Dreamcolor LP2480zx monitor showing red tint in every inputs

Hi, I recently obtained this monitor from someone else and when I first power it on, I noticed that it is showing a red tint. At first, I suspect that someone was playing around with the settings so I did a factory reset. Nothing changed. Then I suspect that the DVI cable isn't plugged in properly, Checked it on both ends, used another cable, tried it with various machines and even tried using the HDMI port; results are still the same. Though when I went into the settings and changed the colour profile to one setting and it fixed it for a short time till the problem reoccurs.
I know that it wouldn't be the GPUs in each machine, because my other monitors said so otherwise.
Just for comparision sake and to show what I mean, here are 2 identical images:
This one is from the HP:
And this one is from a perfectly working monitor:
So I began to suspect that the inverter is failing inside the monitor. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hello @Arrowtoknee,
I understand that after performing a factory reset and changing the cables on your HP Monitor you are still getting a red tinge to everything. The issue you are describing appears to be a physical issue and I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.
I would like to thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Infopackage monitor shows red in details tab but green every where else

I deleted all the contents of my cube. Then I did an init load from ODS to Cube. The load shows as completed successfully (green) in both the cube (manage) and monitor header and status. But the monitor details screen shows a red in overall status. The error message it shows there is
    Databasis (requests): errors occured
Has any one experienced this? I can see the records in the cube for that request, so the data is there.
There is another DSO loading this cube. The first ODS is 3.5 and the 2nd is 7.0 and uses a DTP. Do you think this has any thing to do with it?

    Hello Uday,
it happenes because when the data loads happens it will check for all the request which was present in the source and you will see the list of all the request in databasis request.
I would suggest go to the request which is showing red in the list of data basis request and check that request in RSRQ or in the source and see why it has failed...if its not required to correct then you can turn the overall status to green of the loaded request and use it for reporting and it will not be an issue.
    Thanks

  • Monitor issue - PC completed but monitor shows red

We have implemented Support Pack.  For one of the data load -  Process chain has completed and data loaded to cube but process chain log still shows red.  Please help.
    Thanks,
    Mohammed

    Hi,
If you feel that this issue is happened due to support pack implementation then all of your process chains available in system should have monitor status as RED.
But if you are facing issue with particular load then check the process log and job log in SM37. There might be some issues in current load, try to repeate the load and see how it works?

Hello everyone, I've been having an issue ever since I updated to mountian lion a few weeks ago.

  • Why is OEM SQL Monitoring showing parallel on almost every statement

    I'm confused here.
I'm running Oracle EE 11.2.0.2 and when I look in OEM SQL Monitoring, it shows nearly every sql statement running with a degree of parallelism of *2*.
I've checked dba_tables and the 'degree' for all tables is only 1.
I look at the actual sql statement, and there are no hints to tell it to use parallelism.
So why and how is the database using parallelism?
I do see that parallel_threads_per_cpu is set to 2, but this is default for our Solaris 10 operating system.
    REF: (for 11.2)
    ===========
PARALLEL_THREADS_PER_CPU specifies the default degree of parallelism for the instance and determines the parallel adaptive and load balancing algorithms. The parameter describes the number of parallel execution processes or threads that a CPU can handle during parallel execution.
The default is platform-dependent and is adequate in most cases. You should decrease the value of this parameter if the machine appears to be overloaded when a representative parallel query is executed. You should increase the value if the system is I/O bound.
I guess the next question here is how to tell if my database is actually IO bound or not?

Hi John. Thanks for your reply.
    NAME                                 TYPE                             VALUE
parallel_degree_policy               string                           MANUALAnd so, the more I read about PARALLEL_THREADS_PER_CPU, the more I wonder if I should increase this value.
But first, I want to understand why I'm seeing parallelism in OEM set to 2 for almost everything that runs in the database, but note, NOT ALL.
Some queries, especially those running from Crystal Reports, are not using parallelism at all.
Is it possible to set a parameter at the session level that runs parallelism, and perhaps this is being done by the application?
I'm going to try increasing my PARALLEL_THREADS_PER_CPU to 4 and see if this changes the parallelism in OEM, (but I doubt it).
I should note that my most recent AWR report shows my db_file_sequential_read in the top 5 wait events.
This would imply my index reads and table reads by ROWID are waiting for disk - possibly I/O bound.

    snapshot agent showing red mark...
    Hi Baraiya Kirit,
According to the error message, the issue could be caused by that the agent is busy or the agent cannot log in to one of the computers in the topology.
To troubleshoot this issue, please perform the following steps. For more details, please review this article:
    MSSQL_ENG020554.
    • If the agent has stopped, please restart it and check if the error still occurs.
    • If this error is raised frequently because the agent is busy:
You might need to redesign your application so that the agent spends less time processing.
You can increase the interval at which agent status is checked using the Job Properties dialog box.
    • If an agent cannot log in to one of the computers in the topology:
We recommend that the -LoginTimeOut value be set lower than the interval at which the replication agent checkup job runs.

