Draw signature box for a tablet computer

I work for a public library and Acrobat is not my area of expertise so I need some help please!
We have a PDF form for a lease agreement for a meeting room space. Using a tablet computer, we go over the lease with the renters and then sign it in person
I need a signature box that just has a way to draw the signature. Right now I have to go through about 4 clicks to get that box, sign it, and then place the signature. I need a 1 click/tap solution that pulls up that draw signature screen and places it back in the existing box or field.
I have tried using a text box with a javascript but am not getting anywhere.
Thank you!

  • Acrobat 11 crashing after drawing signature box

I have a user that is using Acrobat Professional 11 and it has worked flawlessely for quite awhile.  But recently when he goes to try to sign the document it allows him to draw the signature box but as soon as he releases the mouse Acrobat crashes and immediately closes.  If he goes into the Signature section of preferences and changes it between DKC #7 and CAdES it works for that instance, but the next time he opens a document he has to repeat the process otherwise it crashes again.
    Version 11.4
    Anyone have any thoughts?

  • Cannot draw signature box in Acrobat XI

When we try to sign a PDF using Acrobat XI Standard we get the popup box below telling us to create a box for the signature to appear in. The problem here is that is exactly what we are trying to do when this box comes up. We click the signature tool and get the cross-hairs cursor...as soon as we click to hold in the document this box appears and doesn't give us a chance to drag an create the box.
We have verified the digial ID to sign with is installed correctly.
    Please see the screenshot below:
    Thanks for any help,
    Anthony

In Acrobat XI you go to Sign->I Need to Sign->Place Signature. Then in the "Place Signature" dialog you select "Use image" and browse to your JPG file. Acrobat XI will remember your JPG signature file for the next time you sign. Yoo can clear the saved signature and select another one if you want.

  • Default gutter width for drawing text boxes for overset text

I have master pages that were created with columns and the correct gutter width we want. When I drag a story from a window (a window that is part of our CMS) and place it on the page, the gutters between the text columns are correct -- p9 (or 0.125 inches). But if I draw a new text box or if I click the red plus to draw a text box for overset text, the gutter is a full pica (or 0.1667 inches).
I want any text box that is drawn on the page or any overset text box that is drawn to default to p9 for gutters.
I don't want to manually change the gutter for every new text box I draw.
    I'm using ID with CS4.
    Thank you.

The default gutter in a multi-column frame is set in the object style under Text Frame General Options. If you haven't defined any new styles you only need to edit the [Basic Text Frame] style. New frames will use the new gutter value when you add columns. If you have object styles for other text frames, you'll need to edit those, too. For existing frames, if the number of columns has been changed manually, you will need to reset the gutter.

  • Dynamic Signature Boxes

We have an XML message with a varying number of customers that will need to sign a document.<br /><br />We need to place the name from the XML under the signature box and allow them to sign via a signature pad.<br /><br />We're struggling with the fact that we don't know how many signatures will be required until we read the XML, and how we can make the form dynamic in that regard.<br /><br />Is it possible to script something that reads the customer records and  creates / displays a signature box for each at that time?  Or do we need to have a pool of signature boxes (or subforms of some sort) to pull from and display based on the data?<br /><br />An example of what we might see is this:<br />   <Customer Name>Bob Smith</Customer Name><br />   <Customer Role>Primary Applicant</Customer Role><br />   <Customer Name>Betty Smith</Customer Name><br />   <Customer Role>Co-Applicant</Customer Role><br />   ...<br />   ...<br /><br />We've not been able to solve this - any direction on this would be appreciated.<br /><br />We are using LiveCycle Designer 8.2.<br /><br />Thanks!

A signature cannot be part of the dynamic subform. So you could modify the line after the signature but you cannot dynamically create a signature field.
Can you have a separate signature page with a number of signatures on it where you could hide and show the subform as neccessary. This would limit you to a specific number of signatures that could fit on a page, but you would be able to read the XML and show the correct number of signatures then modify the Text following the signature field. Is this acceptable?

  • Add multiple signature boxes acrobat pro

How do I add a second signature box for an additional signer in Acrobat Pro?

