Dragging from tool box

I am working on a CS2 Mac OS X. When I go into the tools and drag a ellipse I was able to drag it the first time with no problem but after that when I try to repeat the dragging it would not allow me to do so . I have tried a new file and I have closed down the program. I do not release the mouse I do not see the object being dragged I have to release the mouse the click again which brings up my option box except the setting or in the case of ellipse I have to change the setting to make it an oval shape because the setting are set for a circle. I also try drag the polygon in an exercise that has us bring it to the art board and use the up and down arrow to choose the number of sides to make it a triangle but because I can not drag the object I cannot preform this task & the object I had put on the before move up and down on the artboard instead. Is there a magic solution. I went in to help & tried clicking on the tool longer, enable the Smart Guides & snap to point too. I feel I need to solve problem before I go on trying to learn the program . I had problems with the spiral. . So I think it will give me difficulties with other exercises I am doing that requires dragging only and not using the option button. Thank you for your time and help.

I think you miss understand how the tool works. Just click on the ellipse icon in the tool palette then click-and-drag anywhere in the document to draw an elipse. Or you can click once then type in the size of ellipse you want. To adjust the number of sides to a polygon, click the polygon tool, click and drag in the document and while the mouse is still down, type the up or down arrow to change the number of sides.

No Sound, using Mute from Tool Box in MIDI

Hi Guys/Gals,
I was editing a MIDI track in the the Matrix editor last night. I had the mute tool selected from the tool box and was muting several notes. I was trying to work too quickly - because I must have hit something ... something global?
I couldn't hear anything at all from the track - even those notes which were not muted.
I took the track out of solo mode - and couldn't hear any of the other tracks either!
I've tried the usual suspects:
Audio/MIDI set up ... all fine.
System Preferences, Sound ... all fine.
Core Audio looked fine, disable and enabled to reboot core audio.
Nothing still.
Then closed session and rebooted session ... still no sound. Closed session, powered down, hard rebooted system ... re loaded session, still no sound.
Here's where it's even weirder. I closed and opened other sessions that were all running fine. No sound there either.
All the meters are lighting up fine ... Logic is crunching all of the audio ... I can see it.
Any thoughts or ideas on where to look?

There are a couple of possible problems here. First, if you haven't already, try another set of headphones in the headphone jack just to eliminate the possibility of the problem being with the headphones.
The next thing to check is going to be the ribbon cable running from the card to the dri've. Make sure this cable is connected and is all the way down. Since the speakers are switching off, this is less likely to be the problem but it should be checked anyway.
If you are using a /4'' to /8'' adaptor, try another one just to eliminate that from the possibilities. Also check to make sure that the headphone volume knob is turned up and that when you turn the knob that the potentiometer is turning.
After all that you already have tried, if the headphones still aren't working after this then most likely you will need to get your platinum dri've repaired. To arrange this you will want to contact support. Their contact information is here:

Crop Tool Disappeared from Tool Box

How can I resotre the Crop Tool Icon to the Tool Box? It suddenly disappeared but is still in the Enhance Menu

I would assume you're using PSE 10 or earlier. Just look for the recompose tool, since it shares the toolbox slot with the crop tool. Right-click it or click hold and you should see the crop tool.
In PSE 11, the crop tool is always the top left of the Modify section of the toolbox.

Does anybody know how to make a selection in Photoshop Elements 13 without having the width / height box drag from the cursor?

I've recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 10 to Photoshop Elements 13 and the selection tool dragging this little box behind it whenever I make a selection or move a selection is highly irritating. I tried to google for how to not have it shown and I read all the descriptions in the manual about selections, I found nothing.
The following image is what I mean. I want to get rid of the box that says W: 98 px H: 69 px, is there any way to do that? I know I could get used to it but if there is any way to not have it, I would love to know about it.

I have encountered this same problem.
The only fix, and an unstable one at that, is to alternately pan the screen and then drag the text box such that as it moves to scroll off the screen it remains on the page.
The reason this becomes unstable is that at higher zoom levels selecting this text box may also cause it to disappear completely from the page. At this point one has to zoom out find it and attempt to repeat this frustrating maneuver.
In my experience this effect extends to changing pages and alternating levels of zoom.

Keep tapping the B key and it should reappear, or click-hold/right-click on whatever tool is currently visible right below the eraser.

Move from one text box to another w/o using tool box

I'm constantly needing to move from one editable text box to another editable text box -- or to a vector graphic and back to a text box. I'd love a keyboard shortcut to move around if there is one. Having to constantly click the cursor in the tool box to activate a text box is so tiresome.

As I (mis)understand it, from other tools to the Type Tool, you can just press the T key.
Unfortunately, you cannot press the relevant other key with any kind of Type object selected because that will just add that letter somewhere.
You can see the keystrokes for the different tools when you hover over them.

Star tool is dragging from the inner radius

I wonder if anyone else has this problem. I'am using illustrator CC but while using the star tool, instead of being drawn while being dragged by the tip or the outer radius, my star is getting dragged from the inner radius. The problem does not occur when dragging while holding the alt key.

That's just the way they built the star tool. The polygon and flare tools work the same way: from center outward. It might have to do with a geometric efficiency where the shape can more easily be defined from the center (not sure about that).
On Mac, holding down option (Mac's alt) doesn't change this. Does alt really make a star draw from the outside inward on PC?
For rectangle and ellipse, option/alt allows shapes to be built from the center, but their default is outside-in.

