Dragging and resizing fields

Hello,
1. I want to make a field just a little bit smaller but when I grab the grab bars and drag to make it smaller it redcues it too much. How do I drag it very, very small amounts? I have looked for help topics on this and there is nothing. I have tried holding down ctrl, alt, and shift when I drag but nothing does it.
2. How do I get a field to just nudge a little with arrow keys?

Can't "drag and drop" fields in Salesforce.

I can no longer "drag and drop" fields in Salesforce. When I try, the entire set of fields highlights. I can get this feature to work with a clean install of let's say, Firefox, but within an hour or so, back to the same problem. Any thoughts out there?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. In case there is an access problem with some of those files try the following: download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. See if that will help.
The reason I'm thinking an access problem, you can do an edit and move the modified version which it creates and would have the correct access. Worth a try anyway.

Drag and Drop, Field Arrangement.

Recently downloaded Francois' new bean for drag and drop but I think I got the wrong idea of how it works. I was hoping for a bean that can give me the ability to move physical fields on the canvas and re-arrange them as I please. Francois' applet seems like a fancy version of cut and paste...
anyone know of such functionality? I want to be able to manually arrange the field positions on the canvas and have it auto correct itself against its neighboring fields. The idea is similar to Francois' drag and drop but physically changing the fields.... chime me in on your thoughts! :) Thanks

The idea is to give clients the ability to move the fields on the form during runtime to give them a custom look and feel. The form is on a stacked canvas, so I want them to have the ability to decide which fields are most important to them when looking at the form at a glance.
What would be nicer is if I could find a way to save the settings, so when they log in the field arrangements are saved.

I use the Layout pallet to position object quite a bit. How ever I do use the arrow keys to nudge objects around the page. You might check and make sure that Snap to grid is unchecked otherwise when you use the arrow keys to move objects they will move in the increment the grid is set to. To set the grid or define grid and ruler settings and guides go to Windows -> Drawing Aids. I think snap to grid is checked by default.

I'm trying to create a mind mapping online app for thinking maps. See here for an example of thinking maps.
I want to let users create textfields during runtime and drag and drop them. I managed to do this using createTextField and eventListener.
I also want to let users insert a shape (let's say a brace) to the swf and drag them around and resize them using handlers.
Thing is:
1) I can't click and drag a shape whenever textfields are inserted into the swf. On the stage, wherever I click and drag, one of the textfields is sure to move! And the shape does not move! (I put the shape in a movie clip and tried hitTest & put a button behind it).
2) For a particular shape, I want to be able to drag and resize it. To resize, i use _height property or _xscale/_yscale. When i get to resize the shape, i cannot drag it. When I can drag it, I can't resize it.

Drag and drop parts of an image

Is there a way to display an image (such as a scanned page) and then have areas that can be dragged and dropped? For instance, suppose the scanned page has some text fields. I would like some of text fields in the scanned form to have boxes around them (perhaps a different color, perhaps marching ants) to indicate that they are fields of interest. I would like to be able to drag and drop one of those text fields onto another text field (probably on the right side of a split pane - this right panel is not a scanned image but a panel with real fields). I've seen information about dragging and dropping fields and images but not precisely this problem. Thanks for any help. I'm new to Swing and so am out of my league.

You want the user to select the area? Sure that can be done fairly simply. You want the app to automatically figure out what parts of an image are what? That's not simple at all.
Either way, it's not so much about swing as custom painting. Try checking this out:

Help needed in Drag and Drop and resizing of image icons

Hi all,
I'm doing a project on Drag and Drop and resizing of image icons.
There is one DragContainer in which i have loaded the image icons and i want to drop these image icons on to the DropContainer.
After Dropping these icons on to the DropContainer i need to resize them.
I have used the Rectangle object in resizing.
The problem now i'm facing is when i drag, drop and resize an image icon and when i try to drag, drop a second image icon the first image icon gets erased.
can any one help me in fixing this error.

Can't resize firefox so i can drag and drop to create a shortcut

I can't make my Firefox page smaller so I can drag and drop a web site to create a shortcut. I am using windows 7. I have no grippe when i point in the lower right corner. When I use zoom the page itself re sizes but not the window. I just need to see a little of my desktop so I can create a shortcut.

Could it be, you are in full-screen mode? Press F11 to check it: if you are indeed in the fulöl-screen mode, the FX window will resize and you should be able to grp the lower right corner for resizing.

