Dragging, and the "Control+Click"

I used to move objects with smart snap. when i needed a fine movement, i held down ctrl or ctrl+shift. the problem with Logic 8 is that ctrl+click is not the same as click+ctrl! if i do it in the first order, a menu will pop up. this is so annoying! i simply can't get used to that, and slows down work, because i have to click, then wait a bit until i can hit ctrl, plus i can't get used to it.
anyone know how to disable these ctrl+click popup menus or remap the key for that? would be so great.

ctrl+click is doing what a right mouse click does, no way to turn it off and I find the drop down menues very useful actually. What´s so difficult about first clicking and then pressing ctrl????

You mean with the same iCloud account?

Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone restarts itself. If still problems, Restore iPhone again with iTunes on computer. Open the Security pane of System Preferences and set it to require a password to unlock each secure pane. This is designed to stop people using the computer from changing the settings and won't do anything if an issue on the computer itself causes the change.

Installed snow leopard and the right click on my mouse no longer works. Any ideas?

I just replaced my hard drive and installed a clean copy snow leopard with all updates. The right mouse button (normal wired mouse that came with imac) with the menu drop down is no longer working. changed secondary button in mouse settings and got the right click menu but now when I right click the file or group of files are no longer highlighted. this *****. any ideas?? Between the hassle of replacing a hard drive, mouse problems, firefox, opera, office mac and elgato tv problems and issues im fed up.

Apple menu -> System preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse should give you controls over the mouse. If not, either Steer Mouse or USB Overdrive might give you better control.

Interactive drag and drop (right clicks)

I'm trying to create interactive training videos that utilize
right-clicks as well as right-click drag and drops. I hope i'm just
missing something. It's important for our training to include these
abilities. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you mean. Captivate does have mouseover
effects. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you mean by "mouseover
transition". Just last night I posted an example to my site in
order to ask another user if this is what was meant. Take a look at

transition".

Hmmm, I've never seen a movie that has been paused by an
interactive object just take off on its own again and simply
complete with no intervention. Are you talking about a
demonstration and not a simulation?

I DO find Captivate useful - just really frustrating when it
comes to developing interactive tutorial simulations. And what I
find most frustrating is that it's a really really good product -
but that doesn't quite do what I need it to do
Hence the rant .....
And what I meant was:
1. Right click - probably the biggest gripe. Yes, I know that
there are a few workarounds, but they all seem to require you to
start coding, or work in some situations and not others; if I'm
releasing a sim to 10000 people with varying setups I need to be
absolutely certain that it'll work.
How many applications do you know that don't use right click?
So Captivate must have full right click interactions (and by that I
mean - anything you can do with the left button you can do with the
right button).
2. Mouseover stuff. That example of yours looks pretty
impressive - not quite what I had in mind though - I really mean
transitions on mouseover to next slide, back to start of slide, to
slide x, etc etc. - example: to activate a submenu by hovering over
it, or to correctly show the change in a button's appearance when
you move your mouse over it.
I know you can do this with a rollover image - at least, you
could if it didn't crash my PC when I tried to open the image
- but that's so time consuming to have to manually
grab and overlay an image for every mouseover. So again, I really
need an 'anything you can do with a click you can do with a hover'
interaction.
3. Proper keypress interactions. I need to be able to detect
a keypress, regardless of where the mouse pointer is or where the
focus is. I know there's a partial solution involving text entry
boxes and jiggling with the shortcut key, but there are pitfalls if
the focus isn't in the text box. What I really need is an
interaction that covers the entire slide and simply detects a
keypress and gives me the same navigation options as a click.
4. Text entry handling. Yes, there's the text box
interaction, if you don't mind it not really looking like your
actual application
- but where's the pre entry text? Most apps will
squirt some default (preselected and editable) text into text boxes
- as far as I know Captivate won't - unless you klutz it using an
image - which you then can't edit.
And when you do edit the text in the box, the highlight
colours don't match system settings. And you can't get the text to
wrap properly according to the size of the text box - it sort of
scrolls horizontally. And the multiple correct answers is good, but
it won't give any leeway to spelling errors - other other sim
builders will allow you to allow, say, 6 out of 8 characters as
being enough to count as 'correct'. Oh, and there should be an
option for Captivate to monitor typing and immediately spot the
correct entry's been typed without waiting for an exit key or
click.
5. I might be about to admit I was wrong here ....
- my understanding was that you couldn't keep a
slide active for more than 3600 (?) seconds in a simulation, and
that if the slide reached its maximum time it automatically went to
the next one? Have to admit I haven't really experimented with that
side of things.
So are you saying that if you have a clickbox interaction
that moves to the next slide, and the user doesn't click it, and
you don't have a playbar, then the slide will just stay there. For
ever? If so, that does make Captivate a bit more useful to me!
Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick on that one.
I know all this may sound like minor niggles, but it's very
important to me that my sims look and behave as close as possible
to the original app as possible. I'm more relaxed about demos -
which is where I'm using Cap at the moment. In comparison to the
sim builders you get with LMS systems it looks fantastic and is
miles more intuitive - it's just that they tend to have all the
interactions I really need - and Cap doesn't.
If they can get what I've mentioned above into Cap 3 - or,
hope against hope, 2.1 - I'll be abandoning traditional sim
builders.