Why can't I adjust the scale of my text by clicking and dragging the corner boxes? Why I have the text selected, all it does it let me highlight it to change font, size, etc, OR all I can do is move it throughout the artboard. Why can I click and drag the corner box to adjust?

It's because you have a paragraph text box and it doesn't automatically resize text. This way you can change the margins of the text without resizing it which is how paragraph text functions by default.
I'm not seeing the new text paragraph/area indicator on your text box, which is what you get in Illustrator CC, so the only way to convert this text so you can resize it by dragging on the corners is to copy the text, deselect the text box, use the text tool to click once in another part of your document, and then paste the text. The text will then come into your document as one long line if you don't have hard returns in it, but after reflowing the text manually you'll be able to drag the corners to resize the text.
I would recommend not going this route as any text you remove from the area type means that the rest of the text has to be manually adjusted to maintain correct margins. Instead just resize the bounds of the paragraph text and adjust the size of the font in the Character panel.

I hope u had gone to the screen fields which u want them not to be editable. So there u select all the fields contents which u do not want to to be changed and check the boxes with W.content and Display and save it. Once evrything is done u have to activate the particular transcation going in to the standard variants and put the name and click the activate button.

How To Test Idoc To File Scenario in ID From Tools- Test Configuration

Hi All,
Can any body help me in step by step process including screenshots for testing Idoc to file scenario in integration directory from tools->test configuration.
My scenario is passing the PO Idoc data from R/3 into a file using XI.
i have processed the idoc from R/3 and now i went to sxmb_moni in XI system and took the payload xml data.
In ID I have navigated to test configuration from tools then i have provided the following information.
Sender Service : Business system of R/3 b'coz here R/3 is the sender.
Sender Interface : ORDERS.ORDERS6
Receiver Service : Business system of XI b'coz here XI receives the data and         places it into a file
In payload text box i have copied the xml code which i have taken from sxmb_moni and clicked the run button. then i got the following error:
Sender Agreement
Internal Error
                 HTTP connection to ABAP Runtime failed.
                 Error: 403 Forbidden
                 URL: http://bxdci.boewe.custservice.de:8093/sap/xi/simulation?sap-client=100
                 User: PIDIRUSER
Kindly look into it and correct me if iam wrong or is there any other way to test this scenario in ID please suggest.

Specify the test confisuration as follows.
<b>Sender</b>
Service   : Business System of SAP R/3 System
Interface : The outbound message interface name of type the IDOC.
Namespace : will automatically loaded when u select the Interface. Check if it the correct namespace.
<b>Receiver:</b>
Service : Business System name for the Fle system.
Paste the payload that u copied from the sxmb_moni.
Now click on Run and test ur Scenario.
Was the scenario sucessfull in the Message Monitor.

If I understand correctly, you want to use image as a container, then we can write something on the image. In this scenario, we can drag a rectangle in the design surface, add the image as the BackgroundImage of the rectangle. Then insert a textbox with
some custom text to the rectangle. After this, we had simulated the image container to achieve your requirement.

Using functions from Combo Box 'Others:'

I am trying to use function DENSE_RANK in OWB 9.0.3.33.0. Unfortunately I can not find properly aropriate object form tool box palette. I tried to use JOIN, FILTER, EXPRESSION. Mostly I get error: PL/SQL: ORA-30483: window functions are not properly here.
I am trying to numerate my records in a set. In SQL I can write clause:

I looked at documentation and I saw that DENSE_RANK is in the list aggregate functions. I mean You want to tell me that version of DENSE_RANK what I use is wrong but my question is about OWB.
In window "Expression Builder" You can use some of functions. If You add to mapping JOIN object in Expression Builder window You can write join condition. In combo box list called "Others", there is DENSE_RANK in the list. After You select this and paste to window OWB generate code like:
DENSE_RANK() OVER (
[PARTITION BY <value expression1> [, ...]]
ORDER BY <value expression2> [collate clause] ASC
[NULLS FIRST|NULLS LAST] [, ...] )
I am confused.
I still do not know what OWB object I can use to get "My level" pseudo column.

Mf tool box 4.9 freezes on install win 7 64bit

I installed the software using the provided disc about a month ago. Running mf4770 laser printer. I moved and can not find the disc. The reason why I tried reinstalling the software was I got an error message in another language. I uninstalled using the drivers from the canon website. I unplugged the printer. Reinstalled drivers after uninstall then tried to reinstal tool box. 4.9. I get a box saing processing installation and it freezes. The whole progress bar is empty. I would try the disc but I cant find it. This is really frustration. The printer works fine. The scan did work until somewhow the error message for scan was changed. I have searched online and I only see problems with win 8 and toolbox 4.9. Any help with reinstalling this software?

We're glad to hear that you were able to resolve the scanning issue.
Please note that the imageCLASS machines are designed so that you will need to select a scanning option at the machine. There is no way to set a default scan option on this machine. You will need to select [Remote Scanner] or [Computer]. This is to ensure that your device handles the scan project properly.
Although an extra step to perform, a benefit of selecting the desired mode for a respective scan can ensure that a scanner miscommunication does not occur if it were programmed to a different mode.