  • HD monitoring with HP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional LCD

I am new to HDV editing using Final Cut Pro and want to set up an editing system. Does anyone have experience with HPHP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional LCD monitor? Does HDMI input mean this monitor will display High Definition picture? What kind of resolution does a monitor need to provide for monitoring HD? How do you get Final Cut Output to HDMI?

Does HDMI input mean this monitor will display High Definition picture?
Yes...but a monitor doesn't need HDMI in to display an HD picture. HDMI is a consumer connection. Professional connections are SDI and Component. HDMI was invented for consumer electronics.
What kind of resolution does a monitor need to provide for monitoring HD?
1920x1080. Most 24" computer monitors are 1920x1200, and are capable of displaying an HD image. But the question is, a COLOR CORRECT HD image?
How do you get Final Cut Output to HDMI?
Via third party hardware. Decklink Intensity and Intensity Pro and HD Extreme cards, Matrox MXO2, AJA I/O HD.
Does anyone have experience with HPHP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional LCD monitor?
Personally, no. But I have heard that via Component and HDMI is doesn't hold up compared to true HD LCD monitors that are designed as production monitors. This one was designed as a COMPUTER monitor...and as that it does well. But computer monitors aren't designed for broadcast HD monitoring. But I'd like to see this monitor connected to a Matrox MXO...

  • [urgent] HP DreamColor LP2480ZX - choosing for reference monitor

    Hi people,
I'm a colorist non pro because I do color grading on video that 90% ones will be on youtube and 10% (increasing, luckly) will be on broadcast HDTV.
So, my friend can sell me a new HP DreamColor LP2480ZX and I want a TRUE 10bit panel (not the z24x).
For this monitor, I will buy 700$,
So, can you give me tips on this monitor because it's so old? it's a TFT...but i don't know, it seems be an incredible opportunity.
The really problem is: I've this opportunity till this night!!
    Thanks.
    ps: I've this "workstation":
    asus X79 Deluxe
    i7 4930K
    16gb (will be 32gb) ram
    GTX 780 nvidia
    Blackmagic Minimonitor
    and other.

Hi, thank you for the reply,
Major people tell me that the Hp z24x have some problems about levels black (you can see the light at the corner of monitor), don't true?.
the Dell have UHD for 24", i can't use it for monitoring color for movie FHD resolution (1920x1080), maybe for GUI it's ideal!

  • Export gives a nasty red tint

    I need some help Please.
I am trying to export a movie from Premiere CS3. The movie looks great when editing, previewing, etc. Whites are super white and color looks good. But the second I go to export, all my whites turn to pink and everything gets saturated with red.
The export preview window even shows a great image, but the actual exported file is horrible.
This problem happens regardless of what file type I'm exporting to. Also, changing compression levels doesn't seem to make any difference. MOV, AVI, Uncompressed - It all turns pink.
I'm using clips from various sources. (after effects, VOB's from a DVD, etc). I've also closed Premiere and started the project over from scratch.
What's happening? And what can I do about it?
    Thanks for the help.

Well, In short. Yes, I'm using a standard computer monitor to view the output.
I'm not sure what that has to do with it thought, given the fact that this problem has never happened before. And this isn't the first movie I've exported from Premiere.
Also, I view movies of all different formats on this same monitor and they look fine.
I can export from After Effects just fine with no problems.
Come to think of it though, I did get the same red tint exporting from after effects when I used the DV/DVCPRO compression set at medium.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

  • How do I remove red tint from pictures on Firefox?

Anytime I surf the web in Internet Explorer or Chrome, pictures look normal. But when I search the web half of the time pictures have a red tint to them. Also if I upload a normal picture from my hard drive to a website through Firefox it will turn the picture a red tint. I can take a screencap of this if you need me to. How do I fix this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== A year ago, no idea what triggered it.

