Drawing a line straight across a chart

Is there a way to draw a horizontal line straight across a
chart, say a column chart. I want the line to extend all the way
from the y-axis to the far right of the chart.

  • Drawing 2d line chart problem, urgent please!!!

    Hello,
    can anyone help me with the function GRAPH_MATRIX_2D please,
    i couldn't draw a line graph with three data series, i mean with three lines in the graph.
    i want to the chart to be drawn as line graph at the beginning, i shouldn't have to change the chart type later,
    can anybody send me a sample code that does what i want.
    i am expecting your answers,
    thanks.

    Hi,
    have you checked the two reports Matthias mentioned?
    After downloading the SAP Chart Designer the general procedure should look like: create your chart settings interactively using the designer. Save these settings as a local XML file. Use this XML in your ABAP application and additionally create a data XML at runtime (the format is described in the pdf of the SAP Chart Designer zip).
    Regards, Kai
    PS: Please don't use these very outdated function modules graph_matrix* / grstat* in new projects!

  • How Do I Draw An Angled Straight Line?

    Hello,
    I'm restoring an old B&W photo of my Grandmother walking in Atlanta in around 1932. I'm trying to make the power lines of the trolley cars as realistic as possible. Consequently, I'd like to be able to draw these power lines better than they appear in the photo - I've cloned them in and tried to enhance them from the way they are originally, but they are not as straight and authentic as I would like them to be.
    Of course, I know how to draw a straight perpendicular or horizontal line, but is there also a way to draw them when they are at an angle?
    Where are you, Buko and Lundberg02 - Hope you guys are doing ok.
    Thanks for any help you can muster up.
    Burtron

    Scott,
    I just did it! And to think that I went all that time trying to draw those lines as steady as I could - Wow, I thought that surely Adobe would have a way. I just waited too long to get around to asking.
    What a difference this will make!
    Also, in this same old photo is a building that was torn down long ago, I'm sure, but it's after working with it a while, and using the contrast to bring out the images on this building, I began to realize that the building had more and more images - I mean all over it - It's amazing - I don't think that anyone these days would go to all the trouble that this guy did - whoever he is - That's my next challenge - I need to find out who this architect was. I've done all kinds of searches on google, but to no avail. Going to contact the state archives.
    Do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks Again,
    Burtron

    It's simple... I want the Illustrator pen tool to ALWAYS make corner annchor points and NEVER smooth.  Right now I have to convert every single one of them, or I have to do a work around every time I draw a line and make one of the handles disappear.  Is there some simple setting out there that will just "make it so?"@

    The video I am watching this guy is just dragging every line to make curves.  And every anchor point is a corner.  He is not switching back and forth between the pen and the anchor points tool, and he is not using the convert points tool.  He draws a curved line and starts another straight line only to curve it with a click and a drag.  It is super efficient, and I could save a world of time if I could figure out what he is doing.

  • How do I change the line color in a chart in Numbers on my iPad?

    How do I change the line color in a chart in Numbers on my iPad?

    Whenever I try to shift+direct select it thinks I want to move the line, so as I shift + direct select and drag my mouse across the line (to highlight it all) it moves a chunk of the line and turns it into a near perpendicular line.
    I found the appearance window, it just says "Path" (the color I want it to be that it's not)
    "Stroke" 4pt
    "Fill" (the color I want it to be that it's not)
    "Opacity": Default
    And some other buttons. I think I'll try the help line tomorrow, I know I saw a customer service number somewhere and I'm only here because the chat was unavailable. This is only one of my 3 problems with my assignment so I'll search here for answers to the other two. Learning new things is rarely fun.

  • Frame 12 graphics: holding down Shift used to keep the line straight, now what?

    It used to be when drawing a line in Framemaker that holding down the Shift key while dragging the line would keep the line straight. This no longer works in Frame 12. What is the correct way to get a straight line?
    Thanks in advance.

    How are you selecting the line? ctrl+click?
    Do you see the handles when the line is selected?
    Note: when drawing a new line, the shift modifier makes a line either vertical, horizontal or a 45 degree diagonal depending upon how you move the cursor. When editing an existing line, the shift modifier will constrain the line to either expand or shrink along the vector direction or expand or shrink along either the vertical or horizontal axis of the end-point being modified.

