Dreaded 404.3 error (again) in CF9.01

Last week I got this error and solved it by adding a handler in the CF Web Server Config Tool.
Difference this time?
New laptop ... using SQL 2005 (not SQL 2000) and Windows 7 64 bit, not 32 bit. Everything else is the same.

I clickOk, but I get a pop up error ...
ASP.NET Windows feature is not installed. They are required to configure IIS7 connector.
In my list of Windows Features that are installed ... it says Microsoft.NE framework.
Where / how do I solve this ASP.NET iis7 connector?

Dreaded 404 errors

Here's the gist:
Using RH7, I updated an existing FlashHelp project created
originally in 2004 with whatever the most-up-to-date version of RH
was back then (I always stay curreent).
This go-around, I added several topics, updated many, deleted
a few, added variables and added snippets. Definitely did not
rename or relocate the start file. It's just as it's always been.
The client now tells me that every call to the Help yields
the dreaded 404 error, and they claim that I moved the location of
the start file. When I look in my FlashHelp folder, it's there
where it's always been. They claim that it was not ever in the
FlashHelp folder before and that it's locationn changed to there.
But I can go back to the FlashHelp folder generated in 2004, and
there it sits, as always as far as I'm concerned.
Anyone got an insights that I can share with my client. I
think they are ready to fire me, and frankly, I'm ready to fire
them once we get through this project.

I realize you are in somewhat of a ticklish situation.
Probably one similar to a support issue I recall reading about.
Folks would call the support line and claim they had already
checked to see if a TV set was actually plugged in before calling.
Well, as it turned out quite often, the TV set was actually plugged
in. But to save face for the customer, the support department
decided it was best to explain that sometimes the connection where
the set was plugged into the wall would become corroded.
and could they please just unplug it and plug it
back in to see if that, umm, cleared the corrosion. Customer
re-connected power and all was well.
The moral of this story is that your customer is probably
simply looking in the wrong place or has copied the files to the
wrong place. Now it's your job to coax them to look in the right
place. If you have established certain procedures that they were
supposed to follow after you supplied the help, you might want to
claim that perhaps you made some mistake and walk with them through
the steps along with you. Perhaps at that point, they will see
their error and correct. Then they will save face.

Interal Muxer Error (Again)

So I'm trying to build a rather large DVD and I'm getting the dreaded Internal Muxer Error. I've read through the other threads asking for help with this problem and turned up nil so far. Hopefully someone can help me ASAP as I'm fast approaching a deadline.
The backstory...I had 23 DVDs that were submitted for a film festival. My job is to create one DVD melt that can serve as a screener for the judges. I used Cinematize 2.0 to extract the .m2v and .aif files for what was to go on the screener. I converted the .aifs to .ac3 with Compressor. Each is about 10 minutes or less. The total size of all the files is 8.69 GB when viewing info in Finder.
When added to DVDSP the total disc size actually says 9.5 GB. I have 2 tracks, with each having about half the clips, so 14 clips and 11 chapters in track 1 and 12 clips/12 chapters in Track 2. I have two menus that link to each of the chapters. Two VTS folders each with a menu and the track it links to.
I know I can't fit the reported 9.5 on a dual layer disc (i have the proper media and drive) but I wanted to create a build of it and then use DVD2oneX2 to shrink it down so it would fit on a Dual Layer DVD+R. Since my build keeps cancelling at about 14% I haven't even gotten this far. I tried eliminating all the chapter markers and that didn't help. Have dumped the PAR folders, nada. Fix invalid markers on build is checked in Prefs. Assets on external firewire, have built to both external and interal with same results. Here is the log:

