Dreamweaver  8.0 Macintosh

I've bought Dreamweaver 8.0 for Windows since march, 2007 from local supplier in Thailand
Today, I check my account on Adobe website, it say "Dreamweaver  8.0 Macintosh".
I'm note sure, will I can get any update for Windows platfrom or not
Thanks in advnace.

If you have a valid Windows license and it is showing wrong on your account here, contact Adobe.  It is possible that someone sold you a bad license, but it is possible it is an error with their system.  Either way, you need to contact Adobe.

  • Can't insert tables in Dreamweaver MX

I am unable to insert any tables in Dreamweaver MX. I am
running Windows Vista Home Premium. I've had some difficulties with
the program since purchasing this new computer. Does anyone know a
    fix?
    Thanks!

    This is the fix y'all:
. Delete FileCache.dat files from the Dreamweaver user
    configuration folder.
    Delete the WinFileCache-7A9586CB.dat,
MacFileCache-BFE7CE2E.dat, or FileCache.dat file from the
Dreamweaver user configuration folder. It is recommended to delete
the FileCache.dat file if you are experiencing a JavaScript error
related to "dwscripts" or if you are receiving a "translators were
not loaded" error message. The string of characters after
"FileCache-" may differ on your machine. The location of the
FileCache.dat file depends your operating system and your version
of Dreamweaver. Note that on Windows, the Application Data and
AppData folders are hidden by default, so verify that your Windows
Explorer folder options are set to View Hidden Folders.
    Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows Vista:

  • Dreamweaver creating duplicate sites when working with Contribute and CPS

I've set up many websites with Dreamweaver for a Contribute/CPS environment and each time I edit the Contribute admin setting and save them, Dreamweaver created a duplicate of that site. Then when I go into edit the Contribute admin settings again, it will not let me in, saying that there is already a site with that name. I then have to delete one of the duplicates which sometimes removes the connection to CPS. Has anyone else experienced this in a multi-site, multi-user environment with CPS??? See attached image to see the duplicate sites.

I have had the same problem.
Had Dreamweaver support on the phone yesterday, after receiving this email:
Please try resetting the preferences for Dreamweaver. Follow the steps given below.

If this does not help can you please send me details below to isolate the issue further.
    1)      Step by step workflow to reproduce the issue.
    2)      Is this happening with multiple files? Few sample files to test the issue at my end.
    3)      Complete System Information file of the computer having issues.
    4)      Were there any H/w or S/w changes applied on the computer having issues. Since when are you getting this issue?
    5)      Is the user on domain account or local user? Do they have admin rights?

    After our telephone conversation:
    I deleted all sites.
I have completely deleted all versions of Dreamweaver, deleted all preference files and reinstalled Dreamweaver CC.
It's still happening, so I will be back to them tomorrow.

  • Dreamweaver CC constantly crashing when working with BC

    Hi,
Dreamweaver CC is constantly crashing when working with BC. I had lots of contact with the support, my issue is at tier2 already, I had telephone-support several times, we had lots of possible solutions. Nothing worked.
DW CC is crashing as often as CS6 did and it only happened when working with a BC-site. Whenever uploading to BC, there is a 30% chance that DW crashes. When having stopped working with DW for a few minutes (like doing something in PS) DW crashes in every case. 100%. As this must have something to do with BC, I urgently beg to check the integration of BC into DW or check the connection-mode.
    Here are my Specs:
    - iMac with latest OS
    - Adobe CC (latest )
    - German
    -DSL 1500 b/sec-connection
I tried saving the sites root folder on a NAS and on local harddrive. I tried with or without german Umlaute , no difference.
Sometimes I can cancel the upload-message and redo, then its working (75%).
As I seem to be the only one having this problem, I completely reinstalled the system and CC, but the problem still exists.
I would really appreciate any help or support from Adobe, although I must say, they already did a lot, but unfortunately my problem is not solved.
By the way, several dialogs with "dont show message again"-ckeckboxes simply come again, no matter whether box is checked or not.
Writing uppercase I (shift-I) insert content of clipboard and writes an uppercase I. (weird?)

I have had the same problem.

  • Case #0182844369 : faults with version 5.5 but who do I talk to?

