Dragging multiple projects - possible?

I just imported my iPhoto library to Aperture 1.1 and I want to drag bunches of the projects created from iPhoto film rolls into a new folder structure (based on years and months).
Is it possible to select multiple projects and drag them to a new location? It doesn't appear so, but I'm wondering if I've missed a keystroke trick. I'd rather not drag them one-by-one.
Thanks,
Fraser

You can do this with the make multi-camera source sequence command in Premiere Pro CS6 (note that this was posted before CS6 was launched):
Mark the clips
Select the clips
Choose Clip > Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence
Choose the style of synchronization and click OK
Right click on Multi-Camera source sequence and choose > Open in Timeline.
Clips are now stacked up inside of a sequence

  • Is multiple project export possible ?

it would be nice to be able to set multiple projects up for Media Browser Export !
perhaps an apple script or an automator script .
i have a couple projects ready to render in Large and Medium size !
but its time consuming and it is a waist of time to do them at one time.. i set one up it takes about an hour.
i would love to be able to set up let say 4 projects to export in medium and large size overnight so when i get up i have them all ready for iDVD instead i have to spend more time during a day to export them one at the time ( i'm not in front of my computer all the time )
anybody has some hints or could build a nice Automator for it ?

    Hi f
    Just as Karsten writes.
    a. You need an external hard disk:
    • HAS TO BE - formatted as Mac OS Extended - NOT AS - UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange
    • Should be a FireWire one - USB/USB2 performs badly
    b. You keep Your program on Your internal (start-up) hard disk and store Your
movie project (icon with a Star on it) on the external one.
    c. less than 10Gb free space on the internal (start-up) hard disk often gives
problems of many kinds. I try to free up 25Gb to be able to work confortably.

  • Combining multiple projects into one larger project?

If I have multiple separate projects and now want to combine them, edits, titles and all into a larger project, is it possible? I expected that it might be possible to drag one project into another and place it intact onto the timeline for the new project. Since every combination of dragging a project around has evidently failed to accomplish what I'm expecting... is there a way to do this?

welcome phiphika to the  board…
in terms of convenience, I would indeed export/share all 6 movies.
    to tape, or as Quicktime/FullQuality…
both methods create a lossless copy of your final movie(s).
in step II, import all 6 project into a new iM project, as said above, you don't loose ay quality with that back'n forth copying... only some time ;-)… you can set then chapter markers etc....
besides, your workflow is as mine on larger projects: not 678 clips into one monstrous project of some dozends Gigabytes, just segments…

  • How do you purchase multiple projects?

How do you purchase multiple projects in iPhoto? I am trying to buy a calendar and 4 different books that I created on iPhoto. WHen I click the buy button it takes me to a purchasing page, but I can't figure out how to get other projects. There isn't a "shopping cart" that I can find. I'd like to pay just 1 shipping fee. Is this possible?

You can't combine those into one order.

  • What is the concept of multiple projects

    Hi All,
We have multiple development projects and support as well. Now my problem is say in Project1 we are working on OBJECT1, simultaneously the support team is also working on the same object (which is unknown to us). Now while transporting OBJECT1 as part of Project1 it has a dependent objects of support team, thus resulting in transportation errors and object conflicts. From SAP help I read about the concept of using multiple project assignment in transportation. Can anyone clearly explain what is multiple project concept in terms of transportation.
One most important thing I would like to know is how, whilst transportation how SAP is identifying the missing object. For example I am trying to transport a request number, but while transporting it has given an error something like object 'XXXX' is missing. Now my question is how SAP is identifying that object 'XXXX' is missing?
I would really appreciate any useful information.
    Thanks,
    Venkat

Multiple projects in terms of transportation should make it possible to have a better overview of your transports. This way, a transport request can be assigned to a certain project, making it easier for logging purposes.
During import of the transport request, a check is done on the database (for example if a data element is available) to find out if a certain object is available or not. If not, an error is generated.
So it would be wise, before releasing the transport, to check if all objects you are using are part of another transport as well and if these transports have already been imported before your transport. Check all possible dependencies. It would be better though, to check this before making use of objects which you haven't created yourself in your development objects.

