Dragging an images from Safari to the mail Icon doesn't embed image
Hi all - I was wondering if there was a way to change the following default functionality:
If I drag an image to the Mail icon in the dock, it will open an email with the address of the image as text.
What i want is for the image to be embedded in the email.
I can go to Mail, open a new mail, then go back to safari and drag the image and it works fine, but I'd just rather have that happen when I drag the image to the Mail icon.
Any suggestions?
Thank you for the reply but this doesn't seem to work for me...

Why can't I save images from safari? The only option it gives me is Copy.
Every time I select an image on safari, the image highlights and the only thing that happens is it gives me is the blue bubble that says copy. It doesn't give any saving options. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi, if you are still interested, I found a solution. so quick tap on the picture in Images that you want, then under the pictures you'll see three vertical dots, next to closing cross. when you are pressing on dots you'll have several option, you need to press "view image".
The image will open in seperate tab and then you can save it as you would usually do it. hope it helps! ))) -
Cannot drag and drop image from Safari to Desktop - drop location is unavai
Drag and drop an image from Safari 2.0.4 to the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Desktop does not save it. Console says:
"drop location is unavailable"
Control click over the image and "Save Linked File to the Desktop" works as expected.
Any hint most welcome. Thanks.Why not simply adjust the link for the image in the Links palette? Certainly could be contained in an action, if need be for duplicating and exporting multiple images...

all tool icons are gone from safari and apple mail tool bars. Tool tips works when you hover over the box with the missing icons. Macbook pro OS X 10.8.4
The boxes that the icons were in are still there, but no iconsHello jo90733,
I would recommend reinstalling Mountain Lion to replace the missing/damaged components of these applications. While the process shouldn't affect any data (images, music, etc) you have on the system, it's always a good idea to have a backup in place prior to reinstalling.
OS X Mountain Lion: Back up your Mac
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11371
OS X Mountain Lion: Reinstall OS X
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10763
Important: You need to be connected to the Internet to reinstall OS X.
Choose Apple menu > Restart. Once your Mac restarts (and the gray screen appears), hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys.
If you’re not connected to the Internet, choose a network from the Wi-Fi menu (in the top-right corner of the screen).
Select Reinstall OS X, and then click Continue.
Follow the onscreen instructions. In the pane where you select a disk, select your current OS X disk (in most cases, it is the only one available).
To start the installation, click Install.

Message title says it: Can you copy/paste files from the Finder to Mail in Lion, or drag them onto the Mail icon in the Dock to create a new message and attach the files to it?
I can't find anything in the Knowledge Base that says these two options no longer work or still do.
I do not have a system capable of running Lion, but I need to know the answer nonetheless.Gee, I don't know: "paste attachments mail Lion"? ;-)
One further question, if I may: in Panther (which is where I've aggregated nearly 7 years of mail), if you copy more than one file in the Finder, switch to Mail, and paste the files into a new message, only the file names paste in. If you copy one file and paste it into a Mail message, you get the file, not just the name. Is that still true, or has that (IMHO) bug been fixed since 10.3.9? -
Using mail on Ipad only a blanc window will be displayed. After 10 sec the window is automatically closed and the app icon will be displayed.
Redirecting from safari to other mail adress works witout problems. Known Problem?Try to force quit your mail app. Double tap the home button. You'll see the app icons and previews on the screen. Scroll sideways if needed to bring the mail app up on the screen. Flick the preview up and off the screen to close the app. Tap on the home screen preview to exit the mode.
Try to open your mail again and see if it works. -
Hey all! Does anyone here know if there's a way to do the following in Keynote for iOS?
Add hyperlinked text
View notes long with slides
Snag and display images from Safari to put into Keynote
And if so, how?HI,
I have created a project similar to yours and I can't see all the issues mentioned.
But, with the links which you sent, issues are present.
So, can you send me the CPTX project so that I can verify.

IOS7 won't let me paste copied images from safari
When I am in Google images using safari, and I want to save a photo I touch it. It is framed in blue dots and the action "Copy" is offered. I am not offered the option to "save". I touch copy, move to photos, but touching the screen does not offer paste. In fact, touching the screen does nothing. So, I can't save photos from safari using the IPAD Air and IOS7. And I can't paste photos either. That means, when I want to do postings in Face Book I have to go to my desk top PC or Laptop in order to make a posting in Face Book. The IPAD Air, and IOS7 seem awfully dumb to me. There are videos on the web demonstrating how to save photos from Web sites using an IPAD and Safari, but the operations shown aren't on the IPAD Air or IOS7, they appear to be operations using earlier IPADs and earlier versions of the operation system.

I just went to Google images and save image was offered.
It appears as though I jumped the gun. When I first went to this website and searched for "flowers", I was not able to save any of the images on the ensuing search results page.

But when I went to a site simply by entering the words "Dog Images" in the Safari URL field, I was able to save the images from the resulting Search results.
Now it works for me either way. Strange. -
How to print from safari on the ipad2?
I setup my printer on my wireless network and i was able to print a document using "pages".My dad was trying to print an attachment from his email in safari and after the print job was sent, the printer did nothing.I cant seem to print from safari.
The printer is a canon mg3170 which i already firmware update it to make it airprint compatible.If the ad hoc printer mode is not available for the envy, there are some reasonably cheap ways to get a wifi network in your car. A cheap router from best but will generate the wifi network. Does not matter if you have Internet or not. A ifi device will also work, and most/ all of them run on batteries. Lastly, if you have a smart phone or I phone that generates a wifi hotspot, that may be enough to support the printing function. ( I need to test my I phone later today to see if that works.)

