Dragging photos from media tab in iMovie 6 disapear from timeline.

Hi guys
Ever since i upgraded to Leopard, i now can not drag and drop photos into the Tim line of iMovie 6HD., they seem to automatically delete themselves.
I drag them from the iMovie media window, i see them converting into the time line but they turn blue as if i selected them and disappear.
Anyone have a clue wo thy please do advise on this one ;(

I teach iMovie at a local community college. My students are having a similiar, if not the same problem. When we try to drag or import still images into iMovie HD6, some images will appear to import, but when they finish, they become blank clips. They are not PICT files, we checked that. They are all .jpgs, some taken from the Internet and some from digital cameras. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why they don't import correctly. It is happening on multiple machines, not just one machine. If you go in and turn off the Ken Burns effect, they load fine. But if you go back and turn it on for the clip, it turns it blank again. Anyone got a clue what this is. I have searched everywhere for an answer and have not found one. BTW...we're still using Tiger.

IPhoto - Can no longer drag photos from Library to created Albums..

Up until last week I had no problem dragging photos from my Library to Albums I'd created on the right side. All of a sudden I can no longer drag photos and have to put photos in Albums by clicking on desired photos and creating Album with + button on bottom right corner. Why doesn't it let me drag photos anymore??

I can't tell you why this is happening but I can offer up a possible solution. Sometimes the preference folders associated with applications become corrupted. Here's how to fix that. Locate this file and drag it to the Trash: com.apple.iPhoto.plist It's here: /Home/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder and drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Launch iPhoto and see if you can drag photos from the Library to an album ... Don't worry... your Mac will create a new preference file for you.

Because you have a problem and you need to fix it
with no information except it does not work no one can give any more help than that - remember that we are jsut users like yourself and know nothing except what you tell us - which in this case was nothing except it does not work
Some details like the OS version, version of iPhoto, what does happen and what does not ahppen, any recent changes, ect would at least give someone a chance to try to assist you

Problem importing photos after the new Photos update: When I drag photos from my desktop, why don't they don't replace the previously imported photos in "Last Import".

When I drag photos from my desktop to the new Photos icon, they don't replace the previously imported photos in "Last Import".

After several attempts, I now find that this is working for me. I wasn't able to open the IMPORT folder in Photos until I clicked on "Close" from File Menu. Once I was able to open the IMPORT folder and select the photos for import, the new photos appeared in "Last Import."

Dragging photos from iPhoto to the Desktop

Hi Folks, can anyone help?
When I drag photos from iPhoto to the desktop, a plus sign appears on the dragged image and a copy is created on the desktop. That's fine and that's how it should work.
I have 1 roll (out of some 300) with some 200 photos where this does not work. Currently, I am not in a position to move a copy from that roll in iPhoto to the desktop.
Any idea where the issue is?

Are you getting an error message that says something to the effect that one of the files are busy? If so this is usually due to the original files sharing the same file title in the Finder. An easy way to get around this is to use the export feature of iPhoto and choose "use album name" It is something like this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iPhoto/6.0/en/hlp215.html Try exporting them to a folder that you create on your desktop. If you use the export feature iPhoto can rename the files so they don't share the same title.

Dragging Photos from iPhoto

In prior verisons of iPhoto (using '08) and Final Cut Pro (using 6.0) I was able to drag photos from iPhoto, and drop them on the timeline and they would appear in the same order as they are shown in iPhoto..now, it looks like it is placing them in so random order...any ideas?

Simply select the photo or photos you wish to add to photo stream from the album you are viewing and drag them onto the photo stream listing under the 'recent' heading on the left-hand side of iPhoto when you see a blue box surrounding the listing drop the photos you have dragged.
Alternatively, select the photos and use the 'share' button in the bottom right corner of iPhoto and choose photo stream from the list that appears.

I am trying to import old photos for my daughter's senior video and senior yearbook page. I don't want to create a lot of new "events" in iPhoto.

Drag them from the CD to a folder on the Desktop. Then you can drag that folder into the open iPhoto window onto the Albums title in the left hand pane. That will create an single Event and album with the same name as the folder. If you don't want the album just drag the folder anywhere into the open iPhoto window except the left hand pane.

Dragging photos from iPhoto, keep sound from video

Hi everybody
I experience trouble when trying to insert a photo from iPhoto. I want to have the sound from the video clip running, while the "live video-image" change to a "still-photo". Does that make sense?
I succeeded once, by highlighting a part of the video clip and dragging from the iPhoto window (down right) into the highlighted part (with a yellow frame). Everything works perfect, and I can see the inserted photo as a blue box upon the video.
I can't do it again with a new still-photo, and I am pretty sure I does the same thing (I probably don't). I would appriciate any suggestions.

I experience trouble when trying to insert a photo from iPhoto. I want to have the sound from the video clip running, while the "live video-image" change to a "still-photo".
There is probably more than one way to do this but I use the following work flow to maximized ease and control:
1) Bring your clip into the "project" window as normal for editing.
2) Mouse-click the background to deselect all clips in window.
3) Select the segment you wish to replace and adjust as needed for photo duration plus transitions.
4) Use the "Split" Edit option to divide the main clip segment into three smaller segments.
5) Drag 'n Drop the photo you want to the center of the middle sub-segment to replace the video content and automatically add a cross dissolve transition while retaining the audio content.

Can't drag photos from previous import to a folder in lightroom

after uploading photos into lightroom, I can't drag them from 'previous import' to another folder in Lightroom. Anyone else experience this?

Problem with dragging photos from Photo Booth to Skype

Hi guys
I am new to Apple world.For a month now i got my shiny new iMac 21 inch Intel Core Duo comp.I love it an d all the new things i discover at Mac OS X.But after the first update i made some of the programs get weird :)) First had to reinstall the Flash Player because of Safari problems..and so on.But lately i found that can`t drag pictures from Photo Booth to Skype any more.It was easy before,now it is not working.can you tell me where to search and what to do?? I checked Skype preferences,it is all allowed

..i was searching the forums and empty some of the files of the Photo Booth appl,but still same thing.The funny thing is if i drag the picture to the desctop,it stays.But in Skype now shows some address,where to find the shot taken..And it was not like this before??

Click on the preview photo to select it... right click and drag and drop it to the desktop or folder. (Don't click on the photo to open it...)

Cant drag photos from my iPhoto library to the body of mac mail.

I used to be able to drag photos to the body of my email and now I get a dotted rectangle with a arrow pointing down saying MAIL ATTACHMENT and if I touch it with my cursor I get a Error saying I cant download the attachment?
What is going on...

export the photo to the desktop and then attach it to the E-mail.
That's the way I used to do it also, but I just checked and I can drag a photo directly from iPhoto, or from the "Photo Browser" in Mail directly onto a new message. I get the green circle with a white + sign and the photo get's attached to the message.
I was surprised and pleased to see it work this way so easily.