Probably the best way is to go into form editing mode:
    Acrobat 11: Tools > Forms > Edit
select the digital signature field tool, and add as many digital signature fields as are needed.

When I plug in my iPhone to my iMac my computer flashes a box that says my USB device is drawing too much power from my computer and claims one or more of my devices have been disabled.  Then it will not sync my iPhone 5.  Any solution ideas?

Try unplugging any other USB devices. If you are using a hub, don't, connect the phone directly to a computer USB port.
None of these are necessarily things you should do, but might help. For instance, if you plug the phone to an already busy hub, the phone might be "the straw that broke the camel's back" and lock out the hub.

  • HT1338 Does anyone have a fix for the error message "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer one or more of your USB devices have been disabled" - this is a brand new machine with nothing connected to the USB ports - i've done u

    Hi
does anyone know how to fix the message on my iMac:
"Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled."
This is a brand new machine and did not have anything attached to the USB ports"
    Thanks for any help

If you are getting that message on a brand new Mac with nothing connected to the USB ports, take it back. It is broken.

Looking to create editable PDF forms with drop downs and text boxes for use on a Mac computer and iPad. Which product do I need to purchase? Do not need anything fancy

Basically you would need Acrobat. However, it is now also possible to create basic form fields using just the free Reader. In fact, I've been working on a tool that allows you to do it, so if you're interested in it please contact me privately.

  • Everytime i plug in my USB for my android, i get the message that the device is drawing too much power from my computer.  i just want to download my pics.

Everytime I plug in my android USB, I get a message that states the USB device is drawing too much power from my computer.  The only other USB device connected to computer is my printer.  Even when I disconnected the printer, I was still unable to use the android.  When i use a non-android USB to say charge my phone, it will charge it, but it won't recognize any of my android data.  What gives?

I'm going to guess that you are plugging into either the USB port on your keyboard or an unpowered hub. USB has two both low power and high power port specifications that determine how much electricity the port can supply to a device. The ports on back of your iMac are high power, the keyboard ports are low power. If you have an unpowered hub it has to 'share' power with all the devices you plug into so it too would have low power ports.

  • Can't get Draw Signature to work

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and I have created a pdf for a test for the signature.  I go to Sign, Place Signature, Draw Signature and the drawing box opens.  I have tried using my finger and two different stylus and the only little bits (at best) of the signature are recognized.  Often times I just get dots.  On occasion, part of a letter is drawn, but never the full signature. I have tried it on two different computers and have the same results on both. Help please!
    Alan

Do you have a touch screen where you try to draw a signature? Which OS/Monitor? I do not have a touch screen, so I cannot try it myself. Perhaps you can draw your signature in a different app, create a JPG file (possibly password protected for security) and then apply it as your signature in Acrobat.

  • Signature image for outlook

I am trying to create a signature image for outlook but the image is loosing sharpness when the mail is delivered. What is the ideal work flow to create a signature image?

My workflow would be as follows, as I tested it and found the most satisfying for creating signatures for emails:
Preferably use a graphic tablet and a stylus to create a hand signature
In Illustrator create a regular A4/Letter document
Use the Brush tool: Caligraphic Brush, e.g. 5pt Oval
    Draw a large, comfortable signature
Turn on Window>Pixel View and adjust the size of the signature for your final output. After scaling down the path, the 5pt brush might be too large, you can either pick smaller brush 3pt or manipulate with the path/stroke size. Keep it a bit thicker rather than thinner, it will look nicer.
Save for web: GIF, Grayscale, Transparency
    Voila. Good luck.

  • I have a new Windows tablet computer with limited hard drive space, and cannot transfer my itunes library to the hard drive. Can I run t media from an external hard drive? If so, how do I transfer my files?

I have a new Windows tablet computer with limited hard drive space (32 GB), and cannot transfer my itunes library to the hard drive. Can I run itunes from an external hard drive? I have tried to follow some of the directions on this site, but am having no success. Thanks.

iTunes will run fine with the media on an external drive.
However, I suggest that a tablet computer with a tiny hard drive is not ideal as the primary computer for managing an iTunes library, even a small one. If you have another machine, perhaps a big, boxy, inexpensive old desktop with a decent amount of storage, that might be a better choice.