Hello,
I had no problem accessing my Gmail account through the mail icon until two weeks ago. I can still access my Gmail account through Safari, but when I attempt to access my Gmail through the mail icon, Gmail tells me that my password is invalid. Any Suggestions? Any help would be greatly aprecieated.
Thanks,
FrankI see you are using LastPass. Could that add-on be interfering with your login?? You could try disabling it temporarily under Tools > Add-ons to test that theory.

When I send a photo directly from iPhoto using the Mail app on my iMac, the wrong photo appears on my iPad2 Mail app. However the correct photo shows if I log into gmail on the iPad2. I assume there is a glitch with my "Mail" app on the iPad2? Any suggestions for getting the correct photo to show on iPad2?
Update: I was able to have the correct photo show in my email as received on my iPad2 by changing a setting on my IMac prior to sending the photo on the email.
On the iMac, I went into iPhoto > Preferences > Email photos using > Mail (in lieu of "iPhoto"). This seems to have corrected the issue. I'm not sure why. Now the correct photo shows up when received on my iPad2. -
Creating a .jpg image from with in the J2ME app
Hi,
I want to send a document to the printer over bluetooth to print.
For that I searched on net, but couldn't find any APIs supported by J2ME to print it. I also found a link http://www.hcilab.org/documents/tutorials/Brother/ where I found that I can send the data by creating an image and then writing data (text or image ) in to it, and then sending that image to print.
Image img = Image.createImage(816, 40);
Graphics g = img.getGraphics();
g.setColor(0, 0, 0);
g.setFont(Font.getFont(Font.FACE_PROPORTIONAL, Font.STYLE_BOLD,Font.SIZE_LARGE));
g.drawString("Printing test from "
+ System.getProperty("microedition.platform") + " on "
+ new Date(), 10, 10, 0);
driver.print(img, btAddr);This code is working fine on this printer.
I am using HP 460cb printer, and I tried the same thing, but am not getting any results. Can any one of you tell me what mistake am I making.
Image blankImage = Image.createImage(SpotBilling.MAX_IMG_WIDTH, SpotBilling.MAX_IMG_HEIGHT);
Graphics g = blankImage.getGraphics();
g.setColor(0,0,0);
g.setFont(Font.getFont(Font.FACE_PROPORTIONAL, Font.STYLE_PLAIN, Font.SIZE_SMALL));
g.drawString("Printing test on Wednesday - 18th Jan, 2006", 10, 50, Graphics.TOP|Graphics.LEFT);
g.drawImage(imgTest, 60, 150, Graphics.HCENTER | Graphics.VCENTER);
int width = blankImage.getWidth();
int height = blankImage.getHeight();
int y = 0;
os.write(CMD_UNIVERSAL_EXIT);
for(int i = 1; i<=height; i++){
blankImage.getRGB(temp, 0, width, 0, y, width, 1);
byte[] pixels = new byte[width];
for (int x = 0; x < temp.length; x++) {
pixels[x] = (byte) ((((temp[x] & 0x00FF0000) >> 16)
+ ((temp[x] & 0x0000FF00) >> 8) + (temp[x] & 0x000000FF)) / 3);
// Transfer Raster Graphics
os.write(TRANSFER_RASTER_DATA);
byte[] len = numToDecimal(pixels.length);
os.write(len);
os.write(DATA);
os.write(pixels);
y++;
}I have another query, if I can not do this. Is there any way I can create a .jpg image from with in the J2ME application.
I have some text and an image that I get by invoking camera from the code and then capturing a picture. I need to combine them both, and then send it to the printer.
If there is any way, I can convert this blankImage mentioned above (containing both text and Image), please provide me the solution.
Any document or any source code is appreciated.
regards,
AshishI have succeeded in creating a mutable image that contains text and image (.png), through
Image img;
img = Image.createImage(50, 60);
protected void paint(Graphics g){
g.drawImage(img, getWidth()/2, getHeight()/2, Graphics.HCENTER | Graphics.VCENTER);
Graphics graph = img.getGraphics();
graph.setColor(0, 0, 0);
graph.setFont(Font.getFont(Font.FACE_PROPORTIONAL, Font.STYLE_BOLD,
Font.SIZE_LARGE));
graph.drawString("Printing test from "
+ System.getProperty("microedition.platform") + " on ", 10, 10, 0);
graph.drawImage(image, img.getWidth()/2, img.getHeight()/2,Graphics.HCENTER|Graphics.VCENTER);
graph.fillArc(0,0,10,10,0, 360);
}Now I want to create a .jpg image of this img image(Mutable image).
What I am doing is that,
1. I am converting this image in to int array, using getRGB() method.
2. Then I am converting int array in to byte array.
3. And then I am opening a file(extension is .jpg)
4. Then I am sending this byte array in to the file which is .jpg
The .jpg file is getting created, but the data in it is very absurd, like yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Please help me in this matter.

Help says use Menu Bar/File/Import.
My Firefox does not have File/Import option.
How do I import bookmarks from Safari to Firefox?Import and Backup is the third (last) button on the toolbar in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) that looks like a star.<br />
Other platforms show the text label, but on Mac you only see toolbar icons. -