Drag and hover double click function isn't working

Hi people, I have been unable to click hold and drag items into folders and use the double click function when it hovers over.
It just seems to have turned itself off. I have looked at settings and everything is as it usually is. Can't seem to get it working. Didn't occur with any particular software update just stopped working.
Can anyone help get this working again?

It might be a mouse issue.
I suggest rebooting, and if that does not help, reset the PRAM

Sound Solution and the middle click on registration

Hello world! - well, Arch forum, anyway.
I've installed Arch successfully - finally - and I'm looking forward to using it. I work with multimedia, and this will be my main focus on "getting things done".
I have a few items for feed back to the maintainers of the installation page - which in itself was quite help, however I had to do a reinstall after hitting the boot section of the instruction sheet because I was missing a 1 GB partition that wasn't clearly described at the partitioning section. I know it said that this partition could be anywhere within the first TB, which in my case was anywhere on my disk, but just to keep things tidy I wanted to put this at the beginning of the partion table to avoid having to dance around it later with zfs and what not.
This first time I attempted to install Arch was about a year and a half ago. I had to give it up because no mater how hard I tried - I just couldn't get sound to work on my system.
This time, I didn't create my users for the daily drive until I had a zfs partition up and running. While I was doing this, I was also testing the system - as root of course - and I was extremely happy with the performance and that sound and video worked straight out of the box. However, when I created my users, I couldn't get sound to work for them. I booted up as root and sound worked again - then I switched to a regular user and sound worked. Rebooting and logging directly into a user account - sound did not work. I'm running an E17 set-up, and the toggle check mark to unmute the speakers/sound card was not available. Only after activating the sound system as root was I able to control sound as user afterwards.
To solve this I removed "audio" from all of the users groups - now sound can be controlled flawlessly - well as far as the users can tell. This was obviously the source of my problems with my first attempt at installing ArchLinux.
Also when registering I was asked what was the outcome of:
date -u +%V$(uname)|sha256sum|sed 's/\W//g'
I highlighted the answer from the terminal I was running, and - being the UNIX geek I am - middle cliked the answer into the answer field. Unfortuntately, the answer was wrong. After several attempts -double checking my work all the way through - the answer was always wrong. But then I right clicked the long answer and pasted this into the field then the answer was accepted.
I beg your pardon for mixing a few elements into the post - but I hope this also helps new users to Arch.

I was downloading music to my iTunes account and playing music from my I tunes library when all of the sudden it stopped playing and the control panel won't let me restart the music.....why

I was downloading music cd from my PC to my I tunes library and playing music on the I tunes player at the same time when all of the sudden my music stop playing and I can't get the I tunes player to restart playing music from my library again. The I tunes equalizer / player box with timer shows the song ready to play but the controls won't restart the song.......why not, and how to I get it to restart playing my library?

- You need to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and start anew. Is the restore button visable in iTunes? If it is they restore the iPod.
- If it is not visible try resetting the iPod:

Since upgrading to 4.3.3 my iphone 3gs does not ring when receiving a call and the keyboard clicks have gone.

Drag and Drop Control Not Working - IE 11

A user with MS Office 2013 properly installed/configured and 32-bit Internet Explorer, is getting an "x" in place of drag & drop control while uploading files to SharePoint document library. What could be the problem?
Any pointers?

User is using Internet Explorer 11. I have attached all the relevant screenshots. I also asked him to check the following settings and attached is a response:

Dragging and the Finder folder

Issue 1: Up until day before yesterday, I was able to drag documents and folders from one place to another. I don't know what happened, but I can't anymore. How do I fix this problem?
Issue 2: I used to be able to click the finder and a window would open. Now I have to right click and select open new finder window. How do I fix this?