I've begun the process of eliminating assets to find a potentially corrupt one. So far I think I've localized it. It cancels on the 4th chapter, which is the 5th clip in the timeline. After that everything builds okay, so I know there are no problems in my second VTS.
What's the best approach to fix my problematic asset? Hopefully after I do that there won't be other corrupt assets further down the timeline that I find out about. I guess I could add all the other ones in there and see if it builds okay, then I would know if it was completely isolated to that asset. Will try that now and hope it works! I'll be up all night, so if anyone is around, please chime in, thanks!
EDIT: I put my other assets in, minus the 4th one which I think to be corrupt, and it gave me the error again. Now I think that perhaps its not that asset, but anything beyond that certain point on the DVD. What kind of problem might I be having in a specific point on the Track? I know I read earlier something about faulty GOP structure/boundaries and an easy way to fix them. FWIW, the point in the timeline that the build can't seem to get past is around 00:30:48:07. I know frames are irrelevant in DVD spec, but the more info the better I guess.
EDIT #2: Ugh, I just tried making the track ~equal to the length of the failed build, but only using the assets that were in the timeline that built successfully (AKA known to not be corrupt). It cancelled. This gives credence to the idea that its that particular point in the timeline causing the issue and maybe not the assets afterall. Hopefully I've narrowed it enough for someone to swoop in with a fix. hopefully.

404.3 error CFMX7 and Win 7

Surprised I cannot find any discussions about this other than an unanswered one from 2007 and no replies.
I have just installed CF7 on a Boot Camp MacBookPro. Running SQL 2000.
Yesterday I had CF working fine using the Admin console to set up SQL 2000 connections ... but when I tried a local dev web site, I got the 404.3. Unable to determine how to add MIME for cfm in IIS 7, decided to reinstall CF7.Thinking that CFM would talk natively to IIS and configure itself.
Wrong.
After reinstalling, I go to the CF Admin panel and get the 404.3 eror.
Can someone tell me how to add this MIME type, if that is a real error message?

1. Is IIS Metabase and IIS 6 configuration compatibility feature installed?
Absolutely no idea. How would I know?
2. Did you configure CF to use IIS instead of the built in web server?
When installing we told it to configure for all IIS web site.
3. Try installing the CF9.0.1 update, improved support for IIS 7 is advertised as feature of this update.
May have lied ... We're using IIS 6.1 build 7600.
This DID work yesterday ...
We were running CFMX7. SQL 2000. Brand new install. We could bring up the Admin panel but could NOT connect to any db's. After working on it for a day we finally for the db connections going - no idea how - after a reboot. All was ok .. but when we tried to load an application of ours as a sub site, we got this error. We got nowhere so we decided to reinstall MX7. Which is when we got this error on even the Admin screen. So we decided to clean up ... Uninstall MX7. And instead download CF9 eval and install that after reading notes that said it had a cleaner install on Windows 7 and IIS 6. But still get the 404.3 error.

Without proper system information and other details like what files you work with nobody can tell you much. From corrupted prefs to issues with your PS swap file to actual problems with the fiel storage this could be anything.

the jsp example files(that come with tomcat) run well.

404 Build Error

When using phonegap in Dreamweaver I get a 404 build error. Does this mean that the issue is with Adobe and not my end? Any suggestions or theories would be appreciated. Thanks.

FlashHelp deployed in RH7 displays 404 page error instead of topic

I upgraded some help projects from RHX5 to RH7.
In MAC (OS 10.5.x) Safari (3.2.1), when the application calls the FlashHelp authored in RH7, the Help opens, but the Help topic does not display. Instead, a 404 Page not found error is displayed. If you click a topic in the TOC the HTML content is displayed - so the Help does work after you select a topic.
From the same application, if you call a Help project that was not upgraded to RH7 (but was still authored in RHX5) the topic content opens as expected (you do not get the 404 Page error).
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Yet ANOTHER person looking for an answer to a dreaded Time Machine Error