  • Multiple projects, multiple lists on Share Point

Hi, I am hoping someone can provide me guidance here.
I am trying to create a project list on SharePoint that shows the Gantt Chart of the task duration. However, there are multiple projects with the same tasks which I would like to capture. For example: Project A has task 1, task 2, .... task 20; Project B
has the same tasks 1, 2... and 20. These tasks and projects are being worked on by different individuals.
What I would like to capture is the duration of each tasks for these projects in one list on Share Point. Is it possible?
any response would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance for your time.

Making this more complex adds potential rendering difficulty down the line.
One list is indeed better and can be managed more easily. you'll be able to present different views of the data on different web part pages if needed, along with additional metadata,

  • How to Select Multiple Projects?

Another: "Wait a sec -- you mean Aperture still can't...?" question...
So I'm in the Inspector's Projects tab. I've just created and named a new sub-folder, into which I want to drag several dozen projects. I've tried Cmd-clicking; I've tried Shift-clicking. But so far I only seem to be able to select (and then drag) one Project at a time.
Does this mean, in the above scenario, I have to select, drag, and drop each of my 47 (or however many) Projects into that new sub-folder separately -- one at a time?
Please tell me there's a way to select multiple Projects (and multiple Folders for that matter) in order to do some quick re-organizing/re-arranging in the Inspector. Or is this going to be yet another should've-been-there-in-the-Beta-version Feature Request?
    Thanks,

I'm also frustrated by not being able to select multiple projects. I guess we should leave feedback.

  • Images in Multiple Projects

I want to use some images in more than one project. If I put them in the first project along with all my other images, they can all be seen from the project folder. If I then put them in another project, I can put them in a folder, but not in the project file itself. In order to do that, Aperture says it will move the masters to the new project. This then prevents me from seeing them in the first project file. In both projects, I want to be able to see all the files that are in each project directly.
I hope this makes sense. I will appreciate any help in making this work.
    Thanks -
    Dudley Warner

Thanks for answering my question. It seems intuitive that you should be able to have images in multiple projects so that you can open the project and see all the images you are working with. If that is not possible in Aperture, I'm sure I can just work with albums.
The functional ability I really want is to be able to have smart albums in each project that pull their content from all the other albums that are in the project. I realize now that I can accomplish this by using albums rather than projects.

  • Moving Ref Images in Multiple projects

Does anyone know if its possible to batch move multiple projects of referenced images in one library. I am moving to a bigger external drive and don't want to have to go in to each project and repoint it to the new referenced file location.

    Yes,
Just use any view where you can see the images - even a search based on whatever criteria you want, select them all and use file->relocate. The subfolder options will even let you restructure them in various subfolder formats based on date, project name, whatever.
    Or...
Just move them outside of Aperture and use file->locate to reconnect them. Personally I would choose option one.
I have a bunch of stuff here on various Aperture topics

  • Topics in multiple projects in RoboHelp 8 are getting crossed over

I have multiple projects I imported/upgraded into RoboHelp 8.  Initially when in each project, all topics are correct.  But after importing second and subsequent projects, when I go back to the first project, it shows the topics from the last project??  What's going on?  I've tried searching to see if this has happened to others, but do not see anything of the like... Any help would be appreciated...

    Hi all
Perhaps it will help if we take a moment to understand a bit of the evolution of RoboHelp.
Pull your chairs a bit closer and I'll tell you a story. In earlier years RoboHelp projects were managed by the .MPJ file. Because the MPJ file kept track of all project aspects, it was possible to store as many different projects as you like in the same main folder. This was nice from the aspect of sharing content. You could set things up so that you had common topics and images across multiple projects. If any of them changed, you changed them in any project and they changed for ALL projects using them. Of course this meant you had to recompile or re-generate each project if they changed, but the change actually only occurred once.
Now along comes X5 with a new file structure. XML format. This meant some changes. Unfortunately some changes that effectively blew this manner of working totally out of the water. You may wonder why. Well, it's because while each project is mostly unique, some of the underlying files are rather generically named. For example, you have the ProjectName.XPJ, which is specific to each project, but that XPJ references generic files with APJ (Anaheim ProJect) file extensions. Files such as rhskins.apj, rjsnippet.apj and so on.
My guess as to what has happened here is that with only one instance of these files able to be in a single folder, whoever saved last wins.
What you have ahead of you is the following task.
You need to split the projects into separate folders so that each project is in its own folder.
    THEN you upgrade each project.
You should probably begin by restoring from the backup you made prior to attempting the upgrade.
You, ummm, DID make one, didn't you?
    Cheers all... Rick

  • Same photo in multiple projects?

