Troubleshooting unresponsive trackpad issues article?

Wireless mouse and drag lock

Is the wireless mouse supposed to have a drag lock like the pro mouse? (squeeze the side buttons). My wife's pro mouse is really easy to use the drag lock, but my (very) new wireless mouse seems to have no function to squeezing the small elliptical, slightly contrasting color, side pieces.

Hmm. I thought "you need to lift the mouse up while dragging a file" is the definition of drag lock. Anyway, my wife's mouse (same shape as the wireless, with side pieces the same shape and location as on the wireless) allows me to gently squeeze the side pieces while the mouse 'button' is depressed, lift the mouse, and move the mouse back to a better location on the mouse pad -- all without losing the 'mouse down' state. My wireless mouse does not allow me to maintain 'mouse down' unless I keep the bottom part of the mouse on the pad and maintain downward pressure on the housing.
If I tip the wireless mouse just right, I can get the optical tracking to lose sight of the pad, and as long as I keep some downward pressure on a corner of the mouse I can keep 'mouse down', but it's a pain. It also seems completely inconsistent with recent Apple mouse designs (not including the assignable feature on the might mouse).

DnD Mouse Cursor

I have a problem that after finishing a Drag and Drop operation, the mouse cursor does not always change back to normal. Sometimes it does, sometimes it takes a click or a move, but other times it just never changes back. I'm using my own DropTarget, with the following code...

one thing I would check is that the drop method is always completing execution normally (i.e. it is not throwing any exceptions).
are you sure that the two lines of code you've provided are actually getting reached?

G510 Caps Lock/Num Lock indicator

Hi!
Is there any way Lenovo can create a simple program for Caps Lock/Num Lock indicator for G510? There is practically no way of determining if Num Lock is enabled or not, only by testing manually.
Would love to have that kind of app.

There are several free third party applications that will accomplish the same thing. Basically the application loads at Startup and places indicators for the Caps Lock and Num Lock down in the Tray or on your Desktop.

"Drag lock" for Bluetooth mouse?

I'm quadriplegic and have recently been put in a new wheelchair that makes using a conventional mouse and keyboard (which I've always done, albeit slowly) impossible. My new setup involves a microlite switch & SwitchXS for text input; I also have a Bluetooth module on my wheelchair that turns the driving joystick into a mouse, with right and left click functionality. Unfortunately, it can't drag items (you "click" by nudging the joystick to the left or right, so there's no way to maintain the mouse down state and move the cursor). I've been using a dwelling utility, but it's terribly annoying to have to break my workflow by moving all the way across 2 1920x1080 screens & back, and get the timing perfect, whenever I need to drag.
I'm looking for something like Windows has in its preferences, where you hold the left-click for a specified time & it turns on drag. Alternatively, I'd be willing to give up right-clicking if that could be mapped to drag lock. I'm even willing to pay a developer at this point, as dwelling is just not a satisfactory option. Any suggestions?

X300: TrackPad will not move mouse cursor for several seconds after clicking any TrackPoint button

I have a new X300 with a clean install of Windows XP (SP3) and all of the latest drivers from the Lenovo website. Whenever I click any of the three TrackPoint buttons, the TrackPad is not able move the mouse cursor for about 2 seconds. During this time, I can still move the cursor with the TrackPoint. I did not experience this behavior with my previous laptop, which was a ThinkPad T42 running Windows XP (SP2).

I once installed XP using my great Unattended-selfmade-fullypatched-etc-DVDs (I call it Windows XP Ready to Go Edition) on my X300 and had zero problems. This is also based on SP3.
Perhaps the order of installing servicepack and several drivers is important.
I start off with an SP3-integrated installationof Windows XP, patch it fully first and then go on with driver updates (Chipset first, then ACPI, LAN, WLAN, Sound, Graphics, Input devices.
At least its possible to get it working flawlessly, my Installation proved that.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND INSTALLING SP3 AS AN UPDATE, ONLY START FROM SCRATCH USING AN SP3-INTEGRATED SETUP.

Magic trackpad drag lock issue

I love the trackpad and purchased one for work, it has completely replaced my mouse and the only problem I have with it is that from time to time it gets stuck in the click and drag mode, my work being highly browser intensive and it is rather annoying to move my mouse and have everything selected. even worse is when I happened to click on a tab within a safari window, since it will not release it, that window gets dragged where ever I point. When this happens I cannot find a way to release the lock.
I have already turned off drag lock and have just turned off drag altogether to see if it helps. After I can resolve this problem I will be perfectly satisfied with the Trackpad. it is also fun that the trackpad does not have its own place in any part of the apple support site & forums.

you'd think this issue wouldn't be a big deal, but let me tell you. lol.
aside from losing starcraft games cause suddenly i can't move my units, only select them, this *****. i was painting something in photoshop and, sure enough, drag lock gets stuck and starts painting all over my work. couldn't even hit the undo because every time i moved the cursor to save or close the doc it would just start painting all over again. ridiculous. so i lost i don't know how many hours of work on this painting because i had to just up and restart it.
like i said, the first time this happened it didn't seem like a big deal, but as you can see it can be really bad. fixitz.
at least remove the offending software from the next update until the problem is resolved.

Where is drag lock for my new Magic Pad?

I just bought a new magic pad for my iMac. I really like it and I have touch to click enabled. I am trying to find an easier way to click and drag other than click with my thumb and draging with my finger. I read something about drag lock that would do this but I don't see if in the System Preferences. Have things changed? Is there a way to click and drag that doesn't involve an hard click?

Two ways to do this:
You can use the 3 finger drag option in System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click tab > check 3 finger drag. Note this method will alter other 3 finger gestures.
The other method is in System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse & Trackpad in list on left > Trackpad options... button > check Enable dragging with or without drag lock. This is a double tap and hold method of dragging.

Magic Trackpad - One Finger Dragging/Drag Lock Not Working

So I'm loving my new Magic Trackpad, but my one finger dragging and drag lock does not seem to be working.
First of all, it is enabled under System Preferences-->Trackpad. No matter what I do, I cannot get one finger dragging to work. I logged in under my wife's account, enabled it there, and tried but still no luck. It doesn't appear to be working under either of our accounts.
I've yet to create a brand new account to try, but my wife's account just as well be new, as it's virtually never used.
Note that I did have a Magic Mouse previously and using MagicPrefs. I'm curious if this might be causing issues, but I haven't tried removing it yet.
Any ideas? Physically clicking while dragging is about to drive me crazy.

QUICK FIX: Change the option for the three-finger gesture to dragging; it works.
Although I wish I could do one-finger dragging and keep the three-finger gesture for Navigation.
But not being able to drag or select text/pics, was a more urgent desire than Navigation, so I changed the option on the three-finger gesture.
I have had the SAME PROBLEM with dragging and drag lock (whatever 'drag lock,' is, I haven't seen explained; it doesn't work for me, yet).
_Everything else I've gotten to work_ (secondary click in left/right corners took a while - now I learned that I actually got to push down/click; or, at least, doing that makes it work).
But, one finger dragging - still no go.
I'll try the suggestions here. Check out the apps mentioned. Subscribe. See what happens.
P.S. - It doesn't 'shock me,' that a brand new product with first version software is not perfect, nor that I/we may have a bit of a learning curve.
My right wrist was ready for a rest and my left hand eager to get into computer use, so I love this product, find it 'graceful,' and pleasant and have confidence that it will be improved by Apple and others, and ourselves as we get use to it.