This can be caused by a problem with the color profile for your display monitor or color profiles embedded in images.
You can disable color management to test that.
You can set the pref '''gfx.color_management.mode''' to ''0'' on the ''about:config'' page to disable Color Management.
You need to close and restart Firefox or maybe even reboot the computer to make the change effective.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/gfx.color_management.mode
    See https://developer.mozilla.org/En/ICC_color_correction_in_Firefox
<blockquote>Caveats: The new QCMS color management system introduced in Firefox 3.5 currently only supports ICC version 2 color profiles, not version 4.</blockquote>

  • Premiere Elements 11 is adding a red tint to all the video out create

I have put two clips of .mts video on my timeline.  When I watch the video from the timeline, it looks great.  However, when I output the video (in any format) it has an awful red tint.  I've tried several output options (different version of mpg as well as different version of avchd).  They all have the red tint.
Here is a link to the video.  You can easily see the red tint.  This is not the way the video looks from within Premiere Elements.  Also, I know that Youtube is not the source of the tint, because the tint appears on all the files that I output from Premiere Elements onto my hard drive.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6zimlsmJdI&feature=youtu.be
What is causing this, and how can I prevent it?

OK. Here are some screenshots that I hope illustrate the issue I'm dealing with.  This first picture shows what the video looks like on the preview screen from within PRE.  The image is taken from my Acer external monitor at home.  Notice the natural looking skin tones.
After creating an .mpg version of the file and saving it on my hard drive and viewing it with Windows Media Player on my Acer external monitor, this second picture shows what the image looks like.  Notice the red tint on the skin.
This third picture shows the same .mpg file as it appears on the built-in screen on my laptop.  Notice that the skin tones look a little more natural, but they still display some red tint.  They definitely don't look as natural as the skin tone in the first picture (as the image appears from the preview screen within PRE).
A few extra notes: I realize that these images may appear differently to other viewers whose monitors will display them differently.  However, I think that comparing the first image in the series with the second two will show a significant change in skin tone.
A second note: When I view the .mpg file on my ViewSonic monitor in my office, the red tint on the skin tone is almost gone.
A third note: Because the ViewSonic external monitor doesn't seem to have the red tint problem, it seems to point to a problem with my Acer external monitor.  However, as the images above show, the built-in screen on my laptop also shows the red tint.  But, more importantly, if the problem is with my Acer external monitor, then I don't understand why it shows such natural skin tones on the image displayed within PRE preview window.
A final note: I attached a screen clip from the image as it appeared on an .mpg file.  However, the same red tint appears on several version of .mpg as well as .mp4 files that I created with PRE.
Thanks for helping me figure this out.

  • External Monitor Shows Only Black Screen ??

Recently, my PowerBook G4 12" stopped working properly with my external monitor. My external monitor is a Dell 2005FPW that is connected to my laptop via a mini-DVI adapter, a VGA cable to the VGA port on the 2005FPW. When connected to the laptop, the 2005FPW goes black; otherwise, the monitor shows it's "rest" screen which is a bouncing color bar.
This system has worked without problems for years. I changed nothing in the configuration and (possible red herring) the only "event" prior to the problem developing was that I installed the "Security Update 2008-005 (PowerPC) v 1.0".
I have confirmed that the monitor and VGA cable are working with my wife's laptop.
Today, I replaced the mini-DVI to VGA adapter, and the problem hasn't gone away.
    Any suggestions?
    Michael

Did it develop around the same time, after you downloaded the security update?

  • Why PSA data show red status when opened but green on PSA page?

Run RSA1 -> click PSA to open PSA page, locate one infosource and find the PSA under it, find the status column shows it's green, but when opening it, find the 1st column shows red for each row.  How does the inconsitance occur?
BTW, if we open the infopackage monitor for the above one, find a weird thing is that each request get two consecutive processes running with a circle of red ball and green ball in the left frame.  Double click one of them, in the right frame and click the monitor Status tab, the msg window is as following (in between two dashed lines below):
Incorrect data records - error requests (total status GREEN)
    Diagnosis
Data records were recognized as incorrect.
    System response
The valid records were updated in the data target and can be used in reporting.
The incorrect records were not written to the data target, but were posted retractively under a new request number in the PSA.
    Procedure
Check the data in the error requests, correct the errors, and post the error requests.
Sounds like the data failed to uploaded to data target due to error in PSA, but why the status show green in somewhere?   And if clicking the Details tab, all show green!  Weird!
    Thanks

    Hi Kevin,
In your InfoPackage Update tab, click the Error Handling button. It seems that the Valid records update, request green option is chosen. This is why you see the green request and some error records.
This means that the corect reocrds were loaded and are available for reporting, but the incorrect ones were left behind. This is used to check the erro records separatelt so that they do not disrupt the entire data load.
    Hope this helps...