"Unable to complete backup..." I have a dedicated 2Tb Lacie "Bigger" disk that Time Machine has been effectively backing up to since April 2008. In the last two weeks I've started getting this error. "Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup directory."
After reading the very convoluted and differing solutions to this problem, some that seemed to work for only a few, and some that don't seem to work for anyone, here's what I've done so far with NO results.
I'm running Leopard (with the most recent update - 10.5.6) on a 24" imac.
Step 1. Run Disk Utility to scan the disk for errors - No problems detected.
Step 2. Run Disk Utility to verify the disk - No problems detected.
Step 3. Trash the preferences, both in the system library and the user library, where I found them.
Step 4. Disk Utility - Zero the drive (10 hours btw) and reformatted with Journaling enabled, and a Re-name of the drive.
Step 5. Restart iMac, and upon prompting by the launcher, confirmed that Yes, I would like to use "new name" for Time Machine backups.
Step 6. Wait patiently for 116 seconds for Time Machine to start the first backup.
Step 7. Proceed to slam forehead (repeatedly) into desk when I got the error again after this 20 hour process.
I then proceeded to repeat this process thinking that maybe I'd forgetten a step.
I thought it may be a cable or port issue, so I changed the port that I was using on my drive...NO - the cable is fine, since we tested it on my husbands machine. No connectivity problems.
I thought it may be that I was missing an update, Nope.
I turned off the sleep mode, thinking that it was not able to access the drive effectively. No.
Then I started thinking that maybe there was a corrupted file. Who knows?
Does ANYONE have a suggestion? I am currently without a backup, since I erased my drive. I can do a manual back up, but I don't want to erase the drive again..since it takes forever.

I did not say anything about changing a drive name. What I referred to was the Computer Name as set in Sharing preferences. This is how TM identifies the machine with the backup contained in the Backups.backupd folder.
I would start looking at your console log entries to see what information it provides on the backup when it produces the error. This could be a permissions related problem for all one knows, although it's odd that the problem occurs immediately after you erase the backup drive and start anew.
When you prepared the external drives were they partitioned using APM and formatted Mac OS X Extended (Journaled?) I would also check the drive permissions. Select the drive and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Ownership and Sharing section at the bottom be sure the box labeled "Ignore permissions on this ..." is UNchecked. Standard permissions should be:
Owner=system with r/w privileges
Group=admin with r/w privileges
Everyone is read-only
If these aren't the same, then click on the lock icon, authenticate with your admin password, then change them accordingly. If you don't have a system or admin entry then click on the [+] button. You should be able to select Administrators and add it to the Group list. However, a system user will not exist when you try to add it, so click on the option for a new user. Enter system as the username (all lowercase) then enter and confirm your admin password. You can then add system as a user. Then set the privileges as above. Remove all other users by selecting them and clicking on the [-] button. You cannot delete yourself, but you can change your privileges to read-only.

goto the path Environment -> Transact. RFC -> Source System as mentioned in the error. It will ask for source system ID & password. Enter & login. check if anything is struck over there. If so, execute it manually or press F6.
You can also check SM58 trans for tRFC in BW system. If it is in Red, execute it manually.

i've a problem with doPost(...) method. i use Tomcat4.1 version and in root folder i store Form.html where i use a doGet() method and in WEB-INI>>classes i store Hello.class file for doGet() method. it works normally. but when i write a Form1.html for doPost() method with "<FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="/HelloPost">" line and store as same folder as Form.html and HelloPost.class in WEB-INI>>classes folder. its not working and showing a error

I think you have a form with method="GET"
and in WEB-INI>>classes i store Hello.class file for doGet() method. you have a Servlet called Hello which handles doGet(Request, Response) calls and whose class file you've put into WEB-INF/classes
but when i write a Form1.html for doPost() method with "<FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="/HelloPost">" line and store as same folder as Form.html and HelloPost.class in WEB-INI>>classes folderIt's not enough to put a class file which has the same name as the action of your form into the folder WEB-INF/classes. The class must implement the (Http)Servlet Interface and you have to configure the servlet in the web.xml file.
From where did you get the working Hello example code ?
Look at the Chapter 11: Java Servlet Technology of the J2EE 1.4 Tutorial to learn how to write Servlets.

404 Connection Error

We've installed the client onto the user machines and are getting a 404 Connection Error when the users log into BPC for Excel. Anyone have any ideas on where to start in diagnosing this error?

When the installation of BPC was done did you use any special port for Webserver or application server?
I think when you try to login with webexcel you didn't specify the port.
when is asking about application server you have to input nameofserver:port
Usually 404 error is related to "Web site not accessible on the requested port".
Or the firewall from that client is preventing to connect using specific port.

I loaded up dream weaver and was in the header file and I made some changes to my website and now my from page has a 404 code error? Im not sure how to reverse what I did wrong?

It was because we registered it at the www address as follows and googe reads it as 2 different sites instead of just one..

You may need to try this More than Once...
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success.
Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.