    Hiya
I have had extensive help from your support - but they still have not found the reason for the problem.
See the case notes at the bottom of the page
But I have inadvertantly found the reason the line breaks are being altered by Dreamweaver. See this resoponse from support working on Kaleidoscope:
    Hi Colin,
Sorry for the confusion. When I said "editor", I meant the program that you're using to edit the files (BBEdit, TextEdit, etc.).
I've played around with the sample files and it looks like there's actually two problems. The first is the extra line breaks, as I mentioned before. I took a screenshot in TextEdit, so you could see a side-by-side (see screenshot-linebreak.png). As you can see, cw-product.php on the left has an extra blank line between every line, where cw-product-copy.php does not.
Switching over to TextWrangler, I removed the extra lines (do a grep Find/Replace All for ^\r) then saved the file. When I compared them in Kaleidoscope I got the same result as in your screenshot showing the entire file as different.
So I checked the files again in TextWrangler and found that it did a funny thing; it saved the document with "Windows (CRLF)" linefeeds, not "Classic Mac (CR)". Although these are hidden characters, Kaleidoscope sees them as different, so it ends up highlighting the entire file as one large diff set. I suspect whatever file editor you are using may have done the same thing.
I re-saved the file, making sure to set the linefeed property to Classic Mac (CR) and ran a new comparison. This time Kaleidoscope showed the single line change. (My modified files are attached.)
If you don't already have TextWrangler, I'd recommend grabbing a copy (it's free) to help with troubleshooting. I'm not sure that I would have been able to identify the linefeed type without it.
I hope that clears up the mystery for you. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
    Regards
    Jack

This morning I have now found that 5.5 is back to it's original problem.
When I uploaded an edited PHP file using 5.5 NOTHING appears in the browser at all.
When I upload EXACTLY the same file in 5.0 the file displays perfectly in the browser.
The FTP problem is STILL there. I can't use 5.5.
Sorry. Problem not solved : (

    Thursday, February 2, 2012 12:53:13 AM PST
I have found that when we rebuilt the SITE for Maison, I had accidentally put the ROOT DIRECTORY AS / instead of /web/ so in fact we
were not putting them to the website at all.
So the reason the file worked is because it was using the one previously uploaded from version 5 and NOT 5.5.
I have been trying to upload another file and found that the revisions weren't appearing in the browser.
I looked at the server using Fetch (see screen shot below). Which displayed the problem.
So I am afraid the problem is NOT SOLVED.
Please keep the case open. Sorry!

    Hi again,
I have now installed ONLY a brand new download of DW 5.5 on my brand new MacBookAir.
As before I have tried uploading the file from Dreamweaver...
    http://www.maisonhomeinteriors.com/ stores5-5.php
When the file is uploaded with Dreamweaver the button does NOTHING.
But when the IDENTICAL FILE is uploaded with FETCH the button works to display a hidden DIV.
So sadly the problem is NOT resolved still.

    Hiya,
I have been trying to connect to this website ALL DAY. Each time getting error messages or pages not found.
I have tried to phone you. The first time I was cut off, the second time kept me hanging on so long I gave up.
Can you give me a direct phone or email address please?
Anyway, Attached is the error I received when I first used DW 5.5 after installing on my new MacPro. I have now also bought a new ma
c book air, I had exactly the same error shown there.
To fix the problem on the MacPro I looked up the older version 5 and copied the file to version 5.5. Perhaps this is what has caused
    the problem?

As I said in my previous reply the list of suggestions didn't make any difference. Dreamweaver 5.5 is STILL unreliable.
The problem seems to be in the FTP as I have uploaded the file through FETCH and it did NOT have any problems. I find it hard to ima

    Hiya,
Well I have tried everything you suggest and I am afraid it has made no difference.
Whichever file gets uploaded using version 5.5 does not work.
Interestingly I have uploaded the SAME two files using FETCH instead and both of them WORK.
So as you say the problem is something to do with FTP not working properly in 5.5...
To answer your specific questions... My ANSWERS IN CAPS AFTER YOUR QUERIES...
    3) Since when you have this issue? has it ever worked right after the first installation.
EVER SINCE I INSTALLED 5.5 VERSION 5 WORKS FINE STILL
    4) Is the issue happens in live View in Dreamweaver?
IN VERSION 5 CLICKING LIVE VIEW DOES NOTHING.
IN VERSION 5.5 CLICKING IT OFFERS TO UPLOAD THE FILES, BUT CLICKING THE BUTTON DOESN'T WORK
    5) Please create a local web server using any of the third party server tools and test the issue on local machine.
I HAVE NEVER MANAGED TO DO THIS SO NOT TRYING AGAIN, IT NEVER SEEMS TO WORK FOR SOME REASON
    6) Please make sure that all the dependent files are accessible and present while he uploads the “stores.php” files. IT seems that t
his issue is somewhere related to the JavaScript files incorrect path.
NOT SURE I AGREE. I THINK THERE IS A FAULT IN THE FTP UPLOAD WITH VERSION 5.5
    I hope this all helps!
    Thanks for your support!