  • Drawing fading line

    Hello everyone!
    I am trying to draw a fading line on a desktop. For example: we have a JFrame instance on the screen, when we press right mouse button over the frame and drag the mouse across the screen, I want to draw a line, fading through time. I don't want to restrict the line in the JFrame bounds, instead I want to draw it on the desktop screen.
    Any tips or tricks. Thanks in advance.

    If you don't want to restrict the line to a single JFrame, I believe the JLayeredPane is for you. It allows you to have a transparent pane which overlays multiple Swing components.

  • Drawing a Line in JAVA

    Well Ive got my program to draw a line, but when I drag the mouse across the screen I'd like it to show its actual progress. Ill try to explain this better, if I click my mouse on one point on the screen and drag it to the enxt the line doesnt show up untill I reach my final spot when i release my mouse. What Id like for it to do is to be able to start the line and then have it show the lines progress while Im dragging it. I dont want it to hide the line or whatever. Can anyone give me some help with this? Heres both my java and HTML code.
    Java:
    import java.applet.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    public class Lab11 extends Applet implements MouseListener {
        int x0, y0, x1, y1;
        public void init() {
         addMouseListener(this);
        public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) { }
        public void mouseEntered(MouseEvent e) { }
        public void mouseExited (MouseEvent e) { }
        public void mousePressed(MouseEvent e) {
         x0 = e.getX();
         y0 = e.getY();
         System.out.println("Mouse pressed at: (" +

         this.repaint();
       public void paint(Graphics g) {
         g.drawLine(x0, y0, x1, y1);
    }HTML:
    <html>
      <head>
        <title>Lab 11 Applets</title>
      </head>
      <body bgcolor=white>
        <applet code="Lab11.class" width=300 height=300>
        </applet>
      </body>
    </html>Thanks guys!

    You forgot to add this to your paint() code ...
    g.setColor(Color.BLACK)
    You'll never see anything drawn unless you set a color different thatn background.
    This works, I added code so you can run it in a frame too because I don't want to be bothered with dealing with applets and html files;
    import java.applet.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Lab11 extends Applet implements MouseListener, MouseMotionListener {
        int x0, y0, x1, y1;
        //public void init() {
             public Lab11() {
             addMouseListener(this);
             addMouseMotionListener(this);
        public void mouseDragged(MouseEvent e)
             x1 = e.getX();
             y1 = e.getY();
             repaint();
        public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent e) { }
        public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) { }
        public void mouseEntered(MouseEvent e) { }
        public void mouseExited (MouseEvent e) { }
        public void mousePressed(MouseEvent e) {
         x0 = e.getX();
         y0 = e.getY();
         System.out.println("Mouse pressed at: (" +
                      x0 + ", " + y0 + ")" );
        public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e) {
         x1 = e.getX();
         y1 = e.getY();
         System.out.println("Mouse released at: (" +
                      x1 + ", " + y1 + ")" );
         this.repaint();
       public void paint(Graphics g) {
            g.setColor(Color.BLACK);
         g.drawLine(x0, y0, x1, y1);
        public static void main(String[] argv)
             JFrame f = new JFrame("Test");
             f.getContentPane().add(new Lab11());
             f.setVisible(true);
             f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);

  • How to Draw a line Graph using x,y Cordinates in Java ?

    Hi,
    what r the easiest way to draw a line Graph using Java Code either applet.
    can u give me code sample. or any package where we can pass some parameter so that accoring to the paramter as i know jfreeChart.function() like some method is there from toold jChart.
    Is it possible.
    Regards,
    Prabhat

    There's a number of sample applications in one of the packages of freechart, one of which should do the trick.
    If you're doing applets I suggest you look at genjar from the sourceforge site. What that does is bundle classes from a set of library jars into one jar, selecting only classes that are referenced. That should simplify the transfer problem.
    To draw graphs, typically, you create a DefaultXYDataset object, add data points and then use the appropriate ChartFactory.createXXX methods to build a chart object. Then you wrap that in a ChartPanel to display.

  • Drawing a line

    Is it possible to just draw a few straight lines in FCP pro 5.0?
    Thanks -
    Alessandra

    You could also use Boris Title 3D and just type a single space underline stroke. Highlight it. Then change the "X Scale" to however long you need the line, let's say 9000 just for fun.
    Plop that baby into your project and if you need to reposition the line just use the motion tab and change the center point to let's say -40 or whatever aligns with what you're after. Oh and you can use the wireframe to adjust it with more control.
    It's easier than it sounds in my description.