Images resizing when using drag and drop

We just recently got PS Elements 7. I have a blank image that is sized at 600 x 1662 pixels. When I want to put a photo into that blank, I make sure that the photo is 600 pixels high. With 6, what I used drag and drop from the bin, the photo fit perfectly. With 7 it is apparently resizing the photo and I have to stretch it to fit. Is this something that I have set wrong? If I am making sure that both items should fit together based on number of pixels, why is one changing size? Something has to be changing size or the items would fit together. I am assuming that something is set wrong, because this just does not strike me a something that should happen, or the program is not a very efficient photo editor. If necessary I will go back to 5.0, although there are things that I like better in 7.

I'm frankly surprised you had success with this in PSE 6, since the past two versions create a special kind of smart object from images dragged up from the bin. You can use copy/paste to create a regular layer, or you can drag down to a thumbnail in the bin from an open image, but the project bin doesn't let you drag up anymore, by design.
Did you mean to say PSE 5 rather than 6? It worked normally there.

Cannot Drag and Drop a Field from Connection manager to a worksheet.

I've recently installed the latest version of SQLDEVELOPER (1.5.3) onto winxp.
I used to be able (previous version) to drag fields from the connection manager and drop onto a worksheet to save typing the field name when writing sql.
This new version currently does not allow me to do this (it lets me drag, but not drop).
I am able to drag a table object - and when I drop onto worksheet it creates a select statement with all fields.
Is this by design, or is there a setting in preferences that I'm missing, or could there be something wrong with my installation ?
Another not so good feature on this new version:
When you Right-Click a package object on the connection manager and select "Run" : a window appears with automatically generated plsql block to run the package - great. However I used to be able to copy this plsql and paste it into anything I wanted (e.g. note-pad, or another application etc), but now I am unable to use the generated code unless I use the "Save File.." button. (Copy/paste etc is not available from either "right click", Edit menu or CTRL C).
Again is this by design (I certainly used to be able to do it) or is it a problem specific to my installation.
Any pointers much appreciated.

We introduced the choice of drag and drop options in 1.5.0. Under preferences Database -> Worksheet Parameters, you can switch between the dragging on join clauses or individual statements including insert, update or delete. With this change and with the increase in code insight, we removed the ability to drag individual columns onto the worksheet. Have you tried the code insight feature in 1.5.3?
I am able to use the copy and paste from the anonymous block to the worksheet works in 1.5.3. Are your copy and paste keys working else where? Perhaps resetting these keys to default in the preferences might help.

Drag and drop an Address Book card onto a Pages address field

Whenever I "drag and drop" an Address Book card onto a Pages address field, it hangs for almost a minute before the address appears. I don't believe this is normal, does anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like you "upgraded" to Pages 5.
Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5, after Exporting your files to Pages '09, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Drag and Drop into Photoshop layer without resizing the source image

Hello,
I am using Photoshop CS5, 64bit, in Windows 7.
I went through following steps and getting result that I do not want:
1. Open an existing photopshop file.
2. From the explorer window of my folder, select 100 png files and drag into the graphics area of the open photoshop image.
Result: Photoshop resizes the png file and place it as a layer. It also asks me to commit the resizing for each individual file that I dragged and drop. Sometimes, it takes it as 100% scale, sometimes, 98%, sometimes 102%. If I change it to 100%, then it is not the original size. The image become larger and blurry.
Expected Result: Place 200 png files as separate layer of the open photopshop without resizing it.
My png files are icons that don't need resizing. I cannot tweak 200 images just to get this to the original dimension!
Other things I tried:
I turned off the "Preference->General->Resize Image During Place". I also turned off "Place or Drag Raster Images as Smart Objects".
I still get the same result. I need nothing smart here. Just let me place images without any smart stuff!
I also went to help and googled. I could not find what I need.

Page Item Drag and Drop reset all items Displayed Field attribute

If I use the Drag and Drop feature it resets all items Displayed/Field attribute to yes. Is this just the way it is and it is to bad so sad for Nicholas or is there something I can do to be able to use drag and drop and still retain my setting for the Item's Displayed/Field attribute.

Probably the easiest way would be to have 2 arrays that hold
the data being sent to box A. Just add/or subtract from one that
you don't care if it changes, and leave the other one alone. When
you want to reset, just clear Array 2 and populate it again from
Array 1. For Box B, just reset the contents of the array to nothing
- myArrayB = new Array({item1:'',item2:''})