    Hiya
Well I have tried all you suggest and the problem is still the same. The OLD version 5 uploads the file perfectly and clicking the b

To make it easier for you to see the effect I have duplicated the stores.php file so that there is one called stores5.php and one ca

Each one is IDENTICAL no changes have been made. The one entitled stores5.php has been uploaded by version 5 and the one called stor

I hope you can see the problem!
I have found other problems with other sites too. I simply can't trust version 5.5 !!!!

  • 'Error loading plugin: Plugin file not found' message on ONLY 5 sites, but all others OK.  Help, please!

    Hi Again!
I posted this problem here before, but since I really need to access the sites that receive this error message in less than a month, I had to re-post; hopefully someone who didn't see it before will see it & have a solution for me.
Here are the details:  I'm running windows 8.1 & I use Firefox 33.1.1, Pale Moon 25.1.0 or Opera 26.0 as my browsers, (I have IE installed & up-to-date, but I never use it).  I followed the 10-point checklist on Adobe & everything was done, except for "uncheck Hardware Acceleration" in Flash 'Settings'; I tried to uncheck it on this site, where it's indicated, as well as in my 4 browsers when I'm doing something that uses Flash, but no matter how hard I try, I can't 'uncheck' the check mark in that tiny box!  Since this error problem only affects 5 web sites, & I can watch streaming media on all other sites, I don't think it's an issue.
Here's how this problem began:  I was watching a live, streaming nest-cam on 5/09/14 around 11:00AM, (yes, I DO know the exact time & date, because it happened so suddenly while I was watching this website that I'd been watching since the end of February, 2014), when my screen went black.  I thought it was probably an Adobe Crash, but when the usual Crash Report window didn't show up, I just closed Firefox & reopened it, expecting to resume watching the nest-cam.  When I went back to the site, I got the black screen with the "Error loading plugin: Plugin file not found" message.  The chat portion on the site still works, though. I know there are other sites with this nest-cam feed, so I started trying them, but it took several tries for me to find one that didn't get the error message! I posted this problem on "Windows BBS" forum, & someone else posted that the same thing happened to them AND on the same sites!  They didn't have a solution, either.  I cleared my cache, rebooted my PC & even did a System Restore, but whatever happened in that brief second made using ONLY 5 sites impossible.  Here are the sites that receive the error message:
http://pixcontroller.com/eagles, (but I CAN go to http://pixcontroller.com, but there isn't any streaming media)
    http://cbslocal.com/eagles
    http://westmorelandconservancy.org/BlueBirdwebcam-1.htm
http://wildearth.tv/cam/pittsburgh-bald-eagles, (I get the error message on ALL cams on this site)
http://aviary.org/BE-NestCam1 (I get the error message on ALL cams on this site)
Now if any videos from the 5 websites above are uploaded to YouTube, I can watch them perfectly...no error message if I watch the videos elsewhere.  Luckily, I found Ustream, & they have most of the nest cams I watch, but I need to fix this issue, because it's nearing nesting time!  I'm an amateur nest-watcher & it's vital that I have access to these 5 sites, so if anyone knows how to fix this, PLEASE tell me!
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
    All suggestions/solutions are gratefully accepted.
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Can't insert tables

I have Dreamweaver MX and installed it on a new system with
windows vista (my old system was XP), I try and insert a table, I
enter rows/columns and an error message appears and dreamweaver
shuts down, when I restart the programme I click on the tables tab
but nothing happens, I restarted my computer, no change, so I
uninstalled and reinstalled dreamweaver, and entered rows/columns
and I get the same problem, any suggestions????
    Mike (Fivemiletown)

    This is the fix y'all:
. Delete FileCache.dat files from the Dreamweaver user
    configuration folder.
    Delete the WinFileCache-7A9586CB.dat,
MacFileCache-BFE7CE2E.dat, or FileCache.dat file from the
Dreamweaver user configuration folder. It is recommended to delete
the FileCache.dat file if you are experiencing a JavaScript error
related to "dwscripts" or if you are receiving a "translators were
not loaded" error message. The string of characters after
"FileCache-" may differ on your machine. The location of the
FileCache.dat file depends your operating system and your version
of Dreamweaver. Note that on Windows, the Application Data and
AppData folders are hidden by default, so verify that your Windows
Explorer folder options are set to View Hidden Folders.
    Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows Vista:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver
    9\Configuration
    Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application
    Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
    Dreamweaver 8 on Windows XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application
    Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration
    Dreamweaver 8 on Windows Vista:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
    8\Configuration
    Dreamweaver CS3 on Macintosh:
    Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application
    Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 9/
    Dreamweaver 8 on Macintosh:
    Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application
    Support/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/
Works like a charm (after hours of research)