Hi there. New Aperture user here so hope this isn't a stupid question. I was wondering if it's possible to have the same photo in multiple Projects? My understanding is that all photos are stored in my Aperture Library but the photos in the Projects are really just links to the photos in the Aperture Library. Is that correct?
I would like to have certain photos in multiple Projects, if possible. Thank you.
    -Keith

Thanks William. Here is a broader question/issue then.
Right now I have 20+ Projects in the AL. Then I have multiple .Mac Web Galleries based off of certain Projects.
Should I create one "Master" Project, and then create 20+ Albums under that Master Project? It seems like that is what I was going for when I created multiple Projects in the first place. Albums are just links to the photo in the Project, correct?
If I do that, will I have to re-do my .Mac Web Galleries (since they are linked to those Projects, right)?
Also, not quite sure I understand your last reply regarding copying the Album? Sorry.

  • Multiple Project Scheduling for the project at a same time

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to schedule multiple projects together at a same time. As my client is having more than 5 customer project running all together and he wants to schedule all the projects together so that there is no dates overlapping for similar activities for multiple project. As the activities are dependent on labour and machine and at one particular time the resource could be devoted either on one activity of the project.
I look forward for your revert
    Thanks and Regards
    Simon

    Hi
One more thing, when i am changing the dates of the activity due to delay from customer end, then where can i see the comparison of old dates and new dates.. though i can see the report in CJ29 but when i change the date in the activity then in the report it shows new date in the new and old date column and does not display the old date in report in the old date column..
Please let me know if i need to do any configuration for that

  • Re-allocating Actual Costs and Actual Work from one project to multiple projects

My company would like to track costs in one project and then re-allocate those costs to multiple projects.  Example: An end user would submit a timesheet against a task named 'Analysis' for Project A.  Once accepted and published, the
costs for those hours would be subtracted from Project A and 60% of those costs would be transferred to the 'Analysis' task for Project X and 40% of the costs for those hours would be transferred to Project Y.
We believe we can accomplish this through reporting, but before we go this route, we wanted to make sure there was not a logical, supported way in MS Project Server to complete these actions.  Could a script be developed to accomplish this?
    Thank you!
    Tasha

Out of the box Project and Project Server do not support this. However with VBA anything is possible. You could also use PSI to work directly with project data in teh Server db but that would take much longer to develop. Check you can do what you want
in VBA then you can use the result to spec the server version afterwards.

  • Best way to save a vi that is used in multiple projects?

      Hello,
I have an archive of vi's that I use in multiple projects.  As an example, I store all my vi's in a folder called 'Archive'.  When I start a new project, I make a new directory, say 'Proj A', and then I drag copies of the original vi's from 'Archive'  into 'Proj A'.  When I launch Proj A, labview always loads the files from their original location ('Archive') instead of 'Proj A'.
Is there a better or more proper way?  I heard LV8.0 may take care of this issue.
    Thanks,
    Tony.
P.S.  I apologize for posting two blank threads a few minutes back.  Can't figure out how to delete them.

User.lib as mentioned by the others is the way to go if you have no issues reagarding sharing the contents of user.lib across multiple machines. The complications I have seen with this is that if I move an application to my customer's machine and some of the VI's were stored in user.lib the application will not find them unless I thought ahead and pulled out the parts the app needs. I also do not want to give away my entire re-use library everytime I include one of the containded functions.
If you just want to pull out elements from your collection then templates can be of some use.
If you need to selectively pull out parts of your archieve for use when required, then a "Tree.VI" can help. A Tree.VI is a VI that contains all of the top level and dynamixally loaded VI's used by the function to operate correctly. By opening the Tree.VI and doing a "Save with options"... single prompt preserve hiarchy... the requred VI's are copied to the new location and saved with the relative paths adjusted to point at the new location. This takes care of the cross linking issues.