  • Strange SFTP error message

I can no longer connect using SFTP on one of my sites in Dreamweaver CS6 and I get this error message:
Failed to Read the contents of XML Resource:
    IDD_SSH_KEY_CHANGE_DIALOG
The password and paths  are correct and I am able to connect using other SFTP clients such as Cyberduck. I've deleted the site several times and recreated in Dreamweaver, but the error message remains the same.
Somebody please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks.

Yes!!! Step 12 worked. (Renaming the Configuration folder.) Thank you so much, you're a star.
Anyone else trying this on Lion or Mountain Lion should note that the user Library that contains this folder is not visible by default:
    /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS6/[language]/Configuration
You have to go into Terminal to make it visible, see the tutorial here:
    http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/qt/Os-X-Lion-Is-Hiding-Your-Library-Folder.htm
Also note: there's another Configuration folder within the Dreamweaver Application itself: Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver/Configuration, however renaming is no help at all - it makes Dreamweaver crash!

  • Javascript error on launch

When I Launch Dreamweaver CS3 I always get an error screen

    TypeError: MMSiteSettings.hasPendingSiteImports is not a
    function
The error appears twice and I have to click OK each time in
    order to complete the launch.
How do I get rid of this?
    Thanks.

    Try this:
    Close Dreamweaver.
    Delete the WinFileCache-7A9586CB.dat,
    MacFileCache-BFE7CE2E.dat, or
FileCache.dat file from the Dreamweaver user configuration
    folder. The

    machine.

  • HOW DO I UNINSTALL THIS GARBAGE

Ok, so I downloaded the trial version of this software and used it for an hour and never used it again. Now the trial expires and I am having ERROR AFTER ERROR when I start up Dreamweaver..
    JavaScript Errors
    ASP.NET errors
    etc etc...
I can't even CUT AND PASTE TEXT without an error.....
    I can't even ENTER A
    tag without getting an error.
So basically the software DOES NOT WORK NOW
So I try to go into the COntrol Panel of Developer Toolbox and GUESS WHAT?????????????????????????
    AN ERROR!!
    WTF do I do now?????????????????????????
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Check the list of known JavaScript errors below, to see if your error is listed.
YES, AND I HAVE ABOUT * MORE I CAN ADD TO YOUR LITTLE LIST
    2. Install the latest update for your version of Dreamweaver, if one is available.
NO UPDATE AVAILABLE FOR CS3, but is Dreaweaver 9 actually Dreamweaver CS3?? NO IDEA SINCE INSTEAD OF MAKING THINGS STRAIGHTFORWARD, Adobe take the approach of MOST companies by putting this in the users lap...
    3. Verify that any object the JavaScript refers to is named in the code.
For example, if you have a behavior applied to an image, then that image must have a name. Likewise, if the behavior refers to another image, then that image must also have a name. All object names must be unique and must meet other criteria. Object naming is described in "Naming strategies for Dreamweaver and various interpreters" (TechNote tn_14610).
WHAT???????? WTF are they talking about... I have ERRORS THAT WILL NOT ALLOW THE PROGRAM TO RUN.... How the hell do I know....???
    4. Delete FileCache.dat files from the Dreamweaver user configuration folder.
Delete the WinFileCache-7A9586CB.dat, MacFileCache-BFE7CE2E.dat, or FileCache.dat file from the Dreamweaver user configuration folder. It is recommended to delete the FileCache.dat file if you are experiencing a JavaScript error related to "dwscripts" or if you are receiving a "translators were not loaded" error message. The string of characters after "FileCache-" may differ on your machine. The location of the FileCache.dat file depends your operating system and your version of Dreamweaver. Note that on Windows, the Application Data and AppData folders are hidden by default, so verify that your Windows Explorer folder options are set to View Hidden Folders.
    Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows Vista:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
    Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
    Dreamweaver 8 on Windows XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration
    Dreamweaver 8 on Windows Vista:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration
    Dreamweaver CS3 on Macintosh:
    Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 9/
    Dreamweaver 8 on Macintosh:
    Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/
NO SUCH FILE EXISTS, that I could find, I searched using Windows Search tool but to no avail....
    5. Try a new page.
There may be conflicting code or Dreamweaver behaviors on the page. Try to build a new page from scratch with minimal behaviors and other design elements and see if you can reproduce the error. Custom code or modified Dreamweaver code can occasionally cause problems.
TRY A NEW PAGE?>???? Sure, if I could get Dreamweaver to START
    6. Re-create the site cache and see if the problem persists.
In particular, this step is useful for JavaScript errors related to templates, library items and uploading files. This step is only available if the site is defined to use a site cache:
    DUH, Can't STAT THE PROGRAM
Within Dreamweaver, open the Site panel by choosing Window > Files.
From the Files panel group, click the Options menu icon in the top right corner, and choose Site > Recreate Site Cache.
    7. For site specific errors, try deleting the .dws site cache file.
If the JavaScript only occurs in one site definition, then delete the .dws site cache file for that site. For more details, see Dreamweaver crashes when performing a task related to site definitions (TechNote 5989f7f4).
SAME ANSWER - CANNOT START THE APP NOW
    8. Macintosh users: Check for special characters in paths.
Check for any special characters in the hard drive name, in the path to the Dreamweaver configuration folder, or in the path to your site files. Examples of special characters that can cause conflicts are listed in "File or folder name in Mac OS may break Dreamweaver functionality" (TechNote tn_14452).
    I'm UNFORTUANTELY ON A PC
    9. Verify extensions are compatible with your version of Dreamweaver
There may be a conflicting extension installed in Dreamweaver. For example, an extension may have been designed to work with an older version of Dreamweaver. Check the extension developer's website to see if the extension is compatible with your version of Dreamweaver. There are several JavaScript errors associated with third-party extensions. We recommend searching the Dreamweaver newsgroup for some of the keywords in your JavaScript error message (for example, search using the text of the JS file name). A good way to search the newsgroup is with Google Groups, http://groups.google.com.
YOUR EXTENTIONS WORKED UNTIL THE TRIAL EXPIRED.. Now you guys are killing me
    10. Disable extensions.
To manually test for an extension conflict, open the Extension Manager and disable the extensions that you installed in Dreamweaver and see if the issue persists. If turning off the extensions solves the problems, then go back into the Extension Manager and turn them back on one-by-one, until you isolate the problematic extension. If you identify a problematic extension, then notify the extension developer.
    LOL - great fix, thanks...........
    Choose Commands > Manage Extensions.
In the Extension Manager, select your version of Dreamweaver from the product list
Within the list of installed extensions, set the On/Off checkbox to Off for all Dreamweaver extensions.
    11. Uninstall extensions.
If the JavaScript error persists after you disable all of the extensions, then uninstall the extensions in the Extension Manager. If you identify a problematic extension, then notify the extension's author.
    ALREADY REMOVED THE EXTENTIONS
Within the Extension Manager, select each extension.
    Choose File > Remove Extension.
    12. Recreate the Dreamweaver user configuration folder.
    Windows:
For Dreamweaver CS3, see "How to re-create the Dreamweaver user configuration folder (CS3 on Windows XP, Vista)" (TechNote kb401118).
For Dreamweaver 8, see "Re-creating the Dreamweaver user configuration folder on Windows" (TechNote 36bda422)
    Macintosh:
    Quit Dreamweaver
In the Mac Finder, browse to the following folder:
    Dreamweaver CS3:
    Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver 9/Configuration
    Dreamweaver 8:
    Mac HD/Users/[user]/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Dreamweaver 8/Configuration
Rename the folder to "Configuration Old"
Restart Dreamweaver and see if the problem persists.
    13. Run Dreamweaver in Selective Startup Mode or Diagnostic Startup Mode.
Run Dreamweaver in Selective Startup Mode or Diagnostic Startup Modeas described in "Running Dreamweaver in Selective Startup Mode or Diagnostic Mode" (TechNote d2a8c508). This will ensure that possibly conflicting background applications such as anti-virus software and personal firewalls are disabled.
    14. See additional TechNotes.
If the JavaScript errors still persist after you follow the suggestions above, then refer to the following TechNotes for additional troubleshooting suggestions. Uninstalling and reinstalling Dreamweaver, with anti-virus software disabled, is an important test to perform:
Troubleshooting Dreamweaver for Windows (TechNote tn_15481)
Troubleshooting system errors or freezes in Dreamweaver (8, CS3 on Mac OS X) - (TechNote kb401096)
Known JavaScript errors and solutions"The following JavaScript error(s) occurred: At line 56 of file "C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\Configuration\Shared\Common\Scripts\dwscriptsExtData.js": ReferenceError: dwscripts is not defined."
